In this episode, we talked with Women's Volleyball head coach, Anders Nelson ;A rising star in the coaching profession and integral part of the first SEC volleyball program to win a national championship, Anders Nelson (pronounced ahn-ders) will usher in a new era of Vanderbilt volleyball as the reintroduced program's first head coach, the university announced.Nelson, 35, spent the past 11 seasons at Kentucky, first as an assistant coach and as associate head coach for the past seven seasons. The Wildcats reached the NCAA tournament in each of his 11 seasons in Lexington and progressed to at least the second round on all but one occasion. In this episode, we talked with Women's Golf head coach, Tayo Bailey-Duvall ;Bailey-Duvall enters her fourth season at the helm of the Blue Raider Women's Tennis program for the 2021 season. Bailey-Duvall became the 11th head coach in Middle Tennessee women's tennis history following her six-year tenure at Butler.During her time as the leader of the Bulldogs, Bailey-Duvall's team won a Big East Tournament match in four of her five seasons. In this episode, we talked with Women's Golf head coach, Shannon O'Brien;Welcome to the podcast featuring Shannon O'Brien, the Women's Golf Head Coach at Lipscomb University. In this podcast, we will be discussing all things related to women's golf, from training and practice techniques to the mental aspects of the game. Coach O'Brien begins her eleventh year at Lipscomb and her second season as an assistant coach of the women's golf program. She spent nine years on staff with the Lipscomb women's soccer team with her husband, Kevin O'Brien, the head women's soccer coach. Shannon was an assistant coach and primarily was responsible for developing the goalkeepers and helping with the program operations. In her time with women's soccer, they won 6 ASUN championships and as a staff, they received the United Soccer Coaches Southeast Regional Staff of the Year award in 2018, after finishing in the top 32 schools competing in the NCAA tournament. In her tenure, three goalkeepers have earned ASUN standout achievements, including 4 ASUN Goalkeeper of the Year awards and an ASUN Tournament MVP award. He is currently the head coach of the women's swimming and diving program at the University of Tennessee, where he has established a culture of excellence and has guided the team to numerous national championships and individual titles.Before coming to Tennessee, Kredich was the head coach of the men's and women's swimming and diving programs at the University of Louisville, where he led the teams to six conference championships and helped numerous athletes achieve success on the national and international stage. Kredich has also been involved with USA Swimming, serving as an assistant coach for the U.S. National Team at the 2015 World Championships.Kredich is known for his innovative coaching strategies and his ability to develop swimmers to their full potential. He emphasizes a holistic approach to training, incorporating elements such as nutrition, strength training, and mental preparation into his coaching philosophy. In this episode, we talked with Women's Volleyball Head Coach, Donika Sutton;Donika Sutton is currently the head coach for the Tennessee State University women's volleyball team. She was named to the position in January 2020, becoming the 11th head coach in program history.Prior to joining TSU, Sutton served as the head coach at Eastern Kentucky University for two seasons. During her time there, she led the Colonels to their first Ohio Valley Conference Tournament appearance in five years.Coach Sutton led the Tigers to an Ohio Valley Conference Volleyball Championship for the season 22-23 … first time since 2007, which gave Tennessee State an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.Sutton has also worked as an assistant coach at several other universities, including the University of Alabama at Birmingham, the University of Alabama, and the University of Texas at San Antonio.As a player, Sutton was a standout setter at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, where she earned All-Conference USA honors and was named the team's MVP in 2007 and 2008. In this episode, we talked with Men's Soccer Head Coach - Jamie Clark;Coach Clark began his coaching career in 2004 as an assistant coach at his alma mater, Stanford University. He helped lead the team to four NCAA Tournament appearances and one national championship in 2015.In 2010, Clark became the head coach at Harvard University. During his six-year tenure, he led the team to two Ivy League titles and three NCAA Tournament appearances.In 2016, Clark was hired as the head coach at the University of Washington. In his first season, he led the team to its first-ever Pac-12 championship and a trip to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament.Since then, Clark has continued to build a strong program at Washington. He has led the team to four NCAA Tournament appearances in six seasons, including two trips to the quarterfinals.Clark has also been involved in coaching at the youth level. He has served as a head coach for the U.S. Soccer Development Academy and has worked with the U.S. Youth National Team.In addition to his coaching success, Clark was a standout player in his own right. In this episode, we talked with Women's Lacrosse Head Coach - Melinda McCord;Coach McCord is the current head coach of the women's lacrosse team at the University of South Florida (USF), a Division I program in Tampa, Florida. She has been in this position since August 2021.Prior to joining USF, McCord served as an assistant coach at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she helped lead the Tar Heels to two national championships in 2016 and 2019. The winner of the 2020 Ace Bailey Foundation Good Guy Award, Durocher made history on Jan. 17, 2020, when he became the 15th