RECALL: Act Two In February 1961, the boys of Miami Military Academy are still marching, joking, fighting, shaving, bleeding, stealing, and pretending the world outside the gates is someone else’s problem. But the world is already inside the school. It is in the news from Cuba. It is in the old munitions bunkers by the bay. It is in the secrets the adults keep, the wounds they drink through, and the wars they keep handing down to children. Written by Academy Award nominee Bruce Davison, and once optioned and held by the great Al Pacino, RECALL is a funny, savage, deeply human coming-of-age drama about abandoned boys, broken fathers, old soldiers, Cuban exiles, secret weapons, and the machinery that turns fear into patriotism. Act Two begins as Stephen Lishinsky tries to survive the strange education of “A” Company. His head has been butchered. His pride has been beaten. His idea of honor has already taken a few direct hits. When he tries to run, Commander Patterson finds him at the bus stop and gives him the kind of broken advice only a broken soldier can give: if you are in a storm, sometimes the only move is to sit tight and let the morning come. But morning at Miami Military Academy is never clean. Coombs is missing. The Razor Fiend is back. Bear is bleeding into the sink. Lindquist, the feral boy from the mango trees, is pulled into uniform and passed off as a cadet because, at this school, identity is just another piece of equipment someone misplaced. Sally Barnes drifts through the place like a lit match, furious at her father, suspicious of Patterson, and impossible for Lishinsky to ignore. Patterson tries to protect her, but the past between him, Colonel Barnes, and Sally’s mother is its own battlefield. Meanwhile, Slouch and Bebop stop pretending their war is imaginary. The key to Bunker 3 becomes guns, ammunition, and contraband dragged through the machinery of a school that is already falling apart. Patterson lectures boys on amphibious landings while the real invasion waits in the shadows. Bebop is pulled closer to the Cuban exile cause. Slouch, half romantic and half criminal, follows him into the Everglades, into blindfolds, pistols, secret rooms, and men who do not look like teachers. There is comedy everywhere because boys make comedy out of terror. There is coconut rum, marching songs, bad haircuts, chocolate cokes, contraband, dirty jokes, and the Dade County Fair waiting like a reward for good behavior nobody intends to have. But underneath the noise, the rifles are getting heavier. The lies are getting harder to carry. And the adults are running out of time. RECALL is about boyhood at the exact moment history stops being a lesson and starts becoming a weapon. It is about fathers who failed, sons who improvise, countries that ask for sacrifice before they explain the cost, and boys who are still laughing because they do not yet understand what the world is loading. Starring Alan Rosenberg, Carson Bolde, Stone Garcia, Wesley Kimmel, Dan Lauria, Kensington Tallman, Roxton Garcia, Bruce Davison, Luca Diaz, Amari O’Neil, Amir O’Neil, David Errigo Jr., Zeke Alton, Gian Franco Rodriguez, Miki Yamashita, Nemil Mudvari, Sofia D’Marco, and Ashley Ciarra. The US has a new leader of its own, JFK, who adopts - and adapts - a plan from Eisenhower's CIA to send a group of renegade Cuban dissidents into the Bay of Pigs to spark a revolution. It does not go well! We get into the botched plans, the rogue CIA, and why you can't drive a boat over a coral reef.Join our America250 newsletter community! In 1961, at the height of the Cold War, the fight against communism was in full swing. The CIA was deep into the politics of Central America, having already assisted some dictator-ish guys staying in power. The U.S. felt like it couldn't lose when it decided to "intervene". America was friendly with the current regime of Cuba, and it probably had nothing to do with all of the American corporations controlling most of Cuban industry. When Fidel Castro came into power as a result of one of the many Cuban revolutions, the U.S. was panicking because we didn't know which way he was leaning, Capitalist or Communist. With Cuba only being 90 miles from Florida, this was a cause for concern (not at all escalated by the Nukes we put in Turkey aimed at Russia). When the U.S. botched the first interactions with Fidel and issued economic sanctions, to be fair he seized a bunch of American corporation property in Cuba, he decided to just get what he needed from Russia, and boy were they excited, a communist friendly country 90 miles from the United States, oh the possibilities. Well because of this Uncle Sam decided Fidel had to go, so you do what any rational government would do. You find a bunch of exiled Cubans, train them as guerrilla fighters, teach them to pilot WW2 era bombers, secure them ships, and supply them with everything they need to invade Cuba and start a revolution to topple Castro. Can't miss plan...right?. Yeah not so much, find out how the JFK and the braintrust at the CIA oversaw one of the most embarrassing failures in recent history. Support the show

