We take a deep dive into the Cosmos that we find ourselves in and take a serious look at the possibility of extraterrestrial life. Are there aliens out there? What does that do to our theology? What does that do to our conception of the Divine? We ask all these questions and more. Enjoy! RESOURCES: Metaphysics of Exo-Life (Book) Andrew's Website The Center for Process Studies

For the 36th episode of the Integral Stage Authors Series, Layman beams Andrew M. Davis up to his orbital studio to talk about his recently published book, Metaphysics of Exo-Life. In this wide-ranging discussion, they talk about the renewed interest in and relevance of the field of cosmo-theology, as scientists are detecting possible indicators of life on remote planets and the government is apparently taking the topic of UAPs more seriously; the implications of extra-terrestrial life for human religions and soteriological models; the nature of God in an evolving universe, and whether humans and alien species could ever arrive at similar theological or moral understandings; the relevance of A.N. Whitehead's process theology for these questions; the strengths and limitations of Steven J. Dick's naturalistic cosmo-theology, and what Whitehead has to offer in response; and much more. Andrew M. Davis is a process philosopher, theologian, and scholar of cosmological wonder. He is program director for the Center for Process Studies where he researches, writes, and organizes conferences on various aspects of process-relational thought. An advocate of metaphysics and meaning, he approaches philosophy as the endeavor to systematically think through what reality must be like because we are a part of it. He holds B.A. in Philosophy and Theology, an M.A. in Interreligious Studies, and a Ph.D. in Religion and Process Philosophy from Claremont School of Theology. Jason Mudd brings his PR expertise to this episode as he talks about PR's role in your marketing strategy. Jason starts by giving some background about himself and then dives into some common PR mistakes, topics, tips and trends. Jason explains the difference between PR and advertising and why PR is so effective compared to advertising. Jason also shares an example of how it is important to take a holistic approach to your marketing or PR strategy.   3:18 – Jason explains how he took the “traditional” path to PR by starting his career as a journalist.   12:34 – Jason shares some common PR mistakes, including most people not knowing what PR is.   19:16 – Jason talks about his podcast and public speaking.   20:27 – Jason reviews some PR topics, tips and trends he is passionate about.   29:58 – Jason explains the difference between PR and advertising.   36:38 – Jason continues by talking about why PR is more of a long game compared to advertising.  40:37 – Jason shares some resources that have been helpful to him.    Quote   “Every once in a while, I try to disrupt that process and say, 'Hey, let's stop doing something, or let's do less and try to accomplish more.' Doing less means we're more focused and we might be able to do more or get more value out of it. For a while, I disrupted our engine and I started removing pieces from the equation. We cut back on the number of episodes of podcasts we were producing, we cut back on our Google AdWord spend and things like that. We cut back on the amount of PR we were doing for ourselves and then we noticed our inbound leads are down. Right? What happened? Then we started slowly adding things back. What we've discovered is it doesn't seem to matter what we bring back, it needs everything. It needs a holistic approach to work its best.” – Jason Mudd, CEO and Managing Partner at Axia Public Relations    Links:   Safe Harbor Boys Home: https://safeharboracademy.com/   Heroic Public Speaking: https://heroicpublicspeaking.com/   Listen to learn more about AI in PR:  Episode 234: The Future of AI in Public Relations, With Parry Headrick and Chris Penn  Episode 239: The Latest on SEO, Content Marketing and AI, With Dale Bertrand, Founder and President of Fire&Spark  How our PR firm is using AI and how you can too with Jason Mudd, CEO of Axia Public Relations  “The Fall of Advertising and the Rise of PR” by Al and Laura Ries: https://www.amazon.com/Fall-Advertising-Rise-PR/dp/0060081996  “The 4-Hour Workweek” by Timothy Ferriss: https://www.amazon.com/4-Hour-Workweek-Escape-Live-Anywhere/dp/0307465357   “The 4-Hour Body” by Timothy Ferriss: https://www.amazon.com/4-Hour-Body-Uncommon-Incredible-Superhuman/dp/0307704610   “Brandscaping” by Andrew M. In this episode of the 5 Leadership Questions podcast, Todd Adkins and Daniel Im are joined by Matt Brown, evangelist, founder of Think Eternity, and author of Truth Plus Love. During their conversation, they discuss the joy found in a life of generosity and what our motivations are as leaders. BEST QUOTES “Truth minus love and we will just be like a noise to the world around us. Love minus truth and we will be walking on air, we we won't have the power of God. Truth plus love equals influence." "The fruit of the Spirit is really the filter that as believers we're called to and also what will make us influential in the world." "Wanting to be first and best at everything is a sure sign that we have an unhealthy heart." "God's called me to be grateful and satisfied with what He's blessed me with." "As a leader, sometimes you are the facilitator of relationships that need to happen, but you don't always get a pat on the back." "A life of generosity is not just our financial resources, but also the totality of our lives and relationships." "Sometimes encouragement looks like giving people an open door or an opportunity." "It's not just on one spouse to serve, we serve each other." "My kids aren't going to do what I tell them to do, they are going to do what I do." "There is no success that will satisfy you like walking with Christ." "What you have in the gospel already is greater than anything you will ever achieve in your life."
