It's been a while, but welcome back to Draw The Line Radio Show with me, Jacki-E. This is the first in an occasional series of DTL Extra, the show that celebrates music made by female and female identifying DJs and Producers. Helping me Draw The Line this week it's Caroline Valença aka Amethysta a DJ, Producer and multi-artist from Brasília with a B2B set with her husband, Benicci. Nick Nicely in conversation with David Eastaugh https://nicknicely1.bandcamp.com/track/or-a-brockley-afternoon English singer-songwriter who records psychedelic and electronic music. He is best known for his 1982 single "Hilly Fields (1892)". Nicely released only one other record in the early 1980s, the single "D.C.T. Dreams", before retreating from the music industry. The influence of "Hilly Fields" has been noted on Bevis Frond, Robyn Hitchcock, Robert Wyatt, and XTC's psychedelic alter egos the Dukes of Stratosphear, as well as the hypnagogic pop movement of the 2000s. In September 2014, Lo Records released Nicely's second full-length album, Space of a Second. A third Nick Nicely album, Sleep Safari, was released on 26 September 2017 through Tapete Records. In 2018, "Hilly Fields" appeared in the Timothee Chalamont film Hot Summer Nights. From the start of 2018 Nicely has been working on live performances accompanied by the musician Bug Lover and generating new versions of old tracks and adding visuals. First came secret gigs in Frappant (February and April) in Hamburg, then on 14 June 2018 at the Electric Ballroom in London supporting John Maus, followed by a December show in Moscow and then a US East coast tour again with Maus in 2019.
This week on *The Hoodrat Recap*, your favorite *The Hold Steady* fancast, we're diving into the band's epic March 2025 London takeover! Join us as Jonas from Norway and Chris from Richmond hop on the mic to break down all the sweaty, singalong glory of “The Weekender,” “The Electric Ballroom,” and “The 100 Club” shows. From blistering riffs to barstool anthems, we're recapping every moment that made these nights unforgettable. Then, we dive into our voicemail inbox, which is overflowing with messages from fans who made the trip—especially our friends from the Netherlands, who may or may not have left their own country simply because they ran out of beer.Oh, and guess what? “From Meatloaf to Billy Joel” is back, baby! We're hyping a fan's new band that's so good it might just save rock ‘n' roll—or at least get us free drinks. Crack a cold one, crank the volume, and join us for this sloppy, glorious mess. Probably on Spotify unless we screwed up the upload again!--- Send us a voicemail Right NOW!!https://www.speakpipe.com/TheHoodratRecapPodcastListen to Deathlounge here:https://deathlounge.bandcamp.com/

Mixing dark electronica with sonic guitars, Call Me Amour craft their music to evoke emotion. Inspire and be inspired – whether that be through a feeling, losing yourself at a live show, finding a memory, or a change. The alt-rock UK four-piece will release their self-titled EP on February 7th, 2025, via Circular Wave Records. A release that features the immense tracks Good Day (Ft Mikey Chapman) from Mallory Knox and Bloom (Ft. Scott Kennedy)' from Bleed from Within. In addition to the EP release, the band will be joining Set It Off as support on their EU and UK tour beginning in February 2025 and finishing up in March 2025. The tour will wrap up with eight UK shows, including two nights at the Electric Ballroom in London. This tour, as well as the upcoming EP, and the previously released singles, are some of what we discuss in this interview with guitarist Geoff Murphy. We also delve into the feelings that surround this band, not just from the members, but from the crowds that flock to their shows, and so much more. This is Draw The Line Radio Show with Jacki-E, presenting the best music from female producers and DJs. Helping me Draw The Line this week it's Caroline Valença aka Amethysta a DJ, Producer and multi-artist from Brasília. Her Amethysta project is based on Techno, mixing elements of Driving, Peak Time, Acid, Hard and Psy Techno. Her mixes highlight the dichotomy between Techno and Trance, the visceral and the spiritual, resulting in the yin and yang present in her work. Amethysta is a fusion of two worlds, rave and club culture. From the underground, participating in parties like Trema Techno and Twisted, to Indie Dance events as a special guest at Memento and Mond Connector Records she creates a unique soundscape. With the EP Dark Feminine and the follow up, Grimoire, released earlier this year, she was the first woman to sign tracks to the Decreto Techno label. Hello Listeners! In this episode, we had the opportunity to have a conversation with J. Bernardt J. Bernardt, also known as Jinte Deprez (from Balthazar), will release his second studio album, ‘Contigo' via Play It Again Sam. For information to listeners, Deprez is best known as one of the singer-songwriter duo of Balthazar, one of Belgium's most beloved and respected alt-rock bands for over two decades. As a group, they have performed at various prestigious events and venues such as All Points East, British Summer Time, Electric Ballroom, Village Underground, Scala, and have sold over 600,000 albums worldwide. J. Bernardt with ‘Contigo' - derived from the Spanish word meaning “with you”—is a dramatic, captivating, and colorful work, filled with drama and brought to life by the luxurious melodies, vocals, and production from the master auteur, inventor, and music singer. The lead single, titled “Don't Get Me Wrong,” once again showcases Bernardt's unique ability to blend pop orchestration with a touch