She became a children's agent at Abrams Artists Agency, then moved to begin a new modeling, commercial and print division at the Carson Kolker Agency, which she developed for 10 years, before turning to managing at Terrific Talent, followed by setting out to form her own company JB Talent Management in 2015. This then began her travels overseas for projects, as well as teaching programs, working with children to overcome diversity challenges. Among her clients were: Joseph D'Onofrio, who is known for playing young Tommy in Goodfellas; Nicholas Alexander Chavez, who plays Spencer Cassadine on General Hospital; and Lauren C. Mayhew, who played Melanie Garrett on Dexter and Leo Cheng on the “L Word” . She loved working on projects such as: “Unstoppable, The Musical” with the children of Haven Kids Rock under casting director and musician, Nef Jones and with Carly Sullivan, activist, actress and producer on her “Marginalized Murder” series. Additionally, she helped clients secure recurring and guest-starring roles on numerous episodics such as Law and Order: SVU, Limitless, Power, Orange Is The New Black, Gotham, FBI: Most Wanted! and Difficult People. In features, her clients booked roles in projects such as Southpaw, Uncut Gems, Run All Night and The Intern. Brewer also landed national commercials for clients with the likes of Coke, Verizon, Bank of America, Chanel, Nike, PNC Bank, Merrill Lynch and Old Navy. Jenevieve was not only a major agent, talent manager and producer, but a vibrant energetic force, a light of enthusiasm, real, down-to-earth, forthrightness, deeply personal care, passion, an empathetic activist in the LGBTQ+ community, advocate for the underdog and had a keen sense of duty towards diversity. A woman of faith, she loved to laugh! She loved animals and swam every day for her personal joy and wellness, giving to St.Jude's and the Food Banks. A woman of peace she yearned for that across the divide in this country. Beloved Jenevieve, was a longtime NCOPM member (National Conference of Personal Managers), gaining the respect from both her clients and peers nationally and internationally…….. Jenevieve Brewer passed away suddenly on October 14, 2021…... “Since you came into my life in 2003, you have been my strongest advocate in the business, pushing me to do things I didn't imagine I could do. Even with my podcast, absolutely without a question coming on. I'm so sorry you were not able to see the end result, after all your encouragement to write it, throughout the years, but I am so very happy to have our story in it. I can still hear your voice and chuckle. I miss your “Hi Oz” greeting on the phone, your “xoxo” and your “I love you” with the heart emojis, at the end of your emails. Your light will never be dimmed in my heart, JEN!” I LOVE YOU! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/ozzie-stewart/support

“The Midnight Sky is a film with big scopes. We have big vistas, we're in space, we are on the moon, in the Arctic. Also, it's a very intimate film because it's a lot about connection, so we when we see people we get close to them and we feel intimate with them because we are literally with the camera quite close to them and looking into their faces. In this film, it helped that we went on 65mm. We shot on a large format. First of all we started that for the big landscapes, but I think it's great also for faces because the face also becomes like a landscape.”Martin Ruhe is the internationally-acclaimed German cinematographer behind the Netflix film The Midnight Sky directed by and starring George Clooney. The Force Fed Sci-Fi Movie Podcast

This time, we're taking a look at 2014's The Signal and along the way we'll ask what exactly is this film going for? What would you do with bionic appendages? And what are the rules for a successful road trip? Let's dig in…. The Signal Movie Cast and Crew Directed by William Eubank: Eubank's first film, a sci-fi Indie feature titled Love, received critical acclaim and was then given a significantly larger budget to create The Signal. Love's budget was a meager $500,000, while this film was budgeted at $4 million. However, our podcast show's hosts speculated that maybe The Signal would've been better served as an anthology type series or even as a video game. Eubank's latest film, Underwater, was a commercial flop and given the lack of success seen with that film, Eubank may very find himself in director jail while he labors to find his next project. Starring Brenton Thwaites as Nic: 2014 was a big year for Thwaites as he also appeared in The Giver, Ride and Maleficent. He has since gone on to appear in bigger blockbusters like Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales and is now starring as Dick Grayson/Nightwing on the DC Universe exclusive Titans. However, The Signal doesn't take advantage of Thwaites' ability as an actor as most his characterization occurs via the use of flashbacks or from situations described by his compatriots during the film. Olivia Cooke as Haley: A relative newcomer at this point in 2014, Cooke also had a starring role in the modern retelling of the Psycho narrative in the A&E series Bates Motel, as an early love interest of Norman Bates. She's since appeared in the Steven Spielberg adaptation of the novel Ready Player One. However, her character of Haley in this movie is largely absent for the second act of the film and much like with Brenton Thwaities, the majority of her acting talents were left off the table. Beau Knapp as Jonah: Knapp has been working steadily since 2011 and has quickly earned a reputation as a character actor having appeared in films like Super 8, Run All Night, Southpaw, The Finest Hours, and The Nice Guys and Death Wish (2018). Much like Cooke's character, Jonah is front and center in the first act, largely absent in the second act, and sacrifices himself in the third act so Nic and Haley can briefly escape. Laurence Fishburne as Dr. Wallace Damon: There isn't much else we can say about Fishburne's legendary career at this point. For further details about Fishburne, check out our past episode covering The Matrix. There are times where it feels like Fishburne is too big for this film, but he adds a certain gravitas when surrounded by his younger counterparts. The Signal Movie Summary: So What's Happening Here? The Signal is noted for its unique evolution. It initially begins as a road trip film as Nic and Jonah are helping Haley across the country from M.I.T to Cal Tech. There's also a romantic subplot with Nic contemplating the future of his relationship with Haley and if long distance could work for them (spoiler, it never works). Nic is also afflicted with some type of vague degenerative disease, but it's never explicitly mentioned as to what that disease is and this is further enforced through the use of flashbacks that imply Nic was able bodied prior to the events of the film. While the three friends on this road trip, Nic and Jonah are tracking a mysterious hacker known only as the moniker “Nomad” who is partially responsible for all of them landing in trouble while attending M.I.T.. Nomad then lays a series of breadcrumbs to an unknown location somewhere in the Southwest when they are confronted or abducted. At this point in the film it's unclear what exactly happens, and they suddenly awaken in a research facility run by Dr. Damon who enlightens Nic that what they encountered in the desert was probably an alien. Once the film makes this turn, things get even weirder from there. We gain almost no insight into the purpose for keeping Nic...

