We're trying something new this week! In this episode, I'm breaking down the astrology from Wednesday the 25th to Tuesday October 1st, transit-by-transit. We've got Mercury Opposite Neptune casting a veil of mental fog over the week, but thankfully, Mercury trine Pluto brings intuitive insight and psychic-level tracking skills. We finish the weekend with a burst of clarity and illuminating dialogue with Mercury conjunct the Sun on Monday the 30th, and if you have to deal with a Saturnine dilemma, the Mars trine to Saturn on the same date supports you. We begin the new month on October 1st with a Dark Moon in Virgo, the perfect lunar moment for a power purge to prep us for next week's solar eclipse in relationship-oriented Libra.

In this episode of the Christ in Classics podcast, Devin Wilkins and Colton Moore discuss the last book in the Narnia series, The Last Battle by C.S. Lewis. They explore the themes of truth, deception, and the battle for belief. The book begins with the characters Shift and Puzzle deceiving the Narnians by pretending that Puzzle is Aslan. The Narnians are confused and conflicted as they try to discern the truth. The conversation explores the significance of syncretism and the role of Saturnine themes in the story, which point to hope and the transformative power of penitent sorrow and contemplative insight. The episode concludes with a discussion on hope and the portrayal of the new heavens and new earth in the book. ***GlossaHouse resources are available at our website! - https://glossahouse.com/ ✏️ ***Sign up for classes with GlossaHouse U - https://glossahouse.com/pages/classes

This is it! The one that everyone has been waiting for, the day the siege changed forever. For a podcast that traffics in all things wild and mind-expanding, the subject of our 107th episode makes everything else feel stone-cold sober by comparison. The fifth album by Sweden's Tiamat, A Deeper Kind of Slumber, luxuriates in the wan, reclined possibilities of Leary biscuits and Psilocybin dreams. This episode paddles along the hallucinatory waters of Tiamat's final masterpiece and resolves itself to the album's irreconcilable mysteries. Merriam-Webster's Word of the Day for June 9, 2023 is: saturnine SAT-er-nyne adjective Saturnine is a literary word that typically describes people who are glum and grumpy, or things that suggest or express gloom. It can also mean “slow to act or change.” // A walk in the sunshine can improve your mood significantly, raising the spirits of even the most saturnine among us. See the entry > Examples: “The canvases that surround you at the Rothko Chapel here can at first seem merely dark. Entering the space after nightfall on Saturday, the interior dimly lit, I struggled to see much of anything in them at all. But even in that calm gloom, my eyes slowly acclimated to the 14 grandly saturnine paintings, made by Mark Rothko in the late 1960s. Shadowy rectangles began to emerge, floating over shadow.” — Zachary Woolfe, The New York Times, 21 Feb. 2022 Did you know? Saturnine is far—even astronomically far—from the cheeriest of words. It has a long history of describing the glum and grouchy among us, and comes ultimately from Sāturnus, name of the Roman god of agriculture, who was often depicted as a bent old man with a stern, sluggish, and sullen nature. Saturn, the ringed gas giant that is one of five planets visible to the naked eye, is of course the namesake of Sāturnus, and Saturn does indeed seem to dawdle; it requires over 29 of our Earth years to orbit the sun. The ancient Romans (like some astrologists today) believed those who are born when Saturn is rising in the sky may tend toward being a Gloomy Gus or Debbie Downer. We don't know A. A. Milne's take on the influence of Saturn, but his gloomy, cynical gray donkey Eeyore is famously saturnine, a fact Eeyore himself would surely stoically accept as true if it were pointed out to him.
Episode 045: Spread your worthiness wide and lap up the lushery. In this episode, we sink into Taurus energy, answer a listener Q about how to hold ourselves in humanness, find familiarity in the Hierophant's inherent resources, and more. Our May convo covers trusting in empty-full cycles, regenerative potency, releasing attachment to everlasting attainment, self-worth that shifts with the seasons of our lives, magnetic attraction, and nurturing what's most natural. Inside Your Cosmic Snack Pack: Taurus Check In: We discuss how this ample, fruit-filled archetype is showing up in our astrology practices right now, with an exploration of the width and absorption of the fixed signs, softening mental spins and settling into the body, cultivating steadiness, and allowing the world to respond to and change around us. Burning Birth Chart Q: A Taurus Sun/Pisces Moon/Virgo Rising listener is emerging on the other side of enormous loss and seeks self-trust in the face of uncertainty. We discuss the at-home humanness of the earth signs, soothing Saturnine self-critique, private processes and healing contexts in the water houses, equilibrating the Virgo-Pisces axis, Pluto aspects and control, and the IC's creative incubations. Tarot Touchstone: A card pull to support the season, where the Hierophant steps forward to remind us of both the muscle memories that want massaging and the bone-deep knowings that can fuel our foundation. In this episode, we talk about one of our absolute favorite bands, Tears For Fears, and more specifically, their career-changing feminist anthem, "Woman in Chains," which introduced the world (but not Todd's dad!) to the stunning Oleta Adams. It also featured the drumming talents of both Manu Katché--already famous for playing with Peter Gabriel--and the inimitable Phil Collins. Oh yeah. . .and it totally featured a Fairlight synthesizer, too, because of COURSE it would, and if you're a regular listener of this podcast, you're already well aware of it. Our movie this time is the clever, thorny, and ultimately problematic 1988 dark comedy "Heathers," starring Winona Ryder and Christian Slater, which could only have been made in the era before suicides and school shootings were all-too-common occurrences in this country. You've been warned; both subjects are prominent story arcs in the movie. Want to hear us discuss a song, band, or movie from the 80's and beyond? Have a comment or a question? Nearly everything we interact with seems to be an inverted or distorted version of an elusive ‘truth'. Even the number 11, or dates such as 11/11, are seen as positive when they have darker meaning. Such afeeling is confirmed by the energetic signature of the Saturn spirit. But this spirit of chaos is a necessary evil which brings about the four corners of our world and the matter of our bodies for spirit to inhabit. It is the temptation of Lucifer that draws us into the seven deadly sins of excess, represented by the number 11. If we can overcome this excess and lift off the weight and chaos of Saturn then a spiritual transformation can occur. When we leave our stagnate bodily and mental state we create friction, warmth, and light. Upon realizing our immortality as non-physical beings a spark of consciousness is reborn, or what we call the second coming or the second birth, i.e. being born again. This is the recognition of an ability to commune with God. Thus, we become a son of God, both man and woman, since the ‘son' is truly an illuminated ‘sun' within the universal mind of God. As Jesus said “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” Likewise, Isis, the universal mother and womb, says: I, Isis Am All That Has Been, That Is Or Shall Be; No Mortal Man Hath Ever Me Unveiled.” The veil can be more easily lifted during the equinoxes and solstices, and during times such as 11/11. But such rebirth can be attained internally by focusing on the bindi, RA eye, ureas, third eye, or middle pathway of Christ and Buddha - the place between the Temple of the head, which contains the seven openings of creation.
