Pasando al álbum negro, la banda tocó “Through The Never” seguida del tema por el cual son apodados en Sudamérica como los jinetes del Apocalipsis – “The Four Horsemen”. “Fade To Black” Iluminó la cara de la gente al escuchar la intro acústica, adentrando de manera delicada a los espectadores a los riffs distorsionados para tocar un breve set de su más reciente álbum Death Magnetic que vienen promocionando con “That Was Just Your Life” y “The End Of The Line” metiendo de intermedio de éste mencionado set a “Sad But True” para continuar con “Broken, Beat & Scared” y “The Judas Kiss”. Nuevamente las luces se apagaron y los sonidos de batalla comenzaron a escucharse, la gente gritaba emocionada “One”, la energía de la banda y la conexión con la gente era indescriptible en éste período del concierto y más aún continuando su actuación con “Master Of Puppets” y “Battery” que provocaron olas de gente con altas mareas de un lado a otro.Kirk tocó un breve solo con un tono limpio y lleno de armonía, conectándolo con la melodía introductoria de “Nothing Else Matters” y para continuar en el mismo álbum negro, “Enter Sandman” fue lo que siguió para irse a un breve encore. Como es clásico de la banda en ésta gira, regresaron con el cover “Breadfan” seguido de una de sus más veloces canciones en la historia musical de la banda que es “Whiplash” y terminar como la tan aclamada “Seek & Destroy”. • Antes de “Sad But True” James dudó y preguntó a la gente si querían escuchar algo más “heavy” puesto que no creía que la gente en Guadalajara lo fuera a soportar. Después de insistir y preguntar a los asistentes si estaban preparado para escuchar una canción más pesada y que le respondieran que sí, dijo: “Está bien, tocaremos algo más pesado pero si llegan a morir, espero se recuperen muy pronto”. • Antes de su mini-set del Death Magnetic preguntó James: “¿Tienen el álbum…?” y fue interrumpido inmediatamente por la gente con un unísono: “Yeah!” al cual se río el vocalista de la banda burlándose que él todavía no había terminado de decir a qué álbum se refería. Posteriormente preguntó si les gustaba el Death Magentic y alguien que él vio en el público dijo que no, por lo que le volvió a preguntar: “¿No te gusta? Pues bueno, espero que después de escuchar esto te guste”.• Después del encore salieron tocando la intro de “Eye of the Beholder” haciendo que la gente cantara los coros de la introducción, después ellos se detuvieron y la gente continuaba cantando el himno de dicha canción, por más que la banda hacía señales de que se detuvieran, los espectadores continuaron haciendo que la banda le aplaudiera al público y sonrieron sorprendidos que la gente le ganó a Metallica en una broma. Coincidencias entre los 3 conciertos de Junio 2009 en la Cd. It's one of Metallica's best looking and sounding concert films, it got good reviews and somehow tanked at the box office. Through The Never wasn't a smash for the band but this is up there in quality and should not be skipped over. Despite some cheesy moments (Robert & the wall of CGI bass amps), we back this film and sit down to run through it, chronologically. The ups, the downs and in between. This week we spoke with music producer Greg Fidelman who recently finished Metallics’s new album Hardwired...To Self-Destruct. This is Metallica's first studio album since 2008 and is not the first time Fidelman has worked with the band. Greg also worked as an engineer and mixer on Death Magnetic and was the co-producer, engineer and mixer on Lulu, the band’s collaboration with the late Lou Reed. He also oversaw the band’s live soundtrack to their first-ever feature film Through The Never. Greg has also worked with other bands such as Slayer, Black Sabbath, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Bush, Audioslave, Marilyn Manson, Slipknot, and System of a Down.
