Oh our pregnancies were big news to us. And then our kid's pregnancies, they were big news to us. Thankfully, the press didn't follow us everywhere; they couldn't have cared less. But then, we're not like British Royalty like William and Duchess Kate were when they had their first baby. I'm Ron Hutchcraft and I want to have A Word With You today about "Every Baby's a Royal Baby." Kate's first-trimester problems were front page news a few years ago, because that baby is an heir to the throne - a royal baby. But every baby is a royal baby, because only the King - of all kings - can start a human life. Long before ultrasound, God gave us a glimpse inside a mother's womb in this prayer from Psalm 139. "You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother's womb. Thank You for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous." "You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb...Every day of my life was recorded in Your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed" (Psalm 139:13-16). Wow! From the moment the egg and sperm come together to start a life, it's all God. Every child is a unique, precious creation of Almighty God. On the day our grandchildren came into the world, I held them in my arms. I called them by name and I spoke these words to them. They're from Ephesians 2:10. "You are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus, for good works God prepared in advance for you to do." Those aren't my words; those are God's words. I picture God, our Heavenly Father, holding every baby and telling them that. Born rich, born poor, born "planned," born an "accident," born "normal," born "special," born "wanted," born "unwanted" - all divine masterpieces, designed by God; loved by a Creator who makes no mistakes, who has a plan for every life. The worth of every human is conferred on them before they're even born. So no one on earth can give you your worth - and no one on earth can take it away. Amazingly, when God visited our planet, He didn't beam down as a Conqueror on a white horse. He came as we all did - as a baby: embryo, fetus, protected by amniotic fluid, sustained by a placenta, pushing His way into the world. If there was any doubt of the sacredness of a baby, the Christmas Story declares, "Case closed." The stunner from the Bible is that the Bethlehem baby is also "the Author of all life." That baby designed every baby with a purpose and destiny that revolves around Him. In our word for today from the Word of God, "All things were created by Him and for Him" (Colossians 1:16). Jesus is the reason you're here. So the kids are right when they sing, "Jesus loves the little children, all the children of the world." From the moment they're conceived - all the children, and every moment from then on. We never really understand our worth, though, until we have a personal relationship with the One who gave us our worth in the first place. Jesus came and died because the relationship was broken by our sin; by our self-willed running of our own life; our way instead of God's way. "Created by Him, created for Him," yeah, but living for me. And facing an eternal death penalty for defying God's rule of a life that He created. And that's why Jesus came. It's why He died, to pay the price... not for sinning He had done, but for the sinning I have done and you have done. He stands ready today to forgive every sin of your life and bring you into His love where you'll finally experience the worth you've had all along. If you're not sure you've ever begun that relationship with Jesus, tell Him today,"I'm yours, Jesus." And go to our website. It will help you be sure you belong to Him. Our website is ANewStory.com. Today. Yeah, this is the day you could finally find your way home.

Introduction: Minutes 0 to 6:00 My dog did not do well at doggy day care. I've been watching 9-1-1. Chandra is watching Archer and Abbott Elementary. I watched a few House of the Dragon episodes but I didn't care about anyone. Chandra is reading the book Blackout by Erin Flanagan but she hates it. Royals: Minutes 6:00 to 22:15 Of the three royal biographies we talked about last week, Valentine Low's Courtiers: The Hidden Power Behind the Throne has the most tea. Low wrote about how Meghan was smeared back in March of 2021, right before the Oprah interview aired, for wearing earrings which were a wedding gift from Saudi Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who ordered the murder of Jamal Khashoggi. It's unclear what Meghan was told about the provenance of the jewelry. These earrings were part of the royal collection and had to be lent to Meghan to wear. Katie Nicholl wrote in The New Royals about how mad the royal rota was at Harry and Meghan for keeping the news of Archie's birth a secret at first and for staging the photos at Windsor castle. Meghan said in her Oprah interview that she was scared Archie wasn't going to be kept safe because he wasn't being given a title or security, and that she also wasn't asked to pose for photos outside the hospital. Nicholl said in an interview that staffers were mad that Meghan expected them to do work, essentially. She also wrote that Charles was jealous of Diana, that he was jealous of Kate and that Kate and William were jealous of Meghan. We got a new official photo of Charles, Camilla, William and Kate that was taken on September 18th at a diplomatic reception the day before Queen Elizabeth's funeral. The tone is off as they're all smiling. We talk about how Kate raided the Queen's jewelry right after the Queen died. We also got two new photo portraits of Meghan and Harry, taken at the One Young World Summit before the Queen passed. Charles wants to stop Harry's memoir. The Telegraph reported that Charles is considering getting his lawyers to explore options. They're also upset about Harry and Meghan's upcoming Netflix documentary. Last week we talked about how Queen Margrethe of Denmark was taking away the HRH and Prince and Princess titles from her four grandchildren from her younger son, Prince Joaquim. Joaquim and his second wife, Mary, gave an interview admitting that they were hurt by this decision and that their relationship with the family was complicated. After that Margrethe apologized and said she hopes that they can all make peace, but that she stands by her decision. Joaquim's oldest son, former Prince Nikolai, 23, said he's in shock and sad about the decision. Joaquim and Mary have been living in France for years. I play a segment from Zoom where we talk about the royals. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie: Minutes 22:15 to 28:30 We last talked about Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie in episode 132, when the heavily redacted FBI report came out. We didn't hear until now that Brad choked one of their children, that he poured beer and wine on the children, and that he hit one of the children in the face. Those details were included in Jolie's cross complaint to his objection to her selling her portion of Chateau Miraval, their wine company. It took her years of legal harassment from Brad to come out with this information. She gave him so many chances to buy out her portion of the company. Stoli, which bought Angelina's portion of the business, is now suing Brad. I play a segment from Zoom where we talked about Brad and Angelina. Gisele Bundchen and Tom Brady: Minutes 28:30 to 31:45 Gisele Bundchen is divorcing Tom Brady. This divorce has been exceptional in that she's been clear about the reasons she's doing it, because he went back to playing football after announcing his retirement. She's been caring for their children for years and he's promised her that she could return to her career when he retired but he reneged on that. They're being admirably open about their problems. Gisele's Elle interview was so breezy and forward-focused. There was a story about how Tom was attentive to their children “in the off season.” Comments of the Week: 31:45 to end Chandra's comment of the week is from Emmi on the post about who should be the next Bond. My comment of the week is from girl ninja on the post about Naomi Watts talking about menopause. Thanks for listening bitches!
Introduction: Minutes 0 to 4:30 I got a German Shepherd puppy and he's 16 weeks old now! He's a lot of work and he's very smart. I've been watching House of the Dragon and I like it but am not sure I will stick with it. Chandra finished What We Do in the Shadows. It had tone problems this season. Royals: Minutes 4:30 to 27:30 Last week right before we recorded we heard that Queen Elizabeth II had passed at 96. Harry went to Scotland, but sadly did not arrive before she passed. Both Kate and Meghan stayed behind, and at first we heard that Meghan would travel to Balmoral with Harry. After that it was reported that Charles told Harry that it was a somber occasion for the close family and that Meghan should not come. The British press did the most to smear her for wanting to support her husband. King Charles II made his first public statement on Friday, during which he announced that William and Kate would be getting the Prince and Princess of Wales titles. He also expressed support for Harry and Meghan. The Kensington Royal accounts changed their titles on social media to The Prince and Princess of Wales quickly. Before that, just a few hours after the Queen died, they changed their titles to The Duke and Duchess of Cornwall and Cambridge. The Line of Succession was updated and Harry and Meghan's children were not given titles. The latest news is that Archie and Lilibet will get titles, they just won't get HRH status. Chandra thinks Harry and Meghan are letting the royals make asses of themselves. Queen Elizabeth's funeral will be on Monday, and just like before Philip's funeral there's a lot of drama over which royals will get to wear military uniforms. Word was that only working royals will get to wear uniforms, meaning both Andrew and Harry won't have them, although it was reported that Andrew would get to wear his on one occasion. It looked exclusionary when Harry, a combat veteran, wasn't wearing a uniform at the funeral procession on Wednesday. Harry's people issued a statement the day before stating in part that “his decade of military service is not determined by the uniform he wears.” On Saturday Harry, Meghan, William and Kate arrived together outside Windsor Palace to greet the crowd. Meghan looked scared, Kate wasn't interacting with Meghan and you could tell there was a lot of tension. There are two videos of King Charles getting mad at pens. During his proclamation ceremony he made a face for his staff to move some pens that were in his way. There's another video of him signing something in Northern Ireland with Camilla. He seems mad to have gotten ink on himself and says “I can't bear this bloody thing.” The Queen's funeral is going to be a massive event and there's the question of security for world leaders. We know Trump and his buddy Putin aren't invited while Joe and Dr. Jill Biden are coming. Politico claimed that attendees were asked to fly commercial and take a bus to Westminster Abbey due to limited capacity, which sounds like a security nightmare. It's likely that was just for lower level diplomats and that there will be exceptions. Chandra reminds me of Prince Philip's memorial service in which many people came to show their respect for the Queen. After Charles announced that William and Kate would be the Prince and Princess of Wales, Duchess Kate issued a statement in which it sounded like she wanted to continue business as usual. Valentine Low at The Times wrote a shady piece that sounded like Kate better step up and do more work. There's a related story that William and Kate won't move into Windsor Castle anytime soon. I play a segment from Zoom where we talk about the royals. As Zakia mentioned in the Zoom segment, Meghan got criticized for taking 45 minutes to get ready for the walkabout. There was speculation that Meghan was wearing a mic pack there, which a source denied. William was the one to reach out to Harry about the walkabout at the last minute. Comments of the Week: Minutes 27:30 to end My comment of the week is from Sue E Generis on the post about Sheryl Lee Ralph's Emmy acceptance speech. Chandra mentions an interview Sheryl did on the red carpet where she mentions advice Robert DeNiro gave her early in her career. Kaiser's comment of the week is from Eowyn in the post about Gisele Bundchen's interview with Elle in which she admits that she's told Tom Brady to be more present with their family. Thanks for listening bitches!
