At the same time, it's something that we're both very, very proud of, and I think that our relationship as a couple has really been the catalyst for a lot of our success.” - Matthew Parvis “Things sometimes don't always work out long term, and that's okay. Because, it probably was the right decision when we made that decision a year and a half ago, when the business was a certain size. And, now the business is a different size and has different needs. And so, I do think it's really, really imperative to always be flexible and kind of look at those issues as positives versus negatives.” - Matthew Parvis “I think you can have someone that is like, extremely skilled, but if they don't have a lot of will to get better or to learn, they're going to be stuck in a spot where they're like, okay, you're good at your job but, you might not be the perfect fit for our brand.” - Matthew Parvis Resources Mentioned: Matthew Parvis LinkedIn Fresh Clean Tees Fusco & Orsini Insurance Services Mike Fusco LinkedIn Ray Ramirez LinkedIn

Kellianne is a former attorney turned entrepreneur. She shares her story of starting, growing and exiting her Amazon business and how business owners can "get off the hamster wheel". What You Will Learn in Today’s Podcast Interview: How to grow a company into a valuable e-commerce asset Why selling on Amazon requires its own strategy Where to start if you want to build an e-commerce business The advantage of selling your product through Amazon Why you should build your business around your life rather than your life around your business The power in always knowing the value of your business and your trailing 12 months of EBITDA What advisors you should have in your network if you are selling a company The difference between Investment Bankers and Brokers and how they can help you sell your business What the due diligence process is really like when selling a company Why Kellianne wishes she had built her business with an end in mind from the beginning Podcast Summary: Kellianne shares her story about what it was like to leave the world of litigation and start an e-commerce business from the ground up selling products on Amazon. She brings us awesome e-commerce specific expertise and understands the power of helping owners de-risk their lives so they can have a peace of mind that often doesn’t come with owning a business. Years into the business, Kellianne decided her ultimate business goal was to sell the company, so she intentionally spent the next year learning everything she could about how to successfully exit a business. She advocates for a powerful mindset shift for business owners: you shouldn’t wake up one day and decide to sell your business; instead, you should wake up one day and decide to build a valuable business that you can sell whenever you want. After her seven-figure exit, Kellianne is using her Amazon and exit expertise (and partnering up with our company Arkona) to help other Amazon sellers and business owners grow their companies with an end in mind. The Remote Edition IG @theremoteedition Suzie IG @suzieclark_ This week we have the amazing Hermes with us. Hermes is the founder of a successful dropshipping e-commerce business and lives in Bali. He started his career in tech in the corporate world but after a few years realised it wasn't for him, ended up quitting and booking a one way flight to Australia! We chat all about struggling to find fulfilment in corporate jobs, the conflict of having a job that people think is amazing but inside you know it's not for you. We chat a lot about how this can have a huge impact on wellbeing and mental health. Hermes shares his experiences battling with depression and advice for anyone going to their first therapy session. We also chat all about dropshopping, how Hermes got into it, tips for starting a business and life as a digital nomad travelling the world. It's a super inspiring one, thanks for listening! Hermes IG: @sr_mercury About this series... Welcome to The Remote Edition Podcast where we bring you the latest from the world of remote work. We share stories from people working remotely from all over the world. Whether they are entrepreneurs, digital nomads, freelancers, people who have remote jobs or coworking spaces we are sharing their stories. Whether you're already working remotely, thinking about it or even managing a distributed team, this podcast is for YOU. About me (your host)... Hey I'm Suzie, I spent 6 years working in corporate sales roles in London including the largest Investment bank in the world and a San Francisco fintech unicorn. Despite these being quite impressive jobs to a lot of people, I always felt like something was missing. The routine started to really get me down so I did a lot of soul searching until I decided to quit my job, start a podcast and move to Bali to explore the world of remote work. What I discovered amazed me, there are entire communities of super smart and talented people working and living remotely, from all over the world, all doing different things and actually EXCITED about their work. I learned that many of them had left huge corporate jobs because they were restricted to staying in one place and had experienced similar things to me. From then on I became obsessed with this way of working, it opens up so many opportunities for you to travel, spend more time with loved ones or just do more things you love all whilst being more productive and generally happier. It also levels the playing field for global talent which is something I think can really change the economic landscape, solve issues in overpopulated cities and ultimately contribute to reducing global inequality. I want to help more people take advantage of this amazing way of working. Through my guest's stories, you will learn all about how they came to work remotely and the tips you can take into your own career and business.
For the next episode of the “Post College” series, I interview Tino Narez, an old middle school friend of mine, whom I watched rapidly achieve and crush it on life. As a graduate from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a major in accounting, we discuss his success and ventures through e-commerce while working with companies in the accounting field. I also talk about identifying his values in the role college played with him, partnerships, networking, and his current venture in a transitional shift in the Cannabis industry. Post College series is one of the seasons the On-The-Go Voice podcast has created to connect with the current generation. This season is about interviewing recent or post graduate students from college to explore the raw and authentic emotions after college, which involves seeing things from their perspectives and understanding the role of college for them. By dissecting their values, this series is focused on identifying the impact on society itself and why graduates chose to pursuit where they are at. I’m more so excited to share with people where people have gone and tell their stories how they view it so that we can see life for more than what it is. There will be more seasons catered to target certain individuals that I believe that the world needs to hear more about. Stay tuned ! If there's one thing the vast majority of Caribbean entrepreneurs attempting to take hold of the rapidly growing e-commerce market can agree on, it's this: accepting internet payments is often a challenge and more often than not the available options are exceedingly limited and loaded with service fees.We understand that it's not just the logistics of getting products to the international customer that poses a problem for Caribbean entrepreneurs but also the financial logistics of trading with that same international customer base. That's why in this episode we feature financial technology (FinTech) professional Rasheed J Griffith who helps us to understand these challenges and sheds light on ways that we can go about fixing them. You'll walk away with an understanding of:The specific structural dilemma facing the Caribbean as it pertains to internet paymentsHow we can get past this structural dilemmaWhy in today's world cash is no longer kingHow we can potentially reduce our perceived financial structural risk using preexisting infrastructureVisit our website at https://www.rdleagle.com/podcast/ for show notes and to join the discussion on this episode.
