After wanting an amicable divorce from her coercive controlling ex-husband, Cherie discovers that her only option to protect her and her daughter requires her to summon her inner strength, resilience and perseverance. "Take a deep breath, slow down, do the research and find the right person to fit your situation - there are plenty of options out there!" Cherie is a woman who experienced a sudden separation from her husband of 14 years and is navigating the challenges of coparenting and financial settlement. She is a strong advocate for taking time to research and find the right resources for a successful separation. She had trusted her husband with full control of their finances, not realising it was a red flag. When she realised the situation she was in financially, she panicked and went into finding a lawyer instead of taking her time. With the help of her village, she set strong boundaries and took care of herself with small tasks like a walk around the block or a five minute meditation. If you've been following business coaches or anyone offering entrepreneurial advice online over the past ten years, you've probably been told—in no uncertain terms—that you need social media for your business. And yet, for many of us, social media just isn't fun and we're not seeing direct business results from it. So is it true? And if you need social media, how do you actually use it to see results? Whether you're talking about Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, or whatever platforms come out in the future, we're going to dive into what social media is for, what it can do for your business, and what you should be posting. Things change very quickly on social media, so it's hard to look at common advice from even just a year ago and apply it today. But let's look at a kind of marketing that's been around forever: TV commercials. Now, remember the last commercial you watched? They weren't telling you to buy now. They were just trying to make you aware of the brand or product and paint a positive picture of what your life would look like with it. You still have to go to the store and find the product and put it in your cart and buy it, but you aren't likely to do any of that if you've never heard of the brand before. That's called brand recognition, and it's what you need to be doing on social media today. In order to build brand recognition on social media, you need to: prove that you exist by putting things out there, share what your customer needs to hear to know, like, and trust you, and offer a “window shopping” experience to show your customers that you meet their needs, wants, and desires. It's important that you get started with this process early because it takes time to build relationships. You aren't going to see direct sales like so many people expect, but if you start establishing brand recognition and building trust now, come the holiday season, people will feel more comfortable buying from you. Every birth is different. Every birth is beautiful, magical and special. With negative birth stories and horror stories shared widely, I have been hesitant to share my very positive, beautiful birth story. However, I realized that in sharing my story, it doesn't take away from anyone else's story. I realized that we need to share positive stories because that's what I wanted to hear during my pregnancy. I'm reading out the 9-page account of my first birth that I wrote down when my daughter was just over a week old. She'll be 4 soon, and it was such a great reminder to me of the strength, beauty and resilience that is our human body.Whether you are trying-to-conceive, pregnant, considering having a baby, or work with people who have babies, I hope this story of my beautiful unmedicated home birth brings you comfort and reminds you of the magic within your own body.
