Unlock the secret to perpetual positivity! In this exhilarating “Good Mood Boost” episode we dive into how to turn bad moods into good moods. Host Matt O'Neill and Rozlyn Warren, an intuitive coach extraordinaire, unravel the mysteries of our minds and how our mental language creates our moods. They delve deep into the art of transforming negative emotions into stepping stones for positivity. This episode is a must-listen for anyone looking to conquer their inner critic and embrace a life of joy and resilience. Here are some power takeaways from today's conversation: How our thoughts shape our lives Maintaining good mood through self-awareness How to turn bad moods around The DANCE journaling process Shifting focus from negative thoughts to positive actions [01:19] How Our Thoughts Shape Our Lives The thoughts we consciously and subconsciously think on a regular basis ultimately shape our experiences of the world. By focusing on certain types of thoughts over others, we can influence our beliefs and outlook, which then impacts the situations and outcomes we go on to encounter in life. [02:07] Maintaining Good Mood Through Self-Awareness Notice when you start feeling negative and question the thoughts contributing to that mood, as many surface thoughts aren't truly yours but from outside influences. Use mindfulness techniques like deep breathing to step back from thought loops and gain perspective, then challenge any assumptions fueling the bad mood by asking for evidence. Identify what you really want in that moment, such as feeling good, and take action to shift your state, such as expressing gratitude for positives in your life to boost your mood and perspective. [07:44] How to Turn Bad Moods Around The key is using bad moods constructively by gaining insight into thought patterns and consciously choosing thoughts that feel better. Release any negative assumptions or beliefs that may be contributing to a bad mood. Stop attaching meaning and stories to everyday occurrences in ways that bring our mood down. View negative or "not good" moods as opportunities to gain insight, rather than just wallowing in negativity. Use bad moods productively rather than fighting them. Notable quotes: [01:19] The thoughts in our heads create the reality of our lives. [01:23] [01:35] The thoughts in your head – 99% of them – do not even belong to you. They are thoughts that you have picked up along the trail. [01:45] [08:13] Use your “not good” mood to show you your good mood. When it comes to relationships and the people around us it easy to feel that other people's energy is a huge conductor. We can often give our power away to others by paying too much attention to the way they are feeling and taking their mood personally. Because of this we often give our power away and live a life that feels beyond our control. Growing up believing in victim mentality and that people are doing things to us is something we must peel back the layers to in order to heal and become something more. The truth is everything and every person that comes to you is a reflection of what you have going on within unless you feel no emotional trigger to it. Throughout this episode Goldyn gives great information and tips on how to stay in alignment with your Highest Self and no longer allow others bad moods or emotional response become part of what shapes your life. She dives deep into relationships and what we can learn from tuning our frequencies and beliefs to a higher state of appreciation, compassion and love instead of dropping our vibration and matching those who may be struggling. Understanding that everyone has a journey and all emotions are valid is an important piece of allowing and supporting someone's growth and healing without making it about you. Once we live lives that are free from assumptions and taking things personally we can be a beacon of light to others and actually raise their vibrations to our level instead of sinking to theirs. This episode also includes some great information on expectations and letting people in your life off the hook by healing and coming from your wholeness. When you are truly healed, whole and you feel worthy others will actually reflect that to you without any need for your agenda to be place on them or upset to be a part of your experience. Even when life circumstances happen we still can keep a good attitude.
I've recently had the idea to start doing some shorter, often random more spur of the moment types of episodes in addition to the regular weekly episode. There are many things that come to me each week that I'd like to share in hopes of engaging more with the listeners. Some of these may just be audio from a YouTube, Tik Tok or other platform, or some may just be quick recordings I do when something strikes me. They may just be me responding to emails or messages on social media. Either way, they'll likely be random and of varying lengths and topics, so watch for them and share whenever possible. This week's episode was just based upon things I've seen, done or had on my mind over the course of this past week. Are you miserable with your life, job or maybe a relationship? Misery is a choice that only you can choose to change. I also spoke this past week to the national leadership team of Braver Angels about the We The Peoples' Forum which I'm honored to be a part of. Join our community of Go(o)d Friends to deep dive into today's practice with me!Today's quote and practice are one: "This moment couldn't be any other way." or "This mood, how I feel right now, couldn't be any other way."Notice your negative or heavy mood but don't try to change it. Think of it like weather. You can't change it. You wouldn't even try to change it. You just shelter in place. This mood is inner weather. Let it blow through. You just feel and be Love while the inner storm is raging. See through the storm to the Love that's actually there.

Homo sapiens is a very moody species. Even though sadness and bad moods have always been part of the human experience, we now live in an age that ignores or devalues these feelings. It’s time to re-assess the role of bad moods in our lives. We should recognize they are a normal, and even a useful and adaptive part of being human, helping us cope with many everyday situations and challenges.
