The National Sea Rescue Institute - NSRI - is appealing to people using the coastline THIS WEEKEND to be cautious as the full moon Spring tide peaks. The Institute says the daily 2 high tides will be higher than normal and the daily 2 low tides will be lower than normal from this weekend and into the new week. Spring tides may cause stronger than normal sea currents posing a potential hazard to bathers around the coastline especially during the outgoing tide. NSRI spokesperson Craig Lambinon has warned bathers, boaters, paddlers, sailors, shoreline anglers and coastal hikers to be cautious...

Produced by Wayne Hall, Joseph Cottrell, Jeffrey Crecelius and Ken Fuller As always, it was a delight to welcome Yes guitarist Steve Howe back onto the show to talk about his new solo album, Guitarscape. It was a fun discussion during which Mark and I enjoyed asking some searching questions about the new record. Of course, we also slipped in a few questions about Yes and Tales from Topographic Oceans! Steve and Dylan Howe: Guitarscape is a little different to other Steve Howe solo albums and I'm sure you will enjoy it when it is released in September. What' did Igor bring to the Yes keyboard role's different about this Steve Howe solo album? How was it put together? Who else worked on it? Let us know if you agree with us! 16th July 2024: Guitarist Steve Howe releases his new solo album Guitarscape on 27th September on his own HoweSound label. The album will be available on CD, vinyl and digital downloads, including Dolby Atmos. Pre-order the album here: https://lnk.to/hkKdov Guitarscape marks a new chapter for the YES and ASIA legend as he presents, what amounts to, a guitar masterclass. “What I'm doing,” said Steve, “is focusing on what I do well and what I love to do.” Guitarscape features 14 new instrumental tracks in a host of musical styles, from rock through to acoustic and classical, each bearing that unmistakable Steve Howe sound. Steve plays acoustic, electric, steel and bass guitars along with keyboards and is joined by his son Dylan on drums. Steve has written all of the tracks and produced the album. “This album has given me the opportunity to do something different,” says Steve. “I bought a Novation Summit keyboard and found that it had a wealth of inspiring sounds. It gave me a golden opportunity to create my own keyboard structures – chordal movements and structures that I thought were a bit different. I think differently on a keyboard, I don't see the chords looking the same but then I had fun playing around with the guitar to see where that goes. “I've utilised most of the colours, as I like to I think of my styles, and I'm always pleased when I hear them running through and it moves from a steel, maybe, to a Spanish guitar. Because it's a different sort of album, I'm not using terribly conventional chord sequences but things that give me a fresh feeling and opportunities to improvise and stretch out as well as be melodic and make this a nice tuneful experience. “I began feeding the tracks to Dylan. We get on great and he seems to know what to play around my guitar, it's almost instinctive. Dylan and I fit together really beautifully. We've had the chance to do this together, so it's wonderful. “The bass parts and the keyboards are pretty interesting, everything had to be interesting but also work together. I like doing things that are super fresh and this album says what I am today.” Steve Howe - Guitarscape is released by HoweSound on 27th September 2024. Guitarscape - Track Listing 1. The NSRI and the emergency services are appealing to coastal water uses to be cautious during this new moon Spring tide phase around the coast. This new moon Spring tide peaks on Saturday 6 July - just after midnight. The effect that Spring tide has on the coast – causing the 2 daily high tides to be higher than normal and the 2 daily low tides to be lower than normal, – will be strongest today and over the remainder of this weekend and then gradually declining in intensity towards the middle and towards the end of next week.Craig Lambinon, NSRI spokesperson explains more See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
With school holidays now in full swing, the NSRI and the emergency services are appealing to coastal water uses to be cautious during this full moon Spring tide phase and the affect Spring tide has around the coast. Why? Well because for those around the coastlines such as bathers, boaters, paddlers, sailors, shoreline anglers and coastal hikers, the full moon Spring tide causes the daily 2 high tides to be higher than normal and the daily 2 low tides to be lower than normal. What's more, this Spring tide peaks this weekend – on Saturday 22 June. North Carolinas Oyster aquaculture industry is still in its enfancy, although rapidly expanding. This emerging shellfish farming industry has rapdily increased in size in upwards of 600% in some areas of our state such as Pender County within a very short amount of time. This growth has caught the attention of many stakeholders in the area that share these public trust marine reasources, including many local fishing guides. Nearly 30 people spoke Wednesday night Januray 31 during a North Carolina Division of Marine Fisheries-hosted public hearing on shellfish lease applications of two (Pender Co) area oyster farming companies. "The overwhelming consesus from those who packed a room in the Surf City Municipal Complex was, while they support local Shellfish farming efforts, more leases will infringe upon popular fishing spots, impeded boating and kayaking access, and affect the viewshed of waterfront properties near the farms." " and most said they are specifically against the water column lease applications of N.Sea. Oyster Co, and Pirate Oysters LLC, raising concerns about the floating equipment used for this type of shellfish farming" (Opponents say Pender shellfish leases will crowd waters | Coastal Review) Joining us on todays episode of "Fisheries Gone Wild" we have Captain Ray Britian of Springtide guide Service (Topsail Island) and Captian Rennie Clark of Tournament Trail Charters (Wilmington). Both of these guys share a passion for fishing, conservation and want to see a healthy sustanable fishery for years to come. Listen in as they discuss the effects these water column oyster leases will have on the local community and the impact that can have on all stakeholders ability to access our public trust fisheries resources. There is a lot to unpack in this episode and both captain Ray and Rennie to a great job explaining the ins and outs of the situiation going on right in their backyard. Tight lines!

