I heard Aaron Grando drop the term "pretotypes" on Leader Generation this morning and had to hit pause. Three minutes in, I realized I'd been vibe coding for months without knowing there was a name for it. But pretotypes? That's when I knew I had to get him on the show immediately. We're talking about taking your stream-of-consciousness ideas and building working drafts before you've even figured out what you want. For business owners doing $0.5 to 10 million a year, this isn't just another tech trend—it's the shift that stops you from waiting weeks for simple prototypes. Aaron's VP of Creative Innovation at Mod Op, and in this spontaneous follow-up to his Leader Generation episode, we dig into what vibe coding actually means for your bottom line and why small teams are suddenly punching way above their weight class. Action items to consider that tie to this episode: Immediate (This Week) Identify your development bottlenecks - Where are you currently waiting on programmers or outsourced developers? Try a simple test - Pick one small coding need and experiment with ChatGPT or Claude Map your current process - Document how long it takes to go from idea to working prototype Set prompt boundaries - Practice asking AI for logical, non-emotional responses Short-term (Next 30 Days) Assess team capabilities - Identify who on your team has enough coding background to effectively prompt AI tools Start with pretotypes - Use AI to visualize one business idea before investing in full development Test platform limitations - Use AI to check if your ideas are feasible within your current tech stack Calculate current costs - Figure out what you're spending on development delays and outsourcing Medium-term (Next 90 Days) Build AI into your process - Make vibe coding part of your standard ideation workflow Train your team - Get key team members comfortable with AI coding tools Measure time savings - Track how much faster you can go from idea to testable concept Expand use cases - Beyond coding, use AI for project planning, gap analysis, and cross-industry perspectives Strategic (Next 6-12 Months) Evaluate in-house vs. outsourcing - Determine if AI tools change your staffing strategy Invest in the right tools - Move beyond free ChatGPT to specialized coding tools if volume justifies it Create AI-enabled processes - Build systems that let AI agents handle routine business tasks Develop competitive advantage - Use speed-to-market improvements to outmaneuver slower competitors Key Questions to Ask Yourself Before listening: How long does it currently take us to go from business idea to working prototype? What development tasks are we avoiding because they seem too time-intensive? After listening: What's the first idea I've been putting off that I could pretotype this week? Who on my team could become our "conductor" for AI-assisted development? What would it mean for our business if we could cut development time by 75%? Resources Mentioned Tools: ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor (coding-specific AI) Concept: Pretotypes (pre-prototype visualization) Original episode: Leader Generation Podcast - "Vibe Coding" episode with Aaron Grando Here is the episode on Leader Generation.   About Guest Aaron Grando: Aaron Grando, VP, Creative Innovation on Mod Op's Innovation team, is a seasoned technologist with over 15 years of experience at creative agencies. Men tiderne skiftede hos id Software. Well folks its finally happening, a Mafia game set in Sicily at the turn of the 20th Century! I am very excited! But that wasn't the only news out of Gamescom this week, another Bethesda title is going multiplatform, old franchises are returning, and new adaptations are unexpectedly coming! Also, don't go after actors for roles they play, they aren't really those characters! Meanwhile, Deadpool & Wolverine continues to break records, Indiana Jones's hat sells for over $600k, and The Acolyte is sent packing. Nic Cage, now here's a guy, will be playing John Madden, and forget the chicken sandwich war, Chick-fil-a is jumping into the streaming wars.

fWotD Episode 2565: Doom (2016 video game) Welcome to featured Wiki of the Day where we read the summary of the featured Wikipedia article every day.The featured article for Monday, 13 May 2024 is Doom (2016 video game).Doom is a 2016 first-person shooter video game developed by id Software and published by Bethesda Softworks. The game is the first major installment in the Doom series since 2004's Doom 3 and was a reboot of the franchise. It was released for PlayStation 4, Windows, and Xbox One in May 2016. A port for Nintendo Switch was co-developed with Panic Button and released in November 2017, and a version for Google Stadia was released in August 2020. Players take the role of an unnamed space marine, known as the "Doom Slayer", as he battles demonic forces within an energy-mining facility on Mars and in Hell.Doom was announced as Doom 4 in 2008, and that version underwent an extensive development cycle with different builds and designs before the game was restarted in 2011 and revealed as simply Doom in 2014. It was tested by customers who pre-ordered the 2014 MachineGames game Wolfenstein: The New Order and the general public. Mick Gordon composed the music, with contributions by Richard Devine. The game also has an online multiplayer component and a level editor known as "SnapMap", co-developed with Certain Affinity and Escalation Studios respectively.Doom was well received by critics and players. The single-player campaign, graphics, soundtrack, and gameplay received considerable praise, whereas the multiplayer mode drew significant criticism. It was the second best-selling video game in North America and the UK in the week of its release and sold over 500,000 copies for PCs by the end of May 2016. A sequel, Doom Eternal, was released in March 2020.This recording reflects the Wikipedia text as of 05:56 UTC on Friday, 17 May 2024.For the full current version of the article, see Doom (2016 video game) on Wikipedia. This podcast uses content from Wikipedia under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License.Visit our archives at wikioftheday.com and subscribe to stay updated on new episodes.Follow us on Mastodon at @wikioftheday@masto.ai.Also check out Curmudgeon's Corner, a current events podcast.Until next time, I'm Joey Standard.

Also how did we kill cable, only for it to come back. Plus Nintendo still doesn't want to talk about the Switch 2. Also the Office is coming back, so of course that's what we get in the hellscape of 2024. But I swear its a fun episode...come and take a listen.

