    Aspen Heidekrueger is the recipient of the first ever 'Old Family Scholarship' that my husband and I created through the organization Cancer for College.  She is a 22 year old cancer survivor who was diagnosed with lymphoblastic leukemia at the age of 13. She spent three years undergoing one of the most intensive chemotherapy regimens in existence. She's now cancer-free but struggles with long-term side effects from chemotherapy.  Despite everything she has been through, she has become an avid speaker, blogger and advocate for young girls and adult cancer survivors.