Throughout his career, character actor Holt McCallany was a go-to for strong, silent and decidedly dangerous men on either side of the moral fence, as evidenced by his small but memorable turns in films like "Alien 3" (1989), "Tyson" (HBO, 1995), "Fight Club" (1999) and "Three Kings" (1999). The scion of an acting family, McCallany paid his dues in a wide variety of projects, rarely vaulting past supporting roles, but always delivering a committed and often unsettling performance. In 2011, he advanced to leading man status with "Lights Out" (FX), a gritty drama about a former heavyweight boxer who forges a comeback to save his family from criminal pressures. Though the series lasted only one season, it propelled the actor to a new level of visibility through key roles in films including hacking drama "Blackhat" (2015), crime thriller "Shot Caller" (2016), action sequel "Jack Reacher: Never Go Back" (2016) and Clint Eastwood's aviation biopic "Sully" (2016).   Born Holt Quinn McAloney on Sept. 3, 1964, Holt McCallany was the oldest of two sons by Irish actor Michael McAloney, who won a Tony Award for his production of Brendan Behan's "Borstal Boy," and actress-singer Julie Wilson. A childhood spent in Dublin was cut short by his parents' divorce, with McCallany returning with his parents to the United States. There, he was sent to live with his maternal grandparents in Omaha, NE, but this period was a troubled one for him. After being expelled from school, he ran away to Los Angeles, where he decided to become an actor. McCallany's parents eventually tracked him down and sent him back to Ireland to finish high school. After graduation, he studied French at the Sorbonne and theater at the Ecole Marcel Marceau.   Upon returning to the States, McCallany apprenticed at the Great Lakes Shakespeare Festival in Cleveland, OH, then relocated to New York City, where he landed a job as an understudy in Neil Simon's "Biloxi Blues" on Broadway. His feature film debut came in 1987's "Creepshow 2" as a murderous Native American who receives his comeuppance at the hands of a cigar store Indian come to life. Soon after, he found steady work in films and on television. His intense presence and formidable build made him a natural for men of action on either side of the law, whom he portrayed in minor and supporting roles for such noted directors as Brian De Palma with "Casualties of War" (1989); David Fincher, who cast him as a self-sacrificing convict in "Alien 3" (1989) and as the Mechanic who explains the rules of "Fight Club" (1999); and for William Friedkin in the box office bomb, "Jade" (1995). McCallany found more substantial roles in independent fare or television; the former provided him with his first starring role in "The Search for One-Eye Jimmy" (1994), as a film student who encounters a parade of odd characters upon his return to his hometown of Brooklyn. The latter brought him to the HBO biopic "Tyson" (1995), in which he starred as legendary fight trainer Teddy Atlas, who helped develop Tyson from street tough to boxing legend. The project inspired McCallany to develop his own television program about a trainer, which would eventually bring him to the FX Network and "Lights Out."   McCallany continued to work steadily throughout the late 1990s and early 21st century in steely character roles for films and television shows both major and minor. He was the by-the-books lieutenant who made life difficult for George Clooney in "Three Kings" (1999), enjoyed a recurring role for three seasons of "CSI: Miami" (CBS, 2002-12) as a tormented cop who ends his own life after being implicated with tampered evidence, and played an Irish mobster who pressed Peter Petrelli (Milo Ventimiglia) into committing crimes for him on "Heroes" (NBC, 2006-2010). While pitching his boxing trainer series to HBO, he was informed that FX was developing a show about an aging fighter who was forced to return to the ring. McCallany was eventually cast in "Lights Out" as Patrick "Lights" Leary, a forty-something brawler who re-enters the sport after landing in trouble with a local mobster. After the show's cancelation, McCallany returned to the big screen with supporting roles in action thriller "Gangster Squad" (2012) and Sylvester Stallone vehicle "Bullet to the Head" (2012). Another TV series, crime drama "Golden Boy" (CBS 2013) was again canceled after a single season, but led to a recurring role as a district attorney on later seasons of procedural drama "Blue Bloods" (CBS 2010- ). Supporting roles in Liam Neeson thriller "Run All Night" (2015), hacking adventure "Blackhat" (2015), romantic comedy "The Perfect Guy" (2015) and crime drama "Shot Caller" (2016) were followed by a pair of high profile character roles opposite Tom Hanks in Clint Eastwood's "Sully" (2016) and Tom Cruise" in action-adventure sequel "Jack Reacher: Never Go Back" (2016).
