The jazz standard "All The Things You Are" has been performed countless times by master jazz vocalists, 30s big bands, bebop small groups, hard-bop combos, modern deconstructionists, and even soon-to-be Kings of Pop. On this episode, Kirk takes listeners through the history of the now-famous tune, from its humble Broadway origins all the way to his recording studio in Portland, where he and some friends recorded an all-new arrangement just for Strong Songs.Music/Lyrics: Jerome Kern & Oscar Hammerstein IIVersions Featured:Broadway Original Cast Recording of "Very Warm for May," - 1939Tommy Dorsey and His Orchestra, feat. Send us a textIn this week's episode of Small Beginnings with Sara, we're getting our hands dirty—in the best way. It's time to pull the weeds. Using Revelation 2:5 (TPT) as our anchor, we talk about the small compromises that slowly choke out our spiritual growth and how repentance isn't about shame—it's about freedom.Sara shares her personal reflections from the week:What hidden “weeds” are crowding out your joy and passion? Are your spiritual roots dry and in need of living water? What daily choices are keeping you from walking fully in the mind of Christ? You'll learn how true repentance (metanoia) is more than a mindset shift—it's a spiritual renewal. Let this episode be an invitation to return to your first love, pull out the weeds, and let God reignite the fire in your heart.
Last year, at this time, I was preparing to move from Bratislava to California when I released the episode we're revisiting today, all about the easiest way to approach the last day in ELA. And it turned out to be the most popular episode I've ever released, with more than 25,000 teachers tuning in. So it seems only fitting that as the end of the year approaches once again, and my life is ONCE AGAIN in boxes, preparing for our move on Thursday for a very new and exciting job for my husband in the Midwest, I would share this episode one more time. I hope it will make your last day of school a fun, creative, LOW-STRESS day that gives you a chance to say goodbye to your kiddos in a way that feels meaningful and relaxed. Ever wondered why your meticulously crafted TPT resources aren't getting found, despite your best SEO efforts? After nine years as a TPT seller and five years coaching other teacher entrepreneurs, I've discovered a hard truth: most sellers are solving the wrong problem. The issue isn't that your resources lack proper search optimization. It's that you're creating products that can't be effectively optimized in the first place. Many of us start by creating resources we're personally excited about or that our own classrooms need, then try to retrofit SEO strategies afterward. This backwards approach typically leads nowhere because either nobody is searching for the keywords that describe your product, or the competition for those keywords is so fierce that newer sellers have virtually no chance of ranking. This frustrating cycle is what I call the "silent killer" of TPT businesses. You follow all the conventional advice – create more products, optimize your listings, design beautiful covers – yet sales remain stagnant. The burnout that follows drains your momentum and enthusiasm. Meanwhile, successful sellers who transition from side-hustle to full-time income share one critical habit: they validate market demand before investing time in product creation. They check search volume, assess competition, and identify keyword targets before designing a single page.Ready to break free from creating "hope and pray" products? Join my free Five Days to 5K Product Challenge starting May 24th! Through bite-sized, actionable daily tasks, you'll learn how to identify products with built-in demand, align your resources with what buyers actively search for, and stop guessing whether your next creation will sell. In this life, every single one of us will walk through moments and seasons of testing. If we trust in our own logic, we will see this as God's punishment for something we did or did not do. But that's not His nature - He is not punishing us. Instead, He is like a silversmith, refining and purifying us, watching to see a glimpse of His reflection. Each test is an opportunity to trust Him more, and even when the day of testing seems like it will last forever, He will be faithful, working all things for our good. (See 1 Cor.10:13 TPT)

