So pleased for Mozza! At least he and Brunt can say they've both led their now beloved Baggies to a victory! Super Bob next up for Head Coach?
Back in the top flight for the first time since 1986, Albion were proud as punch to be pitting their whits against the big boys once more and showed it with superb victories at Manchester City and West Ham United. Despite ultimately being relegated, this strong spirited Megson team once again gave it everything they'd got in their first ever season in the Premiership. Another Welsh Wizard is born (see what I did AJ!) Super Bob's final hurrah and so much more as we were voted the best supporters in the country for that campaign. Sit back and listen to me take you through another season amongst the top dogs in English football.

Actor, writer, and comedian Brett Goldstein has made, by his own admission, “loads of stuff that no one's watched.” As he explains to Backstage, breakthrough successes in the biz are always the result of unseen projects, rejections, and persistent hard work. Now that his latest, “Ted Lasso,” is an Emmy-dominating hit, Brett is reminding himself of what truly matters and passing that onto his fellow artists. “The fame and success and awards should never be the aim. The aim should be: Are you enjoying the making of the thing?” Brett got his start in fringe theater shows and stand-up stages in his native England, starring on “Derek,” “Hoff the Record,” and “Adult Life Skills,” for which he won a British Independent Film Award. He created shorts that became the film “SuperBob,” the AMC series “Soulmates,” and more, and ended up collaborating with Catherine Tate on “Catherine Tate's Nan” and with Bill Lawrence on a pilot, the latter leading him to “Ted Lasso.” The hit Apple TV+ comedy, co-created by and starring Jason Sudeikis, hired Brett as first a writer and then as aging football captain Roy Kent, roles that have earned him a Writers Guild Award, ensemble SAG Award nomination, and now Primetime Emmy nod. Katie BryerFilm EditorInitially trained as a drama editor, first at the NFTS and later at the BBC, and started working on documentaries in 2010. She has since worked on many award-winning documentaries on subjects ranging from forced marriage to human trafficking to Everest to the moon, and in fifteen different languages. Her first feature documentary was the popular snowboarding movie, WE RIDE for Grain Media, and she went on to co-edit the Oscar-nominated VIRUNGA, directed by Orlando von Einsiedel. In 2014 she returned to her drama roots and edited the award-winning feature rom-com SUPERBOB, directed by Jon Drever and described as a 'modern romantic classic' by Ricky Gervais. In 2015 she worked with Orlando again on MOON SHOT, a series of short documentaries for J.J.Abram's company Bad Robot. In 2018, BRUCE LEE & THE OUTLAW was released, a film which not only draws on her experience of working with difficult subject matters, but also her drama background and passion for story-telling. LOOK OUT! It’s only Films To Be Buried With! Join your host Brett Goldstein as he and his guest go deep into the subject of mortality via cinema, and this week he is joined by the celebrated Empire Magazine writer CHRIS HEWITT!A surprisingly mischievous episode at that, my my… All fun and games though, as Brett and Chris get down and dirty and give you the goods on all angles of cinema and film criticism, including his way to the magazine itself, his exceedingly accurate review of Brett’s film Superbob, how the whole film industry should take a year off so we can all catch up, his awfully embarrassing made-up death scenario, his early days of film-making (described in about as high a level of self-deprecation as you can get), his emotional uncorking after some very personal and close death experiences, and how his partner does not share his love of horror films by any means. Such an enjoyable one this, so please, have fun getting to know Chris!(NOTE! Hereditary spoiler at around 41 minutes or so... LOOK OUT! It’s only Films To Be Buried With! Join your host Brett Goldstein as he and his guest go deep into the subject of mortality via cinema, and this week it’s the FILMS OF 2018 SPECIAL - not only that, the special guest is the wonderful NISH KUMAR!Yes indeed - Nish is back from the dead, fully resurrected and reanimated and ready to talk films of yesteryear with Brett, and what a selection they have to choose from… It was a tough job for sure but I’m confident you shall enjoy their selections and reasons behind the picks. The only rules are that the films are between the 1st of January and 31st of December 2018, and while this unfortunately automatically disqualified The Favourite (released 1st January 2019), the lists are VERY strong. Through their film choices you’ll also catch a glimpse of how these films affected them personally, as there were a handful of films released in 2018 which truly hit home and hacked into our emotional switchboards in all kinds of ways. Prepare to get