Slow Ride Buffalo's season is just getting underway with their 2nd ride of the season being held tonight.
– ROGER EARL –Celebrating 50 years of Foghat in 2021, Roger Earl is still ferociously banging away! Born in London, England (Hampton Court & raised in Hounslow) in 1946 to a musical family where his father played piano at home and local pubs and there was always music in the house. Although he wanted to play piano, his older brother Colin Earl (keyboard player with the band Mungo Jerry of ‘In the Summertime' fame) won that right. Roger began to play drums at the age of 12, took lessons for two years, and played with local bands around London while working as a commercial artist. He had a measure of success before auditioning for and joining the British Blues band Savoy Brown at age 20, with whom he recorded 5 albums (1967-1970) and toured the U.S. extensively. In 1970, Roger and Lonesome Dave Peverett decided to leave Savoy Brown to form Foghat. They enlisted former Savoy bass player Tony Stevens and Slide guitarist Rod Price and the rest has been rock n' roll history.Moving from England to the North Shore of Long Island in 1973, the band settled around the Port Jefferson area since their manager lived there. Roger loved the area and being an avid fisherman, especially enjoyed the fishing.During the 70's Foghat had a series of hit records such as “I Just Want to Make Love to You”, “Fool for the City”, “Slow Ride”, “Stone Blue”, “Drivin' Wheel”, “Third Time Lucky” and more. They were known as the hardest working band in Rock n' Roll since they toured 10 out of 12 months during this period.FOGHAT has a new album out called SONIC MOJO! https://foghat.comhttps://foghat.com/tour

"But when I became a man, I put away childish things." - 1 Corinthians 13:11 Richard Linklater's breakthrough film is a cultural touchstone not for the 1970s, but how people who grew up in the 1970s remembered the 1970s in the 1990s. It's a little bit preservationist and a little bit precious, but it's remembered as a fun portrait of teenagehood post-Summer of Love and pre-Reagan – whatever that was like. In 1971, the English rock band Foghat formed in London, quickly becoming known for its use of electric slide guitar and it's hard rocking blues hits. Over the last 51 years, the band has attained eight gold records, one platinum record and one double platinum record for some of the greatest anthems in classic rock. Roger Earl is one of the original founding members, and the only one to still rock on the drums and tour with the band. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
It's been 11 years since Kenny Wayne Shepherd filmed his previous Rig Rundown. PG's John Bohlinger caught up with the blues-rocker before his recent sold-out show at Nashville's historic Ryman Auditorium to hear some killer playing and see some untouchable—by anyone but Kenny and his tech—gear. The tour stop was supporting the December 2022 release of Trouble Is … 25, a re-recording of his 1997 breakthrough album, which had four top 10 hits when it was originally issued: “Slow Ride,” “Somehow, Somewhere, Someway,” “Everything is Broken,” and “Blue on Black.” There have been seven other studio recordings since then, and while he's still mostly a Strat player, some other instruments have joined his armada, too. And Dumbles … he has lots of Dumbles.Brought to you by D'Addario XS Strings.

July 1, 2022 A summer day. A summer way. Without these books of spilled ink, I honestly would have no memory of summers passed. Only one consistently jumps into play on any lazy day. The summer of 78. The wild teenagers from the south side of Billings, Montana near Optimist Park. Rob, Neal, Ronae, Kelly, Susan and Bart. These were the inspiration and influence to my published book Halloween 78. The events of the summer were every bit a young adult adventure and nightmare. We ran all over Billings by day and sat in circles listening to loud Rock music while guzzling cheap beer. Slow Ride from Fog Hat and some new band called Van Halen. All on 8-track tape. Oh the memories of the summer of 78! But not from any other year. Being a daily writer 28 summer seasons strong has made me feel lazy by way of exercising my memories. Oh the moments are events are still very much alive. On the pages. To which I can instantly visit but it's not as deep into my soul like that of the summer of 78.

http://www.attractionchecklist.com It's time to head out on our own real life safari adventure as we visit Disney's Animal Kingdom to ride Kilimanjaro Safaris on this episode of Attraction Checklist. Attraction audio recorded on October 27, 2016. TRANSCRIPT: Welcome to Attraction Checklist. This episode we venture to Disney's Animal Kingdom to ride the ever popular, Kilimanjaro Safaris. The Animal Kingdom guide map describes this attraction saying, “Take a safari ride through the lush African savannah to search for lions, elephants, giraffes and more.” There are no age or height requirements for this attraction and the Thrill Level describes it as a Slow Ride. Before we board our jeep, here are five fast facts about Kilimanjaro Safaris. 1. Kilimanjaro Safaris opened with Animal Kingdom on April 22, 1998. 2. For many years the ride featured a scripted storyline about poachers hunting a mother and baby elephant. In early cast previews, an animatronic of the slaughtered mother elephant was visible at the end of the attraction to drive home how harmful poachers are. This animatronic was removed before the park opened as the scene received many complaints. 3. The ride features close to thirty different species of animals, including crocodiles, warthogs, flamingos, giraffes and lions. 4. The flamingo island seen during the attraction is a giant hidden Mickey. 5. Between each of the animal's ecosystems are chains and bars that prevent the animals from venturing between sections. Now let's go ride Kilimanjaro Safaris. Joining me today is my friend Eve Cunning and after we ride we'll give you our thoughts not his attraction. This is a binaural recording so if you have headphones put them on now as we ride Kilimanjaro Safaris and Disney's Animal Kingdom!