Division I women's hockey head coach to win 300 games with a 4-1 victory over Holy Cross.A 45-year coaching veteran, Durocher has been the head women's coach at BU since the program was elevated to varsity status beginning with the 2005-06 season. No coach has won more Hockey East women's tournament titles than Durocher as he has led BU to five, including four straight from 2012-15. In this episode, we talked with Baseball Head Coach Ed Servais;Ed Servais returns for his 17th season at the helm of the Creighton baseball program in 2020, after guiding the Bluejays to their fifth NCAA Tournament appearance under his leadership in 2019 (2005, 2007, 2011, 2012 & 2019).Known as a coach who emphasizes team defense, Servais' teams have consistently been among the nation's best in fielding percentage. In his first season (2004) the Bluejays' .982 fielding percentage led the country. Creighton has repeated that impressive feat two additional times (2009 & 2014). In this episode, we talked with Women's Volleyball Head Coach Carin Avery;Carin Avery took over the Valpo volleyball program in July 2002 and immediately began a run of unprecedented success on the court. Valpo won at least 20 matches in each of Avery's first 14 seasons at the helm of the program - one of just nine programs nationwide to reach 20 or more wins in each of those seasons. Entering her 23rd season overall as a head coach and her 21st season at Valpo in the fall of 2022, Avery owns 504 career victories.Last season was just another chapter in the legacy of success that Avery has had as head coach of the Valpo volleyball program. The winningest coach in program history, Avery completed the fall 2021 season with a 449-217 (.674) record in her tenure as Valpo head coach, as well as a 504-241 (.677) record overall. Her teams have won 20 or more matches 16 times under her tutelage, including 10 seasons of 25 or more victories. Under Avery, Valpo has won three conference regular season titles, advanced to seven conference tournament title matches, and won three conference tournament championships. In this episode, we talked with Head Coach John McCormack;Coach McCormack completed his 13th year atop Florida Atlantic University baseball as head coach in 2021, and 31st season with the program. He had previously served 11 years as associate head coach and seven years as an assistant coach, beginning in 1991.In 2021, the Owls finished with 32 victories and a third-place finish in the C-USA East Division. The season started off with the team winning seven of their first eight, including a road win over then-No. 6 Florida at the Gators' brand-new ballpark. At that point, many publications had the team ranked. A couple of stumbles ended non-conference play, but the opening Conference USA weekend was a four-game sweep of Marshall at home. C-USA would end up being one of the better conferences in the country, with four eventual NCAA regional invites. The Owls would split or win the final five league sets outright, including against No. 19 Southern Miss (followed by a road midweek win at Miami) to cap the regular season, finishing third in the division and earn the league's No. 5 seed. In this episode, we talked with Head Coach Melissa Luellen;Coach Luellen is entering her eighth season as Auburn's head women's golf coach in 2022-23. She came to Auburn after spending the previous 13 years as the head coach at Arizona State, leading the program to an NCAA title in 2009, and then two years prior to that as the head coach at the University of Tulsa. Luellen's coaching accomplishments have earned her several personal coaching honors. After the Sun Devils' NCAA Championship run in 2009, she was named SkyCaddie NGCA National Coach of the Year. Luellen was also named Pac-10 Coach of the Year three times (2006, 2007, 2009) and West Regional Coach of the Year four times (2005, 2006, 2007, 2009). While at Tulsa, Luellen was named Central Regional Coach of the Year in 2002 and WAC Coach of the Year in 2001 and 2002.Prior to college, she was a three-time Oklahoma state high school champion, a two-time Women's Oklahoma Golf Association Girls' Junior Champion (1981, 1982), the 1983 WOGA State Amateur, and the 1983 AJGA Player of the Year. In this episode, we talked with Head Coach Becca Moros,During her first season in the desert, Moros helped guide Jill Aguilera as she became Arizona's all-time leader in goal's scored. Moros' squad also took down rival Arizona State 2-1 in the regular-season finale, the Wildcats seventh-straight win over the Sun Devils.Moros was a standout student-athlete at Duke, where she was an All-American and a three-time All-ACC selection throughout her career. She also competed for the USA U21 National Team in 2006 and was a team captain during her senior season. After her college career was over, Moros was drafted in the sixth round of the 2009 Women's Professional Soccer Draft by the Washington Freedom. In this episode, we talked with Head Coach Karin Corbett,Through 23 seasons as head coach at the University of Pennsylvania, Karin Corbett has established Penn as one of the nation's elite women's lacrosse programs. With 11 Ivy League championships in the past 16 years, 13-straight trips to the NCAA Tournament prior to the pandemic, including three trips to the national semifinals, Corbett's teams have established themselves as perennial NCAA powers. Jordan Lay was named the Lamar University head volleyball coach in January 2020. He comes to Beaumont from Wofford where he has spent the previous four seasons as associate head coach and recruiting coordinator. During his four seasons at Wofford, Lay built a name for himself as one of the top recruiters in the sport bringing in back-to-back top 150 recruiting classes. Once on campus, Lay helped turned those recruits into some of the Southern Conference's top talent. Lay's recruiting efforts produced 11 all-conference