emotional, excited, hopefully not angry, but definitely inspired to watch or rewatch these modern day classics! So - live from the very messy flat of Mr Nish Kumar (Brett’s serial killer flat was, ummm, otherwise engaged), please enjoy this thorough and skilfully picked list of cinematic greatness from 2018!DON'T FORGET! LOOK OUT! It’s only Films To Be Buried With! Join your host Brett Goldstein as he and his guest go deep into the subject of mortality via cinema, and this week he is joined by one of his good old pals and director of Superbob, Corner Boys and MUCH more, it’s JON DREVER!The self-described work-wife of Brett, having worked alongside each other for a good amount of years on all kinds of projects, Jon provides a perfect brotherly dynamic right here on Films To Be Buried With - if by brotherly we’re talking about sly digs, anger and an undercurrent of passive-aggressiveness… Just messing, of course! It’s a great one with the two, very much the family get together Christmas episode, and a wonderful opportunity to get to know Jon up close and personal, in the most intimate way - through his cinematic choices! Beginning with a letter from Jon himself, read out by Brett, to foreshadow what’s to come, the two go in on it all - their chemistry, their work together, Jon’s film commandments (take note), him not being good with horrors or teary films, and of course, the much hinted at FURIOUS ANGER of Brett in response to a pick of Jon’s. A treat in itself. We always knew that cool, calm and happy veneer would crack soon, right? PLEASE ENJOY, and a very happy Christmas to you too if you get down with such festivities. Be excellent to each other.––––– ––––– –––––LINKS FOR EPISODE 24:• JON DREVER on TWITTER!• JON on THE INTERNET!• SUPERBOB!• BRETT GOLDSTEIN on TWITTER!• BRETT GOLDSTEIN on INSTAGRAM!• 'SUPERBOB' - Brett's 2015 feature film!• 'CORNERBOYS' with BRETT & SCROOBIUS PIP!• DISTRACTION PIECES NETWORK on FACEBOOK• DISTRACTION PIECES NETWORK on INSTAGRAM See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

5 more episodes and we will be at our 40th!And look none of Spitfire's haters have been attacking her either. Know why? Because she's Lady F'N Spitfire that's why. Everything that she does, touch is protected by Karma baby Two New Bands - this week Super bob - PA, DC and more Super bob is a rock band from the Washington DC area formed under the name "bob" in 05. We have three members. Matt Santoro on vocals, Adam Smith on guitar, and Drew Recny on drums. We won't waste your time with a long-winded description of our accomplishments, or grandiose exaggerations of who we are and what we've done. To make it short and sweet we will simply say that Super bob is a hard-working, dedicated, full-time rock band that plays about 240 shows a year (actual shows, not just days on the road). We have 4 full-length records (all available on iTunes), recorded by amazing producers (Garth "GGGarth" Richardson, and Matt LaPlant), our members hold sponsorship's from companies like P.R.S., and G.H.S to name a few. Our live show is more than overblown hype, it's a fun, energetic, captivating, physical expression of music with an energy and presence beyond the words that can be written in a bio. We spread through the eastern half of the country by starting in one place, building a following, and moving to the next city. Nothing fancy, no label, no investor just hard work and dedication. We're a new sound in rock and roll, with an old-fashioned rock and roll attitude. We're familiar, yet completely different. Thank you, and we'll see you soon! -Team Super bob Fractured Spine - Finland Atmospheric death/doom metal with gothic and black metal influences. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/luciaandglynn/support
Brett Goldstein is one of the UK's best comics. Whether that be in stand up, acting or screenwriting for films he gets off his arse to make happen himself (Superbob). He's a bloody wealth of talent, annoyingly handsome, and also has the sort of soul you wish you had.In part two of what has shaped up to be the best episode to date Brett tackles the mammoth task of listing his Top 5 Last Lines in Films. Brett has done what we ask all our guests to do, and thats make it personal and to mean something. And he really has here. Its a wonderful episode where you get to really get a feel for what makes this excellent comic tick. But the first 10 mins are completely crass. So whilst Brett may have picked some absolute corkers, Chris and Stu try their best to bring it down to their toilet humour level. Also. Chris says the dumbest thing to date. And over the course of hearing about Brett's strange experiences in the world of stand up, which are at points terrifying yet admirable, we're pretty sure you will love him too. Thats if you haven't already figured that out for yourself after watching him in Derek, Hoff The Record, that rap video with Brian Gittins the boys endlessly quote.....blah blah blah yes we get it he's talented.