Imagine if your students graduated not just with academic knowledge, but real-world skills they'll use every day. Today we're starting that conversation. I'm kicking off a three-part series that will cover essential life skills that students should master before they leave high school, no matter what their post-secondary plans are.First up: the basics of budgeting - a skill so many students are missing when they leave high school. I'm sharing why financial literacy matters now more than ever, how you can easily tie it into the ASCA Mindsets & Behaviors, and some creative ways to make budgeting relatable (and even a little fun!) for your students. You'll also hear why understanding their own money mindset is key to setting them up for success.Resources Mentioned: Resource: Student Budgeting WorkbookResource: Financial Literacy BundleResource: ASCA Mindsets & Behaviors Leave your review for High School Counseling Conversations on Apple PodcastsConnect with Lauren:Sign up for the free, 3-day prep for High School Counseling Job Interviews https://counselorclique.com/interviewsVisit my TpT store https://counselorclique.com/shopSend me a DM on Instagram @counselorclique https://instagram.com/counselorcliqueFollow me on Facebook https://facebook.com/counselorcliqueSend me an email mailto:lauren@counselorclique.comJoin the Clique Collaborative http://cliquecollab.comFull show notes on website: https://counselorclique.com/episode165Mentioned in this episode:TPT Sitewide Sale: 25% All Counselor Clique High School Counseling Resources Using the Promo Code THANKYOU25 on 5/6-5/8 https://counselorclique.com/shop
Are you struggling to decide whether to create evergreen resources that sell year-round or seasonal resources that capitalize on specific times of the year? This strategic decision can make or break your Teachers Pay Teachers business, especially in the early stages.Evergreen resources—those without holiday-specific elements that teachers can use throughout the school year—build stability and consistent income. They allow you to put your energy into creating one high-quality product that can potentially sell for 10-12 months each year. This approach streamlines your marketing efforts and builds a reliable foundation for your business. But is it always the best strategy?Seasonal resources offer distinct advantages that many new sellers overlook. With lower competition and more specific keywords, seasonal products often rank more easily in search results. For example, while ranking for "multiplying three-digit numbers task cards" might be challenging, ranking for "multiplying three-digit numbers Christmas activity" could be much more achievable. What's more, seasonal resources provide rapid feedback on your product creation skills—if your Christmas resource doesn't sell during December, you know immediately that adjustments are needed rather than wondering if you just need to wait longer. The data shows an interesting pattern: new sellers typically find faster success with seasonal resources, while established sellers build more long-term profitability with evergreen products. The ideal approach depends on your specific situation. If you're just starting and need to see sales quickly while developing your skills, begin with seasonal resources for each major holiday or season. If you create resources slowly and are playing the long game, focus on building a strong lineup of evergreen products. Many successful sellers eventually maintain a strategic balance of both. What's your experience been with seasonal versus evergreen resources? Teacher interviews can be intimidating and often feels like you're stepping into the unknown. But the hidden secret to a successful interview doesn't show up on a resume, a lesson plan you once taught, or even your knowledge of content standards. Instead, it's about your interview energy. “Where there are no oxen, the manger is clean, but abundant crops come by the strength of the ox.” - Proverbs 14:4 ESV“The only clean stable is an empty stable. So if you want the work of an ox and to enjoy an abundant harvest, you'll have a mess or two to clean up!”- Proverbs 14:4 TPT
At today's Youth Service, Pastor Femi Paul shared a powerful exhortation titled: "You're Destined for Greatness, But Are You Ready?" He opened by defining Greatness as significant accomplishments, importance, power, success and fame (Cambridge Dictionary), but reminded us that true greatness is measured by exceptional work, contribution to society, and the lasting impact we make in the lives of others. Drawing examples from scripture, Pastor Femi showed how: David became king at 30 years old, Joseph stepped into leadership at 30, Solomon asked God for wisdom at just 20, And even Jesus started His earthly ministry at 30. He challenged us that although we are destined for greatness, we must actively prepare for it! What it takes to prepare for greatness: Proverbs 26:1 (TPT) reminds us that, "It is totally out of place to promote and honour a fool, just like it's out of place to have snow in the summer and rain at harvest time!" Similarly, Ecclesiastes 10:16 (GNT) warns, "A country is in trouble when its king is a youth-fool and its leaders feast all night long." The message was clear: Promotion Cometh, get yourself ready. We must cultivate wisdom, responsibility, and character now, so that when our moment comes, we will be ready to rise and shine for God's glory!
That silenced the devil's harassment for the time being. So he retreated until an opportune time.Luke 4:13 TPT
