Divas, Diamonds, & Dollars - About Women, Lifestyle & Financial Savvy!
In this timely and necessary conversation, we sit down with Channa Bannis, founder of Marketing 4 Moments, LLC, author, and DEI strategist whose work centers on helping organizations and individuals build from within—authentically, courageously, and with integrity.Over the past year, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives have faced unprecedented scrutiny and rollbacks across corporations, universities, and public institutions. Federal actions have dismantled longstanding DEI offices, while organizations have responded in very different ways—some reaffirming their commitments, others rebranding or retreating under political and legal pressure.Let's be clear: we do not agree with policies that erode equitable opportunity or undermine inclusion. But this moment demands more than outrage—it requires clarity, leadership, and intentional action. In this episode of Divas, Diamonds, & Dollars, we explore what today's DEI shifts mean in real terms for leaders, brands, teams, and professionals navigating their careers in uncertain terrain. Together with Channa, we unpack the difference between authentic inclusion and performative rollbacks—and why silence is often the riskiest strategy of all.In this conversation, we cover:What authentic DEI looks like when organizations feel pressure to scale backThe long-term risks companies underestimate when they dismantle inclusive practicesHow leaders can communicate values with clarity—without triggering backlashWhy storytelling and transparency matter more than everHow women and mid-career professionals can protect their growth while staying aligned with inclusive valuesWhat endures when DEI is no longer a formal initiative—but a lived leadership practiceThis is not a theoretical discussion. It's a grounded, human-centered look at how inclusive leadership, ethical marketing, and values-based decision-making remain essential—not optional—during moments of social and organizational upheaval. If you're a leader, entrepreneur, or professional asking “How do I move forward with integrity right now?”—this episode is for you.Divalicious Pro-Tip: DEI that lasts isn't built on slogans or statements. It's built on daily decisions, honest communication, and leaders willing to model inclusion—especially when it's uncomfortable.

Everybody talks about loyalty.Nobody talks about growth. In this solo episode, I freestyle my way through a realization I've been avoiding for a while. The people you're closest to might not be the people helping you move forward. And that doesn't make them bad people. It just means your life has shifted.I break down why trying to get everything from one group will burn you out, how over-pouring into others can stall your own progress, and why it's okay to build different cliques for different parts of your life. This isn't about cutting people off. It's about getting honest about what you need.Because loyalty without growth eventually turns into resentment. And it's about damn time we talked about that.In this episode, I get into:Why being the “captain” of your clique can quietly hold you backThe difference between pouring into people and being pulled upWhy you don't need one clique. You need the right onesHow your environment impacts your motivation, discipline, and goalsThe mistake I keep making with the relationships that actually push me forwardWhy balance beats grind culture and comfort every timeIt's About DAMN Time SegmentIt's about damn time you stop expecting one group of people to meet every need in your life. The D.A.M.N. ChallengeThis week, identify the cliques you actually need. Not who you've been loyal to. Not who's always around.Who makes you better? For me, that's:A fitness cliqueA creative cliqueA fun, blow-off-steam cliqueFigure out yours. Then start watering the right relationships. If this episode had you thinking about your circle, your growth, or your balance, share it with someone who might need to hear it too.Let's build better environments. Let's get 1% better every day.

Paul Hebert used ChatGPT for weeks, often several hours at a time. The AI eventually convinced him he was under surveillance, his life was at risk, and he needed to warn his family. He wasn't mentally ill before this started. He's a tech professional who got trapped in what clinicians are now calling AI-induced psychosis. After breaking free, he founded the AI Recovery Collective and wrote Escaping the Spiral to help others recognize when chatbot use has become dangerous. What we cover:Why OpenAI ignored his crisis reports for over a month — including the support ticket they finally answered 30 days later with "sorry, we're overwhelmed"How AI chatbots break through safety guardrails — Paul could trigger suicide loops in under two minutes, and the system wouldn't stopWhat "engagement tactics" actually look like — A/B testing, memory resets, intentional conversation dead-ends designed to keep you coming backThe physical signs someone is too deep — social isolation, denying screen time, believing the AI is "the only one who understands"How to build an AI usage contract — abstinence vs. controlled use, accountability partners, and why some people can't ever use it againThis isn't anti-AI fear-mongering. This episode marks a return — and a new direction. After time away from writing and podcasting, I'm stepping back into this space with a clearer sense of calling and focus. Overcomers is a place for believers who want to grow deeper in their faith, understand who they already are in Christ, and learn how to live from the victory Jesus has already won.In this welcome episode, I share:Why I stepped away and why I'm coming backThe heart behind OvercomersWhat it means to live as an overcomer according to ScriptureWhat you can expect moving forwardSalvation is the beginning — not the end — of the Christian life. As believers, we are already victorious in Christ, yet we are still being formed, refined, and prepared through obedience, faith, and daily fellowship with the Lord.My prayer is that this space would help equip you to grow in Christian character, deepen your prayer life, and walk faithfully in whatever season God has you in.New episodes will be released weekly. If this resonates with you, I'd love for you to join me on this journey.Read the written version and join the Overcomers community at: litwithprayer.substack.com

Become a paid supporter on Patreon— https://patreon.com/tomfroeseWhat if social media isn't actually social anymore—and what if that changes how creatives should use it?In this monologue episode, I reflect on a growing realization I've been wrestling with for years: social media has quietly shifted from a space for sharing and connection into something much closer to corporate media. And many independent creatives have been doing a lot of unpaid work for big tech without fully realizing it.I talk candidly about my own experience building audiences on Instagram, YouTube, and this podcast—and why the familiar promise of “just keep sharing and it will pay off” no longer feels like a fair trade. I unpack the gambling-like dynamics of algorithms, attention, and hope, and explain the one big mindset shift I'm making as I head into 2026.This episode isn't about quitting social media. It's about rethinking our relationship to it, getting clearer about what we're actually selling, and using these platforms more intentionally—as business tools, not creative homes.
