Start Your Transformation Now In this episode of The Jim Fortin Podcast, Jim invites listeners to look beyond the noise of global division and fear to discover what it truly means to be the solution instead of adding to the chaos. He explores how humanity's turmoil stems from low-frequency emotions like fear, control, and ego—and how conscious awareness and self-mastery can elevate both the individual and collective vibration. Jim shares how old societal structures are collapsing, why that's not a crisis but a sign of evolution, and how each of us has a role to play in guiding humanity into higher consciousness. Through stories from his mentors, like Don Javier and Akio Matsumura, he illustrates that self-awareness, empathy, and frequency management are not spiritual luxuries—they are responsibilities for those who came here to lead and heal. Don Javier, Nana Lourdes, and John talk about Indigenous, Buddhist, and Daoist spiritual responses to Imperialism.
Building on part one, Jim shares four additional transformative insights—simple yet powerful truths to help you rise above the chaos of the external world and reclaim your inner authority. All Power Is Internal (06:16) Your life isn't happening to you—it's happening through you. Jim explores why success and failure begin inside, not in outside circumstances. Seeking Approval Is a Trap (18:17) When you base your self-worth on others' opinions, you lose touch with your inherent value. Jim explains how to shift back into self-sourced confidence. Listen, apply, and enjoy! Transformational Takeaway Which of these four teachings resonated most with you? Whether it's letting go of worry, reclaiming your internal power, or stepping away from external validation—choose one and commit to it. The world needs people who live from soul, not reaction. Start Your Transformation Now In this episode of the Jim Fortin Podcast, Jim explores what it really means to experience freedom and independence—not just in the external world, but within ourselves. Building on his previous discussion about “seniority,” he reveals how true liberation comes from recognizing your spiritual authority, not from wealth, status, or nationality. If you've been seeking more ease in your finances, health, or life path, Jim makes a compelling case that reclaiming your seniority is the missing key. Diving deeper, Jim challenges cultural narratives around patriotism, belief systems, and identity that often mask as freedom but actually limit us. He unpacks how our upbringing and societal conditioning cause us to give away our power, and why managing your energy and attention is crucial for regaining it. With personal stories—including a raw account of his 39-month house build—and wisdom from his mentor Don Javier, this episode offers both spiritual insight and practical reflection on how to reclaim the independence we all crave. This episode is your wake-up call to stop seeking freedom externally and start remembering who you already are: a powerful soul with built-in seniority. If you're ready to step into true sovereignty, this is a must-listen. What You'll Discover in This Episode: Why We're All Born With Seniority (02:49) You don't have to earn freedom—you came into this life with cosmic power already built in. How Socialization and Domestication Strip Our Power (05:46) From childhood conditioning to national identity, we unknowingly give away our spiritual authority. Your Life is the Output of How You Manage Your Energy (09:11) Jim compares your life to a factory—what you create reflects how well you manage your seniority. A Personal Lesson: When Chaos Hijacked Jim's Power (11:59) Jim shares how his house-building process derailed his energy—and what brought him back on track. Freedom Begins With Attention, Not Action (15:13) Managing your attention in the 3D world is the gateway to reclaiming inner power. How Belief Systems and Patriotism Replace Seniority (21:04) Jim explains how societal labels and even religion can brand us, masking our true spiritual freedom. A Spiritual Person Asks Nothing of No One (26:53) What Don Javier taught Jim about sovereignty, asking Source—not society—for support. The Hidden Cost of Attachment (29:00) Freedom also means releasing the ego's grip—because what you cling to, controls you. Discovering Your True Power as Soul (32:00) Jim closes with a powerful invitation: Know yourself as soul, and you'll know true freedom. Listen, apply, and enjoy! Transformational Takeaway Your true independence isn't found in your passport, your bank account, or your job title. It's in your seniority—your deep knowing that you are soul, Source, and creator. When you stop letting beliefs, fears, and attachments define you, you'll remember the truth: you are free because you are. Let go of the need to control, release the illusions of security, and return to the inner sovereignty that was never lost—only forgotten. Freedom isn't out there. It's already within you. In today's episode, we