Securing this interview I felt that I had hit the Star Wars Universe jackpot!I am so honoured to feature actor Jake Cannavale in this special The Mandalorian series. We know him as bounty hunter Toro Calican, but I wanted to dig a little deeper into what makes this actor unique.Jake comes from a large acting family, so it was pretty much imprinted in his DNA from day one. His parents, actors Bobby Cannavale and Jenny Lumet, encouraged him as he carved out his unique presence centre screen. His step mother, Rose Byrne, being a guiding, positive influence too.Of course, this conversation was focussed on all things The Mandalorian.  Jake recalls his special behind-the-scenes moments, specifically a moment with Obi-Wan, Ewan McGregor. He also touches upon his role in Nurse Jackie too, and how he felt working alongside his father.  I tried to guess his favourite Star Wars characters but failed miserably, his answer was a total shock! Jake, you were right. I would never have guessed it. I am honoured to have him here as part of The Mandalorian interview collection. Thanks to Jake and the folks at Framework Entertainment for this opportunity. This is the fifth interview for The Mighty Dragon in its special The Mandalorian series. Tune in for more interviews from this epic, fan favourite series made for all Star Wars fans.Starring in The Mandalorian was certainly one of his career high points, but I feel this is only the start for him.  To sum it up, there's more to this actor than we have seen already, I just hope he is back on The Mandalorian soon. After all, no character dies really..... --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app

Nowadays, Peter Dinklage may be known as the wily, heavy-drinking Tyrion Lannister he played for eight seasons on Game of Thrones. However, his breakthrough film role — 2003's comedy/drama The Station Agent — showcases a very different side of the actor who "drinks and knows things" throughout Westeros. Written and directed by Tom McCarthy (Spotlight, The Visitor), the film sees Dinklage as a curmudgeonly loner who finds himself thrust into a reluctant friendship with two other outcasts, played with fervor by character actors Patricia Clarkson and Bobby Cannavale. Despite its pedigree, The Station Agent was truly only a critical darling upon its (extremely limited) theatrical release. So discussing McCarthy's directorial feature debut with guest Michael Denniston of the 99 from 99 podcast was the perfect occasion the perfect opportunity to dig a bit deeper into both the filmmaker's canon as well as the roles that paved the way for bigger things for its cast. Listen in as we discuss how Dinklage finds the humanity in his reclusive character, what the film has to say about grief and what Oscar-winning big studio release it reminds us of. SYNOPSIS The life of train aficionado and downcast little person Finbar McBride (Peter Dinklage) takes an unexpected turn when his boss dies and wills him a railroad depot in New Jersey. He decides to relocate to the small town, where he befriends talkative food vendor Joe Oramas (Bobby Cannavale) and unhappy wife Olivia Harris (Patricia Clarkson). As the trio's interactions deepen, quirky conversations and outcomes ensue. McBride also gains insight from librarian Emily. According to The New Yorker, the acclaimed director and all-around stand-up guy Woody Allen's 2013 film "Blue Jasmine" is yet another masterpiece in a long line of them. According to us, it is boring masturbatory fantasy from an out of touch ghoul who, in an ideal world, would have been locked up in prison for the past several decades rather than pumping out an endless stream of bombastic nonsense. Cate Blanchett won Best Actress for playing Jasmine Francis, a mentally damaged widow who we find out through a series of unnecessary flashbacks was married to a wealthy Madoff-inspired Ponzi scheme mastermind. Jasmine really doesn't have a character arc because she is clearly crazy to begin with, but fancy-pants critics would have you believe that the film depicts the subtle unraveling of a fragile soul with a cutting wit that's sharper than an 18th century French guillotine (or something similarly pretentious). Sally Hawkins was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for playing Ginger, Jasmine's adopted sister who is based on the character Stella Kowalski from Tennessee Williams's play "A Streetcar Named Desire." She is recently divorced from a meathead named Augie, played by Andrew Dice Clay, and is dating a new meathead named Chili, played by Bobby Cannavale, but Jasmine's insistence that she can do better drives her into the arms of a third loser, played by Louis C.K. (speaking of mastabratory fantasies). Alec Baldwin plays Hal Francis, a rich narcissist who, like Baldwin himself, seemingly sails through life doing and saying whatever he pleases. But the role does require some acting when Johnny Law finally catches up to him and he has to face the music for his lifetime of recklessness. Tell us what you think by chatting with us (@filmsnuff) on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, or by shooting us an email over at mailbag@filmsnuff.com. This episode is sponsored by Water Cool It. Set in 1970s New York, "Vinyl" is a ride through the sex and drug-addled music business at the dawn of punk, disco, and hip-hop. The show is seen through the eyes of record label president 'Richie Finestra,' (Bobby Cannavale), who is trying to save his company and his soul without destroying everyone in his path. Cannavale currently stars opposite Al Pacino in the Broadway adaptation of David Mamet's 1992 film, which also starred Pacino, along with Jack Lemmon and Alec Baldwin.