of funk, creating something truly mesmerizing. Speaking about the song, Deprez explained, “‘Don't Get Me Wrong' explores a miscommunication skill that misses the mark, even sparked by the sabotaging desires of two people who choose projection over self-reflection . A classically trained violinist, Deprez has scored all the orchestration for Contigo. He is a generalist a (singer, songwriter, instrumentalist, arranger, producer, engineer, and programmer). He began producing Balthazar's first album in 2008 (co-producing three of their five albums to date), and his debut album (released in 2016) was entirely self-made. While the sound of Running Days was shaped by electronics, the new album Contigo is based on an old-school band – a group of Deprez's “highly talented” friends, whom he guided through intense rehearsals and performances, “searching for that spark,” ably assisted by producer and mixer Tobie Speleman. In this live and exclusive interview I speak with the man behind one of the most Iconic characters & performers on the UK and Worldwide Independent wrestling scene.... Cara Noir (Tom Dawkins). We start by discussing his feud with Spike Trivet and the amazing 'I Quit, Loser Leaves Progress' match at Super Strong Style 16 (2022) and the punishment Cara went through during that match, including thumbtacks to the feet...! We also look ahead to his next Chapter match with Spike at the Electric Ballroom on February 26th 2023. Tom tells us about his his recent tours of Japan and his experience of working with DDT, and the reaction of the Iconic character from the Japanese fans. Tom tells of his experience for 1PW and his match with Christopher Daniels at the Doncaster Dome 1st October 2022 and what's to come in 2023 with 1PW. We discuss the importance of The London School of Lucha Libre on his development and his journey with Lucha Britannia and how that group helped him and so many more in his early career. We also discuss the genesis of the Cara Noir character and the early concept for what the Iconic character would later become. Tom tells us about some of the amazing matches that helped to take him to the next level, before eventually appearing for Progress in the NPS 6 in September 2019. On this episode, Danny Zelisko shares with us his forty years in the music business, producing over 34,000 shows in that time. He talks about what it was like to get started in the business as a stagehand (including being a security guard on Alice Cooper shows), what it was like to work with concert and tour producer legend Bill Graham, and how he and Bill put together one of the largest music festivals ever, just for a little film called “A Star Is Born” starring Barbara Streisand and Kris Kristofferson. Danny Zelisko began producing shows in Arizona in 1974. He founded Evening Star Productions, and has become known as one of the USA's best promoters and talent buyers since. The first room he steadily booked starting in 1976 was Dooley's Nightclub (750 capacity) in Tempe. Acts such as The Police, Cheap Trick, Pat Benatar, Talking Heads, KISS, Bon Jovi, No Doubt and Nirvana (among many others) performed at the intimate venue from its opening in 1976, until it closed after several ownership and name changes (aka After the Gold Rush and Electric Ballroom) in the mid-1990′s. Nightclub concerts by recording stars began happening all over the country, with Zelisko leading his territory in this area of booking. Zelisko and his team produced hundreds of new and veteran bands in facilities across the valley. Since that time, Danny has gone on to produce over 35,000 shows, and has now written a book titled “All Excess; Occupation Concert Promoter”, where he talks about his time working with such greats as Alice Cooper, Bill Graham, and so many others during his 40 years in the music business. www.dzplive.com The Business Side of Music ™ © 2022 Lotta Dogs Productions LLC Showrunner and Executive Producer Emeritus: Tom Sabella Producer and Host (the guy who has a face for podcasting): Bob Bender Co-Producer - Audio/Video Editor (the man behind the curtain): Mark Sabella Director of Video and Continuity (the brains of the entire operation): Deborah Halle Marketing and Social Media (all knowing): Sarah Fleshner for 362 Entertainment All Around Problem Solver (and Mental Health Therapist for us): Connie Ribas Recorded inside an old beat up Airstream Trailer located somewhere on what's left of Music Row in Nashville TN (except during pandemics, then it's pretty much been accomplished VIA Zoom or over the phone, with the exception for those fearless enough to come to Bob Bender's dining room… and there have been a few that have survived). Bigger venue, better production, same great wrestling. We see early iterations of Zach Gibson and Will Osperay begin to mold into what they are today, we see a few chaotic, car crashes of matches, we see the first tag champions get crowned, and Celine Dion makes a run-in. As suggested by Jed Grainger, Steve and Remfry discuss the debut (and only) album from the short-lived project formed by Omar Rodriguez Lopez and Cedric Bixler-Zavala of At the Drive-In / The Mars Volta fame. Released digitally on July 1st 2014 (november 10th 2014 physically) Antemasque caused a minor ripple for fans of At the Drive-In and The Mars Volta, which led Antemasque to play their debut London show at the Electric Ballroom, a show which Remfry attended and recalls here via a long lost Team Rock review. Steve generally mopes, but at least he likes Antemasque more than the last At the Drive-In album This podcast uses the following third-party services for analysis: Chartable - https://chartable.com/privacy
