Amrit Paul Singh vokste opp i India og kom til Oslo året før han skulle begynne på videregående skole. Siden flyttet familien til Drammen der han nå bor. Han utdannet seg til økonom og har jobbet både Norsk Hydro og Skatteetaten. Han har hele tiden vært aktiv i sikh-tempelet. Som politiker i Drammen kommunestyre har han blant annet engasjert seg for at frivillige organisasjoner skal kunne bruke skolebygg til sin virksomhet.Det er fint at det er virksomhet i skolene på ettermiddager og kvelder. Det er innbyggerne som eier skolene og bør få benytte lokalene, sier Amrit.Ypsilonsamtaler er en podkast av og med Ivar Flaten. Ypsilon er den ikoniske gangbroen over Drammenselva. Drammen er elveby og en by for brobyggere. Ivar inviterer mennesker til samtale der kulturmøter, brobygging og samfunnsliv er tema. De inviterte har bidratt - og bidrar til at verden blir et bedre sted gjennom arbeidsliv, frivillig innsats og samfunnsengasjement på ulike måter.Drammen kommune har omtrent 100.000 innbyggere med røtter i over 150 nasjoner.