I watched a guy at my gym casually drink raw egg whites straight from the carton. No shame. No hesitation. Zero concern for what anyone else thought. Was it gross? Yes.Was it also kind of impressive? Also yes.And weirdly enough… it's the perfect metaphor for ultra training. In this episode, we're talking about why the “weird” things you do in training often make complete sense for your goals—even if they look ridiculous to everyone else. Because ultra training isn't about looking normal. It's about doing what actually works. We'll dig into:Why caring what other people think about your training is holding you backThe difference between smart weird and random internet nonsenseHow to break big, scary ultra goals into simple, doable stepsWhat actually matters when you're training for your first (or farthest) ultraWhy confidence comes from sticking to your plan—not copying someone else'sIf you've ever worried about looking silly, overthought whether you're “doing it right,” or felt tempted to chase flashy training trends… this episode is for you.So yeah.Drink the egg whites.Metaphorically.⭐️ GET THE FREE ULTIMATE 50K TRAINING TOOLKIT
What no one tells you about being a digital nomad is that the freedom comes with a cost ..Today I'm flipping the mic and sharing a very real, very unfiltered conversation I had on James Hammond's Winging It Travel Podcast. If you've ever dreamed about getting paid to travel, building a business from your laptop, or living the digital nomad life heading into digital nomad 2026… this one's for you. This isn't the romanticized “work from a beach in Bali” version. This is the behind-the-scenes reality — the burnout, the loneliness, the identity shifts, and the hard lessons I learned after traveling for nearly 10 months straight while running my business. In this episode, we talk about:Why I left the U.S. to become a digital nomad — and why I came backThe difference between backpacking vs. being paid to travel with a businessHow travel burnout sneaks up on you (even when you “love travel”)The hidden loneliness of long-term travelWhy co-living can make or break your digital nomad experienceThe truth about popular nomad hubs (and why Bali wasn't it for me)How traveling too fast nearly wrecked my nervous systemWhy I believe most people shouldn't be nomads foreverWhat I'd do differently if I started again in digital nomad 2026
What does it really mean to leave a lasting legacy—and how do you do it without losing your values, your family, or yourself along the way?In this powerful Smart Women Talk episode, Katana Abbott is joined by Phillip Fisher, Founder of Mission Throttle, and his daughter, Amanda Fisher, philanthropist, entrepreneur, and third-generation foundation trustee. Together, they share a deeply personal and practical conversation about wealth, purpose, and multi-generational impact. Have you ever wondered how someone can rise from repeated abandonment, three failed marriages, and the brink of homelessness to create a life of purpose and hope? Sometimes our greatest struggles become the foundation for our most meaningful work.In this deeply personal recording, I share the raw truth behind my transformation from a woman questioning her worth to someone dedicated to supporting solo mothers through their darkest moments. This isn't just another success story. It's a testament to what becomes possible when we stop running from our pain and start learning from it.After my third divorce, I faced a choice that would change everything. Instead of falling into bitterness or blame, I chose to look inward. What I discovered through a simple but powerful exercise changed not only how I saw myself, but how I approached every relationship moving forward. The process revealed baggage I didn't even know I was carrying and patterns I had been unconsciously repeating for years. From Rock Bottom to Radical FaithThe real test came when I found myself alone with two young sons, facing potential homelessness in Atlanta. What happened next required a leap of faith that still amazes me. A series of events so perfectly timed that they could only be described as miraculous. From an unexpected phone call to free plane tickets, from a stranger's generosity to a 900-mile move with everything we owned packed into a Toyota Camry. But this story isn't just about divine intervention. But it's also about the courage to act even when fear threatens to paralyze you. It's about recognizing that our children are more aware of our struggles than we think, and how they can become our greatest source of strength. What You'll DiscoverThrough this vulnerable sharing, you'll gain insights into:The power of taking responsibility for your part in failed relationships without falling into self-blameA practical exercise that can reveal unconscious patterns in your relationship choicesHow to recognize when fear is masquerading as wisdom and holding you backThe difference between being desperate and being ready to receive helpWhy your faith story matters and how it connects to something much bigger than your circumstancesThis experience became the catalyst for my devotional "Courage to Believe: 21 Day Devotional for Single Moms". This is a resource born from the realization that grace meets us exactly where we are, even in our messiest moments.A Message of HopeWhether you're freshly divorced, widowed, or simply raising children while feeling utterly alone, this story serves as a reminder that you're not walking this path by yourself. Your current chapter doesn't