Fallout is a media franchise of post-apocalyptic role-playing video games—and later action role-playing games—created by Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarsky,[1][2] at Interplay Entertainment. The series is set during the 21st, 22nd, and 23rd centuries, and its atomicpunk retrofuturistic setting and art work are influenced by the post-war culture of 1950s United States, with its combination of hope for the promises of technology and the lurking fear of nuclear annihilation. A forerunner of Fallout is Wasteland, a 1988 game developed by Interplay Productions to which the series is regarded as a spiritual successor. The series' first title, Fallout, was developed by Black Isle Studios and released in 1997, and its sequel, Fallout 2, the following year. With the tactical role-playing game Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel, development was handed to Micro Forté and 14 Degrees East. In 2004, Interplay closed Black Isle Studios,[3] and continued to produce Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel, an action game with role-playing elements for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox, without Black Isle Studios. Fallout 3, the third entry in the main series, was released in 2008 by Bethesda Softworks, and was followed by Fallout: New Vegas, developed by Obsidian Entertainment. Fallout 4 was released in 2015, and Fallout 76 released on November 14, 2018. Bethesda Softworks owns the rights to the Fallout intellectual property.[4] After acquiring it, Bethesda licensed the rights to make a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) version of Fallout to Interplay. The MMORPG got as far as beta stage under Interplay,[5] but a lengthy legal dispute between Bethesda Softworks and Interplay halted the development of the game and led to its eventual cancellation, as Bethesda claimed in court that Interplay had not met the terms and conditions of the licensing contract. The case was settled in early 2012.[6]

Starfield PS5 Port Is Coming

New reports and claims that a Starfield PS5 port is coming along with other games. Starfield coming to PS5 is something I reported on back in January, and now other sources seem to be hearing the same thing. More than that, even more Xbox games coming to PlayStation will also be a reality sooner than later. I continue to wonder how Xbox exclusive games will look going forward along with an Xbox new console or the "Xbox Next" in the future. Will it be announced at a PlayStation State of Play? Or what about this Phil Spencer business meeting next week to clarify the future of Xbox? Starfield is a 2023 action role-playing game developed by Bethesda Game Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks. In the game, the player character joins a group of space explorers who must venture to various corners of the galaxy to acquire mysterious artifacts. Is Starfield coming to PS5 in the future? The recent rumors about Xbox games coming to PlayStation is leading to a lot of speculation. And the upcoming huge Starfield patch could be related along with the Starfield DLC Shattered Space in 2024. I have also heard from more sources about this. My biggest question is how would PlayStation handle Xbox first party games coming to their platform? With the upcoming Xbox Developer Direct and rumors about a PlayStation State of Play, will we hear something anytime soon? And how? A Starfield PS5 announcement would be shocking. Looking at Starfield in 2024 and the plans in the latest Bethesda blog shows some promise. We also have confirmation about Starfield DLC Shattered Space as well. There will be official Starfield mods support along with updates to ship building. My experience with Starfield gameplay has me doubtful it can have a Cyberpunk 2077 comeback or a No Man's Sky moment. Especially if you look at the Starfield review score average on Steam and Xbox. There is also the question about the Xbox Series X vs Series S on the question of performance and 60fps in the future. A recent interview with Skyrim's lead designer on Starfield's origins and Bethesda's evolution. My Starfield review hasn't changed much since my latest experience with Starfield gameplay. Bruce Nesmith sat down with MinnMax and had a lot of insight into Starfield and the Elder Scrolls 6. The interview also touched on Fallout 76 and why it released in the state that it did. I think the interview touches on more than why the Elder Scrolls 6 trailer released, but also into what the Elder Scrolls VI will look like as a game. Starfield is an upcoming action role-playing game developed by Bethesda Game Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks. It was announced during Bethesda's E3 presentation in 2018. The game takes place in a space-themed setting, and is the first new intellectual property developed by Bethesda in 29 years. Starfield is the first new universe in over 25 years from Bethesda Game Studios, the award-winning creators of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Fallout 4. The latest Starfield vs Cyberpunk 2077 comparison has me saying that Bethesda can learn from the Phantom Liberty DLC. I have tried both Starfield gameplay and Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty gameplay recently and I think they both get things right and wrong. And my Starfield review now sees what the game learn from the Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 update and DLC. Starfield is an action role-playing game developed by Bethesda Game Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks. It was announced during Bethesda's E3 presentation in 2018. The game takes place in a space-themed setting, and is the first new intellectual property developed by Bethesda in 25 years. Phantom Liberty is an action packed, spy-thriller expansion to Cyberpunk 2077, offering a complex story, a new district to discover, a powerful new skill tree, fresh gigs and side quests, new weapons and items, and infinitely replayable open world activities. Todd Andrew Howard was born in 1970 in Lower Macungie Township, Pennsylvania, to Ronald (Ron) and Priscilla Howard. His elder brother, Jeffrey Mark (Jeff) Howard, was later the director of creative affairs for Disney, where he oversaw the production of Bambi II. He developed an interest in computers, particularly video games, at a very young age. Howard considers the 1980s role-playing video games Wizardry and Ultima III: Exodus to be inspirations for his future games.Bethesda Softworks eventually recruited Howard in 1994 as a producer. His first game development credit for Bethesda was as the producer and designer of The Terminator: Future Shock (1995), followed by work as a designer on Skynet and The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall, both released in 1996. He was project leader for the first time on The Elder Scrolls Adventures: Redguard, released in 1998.
