Paris Gondo is an RPG about the joy of getting rid of what you don't need and drags you down. I have known about this game since before it came out and had the enormous pleasure of playing it when it was still under development. Now, after a few months of further tweaking and some great improvements, it's out for you to enjoy and I wanted to talk to Kalum about it because… Well… you'll find out because in the interview… Visit Paris Gondo's website here. Here is what the author's site has to say: A Simple Effective Play-Based Method To Banish Encumbrance Forever This game is a tongue-in-cheek tribute to encumbrance rules and other tropes found in beloved dungeon-crawling games.   It is a GM-less storytelling game for 3 to 6 players, designed to be played in a few hours with polyhedral dice and no preparation.   Players in this game embody Adventurers who, as a group called a Party, have reached the last level of a Dungeon and defeated the Boss who presided over it. Play starts as Adventurers discover Loot you create. The objects you decide your Adventurer carries home makes up what you pack as their Final Inventory.   If Adventurers hold on to possessions that spark joy, they might feel invigorated and satisfied for the rest of their existence, or at least until their next adventure. But letting go of less emotionally charged but useful Belongings might prove to be a deadly mistake for the Party on their Journey Home.   Content Replay It's the transcript of a complete play session, edited for your enjoyment, to give you an overview of how the game works. This is inspired by the TRPG (Tabletalk Roleplaying Game) format popular in Japan.   Complete Rules This includes the rules and everything you need to play the game in step-by-step instructions. This game is a collaborative storytelling game. You can jump straight to the GonParis Method and follow its Six Steps without prior reading. However, it works better if one player facilitates your first session by reading the rules in advance.   Play-Aids and Card Decks You will find in the Appendix links to all the Play-aids and Card Decks in both JPG and PDF formats that you will need to play around a table.   Those are also included as a Miro board that you can copy to very easily play the game online.   Credits A game designed by Kalum from The Rolistes Podcast.   Rules Editor: Chris S. Sims.   Graphic design: Francita Soto and Kalum   Art by Bodie Hartley   This podcast is made for people like you. Thank you for being there. But don't take my word for it, this month's “The Rolistes Present…” assembled a team to tell you everything about this hip place where you too can hang out: Hanna – Alikai.Wonderland (She/Her)Hanna is from Finland and a roleplayer since 2009 and a small-time creator on TikTok since 2019.She's also, as Eloria, a creator active through her local Fenno-Swedish LARP association. On Tik Tok, she mainly focuses on funny little skits and short videos reflecting her characters' personalities.Kestrel – OtisClues/OatCooki (They/Them)Kestrel is from the UK. They have been cosplaying for 5 years and playing DnD since mid-2019. They are known by their friends as the resident dice goblin, with 42 sets and counting. This month's panel is the sort of panel that I created "The Rolistes Present…" for. It offers a unique insight on the tabletop RPG community in a European country and, who knows, might lead to the development of coll future interactions (I am crossing fingers for my guest to join us in London for Dragonmeet in 2020). To take us to the shores of Lusitania our guides will be: Especuatório/Rubber Chicken Games – Daniel Carvalho (He/Him)Published author by Edita-me and RPG writer for Especulatório and Rubber Chicken Games. Member of the portuguese RPG broadcasting platform Rola Iniciativa, and the creator of games such as Asilo, A Dinner to Die For and The Darkest Side.RPGénesis – Claudia Silva (She/Her)Started RPing and GMing in 1997. Created and admins the Portuguese RPG Discord Server – RPG Portugal, and admins its sister community on Facebook. Is the creator of the first Portuguese RPG-design jam RPGénesis, which first ran in August 2010. Has been an editor for White Wolf, supplied art for indie RPGs and supplements, as well as written an entire supplement about villains that ended up never being published. Is still quite sad about that. Is Lead Writer for the UK-based LARP Death Unto Darkness. Has created the RPGs “Drama Gakuen”, “Generation Hex”, “Senryaku” and “Phonomancer”.Rola Iniciativa – André Tavares (He/Him)André is a producer and content creator at Rola Iniciativa platform, being the most notorious show Roll for Diplomacy where André already interview RPG designers such as Adam Koebel, Luke Crane, John Harper and the Bakers. He's the co-owner of Maré Baixa, an independent tabletop game publisher, counting with a couple of small games published, such as Tower of Arcana, Dungeon Heart and The Orc and the Pie. André is also the founder of Rolisboa, the Portuguese RPG convention, and ultimately he gives the best hugs. I renez my call to my panellists, tabletop RPG authors and fans from Portugal to visit us in London for Dragonmeet 2020. If you are yourself already in London, please consider joining our our next monthly “London Le Drinks & Dices” at Bad Moon Cafe every first Wednesday of the month. We are back in the podcastzone at Dragonmeet. The recording sounds awful because I am an idiot. This was a string of bad moves in recording in December. There is a longer apology in the podcast intro. Sorry.   The situation this year is a lot of fun. Mike Technique is selling a house, and each group of players get a discount if they collect some gems from inside. An inprobable and ridiculous scenario. So each group must navigate this mansion. However any mess and chaos they leave behind must be sorted by the groups that follow them.  How fascinating!   This year we are joined by  Merely Roleplayers and  The D20 Future Show   Thanks as always to Kallum from The Rolistes Podcast for setting up the awesome PodcastZone

A handful more interviews before we leave for a year the #PodcastZone gathering The Rolistes Podcast, The Rusty Quill, The Formal Gamer, Dark Cleo Productions and The Wizard On The Wynd. In addition, I didn't manage my time too badly on the editing of Episode 16 and this first part of Episode 17. So here it is already. As an appetiser to what will follow here's a handful of... So it's been a year... I guess it was time to admit The Rolistes Podcast is mostly an ego trip (you probably had figured it out by now) and to finally stop interrupting my guests when they speak... ...by being the guest myself. To be the host of that special episode, I recruited the best available, someone with an... Continue reading The One About Me, Me, Me, Meee... (With Awesome Feats)

It's been almost a year since I started The Rolistes Podcast (more about that in Ep 13) and what a wonderful surprise to receive, at such time, an email from Monte Cook Games suggesting an episode with their podcast savvy co-founder. Unlike what I usually do, I didn't ask Monte Cook many questions about his first experience in tabletop... Continue reading An Evening With Monte Cook & Other RPG Memories