dive deep into the often-overlooked yet profound role that water plays in our overall health and healing. Drawing from the teachings of Don Javier, we explore how water extends beyond physical necessity. It's a powerful element that carries memory. Water can be influenced by the way we engage with it - through our attitude, gratitude, and intention - which can directly affect its ability to nourish and heal our bodies. A key point in Part 3 of this series is the effect of cold water on the body. Drinking cold water can cause crystallization in the blood, which Don Javier teaches may reduce our longevity by disrupting the natural flow of energy within the body. On the other hand, room-temperature water is gentler and works in harmony with our bodies, supporting a balance that enhances our well-being. We also explore ancient practices like blessing water - a simple yet powerful way to tap into water's healing frequency by infusing it with gratitude and intention. This practice allows us to access water as a source of healing and deepen our connection to its vital role in health. Additionally, we look at time-honored methods such as drinking from copper water bottles and oxygenating water, along with external supplements like herbs, as practical ways to amplify the benefits of what we consume. What You'll Discover in This Episode: The Power of Declarations (02:27): Your attitude and thoughts shape your healing journey. Water's Memory and Healing Potential (06:32): Water holds memory and why blessing water enhances its healing properties. The Dangers of Drinking Cold Water (10:12): Cold water can cause crystallization in the blood and reduce longevity. Copper Water Bottles and Oxygenation (15:45): Using a copper water bottle and oxygenating water can boost health. Healing from Source (22:14): True healing comes from your consciousness and attitude. External treatments and supplements should support, not replace, your inner healing efforts. Transformational Takeaway Healing is not just about physical remedies - it's about the power of your consciousness and where you focus your energy. By engaging with water mindfully, blessing it, and maintaining a positive attitude, you activate its ability to support your health. True healing comes from within, guided by your thoughts and declarations, while external treatments and supplements should only serve to enhance the internal healing you cultivate through awareness and intention. Do you find yourself in a whirlwind of thoughts revolving around our chaotic world? Like it bleeds over into personal parts of your life that it shouldn't? In this thought-provoking episode, I discuss what my shaman mentor Don Javier sees happening in the world right now and share ideas for how you can thrive despite the chaos and uncertainty. The main theme is maintaining inner peace and operating from a higher vibration to navigate external turmoil. The children being born today are coming in with higher energy frequencies, which we're seeing evidence of in the rise of autism spectrum disorders. To me, this indicates humanity is evolving energetically as a species. The challenge is that these higher-frequency kids often struggle to integrate into our lower-frequency 3D world. As bioelectromagnetic beings, we're influenced by shifts happening in the planet's electromagnetic fields. The erratic energetics of the poles shifting affect our emotions and stability. Staying grounded and focused on higher frequencies like love, joy, and peace helps counter the destabilizing effect. Profit motives, human ego, and fear-mongering drive much of the chaos we're seeing play out in the world today. The news media and big industries financially benefit from keeping people afraid. Maintaining the perspective that you're an infinite soul having a temporary human experience helps detach from fear-based narratives. Transformational Takeaway: During turbulent times, elevating your vibration is crucial for inner peace. Ponder how you can shift your perspective to come from your highest identity rather than getting caught up in chaotic externals. Ask yourself, "What would my soul be advising me to do right now?" and "How can I be a force of compassion in the world?" The more you focus on raising your own consciousness, the more you can positively impact the collective. VISIT THE SHOW NOTES HERE FOR MORE: https://www.jimfortin.com/295 LIKED THE EPISODE? What is the secret to happiness and to joy in life? Is this a question that you've ever asked yourself? Maybe you tell yourself you don't know what happiness is and you've really wondered what life is all about. What's the point. When we come into this world, we forget everything that we knew before we got here. Yes. I'm talking about encarnation. Yes, I am talking about our soul. Yes, I am talking about spirituality. We've all been in this rodeo more than once. And we forget when we come into this life, what it was that we knew before, but we all come in with