The true to life story of a young naval officer's love and loss to infidelity during his final deployment to the Mediterranean the aftermath that followed. What could have been spent as a "life in state prison" instead set this young officer on road to redemption, love and growth that enabled him to aspire to greater things in life. Yes, raw emotions and bad thinking almost led to the murder of several people and would have landed this author in prison for life, but somehow God intervened and changed the course of my life for good. The story looks back at my life leading up to my 1st marriage and then how life changed once I got divorced and helped me to realize my true course in life. It led me to my current wife of 43 years and the woman that has stood beside me through thick and thin. It's a story about life, marriage and what you make of it, and takes readers through my journey in the U.S. Navy and beyond. The autobiography talks about relationships the author had during his formative years in high school at Winter Park High and afterwards the Navy and beyond. It's a story about life in general, with its twisted roads we often take to get to the end. There are lots of twists and turns along the way and so the very best way to describe my life and the book is with the song, "TURN-TURN-TURN" which I give full credit on the lyrics in this book. It's taken from the Bible and the Birds.

When two podcasts collide, the conversation gets wild — and that's exactly what happened when Mike Abrams of The Wrong Cat Died joined me for this crossover episode with actor Ian Knauer. We cover Ian's journey through Broadway, the West End, regional theater, and even his time performing on Disney Cruise Line. Along the way, Ian shares the perseverance it took to finally land Cats after years of auditioning, what it was like stepping into the role of Jafar at sea, and how those experiences shaped his career both onstage and off. Of course, with Mike in the room, we couldn't resist diving headfirst into the eternal Cats debate — was Grizabella really the right choice, or did the wrong cat die? Ian makes a compelling case for Old Deuteronomy, and things only get livelier from there. From cruise ship lore to Broadway memories to a game of “Did the Wrong Cat Die?” reimagined with iconic stage and screen deaths, this episode is equal parts thoughtful and hilarious. Ian Knauer's career spans Broadway (Anastasia), the West End (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels), national tours, regional theater (Cats, White Christmas), and concert and film appearances. Most interesting points from our conversation: Early Online Innovation: Josh began his entrepreneurial journey by founding one of the first e-commerce sites for natural products in the mid-90s, long before the widespread acceptance and understanding of online shopping and natural products. Pioneering Data Integration: After selling his first company, Josh founded a data integration platform that synthesized diverse data sets for enhanced decision-making in various sectors, demonstrating his foresight in the value of interconnected data long before it became a norm in tech. Visionary Environmental Impact: With Reseed, Josh taps into the underutilized potential of agricultural carbon credits, aiming to transform how the world views and values the carbon sequestration potential of farming. Empowering Farmers: Reseed's model not only addresses climate change but also aims to improve the economic stability of farmers globally by providing them with additional revenue streams through carbon credits. Challenging Conventional Investment Wisdom: Josh has taken a unique approach to funding by focusing on aligning with investors who share a mission-driven focus, challenging the conventional venture capital route that many startups take. Future Aspirations: Looking forward, Josh envisions a future where investments in ecosystem services, supported by solid data and profitability, become a cornerstone of both environmental sustainability and financial portfolios globally.

AABP Executive Director Dr. Fred Gingrich is joined by Dr. Gerard Cramer, Associate Professor at the University of Minnesota and current chair of the AABP Lameness Committee. This podcast is sponsored by Boehringer Ingelheim and their 360 mastitis portfolio. What's in your cattle tool care kit? Experience the power of complete mastitis care at choose360coverage.com.  The topic of the discussion is to walk through a research project that was funded by the AABP Foundation to investigate a model for inducing sole ulcers in dairy cattle. Sole ulcers are one of the major causes of lameness in dairy cattle and yet we still have much to learn about the pathogenesis of this disease to improve prevention and treatment strategies. Cramer discusses the importance of proof-of-concept studies to benefit future research and how they approached the welfare implications of this study. Three induction model challenges were implemented in this study included lying time restriction, dry matter intake restriction and a lipopolysaccharide challenge. Cramer reviews the results of the study and the difficulties in successfully inducing sole ulcers in this group of cows.  We also discuss some of the limitations of this study and future research opportunities to improve our ability to prevent and treat sole ulcers in dairy cows which can improve the welfare of cows. The AABP Foundation supports advancements in the health, well-being and productivity of cattle through scholarship programs, educational opportunities, and applied clinical research that benefits present and future cattle veterinarians. Research projects that are funded by the AABP Foundation must be applicable to practicing cattle veterinarians, have limited opportunity for funding elsewhere, and can serve as seed money for future larger-scale projects. The AABP Foundation research projects are supported entirely by member donations. Please support this type of research by donating today at this link.