selections, including the 2017 Southern Conference Player of the Year and four first-team selections. A native of Haskell, Texas, Goodenough became the program's sixth head coach on March 27, 2012, and immediately transformed a program hindered by consecutive losing seasons into Lone Star Conference champions. With many of the same players coming back from a meager 12-14 campaign, Goodenough maximized her roster's talents and the Wildcats went on to share the regular-season title with Midwestern State at 16-4. Loren “Buck” Smith begins his 22nd season as the head diving coach at Eastern Michigan University in 2021-22.During his tenure at Eastern Michigan University, Smith has qualified nine female divers to the NCAA Championships, while producing six NCAA All-Americans, including Kelly Hendricks who placed third on 3-meter at the 2013 NCAA Championships. Smith has had six First Team All-MAC selections, eight Second Team All-MAC honorees, won 13 MAC Championship individual titles and had four divers named MAC Divers of the Year a total of eight times, along with one MAC Freshman Diver of the Year. Joel Greenlee is entering his 20th season as the head coach of the Bobcat wrestling program after helping a program-best 6 individuals earn bids for the 2014 NCAA Wrestling Championships. Senior Jeremy Johnson achieved All-American honors for the second time in his career placing 7th at the NCAA Championships. The 2013-2014 Bobcat squad also excelled academically under Greenlee, being named the 11th ranked academic wrestling program in the nation by the National Wrestling Coaches Association. This marked the second consecutive season the Bobcats achieved a top 15 ranking in academics. They were ranked 15th in 2012-2013 with five academic All-Americans. Coach Kosty begins his 17th season at the helm of the Navy baseball program in 2022 and he has become the program's second-winningest head coach with 481 victories in Annapolis. After passing Max Bishop (306) on March 20, 2016, with a 7-3 victory over NJIT, he now trails just Joe Duff (595) in the all-time coaching standings.In 10 of his 16 seasons, the Mids have won at least 30 games; marking the first time that the program has accomplished the feat. In 2016, Kostacopoulos' Midshipmen squad won a school-record 43 games, the most-ever for a Naval Academy athletic team. On College Recruiting Mindset Podcast; Illinois State Deputy Director of Athletics Leanna Bordner announced Aug. 19, 2013, that Mark Klysner, former head men's and women's tennis coach at Youngstown State, would take over as ISU's head men's tennis coach.Since his arrival, Coach Klysner has coached a Summit League Player of the Year, seven All-Conference honorees, and surpassed 100 career wins, tallying 61 at Illinois State. Prior to Illinois State, Klysner spent the three seasons as Youngstown State's head men's tennis coach, while also serving as the head women's tennis coach for the past two years. During the 2012-13 campaign, both programs combined to win 28 matches, with the women winning 15 and the men earning 13 victories. Mikey Nantze is in his fifth year as an assistant coach with the Willamette University baseball team in 2020-21. He works with the hitters and is the third base coach during games. Tim Loeffler was hired as UIC's head men's and women's swim coach on June 3, 2014. The 2019 Horizon League Championships saw three Flames claim individual swimming titles. Loeffler also guided four individuals and one relay team to UIC program records. In 2018, four individuals won conference championships and four more program records were broken. Additionally, five swimmers qualified for the US Open Championships in 2019, where one (Michael Tegeler - 200 back) qualified for finals.Before arriving at UIC, Loeffler spent the 2013-14 season as an assistant coach at Army where he helped the men's team claim runner-up honors in the Patriot League Championships. Prior to his time at West Point, Loeffler served four years as the assistant coach at Michigan State where he worked primarily with the middle distance and distance freestyle swimmers. Following his 24th season as Monmouth University's Director/Head Coach of Cross Country and Track & Field, Joen Compagni has announced his retirement.Since Compagni took over in 1995, the men's and women's cross country and track & field teams have won a total of 58 conference titles in both the NEC and MAAC. The Hawks have also won one ECAC and one IC4A team title. He has been named NEC, MAAC, and NCAA Regional Coach of the Year 58 times – 27 times in the NEC, 23 times in the MAAC, and 8 times as a USTFCCCA NCAA Division I Mid-Atlantic Region Coach of the Year. Since joining the MAAC in the 2013-14 season, Compagni and his staff have led the Blue and White to a total of 23 indoor and outdoor titles out of a possible 24. The University of Maryland Eastern Shore named Karla Powell as the head coach ahead of the 2019 season.The 2020 season was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic before conference season began. The squad had 10 players named to the MEAC Commissioner's All-Academic Team and All-Academic Softball Team.In 2019, Powell led the Hawks to eight wins, doubling the win total of four from 2018. The team shared the Quantum Leap award with the Hawks' Women's Basketball Team after the season at the Harry's. Powell was an assistant coach at five different institutions at a variety of levels since her playing days ended at The University of Wisconsin in 2012. She comes to Eastern Shore from the staff at George Mason University a post she had held for only a few months.Prior to that, she was at Florida Southwestern State College of the NJCAA, where she was part of the coaching staff for the school's first three seasons of play from 2015-18. There she was responsible for the offense for a team that went 172-28 and won three Suncoast Conference Championships.