something that is unique to us and no one else. For those of you who don't know, I apprentice with an indigenous shaman. He was brought up by shamans in Mexico. And what he shared with me is that the one thing that we all have that no one can ever take from us is our authenticity. It's the uniqueness of who we are. And it's part of our lesson in this lifetime to remember who we are. One of the ways that we remember who we are is to get out of our normal every day, 3D thinking. In other words, we have to get out of our head. [00:02:55] I never knew that I was going to be on this path when I first learned about hypnosis. And when I reopened my hypnosis practice in 2018, I certainly never dreamed my journey would take me to where I am now. Part of the lesson in remembering our authenticity is to follow the bread crumbs that life is giving us. We follow the bread crumbs of what feels good. Sometimes we can have an experience where we just know something is right. We can't put our finger on it. That is a part of us that is remembering who we are, and it's bringing us that wisdom to know yes, go that way or no, don't go that way. People call it their intuition. They call it their gut. Has there ever been a time where your instincts, your intuition said go left and you're like, nah, you know, that sounds good, and that feels good. However, I've been told I should go right. And you went right. And you ended up in a place where you were either in a job that you hated or you chose to go to college for something, when all you ever wanted to do was to be a writer or to create art or to start your own business. And then someday you're looking back and you're like, Jesus. I like wasted this whole hunk of my life. It's because we didn't learn our lesson when we remembered. [00:04:42] So each and every choice that we make takes us on our path and it guides us in a direction. Now here's the thing. Do we need to beat ourselves up when we look back and go, damn, I didn't get it. Like I wasted all this time. No. Be in the present moment because when we start looking back and we have our shoulda, woulda, coulda, we're living in the past. When we're living in the past, we are unable to move towards our future. So how do we clear those things out? it's interesting that Don Javier, he is the shaman that I work with, t's interesting that he used an analogy that is identical to the analogy that I learned in hypnosis, except the application is slightly different, but the same, and that is of a hard drive. We all come in with our basic system and when we're born, like, I, use this with clients for a long time before he taught me this from a different perspective. From the time we are born, we are programmed. Our basic operating system is our needs that need to be met. We're seeking love. We're seeking safety, food, water, sex. Those are our basics, right? That's the operating system. We come with everything else that comes to us is programming that the world put into our head. It is programming that we were given by our parents, by our environment, and our perceptions and interpretations of it. [00:06:31] I'm gonna drop a serious truth on you in this. You might hear this and you might be like, you know what? I'm not listening to this anymore. And that's okay, because this is, this is a time where a lot of things are changing in our world and there's room only for the truth. The truth is that 100% of everything that we believe. And that includes me 100% of everything we believe is biased, and it's not truth. I want you to think about that. It's biased and it's not truth. So we have all this programming that comes in. It influences the way we think, it influences the way we believe, it influences what we choose for ourselves. We're choosing based upon what someone else put in our head. And there are things that we observe that we learn. There are things that sink in that we have no conscious awareness of. It happens all the time that later in life, it influences our decisions, our choices, it influences how we feel. So our job is to take our life experiences, and when we notice that we're being triggered, a trigger is a sign that there's something inside of us that we need to address because a trigger is based on a past experience. When we react, we're reacting because the subconscious mind is taking over because of past experience. When we respond we're in the present moment. So the first thing he told me is you have to clear out the programming that doesn't serve you. You have to clear out the programming that doesn't serve you. Then on a day to day basis, the things that happen, these things fill up our RAM. So think about, you know, you go to the office, there's gossip going down at the office or someone didn't do their end on a project, or maybe somebody's cheating on somebody, whatever it may be, the 3d stuff that happens. Right. All of these thoughts are being processed mentally and emotionally, even if they have nothing to do with