Former Secret Service Agent Clint Hill died at his home in Belvedere California just a few days ago on February 21st, 2025. He was 93. He's the Secret Service man that will forever be remembered for his own courageous moment in Dealey Plaza. On November 22 1963, starting from one car behind, he would dash and land on the trunk of the presidential limousine….just moments after the fatal shot hit president Kennedy. As the famous films of that moment so vividly depict, and as the presidential limousine accelerated, he held on... and he gently nudged Mrs. Kennedy back into her seat. He did so after she had climbed onto the trunk of the limousine, Mrs. Kennedy herself at that moment in shock and desperately lunging to retrieve a part of her husbands brain and skull. Agent Hill would hold on tightly and continue to shield the president and Mrs. Kennedy as the limousine accelerated to speeds of up to 60 and 70 miles per hour during the ride to Parkland Hospital. His heritage was Norwegian. and he was from North Dakota. He was drafted into the United States Army, and wound up being trained as a counter intelligence officer. After the military, Hill would join the Secret Service and served on the presidential details beginning with Dwight Eisenhower. During the Kennedy years, he was assigned to guard the first lady Jacqueline Kennedy. We are reminded that he was the only Secret Service agent to take the dash. He was the only agent to offer his body as a human shield for the President and Mrs. Kennedy in those moments where there was still uncertainty. Uncertainty as to whether more shots would be forthcoming. It was too late for the President and it was Clint Hill's acknowledgment of that...with a thumbs down... to those in the Secret Service car just behind...and that would be the first moment of consciousness that our nation had lost its President…There is no doubt that the Secret Service deficiencies in Dallas contributed to the President's death. But, there is also no doubt that Hills courageous acts that day were exemplary. Just days after that moment in Dealey plaza, Agent Hill was honored for his bravery…a moment that he himself took little comfort in...With all of the controversy about the exact nature of the President's head wounds, there was likely no one that had more of an unfettered view of them then Clint Hill. He would hover over the top of the President…as they raced to Parkland, his view unimpeded by others for over five minutes, as they sped toward Parkland…with the rear of the President's head in plain view as it rested on Mrs. Kennedy.Clint Hill would remain as the Secret Service agent assigned to guard Jacqueline Kennedy until after the 1964 election. And then he was assigned to President Johnson, back at the White House. In 1967, Hill was named as the Special Agent In Charge (SAIC) at the White House. When Richard Nixon was elected, he became the SAIC for the vice president Spiro Agnew.Agent Hill retired from the Secret Service in 1975, but he lived with the horror of that moment in Dallas for the rest of his life. Like the Secret Service in general, he steadfastly believed that it was Lee Harvey Oswald and Oswald alone that fired the shots that day in Dallas. And he steadfastly maintained that three shots... and only three shots... were fired. It can safely be said that Clint Hill was one of the good guys. Rest in peace, Clint Hill.

Ever since its announcement, I have been interested in learning more about Dolby Atmos. I was skeptical at first, primarily because of my experience with “Quad” back in the 1970s. That 4-channel concept never gain any popularity with either the listening public nor in the recording community. I presumed that Atmos would be similar, just more speakers. The early demo sessions I attended left me convinced that this was going to be another dead end, like Quad. The early mixes I heard were gimmicky and did not serve the musical intent of the artist well. But as I was exposed to mixers who really understood how to use the expanded format, my interest increased. And for the public? I never thought there would be much market acceptance of a system that required many speakers. But Dolby was smart about their implementation. The system knows how many speakers you have and creates a version that fits your hardware. There's more to Atmos, however, because of certain psychoacoustic processing that goes on, the resulting mix, in any format down to plain stereo, sounds better, with more detail and separation of sounds. I hear more things in an Atmos mix, even in headphones, than I did in the stereo mix.Shawn Dealey is the chief engineer at Sweetwater Studios in Indiana. I have been involved with several mixing projects with Shawn over the past couple of years, and I think he has an effective approach to interpreting the producer/artist/engineer's intent, and making it into an improved version. In this episode, I talk with Shawn about his evolution as he explores the new format. I learned a lot from Shawn, and I think you will, too. This episode was recorded at Sweetwater Studio B, the main Atmos mixing room. We used AEA 44 mics, a VT-2 mic preamp, and a VT-7 compressor, the same chain I use for recording most episodes. Thanks for listening. With the Luton v Watford game at the end of the week all eyes will be on Kenilworth Road! We look ahead with the gruesome twosome Andy Collins (Watford) and Justin Dealey (Luton Town) to discuss the last derby match, events and managers since, the Dalai Lama gets a number of mentions and Andy makes it to the second half of the show before using the word "Bachmann". Other surprises include the "Commentary Challenge" where our two guests compete in an increasingly unfair challenge to identify derby scorers of yesteryear and we discuss how many goats it takes to mow a pitch in Bedfordshire, how do you get twenty coaches (not managers) to the ground and why the away toilets at Kenilworth Road should have a blue plaque (as opposed to the green mould they have currently) and be transported to the new ground.Carl's Mum was not available for this recording.Huge thanks to our Patreons:Chris Giannone,RichWFC2,Steve Holliman,Ian Ball,Paul Fiander Turner,Lee Anselmo,John Parslow,Mark von Herkomer, Neil Silverstein, Steve Brown, Dave Lavender, Skyla Rose, Kasey Brown, Nipper Harrison,Boyd Mayover,Colin Payne,Gary Wood,Karl Campion,Uncle Ron,Kevin Kremen,The Big Le – Bofski,Greg Theaker,Malcolm Williams,Jason Rose,Michael Abrahams,Ian Bacon,Ken Green,Nick Nieuwland,& PDF. In this episode we finish talking about the JFK conspiracy by talking about the potential occult/secret society connections to Dealey plaza and the assassination.