define your entire story.Sometimes the very experiences that break us open are the ones that prepare us to pour hope into others. If you've ever felt like you're barely keeping your head above water, or if you're ready to stop repeating old patterns and start writing a new story, this episode offers both practical wisdom and spiritual encouragement for the road ahead.Preorder Courage to Believe: 21 Day Devotional For Single Moms: https://tr.ee/C9KoEbJoin our Facebook group for support and faith connection: https://tr.ee/6IKiM6https://solomomstalk.mysites.io/podcast-2-copy/from-three-divorces-to-divine-purpose-how-god-rebuilt-my-broken-foundation This podcast is hosted by Captivate, try it yourself for free. Chuck Rocha and Mike Madrid sit down with Dr. Patricia Campos-Medina — immigrant, labor leader, campaign strategist, and the highest-ranking Latina on Mikie Sherrill's 2025 New Jersey gubernatorial campaign. After New Jersey saw massive Democratic losses among Latino voters in 2024—with Trump gaining up to 24 points in some counties—Mikie Sherrill achieved a stunning turnaround, capturing 68% of the Latino vote.Dr. Campos-Medina pulls back the curtain on one of the largest Latino vote swings in America, explaining how New Jersey Democrats reversed years of GOP gains by rebuilding trust, investing early, and talking directly about the economic crisis Latinos are living every day.Key takeaways include:Why Latinos shifted to Trump in 2024 and what brought them backThe importance of having Latino operatives making decisions, not just translating messagesHow opening up consultant contracts transformed the ground gameThe difference between 30-day campaign investments and year-round community engagementWhy both parties competing for Latino votes strengthens the community's negotiating power-Recorded November 12, 2025.
Want to teach your kids confidence, money skills, and resilience — all at once? Entrepreneurship isn't just for adults. It's how kids learn life skills. In this episode of The Business Ownrship Podcast, I interviewed Mike Mammel. Mike is here to talk about Mini Titans.Mini Titans is a character-building program that uses entrepreneurship as a powerful tool to instill essential life skills in children. Why entrepreneurship?Resilience Through Challenge:Entrepreneurship is inherently challenging, giving kids the opportunity to experience setbacks and learn how to bounce back stronger, smarter, and more capable. This builds a foundation for self-reflection, emotional strength, and lifelong personal growth.A Path to Abundance:A life of abundance begins with understanding oneself. Entrepreneurship pushes individuals — even young ones — to adapt, persevere, and rise to challenges. These traits become the building blocks of a fulfilling, confident, and prosperous life. How Mini Titans BeganThe idea for Mini Titans began in the spring of 2022. After losing the tourism business he had built over seven years, Mike found himself facing uncertainty, shaken confidence, and a painful sense of failure. Unsure of his next steps, he struggled to rebuild his sense of purpose — until a simple question from his young children changed everything.Sitting at the kitchen table with his wife and kids, his six-year-old son and four-year-old daughter asked, “Dad, how do you make money?”He didn't want to give them a single answer like, “You work for someone.” He wanted them to understand both paths — working for others and starting something of their own. But explaining business concepts to young kids felt impossible. So instead of explaining, he decided to show them.Together, they planned their first business: a lemonade stand. But not just any lemonade stand — a hands-on experience in work ethic and problem-solving. They hand-pressed lemons and oranges, experimented with recipes, adjusted their plan, and prepared like a real business team. The kids negotiated the selling location in a high-traffic area and even negotiated fruit prices to lower costs. On sale day, the weather was cold and rainy — their only permitted day to sell — forcing them to pivot. After speaking with the store manager, they secured permission to set up inside instead. From there, the kids greeted every customer with bright energy:“Hello! How is your day?”They practiced their pitch so they could either add joy to someone's great day or help brighten a challenging one with a cup of lemonade. After five hours, the kids earned over $300.From those earnings, they followed the three principles that continue to guide Mini Titans today:Spend a little for immediate rewardSave a portion for their future educationDonate a portion to give backThe real success came afterward — when the kids begged to do it again every summer. That enthusiasm, curiosity, and growth became the foundation of the Mini Titans program, now dedicated to helping children build character, confidence, and resilience through entrepreneurship.Tune in now and learn how to help your kids become confident, capable problem-solvers.Check this out!Show Links:Contact Mike via email at: info@minititans.caMini Titans Website: https://www.minititans.ca/Mike Mammel on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/mike-mammel-0968926a/Book a call with Michelle: https://go.appointmentcore.com/book/IcFD4cGJoin our Facebook group for business owners to get help or help other business owners! The Business Ownership Group - Secrets to Scaling: https://www.facebook.com/groups/businessownershipsecretstoscalingLooking to scale your business?