us. It's one of the reasons why I do not watch the news anymore. Periodically I will check in the snippets and as soon as I check into it, I'm like, you know what? I'm checking out because I can choose to allow the news to influence how I decide for my life or I can just be me and decide for my life. [00:09:03] So when these things come into my mind, I have to work, I shouldn't say work, I have to stay in the practice every single day of clearing this stuff outta my mind, because if we just kind of do a one time clean up, and we don't clean up again, then the garbage is gonna pile up. So imagine a college dorm room where the kids all go, they clean up, they empty out all the trash and then they never had to empty the trash again, just say they only had to do it once a year. Well, at the end of the year, the garbage is gonna be piled pretty high. It's gonna be a stinky, smelly dorm, not a very pleasant place to be. The same thing happens with our thoughts. If we're not doing the practices that clear our thoughts, that clear our mind, that set us free from living according to the news, or the gossip, or what other people are constantly in our ear telling us we should do, we shouldn't do, what we should think, and how we should feel, and all of those things, then we're not gonna be able to make a choice for us. We're not going to be able to connect with our authenticity because our mind is gonna be like a little hamster on a wheel. [00:10:19] It's going to be constantly ruminating and processing these things, and we don't want that. Where we want to live is in a place where we can be present every day. And this is truly what mindfulness is, is that when you're going through a task, whether you're working on programming on your computer or your designing something, you're in a meeting with someone you're preparing to have a conversation, an interview, whatever it might be. You want to be present in that moment instead of going through the motions, because for so many of us, the jobs that we do, or at least I used to do not now, but when I was in anesthesia, my job was so routine that I didn't have to think anymore. Like there are certain steps that they are just always, always the same. And when we get in the process of going through the steps mindlessly, that's when we make mistakes, that's when we miss something that's important because we're moving through it, mindlessly. There's actually a study in anesthesia on mindfulness in anesthesia, instead of getting caught up in that rut and just following that rut and not being mindful with each and every choice that was made in giving an anesthetic. [00:11:57] So the same thing is true in our life. We need to be mindful. In everything that we do and something that is interesting, and I'm always wrapping my mind around it and reminding myself, as we remember things, we realize that we, know things. As we remember things, we realize that we know things and we don't understand how we know them. However, when you have truly remembered who you are and understand, and I'm still learning this lesson, you realize you know nothing. And when you come to the point that you realize you know nothing, then you're truly in your being. And that's really something to wrap your mind around. And I always will laugh at myself because sometimes, I'll be doing something and someone will say something and I want to come back with the right answer. And I just kind of have to laugh and stop myself and say, you know what? You know, nothing. You know, nothing. Am I perfect? No. Am I a work in progress? Yes, absolutely. But if you're looking for happiness, it comes down to remembering who you are because as you clear out all the head trash, and you can quiet in your mind, and you can just really observe and be mindful of where you are, you get back in touch with your intuition, you get back in touch with your knowing and with your knowing, your knowing will guide you. As you're asking yourself, when you make decisions, does this bring me joy? Does this move me closer to happiness? Does this move me closer to what I'm here to do? And if you're don't know what you're here to do, that's okay. I think most of us start out that way. Probably all of us start out that way. [00:14:42] And we all find out as we learn our lessons in our own time. But when you allow yourself to just be curious and to follow that intuition, to follow that knowing, and to make choices based on that, then you will reconnect with that part of yourself. Not that you were ever disconnected, but it feels. disconnected. So that's my piece on really digging in to find that happiness. We have to remember who we are and to know that there is purpose to our life, that we are learning lessons along the way. And it's about being in the present moment and moving forward, not looking back because it just simply does not serve us. I'll catch you next week. Thanks for tuning in today! I'd love it if you could head over to Apple Podcasts and leave a positive review, so we can reach even more people, so they can change their lives. That positive energy of sharing comes back to you as we spread this message.

