Happy Halloween! Here's a special edition of For Songs Singles! This time we bring back old friend Lisset Diaz, singer/songwriter for the Havana-by-Nashville-based Sweet Lizzy Project (https://www.sweetlizzyproject.com/), probably one of the hardest rocking and hardest working bands around. Lisset joins me to talk about the band's latest single, Tales of Never-Ending Rage and a Beautiful Disaster, released just in time for Halloween. The song is incredible—a tour-de-force recalling Queen, the Beatles, Living Colour, Faith No More, Guns N' Rose, and so much more. The only thing better than the music is the backstory behind the song, so buckle up, put on your costume and welcome Lisset back to the show!
Adam and Matt get together to discuss the breakout teams from the first month of NFL action including: -The New Look Baltimore Ravens -The Jayden Daniels led Washington team -The defensive juggernaut Minnesota Vikings Then they go in to America's favorite segments Bolds & Scolds for Week 4 of the NFL season where they discuss Joe Flacco winning off the bench AGAIN, Derrick Henry's resurgence, Patrick Mahomes blowing out Rashee Rice's knee and the New York Jets losing while only giving up 60 passing yards (wtf). They wrap up with gambling picks for Thursday Night Football (Bucs vs Falcons) and picks for the weekend.
Aaron "P-nut" Wills, Nick Hexum, Chad Sexton, Tim Mahoney and SA Martinez have been 311 for 34 years. They sold over 10 million albums, they've had huge hits with songs like "Down", "All Mixed Up", "Beautiful Disaster", "Amber", "Do you Right", and so many others, and they're currently on tour. P-nut was kind enough to stop by the show. P-nut and Doc talk about the current tour, touring with Snoop, starting on bass, starting 311, his mom maintaining the 311 website for 15 years, creating new music and much more! Meanwhile on the rest of the show, Doc tells us how to avoid trouble in North Korea, Mike gushes about the squatty potty, and they find that they both love Italian salad dressing. Listen now! DC and Darius give us their first impressions of Ninja Theory's Hell Blade 2. The graphics are phenomenal as expected but for the most part, the rest of the game falls short. From the combat to enemy encounters nothing stood out to DC. As beautiful as the combat movement is, the two-button system can become boring after a few encounters. It's a decent game but not necessarily what Xbox needs. We're finishing up our House of Sprouse marathon with Beautiful Disaster, a very 2011 romantic comedy that came out in 2023. Featuring Dylan Sprouse, a dark poker past, and an underground college fight club, this movie is..... really something. Olivia also breaks down the source material (2011 romance book of the same name) and gives us perspective on how much worse the movie could have been. Join us as we try to navigate a very tropey film--and watch out for the splash zone.Notes:What's the Deal With,,, Jamie McGuire? With a distinctive blend of alternative rock, reggae, and rap, they have left an indelible mark on the music landscape, gaining a dedicated fan base and achieving widespread acclaim for their genre-defying sound and energetic live performances. The band originated in Omaha, Nebraska, with a lineup consisting of Nick Hexum (vocals and guitar), SA Martinez (vocals and turntables), Tim Mahoney (lead guitar), P-Nut (bass), and Chad Sexton (drums). Their name, 311, is derived from the Omaha police code for indecent exposure, a reference to their early days of performing in the buff at their shows. This eccentric start set the tone for their unconventional and boundary-pushing career.311's music is often described as a fusion of rock, reggae, funk, and hip-hop, but it's not easy to pigeonhole their sound into a single genre. This diversity is one of their defining features, and it sets them apart from many other bands of their era. Their 1992 debut album, "Music," showcased this eclectic style with tracks like "Do You Right" and "My Stoney Baby," offering a taste of what was to come.In 1993, 311 released their self-titled album, which is often referred to as the "Blue Album" due to its iconic blue cover. This album featured the hit single "Down," which received extensive radio play and catapulted 311 to mainstream success. The song's catchy melody, blended with rap-infused verses, showcased the band's ability to craft songs that defied easy categorization.311's commitment to touring and engaging with their fan base played a pivotal role in their rise to fame. Their live shows are known for their high energy and sense of community, with fans often forming a tight-knit group known as the "311 Family." The band's annual summer Unity Tour, launched in 1996, has become a cherished tradition, where fans from around the world gather to celebrate the music and camaraderie. In 1995, 311 released "311: Live," a double live album that captured the band's electrifying live performances. This release further solidified their reputation as a must-see live act. Their ability to translate their studio recordings into dynamic and engaging live shows has been a cornerstone of their enduring success.311's career continued to flourish with albums like "Transistor" (1997), "Soundsystem" (1999), and "From Chaos" (2001). These albums featured hits like "Beautiful Disaster," "Come Original," and "Amber," showcasing the band's evolving sound and lyrical depth. "Amber," in particular, became one of their signature songs, celebrated for its mellow reggae vibe and heartfelt lyrics.Throughout their career, 311 has remained committed to innovation, never This episode is sponsored by www.betterhelp.com/TheBarn and presented to you by The Barn Media Group.

Look, I understand intellectually that Australia only contains a single letter L. But, due to factors beyond my control, I am apparently unable to pronounce it properly. Join host Elias in an exclusive interview with renowned director Roger Kumble as he delves into the depths of his latest film, "Beautiful Disaster." With a profound understanding of the human condition, Kumble skillfully brings to life the multifaceted layers of this enthralling film. Starring the talented duo Dylan Sprouse and Virginia Gardner, "Beautiful Disaster" is a captivating blend of sensuality and adrenaline-fueled action. Based on the beloved novels by Jamie McGuire, this highly anticipated film is set to hit theaters nationwide on Friday, April 21st. Prepare to be captivated by Kumble's artistic vision and immerse yourself in a world where beauty meets chaos. BEAUTIFUL DISASTER centers on college freshman Abby Abernathy, who is eager for a fresh start. However, her plans are quickly derailed when she meets Travis "Mad Dog" Maddox, a bad-boy brawler and campus playboy. Intrigued by Abby's resistance to his charm, Travis offers her a simple bet that makes them roommates for a month-but to their mutual surprise, their arrangement isn't as uncomplicated as it seems. Roger Kumble is an industry veteran of nearly 30 years, having directed nine feature films and many episodes of television series such as JUST FRIENDS, ENTOURAGE, SUITS, PRETTY LITTLE LIARS, REVENGE, and THE GOLDBERGS. Prior to BEAUTIFUL DISASTER, Kumble directed the third instalment of the massive hit film series AFTER. Never a dull moment in the world of Formula One. Alex Kirry and Dan Jimenez try to comb through the mess that was the Australian GP at Albert Park. Red Flags everywhere, controversy and a podium filled with World Champions. That should be an amazing race, right? Well, it wasn't as amazing as some are making it out to be. Dan and Alex try to understand what went wrong and why F1 needs to get better rules for ending a race in such a messy fashion. On the bright side, we saw surprising points scored, time penalties that may have been a bit too harsh and amidst all the confusion, no one is confused who the best driver on the grid is...Max Verstappen. How on earth will we be able to last 3 weeks without another F1 race? Listening every week to the Mode Push Podcast, of course. We'd love your feed back and comments on the podcast!