Now it's time to go South where truth and fiction are often blurred. The mix includes agency history, narrative psyops, the canal, world commerce, drugs, banking, and invasion. A central lifeline of US intelligence comes back into focus. But don't forget Guatemala. The Bay Of Pigs should never have happened. Once a loyal servant, Noriega was overused. Some tried to expose the corruption. There were dumb hicks they had to keep in check. New world order architects Bush and Barr were heavily involved. Deals were made with the devil. Money laundering done by Feds. Operation Just Cause horrified the UN. Music was used as a weapon, sort of like J6. Executive order 9066 was signed on this day in 1942. Trading With the Enemies Act of 1917 restricted trade in the Bush dynasty. The family that funded Hitler. What does de-Nazification mean in Ukraine? Hand picked leaders carefully placed by our agency. Cultivating the perfect villain. Insisting they bend the knee towards one currency. The geo-political chessboard is in motion again. Teutonic Knights and the chosen seeds. These are extremely dangerous people. Missions were put together for the wrong reasons. We should all know the level of our faith. Episode 189 is the second and last in a two part mini- series wander covering the Reverend Raymond Broshears. In today's final mini-series "wander" episode, we present Broshears' taped audio deposition that he gave to the House Select Committee on Assassinations (HSCA).  Broshears was one of the most bizarre witnesses that surfaced during the Garrison investigation. He met David Ferrie in New Orleans and became rather good friends with him.  They were sexual partners as well.  According to the story that  the good Reverend told back in the day, Ferrie confided in Broshears after the fact,  regarding his involvement in the  assassination plot to kill the president, with Ferrie participating  as the pilot who was to fly two of the assassins out of the country. The two men were purportedly  the shooters who were situated on the Grassy Knoll. The assassins changed the plan and apparently escaped by others means, thereby eliminating the need for Ferrie to fly them out of the country. Broshears  was a homosexual  who was also an ordained minister. Among his many notable notable assertions,  he claimed to have had sex with Lee Harvey Oswald.  After a sordid period of his life in which he was charged with sex crimes involving a minor, he would make his way to New Orleans and begin a tail that you will hear in these two episodes and capped off by today's rendering of his  testimony to the House Select Committee on Assassinations which occurred some ten years after his interviews with the Garrison team. After 1965, he moved to  California in search of a new start in his life,  and ended up as a rather controversial figure out there.  Broshears appeared on a local  Southern California television show, where he revealed the startling fact that he knew Ferrie and he told the story rather matter of factly  to the television audience regarding what Ferrie told him of his involvement in the assassination.  The show happened to be watched by a Garrison investigator living in the area, and Garrison and his team immediately moved to interview Broshears.  Four interviews were conducted, including two which took place in New Orleans. However, Garrison and his team, while they believed Broshears was telling the truth about the basic facts related to Ferrie, declined to use him in the Clay Shaw trial. Listen to these two episodes combined , and I think you will understand why. Even so, he is an important part of the history of the investigation, and we leave it up to you as a juror to determine which parts of his testimony may be credible. Even as early as 1964, rumors and serious concerns over  the lone gunman theory and the evidence that might contravene it,  were becoming a major concern for the government and the commission. Conspiracy theories were contrary to the government's stated narrative from the very beginning. This  real-life story is more fascinating than fiction.  No matter whether you are a serious researcher or a casual student, you will enjoy the fact filled narrative and story as  we relive one of the most shocking moments in American History. Episode 184 is the second  in a  multi-part series covering Richard Case Nagell.  This episode follows our opening overview in Episode 183 and  is comprehensive chronology of Nagell's life through the bank incident.  Nagell  was a highly decorated United States Army veteran, counterintelligence officer,  and former CIA Double Agent for a brief period  with ties to Russia. Nagell was arrested on September 20, 1963 after he entered the State National Bank in El Paso, Texas and fired two shots into  a wall at the bank. After firing the 45 calibre pistol, Nagel  allowed himself to be taken into custody at the bank. Nagell had  observed and then penetrated a group that included Lee Harvey Oswald and learned that they were planning the assassination of President Kennedy. Working as a double agent, he refused to execute the orders given by his Russian handler which was  to foil the assassination plot by convincing Oswald that he was being set up as a patsy or, in the event he was not successful in doing that, to kill Oswald instead. Shortly before the bank incident, Nagell sent a letter to J. Edgar Hoover exposing the plot. Not surprisingly, the letter was never acknowledged by the FBI.  Nagell met twice with New Orleans District Attorney Jim Garrison who at the time was investigating Clay Shaw's  possible complicity in the assassination.  The famous character Mr. X in Oliver Stone's movie JFK is modeled after Richard Case Nagell.  