Within the Islands of Viti, she hails from the provinces of Ba and Macuata. A student of mythology, her own bloodline and deepening her work within ancestral attunement, Jahra utilises her training and specialisation within performance activation, various street dance style techniques and poetic/voice soundscape as a psychopomp for her shape-shifting and storytelling through her public and personal embodiments.Jahra's solo and company embodiment works have toured across festivals and performance seasons across Aotearoa, Australia, Hawai'i, New York, Berlin, Guahån and Canada. Jahra has created commissioned embodiments for institutions such as the Auckland War Memorial Museum in Aotearoa, The Banff Centre inCalgary, the Smithsonian Museum in Washington DC., and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. NACHO POPNate ‘Nacho Pop' Mendelsohn relocated from New York to Sydney in 1999, establishing himself by appearing in film clips and TV commercials (Channel V Dance Space, McDonalds, Coke, Evian). He quickly created ties within the music scene, firstly through his work with artists such as Bliss n Eso, Paulini, Girlband and Amy Pearson. He quickly stepped up and worked with international stars such as Pharrell Williams, Gangstarr, and The Black Eyed Peas.Nacho Pop was main hip-hop choreographer and backstage host for So You Think You Can Dance Australia. Season 3 of SYTYCD Aus launched McDonalds' ‘Nacho's Road Trip' across Australia, where he traveled around trying to find the best dancers in every city, and bring them back for a street-style routine on the SYTYCD stage in the finale.He was the first non-sport ambassador for Puma Australia. He caught the attention of the arts industry in Australia, and was chosen to choreograph and open the Sydney Fashion Festiva/ Additionally, he was the choreographer/main dancer in 2012 Sydney Symphony ‘Vanguard' Launch. LAMAROCSocials: @lamaroc999Lamaroc is a Pinoystralyano (Filipino-Australian) artist from Brimbank, Victoria.He represents 5-time National Champions: Fresh Sox (FSX), Seven Dollars (7$) crew and the keepers of original Hiphop-dance the Mighty Zulu Kingz (MZK). He also represents Nomadic Funk one of the first “Funkstyles” crews in the mid-2000's.With his crew the Fresh Sox, Lamaroc played a crucial role in reviving the traditional style and values of the Breaking dance to Australia in the 2000's. Encompassing the “Rock” dance of the 60's & 70's, the acrobatic-style of 80's and the Originality of the 90's, he along with the Fresh Sox made a reputation for themselves in the very small but tight knit scene of b-boys and b-girls in the Hiphop subculture of Australia.Together they took out the Australian B-boy Championships in Sydney in the years 2004, 2005, 2006, 2008 & 2010 at a time when a fresh take on traditional Breaking was frowned upon in the Country. Lamaroc has been Breaking for 20+ years and is also a part of the Australian Breaking Association Inc. who are working towards coaching dancers to the 2024 Paris Olympics.Lamaroc also goes by the name of Boogalama, which he created whilst studying the discipline of Boog-style Popping and Locking under Sugapop of the Electric Boogaloos. Together with like minded dancers, they formed the Funkstyles crew “Nomadic Funk”, specialising in those dances.Because of Lamaroc's background, knowledge and experience, he has been invited to facilitate Workshops and Dance classes around the country and in different parts of the world such as Brazil, Japan, Taiwan, New Zealand and the Philippines. Over the past 2 decades, he has also been invited to many dance events to compete both nationally and internationally and also to judge multiple categories from Breaking, Popping, Locking and All-Styles Dance Competitions.In his time competing and developing his craft in Australia and on his travels, Lamaroc hopes to share his love and passion for the dance to his students. Her artistic movement practise is grounded in Chinese ways of knowing and storytelling through experimenting with the intersections of street style foundations and contemporary frameworks. Amy has exhibited works with various artists and organisations across Australia including Performance Space, The Hayes Theatre, Brisbane Festival, First Draft, Belvoir St Theatre, Supercell Festival, 4A Centre for Contemporary Asian Art, Critical Path and Diversity Arts.