The guys catch up first to learn about Ford’s gin being purchased by Brown Forman. The background of Ford’s gin stems from the 86 Spirits company, co-founded by Simon Ford, a bartender forward spirits company. After starting with a variety of spirits, Ford’s gin stood above the rest and is now a part of the Brown Forman family. But let’s move onto the fantastic Paloma! Made from Jarritos grapefruit soda (or Squirt) and your favorite tequila, whether reposado or blanco, but not an anejo. But don’t forget the limes, because you need limejuice. And a grapefruit to use as a garnish. This cocktail is built in the glass. No tools necessary. A lovely tall glass, add ice, and you’re good to go! Ben talks of his first Paloma, a few years back, when he had heard of it while bartending at Cinco. So he grabbed a case of Jarritos grapefruit and tried it himself. Fast forward to today, there is a house version on draft at Cinco! Ben’s spin consists of a grapefruit liqueur, Giffard’s, a vanilla bean syrup, lime juice, spicy salt on the rim of your Collins glass, and topped with club soda. Kim on the other hand, hasn’t had many Palomas in his life, he’s more of a margarita man. Maybe he thought it was too simple, but after years of experience, simple is better. It is an old drink, but isn’t everywhere. If you look at old cocktail books, like Savoy or Jerry Thomas, there are virtually no tequila cocktails. The apocryphal version says there’s a pap, from Meehan’s, popular Cocktails of the Rio Grande by famous bartender Don Javier Corona of La Capilla in the town of Tequila. Ben went and had a famous La Botaña, a derivative of the Paloma, tequila, lime and coca cola and stirred with the same knife used to cut the lime. Don Javier has denied authorship of the pamphlet. but David Wondrich put out an artsy flip book called Killer Cocktails. He traces the origin back to a Squirt advertisement in Mexico suggested combining Squirt and Tequila. You want a tall glass and for the bubbles to travel north. For Ben’s Cinco Paloma, an ounce and a half of blanco tequila, quarter ounce of vanilla bean syrup, three quarter ounce of grapefruit liqueur and a half ounce of lime juice, topped with soda and good to go. If you’re going traditional, at home, two ounces of tequila, half an ounce of lime juice and Squirt to taste! And a salt rim. Which enhances the flavor of tequila. When you’re sipping tequila in Mexico, you’re enjoying it with Sangrita, a salty tomato-based drink. A drink that may be hard to find unless you make it yourself! Paloma means dove, a great name for a drink. Maybe do a purple Paloma and called it “When Doves Cry.” And to get the drink purple, you can buy butterfly pea blossom, dried, steep them in the tequila and will color the spirit without any additional odor or flavor. Check out Kim’s @kimstodel instagram for pictures. Some background to know about tequila, you’ll want a 100% agave tequila, from one of the two regions in Jalisco, the lowlands and the highlands, and will take on complexities similar to the terroir of wine. Because it’s a plant based spirit, it should be the only ingredient. In the lowlands the soil is volcanic, drier, arid and the agave are working harder to build their agave sugars until maturity, where the flavor will be drier, more peppery, briny like olives. The highland tequilas have mineral rich red clay soil, where the climate is cooler, more moisture and precipitation. The plants build their sugars under relatively little stress, causing the tequila to become sweeter, green as in fresher, vegetal, lemon citrus quality. David Suro did a presentation for Ben and the guys at Cinco, who describes the highlands tequilas are feminine and the lowlands tequilas masculine. Find tequilas that aren’t using additives. Product labels often misinform customers, so be sure to read 100% agave on your label. If not, chances are you’re actually drinking a Mixto, which means it has to be at least 51% of the distillate is 100% agave, you can call it Tequila. You can’t say 100% agave, but you can say tequila, which deceives a lot of the general public. 100% agave is a mark of purity. But it doesn’t end there. Back in the old days, before transparency in production, many taquilleros, were using additives. Some of them used it to distinguish their tequila from someone else, but others were using residual sugars, agave sugar, vanilla, agave nectar. There are a lot of companies still doing this, cutting corners in production. Because they’re making money they have clout with there CRT and so forth, so many producers got grandfathered in and are allowed to utilize one percent of additives in the tequila. Home bartenders out there, look for 100% agave AND tequila on the label. Learn about rimming the glass with salt! Learn about making vanilla syrup!