Part 4 of the JFK Assassination series details the multiple mysteries that still exist surrounding the murder of JFK and Officer JD Tippit. This episode covers strange witness accounts around Dealey plaza, the confusing witness testimonies at the shooting of Officer JD Tippit as well as the chaos at Parkland Hospital and the autopsy performed that night at Bethesda Naval Hospital. On November 22, 1963 the world stood still as bullets rang out in the streets of Dallas. An assassin killed the US President John F. Kennedy. Since that day in Texas over 2,000 books have been written about what happened that November day. It is one of the most famous "conspiracy theories" of all time. Immediately after, President Lyndon Johnson organized an investigative committee to determined what happened to JFK. This was called the Warren Commission. Nearly 60 years later the death of JFK continues to be the most debated and researched conspiracy of all time. At 12:30 pm Central Time, Friday, November 22, 1963 at 12:30 pm, President John F. Kennedy was shot twice, once through the back exiting his neck, and another shot though his head, while riding in a motorcade through Dealey Plaza, in Dallas Texas. The President was declared dead at Parkland Memorial Hospital thirty minutes later. The JFK Assassination has spawned many conspiracy theories. Multiple official investigations into the incident, including the Warren Commission in 1964 and the House Select Committee on Assassinations of 1978-1979, have been greeted by public distrust and skepticism due to the investigations being conducted in secrecy, and that many records were sealed. Without being able to judge for themselves, the American people did not believe the findings of the Warren Commission, which completed its investigation in September 1964, 10 months after the President was assassinated. It concluded that Oswald acted alone. However, The House Select Committee on Assassinations, in 1978-79, concluded that Oswald acted in conspiracy.

Episode 55 is the second part of a two part series, which builds on Episode 52 and begins to further elaborate on the events that took place at Parkland Hospital. episode 55 finishes up the conversation started in Episode 54. In Episodes 54 and 55, you will hear more details, in their own voice, from three of the key physicians who were integrally involved with the president's care in trauma room one. First Dr. Marion Jenkins and then later Dr. Robert McClelland and Dr. Ron Jones in a combined interview. This continues the story of an emotionally intense thirty minute period in the assassination time line. Some of the most important matters that subsequently arose in the autopsy would be linked back to activities that the Parkland doctors engaged in to try and save the President's life, including the tracheotomy which obliterated the neck wound. Up to this point, we have spent our time primarily on witness accounts and now much of the physical evidence will be reviewed as we pivot to the forensics. We have now embarked on the forensics series and the stories are rich. In the forensics episodes to come, we'll make our way through other important events that took place at Parkland Hospital after the president expired... First the argument over the president's body and then the dash to Love Field as they began the trip back to Washington, and then followed by the mysterious story around the President's autopsy. In forensics, we'll also explore more of the physical evidence involving use and ownership of the Mannlicher Carcano rifle and evidence recovered from the Presidential limousine, as well as damage done to the vehicle. These episodes have begun to explore an array of matters that dive into a deeper darkness related to what went on that day in Dallas. Matters that possibly point to a wider and more sinister plot to kill the president and that clearly call into question theory that there was a lone assassin. Complex cases without an eyewitness that can actually identify the shooter make the forensic and circumstantial evidence that much more important. Ironically, problems abound with much of the evidence in this case. Evidence that is complex, incomplete and sometimes conflicting. Even as early as 1964, rumors and serious concerns over the lone gunman theory and the evidence that might contravene it, were becoming a major concern for the government and the commission. Conspiracy theories were contrary to the government's stated narrative from the very beginning. Author and researcher Brian Edwards joins S.T. Patrick to discuss Dealey Plaza as the site of a tactical operation, and then the witness testimony of Ed Hoffman. Edwards is singularly unique in discussing both topics. He was a former law enforcement officer and trainer, and he has over ten years of counter assault experience. When he looks at Dealey Plaza, he looks at it as more of a tactical operations site than a historical landmark. On this episode, he discusses Dealey Plaza as such a site. How would the perfect operation in Dealey be performed? What are the risks? How can the risks be overcome? How many personnel would be required? Where would the personnel be located? Edwards was also the co-author, with Casey Quinlan, of the book Beyond the Fence Line: The Eyewitness Account of Ed Hoffman and the Murder of President Kennedy. Brian Edwards is the co-founder of Project JFK. Get our archives for FREE at www.MidnightWriterNews.com
