Written and directed by Steven E. de Souza, Street Fighter is the action film based on the video game series of the same name produced by Capcon. Luke and Jae select their fighters and return to 1994 to re-live the experience that is the first Street Fighter movie - the second of which was also released the same year - Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie. A one shot comic book adaptation of the live-action film, titled Street Fighter: The Battle for Shadaloo, was published by DC Comics in 1995. Gen. Bison (Raul Julia), the evil dictator of Shadaloo, captures a busload of relief workers and holds them for ransom. Col. Guile (Jean-Claude Van Damme) leads an international strike force to invade Shadaloo and rescue the hostages. Along the way, Guile recruits Chun-Li (Ming-Na Wen), a reporter and martial-arts expert whose father was killed by Bison years ago, two young con men (Damian Chapa, Byron Mann) and a sumo wrestler (Peter Navy Tuiasosopo).

Based on the genre-defining game of the same name, Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie is here to bring us back to the '90s. The criminal organization Shadowloo, led by the domineering M. Bison, is abducting and brainwashing powerful fighters from across the globe. Bison intends to take over the world using these fighters as his assassins. Shadowloo sets its sights on the wandering martial artist Ryu. Unable to locate the fighter directly, M. Bison decides to target Ryu's friend Ken Masters instead. Meanwhile, Interpol agent Chun-Li and Air Force Major Guile team-up to bring Shadowloo down. Ryu and his allies face an ultimatum: submit to Bison's will or take the fight to the dictator himself. Otaku Movie Anatomy hosts review Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie! Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie is a 1994 animated film adaptation of the Street Fighter II fighting games written by Kenichi Imai, directed by Gisaburō Sugii and animated by Group TAC. Welcome to another episode of the Failed Critics Podcast. As promised, Steve Norman is back in the host's chair this week as the award winning duo of Jack and Phil from Wikishuffle depart to be replaced by Matt Lambourne from the award winning video-game podcast Retro Asylum, such is the quality of guest on our shows these days! As ever, they are both joined by Owen Hughes for this week's triple bill episode, where each member of the team pick three films made for one million dollars or less in a bid to prove that the quality of a movie is not always dependent on its budget. Before all of that, the guys also take a look at the Primetime Emmy Award winners announced this past weekend and indulge themselves with the final round of our ongoing quiz - which, for once, isn't as shambolic as you might expect! There's also time for: Steve to tackle Everest, starring Jason Clarke, Jake Gyllenhaal and Josh Brolin amongst others; Matt blows the dust out of his Street Fighter II: The Animated Movie cartridge;...
