This week everyone is back and so the conversation runs off track even more than normal! Of course we talk about the League Championship Series and our joy of the Dodgers being eliminated while making our picks for the World Series. We are posting now so that you could not use our information as a tool to place any wagers and then blame us for being wrong. We discuss the week that was in the NFL, including the hit on KC's QB (Mike's reaction is classic!) and poke a little bit at the Seattle NHL team. There are other random things, which you knew were going to be there, so make sure you pay attention! Mixology with Mike is back and the outcome is really interesting. In this episode I discuss the MLB scrimmages and opening night. DC Sports is a roller coaster right now. Some encouragement, some disappointment, some laughter (The Washington football team). Chiefs need to slow down on repeat talk. The Seattle NHL team name is fire. I would like to see Roy Jones vs Mike Tyson but I'm more interested of what comes after that. The KBO standings are still pretty much the same. Outkick and Joy Taylor are great marketers. Kanye West is wyling. The hypothetical game of the episode is a presidential speech contest between Barry McCockiner the legendary twitter troll vs Kanye West. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/goat-level-podcast/support

Just our luck that we managed to record an episode right before the Seattle NHL team revealed their name! This episode is tragically devoid of tentacle jokes, but we do have plenty to say about the NHL's hotel assignments and their potential to inspire a generation of fanfic writers. Plus, we talk about the Sens' rebrand, the draft lottery, and Jeremy Roenick getting fired for being too straight and horny! This is a podcast that makes us see why we called our Podcast Complete Sports Media coverage! We invited Dale Cory an old and great friend into our studio to discuss a variety of sports. Dale has such an impressive sports media background and so I asked him to list off his roots. He will say near the end of this podcast that we could talk for hours and he is so right! This life long sports fan has been in media most of his life and we met when we were both covering the NHL and NBA. We talked about the NBA a little and reminisced about the Vancouver Grizzlies and Chicago Bulls. It was nice to remember a lot of those years that are now more than 25 years in the past. We talked a lot about baseball because today is opening day in Major League baseball. A lifelong New York Mets fan was representing his team with their jersey. We spoke about many aspects of baseball and brokedown a lot of topics. This is a sprint of 60 games instead of the normal 162 game marathon season. MLB just announced a big change to their playoff format as they are expanding their playoff pool to 16 teams. As we shifted seamlessly to talk about junior hockey there was a lot of interesting aspects that we got into. Dale provides the colour analysis for the Penticton Vees Junior A hockey team. He has covered and worked with many junior hockey teams over his career. Those teams are the lifeblood of these smaller Canadian communities and Dale is always an integral part in their exposure and success! We got into talking about the NHL and the playoffs that are about to begin. The playoff pool has been expanded to include 24 teams when normally it is 16. It is nice that the playoffs are about to begin because it is typically very excting and intense hockey. Dale does the commentating at the local race track in Penticton and he was able to tell us what kind of events that they put on there. They have been shut down because of the BC health authority and the Covid 19 pandemic. We hope that there will be more events with fans in the stands there very soon! We discussed the new Seattle NHL franchise who just released their name and uniforms the day before. The Seattle Kraken are going to start play in the 2021-22 season. There have been a lot of people disliking the name as it doesn't represent the Pacific Northwest or Seattle area. It was just nice to see another step in the process of starting a new expansion franchise. This team will immediately become a rivalry with the Vancouver Canucks because of the close proximity. We look forward to road trips to Seattle to see the Canucks beat the Kraken! We briefly discussed the recent announcement that Mike Tyson will be returning to boxing to face Roy Jones jr.. At 54 years of age this is probably an unwise thing to do for the health of these legends of the sport. We will be watching if it happens though. Thanks Dale I really appreciate your time and insight into so many topics of sports. Enjoy it everyone We gave a shout out mention to a friend of ours Michael Scott at the end of this. Michael is about to embark on a long 100 KM bike ride to raise money for MS. We at Complete Sports Media put in a donation and we hope that some of you can do the same.
