What is Plant Spirit Medicine? Join speaker Diana Sproul as she describes plant spirit medicine as explained in Eliot Cowan's book of the same name. Plants, trees, rain, lightning and the Chinese elements (like water, metal, earth) are each represented by a consciousness. These may appear through meditation or dreaming in human, animal, insect or other form. Healing an imbalance or lack of a certain element in a person's spiritual make-up and life can help a person become well and whole again without addressing the illness itself. The book is highly recommended. The author says that is ordinary, and that all of us can learn to do what he does. Author Eliot Cowan trains students at the Blue Deer Center in New York state (http://www.BlueDeer.org). On Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/bluedeercenter This lecture is Part 3 of 4. Antibiotics can help us combat bacterial disease when truly needed. Unfortunately, their use also comes with a COST, as they lower ALL bacteria - both good and bad, indiscriminately. If the illness is viral, taking antibiotics doesn't help the illness, but can lower our immunity. This can set us up for future illnesses, unless we help rebuild our gut flora and restore our immunity. Most of us were not passed down enough beneficial bacteria (good gut flora) from the babyhood because we are in our 3rd or 4th generation of antibiotic use. There was a generational lowering as each group used them. There was also a lack of nursing during the 1950's-1960's, which reduced the transfer of beneficial bacteria, too.* Learn what bacterium and yeast tend to overgrow during antibiotic treatment. How to Recover After Taking Antibiotic Medication Antibiotics can be great when we are really sick. However, them do cause aftereffects because they kill off both good and bad bacteria all over the body. This effect can be shown the most in the digestive tract, because most (80%+) of our immunity is housed in the gut or stomach area. Knowing this, its important to stop potential long term digestive tract problems like bad bacteria flourishing both during after taking a course of antibiotics. These "baddies" could be Clostridia difficile (C. diff. for short), Candida albicans (yeast), or H. pylori. Prevent these from taking over after a course of antibiotics by feeding our gut flora and improving the micro biome in our digestive tract. Specific methods are given through dietary changes from a functional medicine and nutrition practitioner, Diana Sproul of Transform Health.