Today my conversation is with Dr. Josh Packard, Executive Director of the Springtide Research Institute. Through their extensive research (perhaps the largest data set on the planet) on the spiritual lives of young folks, Springtide and Dr. Packard discovered some mind-blowing things. You might think you know about the spirituality of the next generation (13-25 year olds), but you're probably wrong. The "decline narrative" is way too simplistic. Yes, you might see less young people attending church...but that doesn't mean they're out on Jesus. And it doesn't mean they're going to come to us for help. Since the next generation is less likely to seek out traditional church attendance (they don't trust institutions or institutional leaders), it's important we go to them. Let's look beyond the assumptions and meet them where they are. But they don't need more Fun Uncles...Reddit is better for that. She had COVID-19 in February 2022, she recovered but she did say that covid leaves 'one feeling very tired and exhausted'. During the Platinum Jubilee celebrations, The Queen pulled out of some of the events due to “discomfort”. 1 The day she passes was code-named D-Day, and every day after that until she is taken to her last resting place. 2, 3 The second Her Majesty The Queen draws her last breath, Prince Charles of Wales becomes King. The British prime Minister is announced of her demise, he will hear the phrase “London Bridge is down”. From the Foreign Office's Global Response Centre, in an undisclosed location in London, the news will go out to the 15 governments outside the UK where the Queen is also the head of state, and the 36 other nations of the Commonwealth. 4 The BBC, will activate RATS the “radio alert transmission system”, a cols war system that is used only in case of national emergencies or the monarch's death. On D Day +1, the proclamation of King Charles will take place – that is part of operation SPRING TIDE. His coronation will most likely happen about a year later though. The queen will lie in state at the Palace of Westminster for three days, in an operation codenamed FEATHER. D-Day +9 is the actual day of the funeral, and everything will be closed in the UK - including the stock market – as this will be a day of national mourning. The nation will be silent. The state funeral itself will be held at Westminster Abbey. After the state funeral at Westminster Abbey, the queen's body will be brought home to Windsor Castle outside of London, where many members of the royal family over the centuries have been buried at St. George's Chapel. Once Charles is king, the line of succession will change. William will move up and take the position of heir apparent. 1. NBC News. Queen To Skip Jubilee Event After Feeling “Discomfort”. Youtube. The Covid-19 pandemic disrupted nearly every aspect of our lives, and our religious practices were no exception. How this period of uncertainty affected the spiritual lives of young people is the subject Springtide Research Institute's latest report, “The State of Religion & Young People 2021.” We talk with Springtide's executive director, Dr. Josh Packard, about why young people have lost faith in the church and its leaders—and what older Catholics need to do to meet Gen-Z where they're at. In Signs of the Times, producer Sebastian Gomes joins Ashley as a guest host this week to discuss the U.S. bishops' decision to cease the domestic operations of Catholic News Service. The ARTH value coin has completed the genesis of ARTH 2.0. ARTH is a novel concept trying to create an inflation-proof stablecoin. So far ARTH has not succeeded to realize this vision through two tries already. Is third time a charm? ARTH 2.0 tries to build on the past failures of itself and other algorithmic stablecoins, and create an overcollateralized stablecoin with a unique peg which is 80% fiat, 15% gold, and 5% Bitcoin. How does $ARTH work? What is its value proposition? What are $ARTHX and $MAHA? Listen to this episode in order to find out! After doing some research, I decided to use Koinly for my taxes. Binance Smart Chain has become the haven of DeFi innovation. This week we cover three innovative projects offering new mechanisms to increase yields and provide more utility. AutoFarm has become my go to place to compare yields and stake. AutoFarm provides automatic compounding on Pancakeswap, Bakeryswap, Belt.fi, MDX, and many more, while adding their own $AUTO rewards. Ellipsis is an authorized Curve-like project on BSC, providing high-liquidity swap on stablecoins. Ellipsis also has a unique lock-in mechanism and rewards that allows it to offer sustainable (so-far) high yields. Belt.fi offers single-asset vaults by lending your coins across multiple other project, automatically balancing and switching between projects. In this episode Micah talks with sociologist Dr. Josh Packard, executive director of the Springtide Research Institute. They discuss the Springtide's studies and findings about young people and their religious views and practices, what this might mean for professors and clergy who work with them, and how the social sciences can contribute to what seems like an increasing skepticism about reliable information and news. If you've wondered about the commonalities and differences between the various generations—boomers, Gen X, Millennials, Gen Z—this conversation will shed some needed light.
Closing and launchpad series (for now) is something a little different dealing with private sales. Many people (including me until a couple-of-months ago) think that private sales are only open to VCs, whales, and individuals connected to the project. Not so. In this episode we discuss how everybody could participate in private sales via CSP DAO and similar projects. After doing some research, I decided to use Koinly for my taxes. We all love to hate taxes, but we all have to deal with them. As if Crypto taxes were not challenging enough, DeFi offers many additional hurdles. Launching a new crypto project has taken many forms over the years. It started with Bitcoin forks; followed by the Initial Coin Offerings (ICOs) of 2017 and 2018; and then Initial Exchange Offerings (IEOs), which were followed by some infamous self-launches with Bounce and others, many resulting in rug pulls. Now the hottest trends is Initial DEX Offerings (IDOs); which leverage smart contracts and DeFi to offer a more fair, cost effective, and transparent launch. In Episode 17 we covered TrustSwap ($SWAP), one of the pioneers of IDOs. In this second installment we cover newer launchpads which cater to smaller, quicker, but often not-less interesting offerings.