Nagell, like so many other characters in the JFK story, had a fascinating life and he first crossed paths with Oswald while Oswald was stationed in Japan at Atsugi Air Force Base. He would survive two military airplane crashes but the injuries sustained in the most serious of the two crashes were later hypothesized to have possibly impacted his mental health and they were the subject of an intense examination during his criminal trial related to the bank charges.  Nagell died at the age of 65 in Los Angeles, California...one day after receiving his subpoena to appear before the Assassination Records Review Board. It would have been his first ever appearance under oath to discuss what he knew about the assassination. Previously, he had not testified or given statements about it to any government arm that was officially investigating the assassination. Although he officially died of a heart attack, he had no previous history of heart problems and is included in that dubious category of mysterious deaths that occurred amongst witnesses in the aftermath of the assassination. Richard Case Nagell may be the single  most fascinating character in the JFK story, and  Nagell's story is yet  another moment where fact is stranger than fiction in the case of the JFK assassination. Come join us for  this multi-part series covering one of the most  interesting story tells contained in our podcast series.Even as early as 1964, rumors and serious concerns over  the lone gunman theory and the evidence that might contravene it,  were becoming a major concern for the government and the commission. Episode 182 tells the story of Gordon Novel. After winning Jim Garrison's confidence and becoming his security officer during the district attorney's investigation of the JFK assassination, it would soon become known that Novel was working for the CIA and had infiltrated Garrison's team. Garrison would eventually come to understand this double cross and seek to extradite Novel, who eventually fled to Ohio to avoid extradition by Garrison. Garrison knew that Novel had participated in the Houma raid and he wanted answers as he believed that Novel knew much more about that actual assassination than he was admitting. With the truth revealed that Novel was working for the CIA when he infiltrated Garrsion's team,  Garrison himself became even more resolute in his thinking that the CIA was either involved or  was covering up something very sinister as it related to the assassination. Novel as a character is one of the most fascinating individuals in this passion play that we call the Kennedy assassination.  In later years, he was involved in Watergate, the post Waco investigation and the related review of the FBI's performance there, and of all things, his private investigative work helped John DeLorean discover the presence of a sting operation that was contrived to entrap him.  A sting operation that proved to be a conspiracy between Britain's Conservative Party and both British and American intelligence services. Novel was a believer in extraterrestrial beings and technology, and asserted that the government, based on its capture of an alien spacecraft,  had reversed engineered the ability to generate limitless energy that could be made available on a widespread basis to all of mankind,  and thereby significantly reduce global warming and create an economic system that would free the world of the geopolitical dynamics related to energy.  He also consulted with  celebrities such as  Michael Jackson and Jean Claude Van Damme regarding security issues. Come join us for the wild and wacky story of Gordon Novel. We welcome to the programme Jacob Hornberger, founder and president of The Future of Freedom Foundation in the US, for an interview on the historical and political circumstances leading up to the assassination of John F Kennedy on the 22nd of November 1963. Centering in the thesis that Kennedy's assassination is best understood as an instance of the US national security state's exercise of its illegitimate power of assassination, we discuss subjects such as: The Bay of Pigs, The Cuban Missile Crisis, The Berlin Crisis of 1961, Laos, Vietnam, and the CIA's alleged involvement in various regime-change operations around the world. (It is hoped that this will be the first of a number of TMR podcasts during 2023 relating to JFK's assassination.) (Jacob Hornberger is founder and president of The Future of Freedom Foundation [FFF], a non-profit educational foundation in the United States whose mission is to present the principled case for the libertarian philosophy. He received his B.A. in economics from The Virginia Military Institute and his law degree from the University of Texas. After serving as a trial attorney for 12 years, he left the practice of law to enter the educational-foundation world. Jacob has written and spoken extensively on the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, and his assassination-related books include: An Encounter with Evil : The Abraham Zapruder Story; The Kennedy Autopsy; The Kennedy Autopsy 2; and Regime Change : The JFK Assassination. FFF has also published JFK's War with the National-Security Establishment by Douglas Horne (who served on the staff of the Assassination Records Review Board), and CIA & JFK : The Secret Assassination Files by Jefferson Morley (a former investigative reporter for the Washington Post).