Introduction: Minutes 0 to 5:30 We'll have an episode out next week and will be off on August 20th. I went axe throwing and I hated it! Chandra's cat was playing with a lizard. Royals: Minutes 5:30 to 19 We heard that Prince Charles accepted a million pounds from the bin Laden family in 2013. This comes after news that Charles got 2.5 million pounds in cash in literal suitcases between 2011 to 2015 from a shady Qatari politician. Charles' excuse was that his charity accepted the money, despite the fact that he met with the bin Laden family and brokered the deal. His justification was that it would be rude to turn down the money. It's not likely there will be a criminal bribery investigation. We talk about a blind item story we chose not to cover directly. Instead we linked to coverage from Lainey and Just Jared. The most interesting angle about that was the BI suggested that the prince has moved on from his former mistress to a new girlfriend who is London-based. William and Kate went to the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham with Princess Charlotte this week. The big news was that Kate wasn't wearing her engagement ring, although she's still wearing her wedding ring. We also heard that, like their appearance at Wimbledon, they arrived separately. William and Charlotte took a helicopter there and Kate took the train, where she chatted with a child. It really looks like they're living apart now. Kate is also covering People Magazine with a sugary story about how she's learned so much from Queen Elizabeth and is ready to be queen. It's all about Kate because covers with William don't sell. There's a new documentary coming to HBO called The Princess, which just is archival footage of Princess Diana. The BBC agreed last week to never again air footage from Princess Diana's Panorama interview after pressure from Prince William. The Dyson investigation, which found that Diana was tricked by Martin Bashir to give the interview, was completed in May, 2021. The BBC was recently sued by Tiggy Legge-Bourke, a royal nanny whom Diana claimed had an affair with Charles. Prince William mischaracterized that interview after the Dyson investigation. Diana's biographer, Andrew Morton, gave a recent interview stating that Diana didn't say anything to Bashir she hadn't already told her friends. Omid Scobie said the same thing in his column, that William is trying to muzzle his late mother and that the royal family still has the same issues Diana brought up. Dane Cook: Minutes 19 to 22 Dane Cook is a 50-year-old comic who was in a movie with Jessica Simpson and is known for stealing jokes. He just got engaged to a 23-year-old woman named Kelsi Taylor who he's been with for five years, so from the minute she was legal. People are really side-eyeing their relationship now that they're engaged because he mentioned them being “friends first” and meeting her at one of his game nights before she was 18. At least she has a job and friends outside of the relationship. I play a segment from Zoom where we talked about this. Comments of the Week: Minutes 22 to end My comment of the week is from TarteAuCitron on the post about Donald Trump burying Ivana on his golf course in New Jersey. Chandra's comment of the week is from dina on the post about Kansas voters upholding abortion rights. Thanks for listening bitches!
Introduction: Minutes 0 to 6:30 We'll be off the next two weeks, June 25th and July 2nd. We will have an episode out on July 9th and then will be off on July 16th and 23rd. I've been sick, but thankfully my covid test came back negative. I've been watching Imposters on Netflix. Chandra is happy that Serena Williams is coming to Wimbledon this year. Royals: Minutes 6:30 to 33:45 Order of the Garter and Royal Ascot: Minutes 6:30 to 14:30 This week we had the ceremony for the Order of the Garter, the third highest knighthood. Duchess Camilla was inducted. At the ceremony Kate wore a blue McQueen coatdress that was apparently new. Prince William got headlines for looking glum but he always looks like that. The Queen was not there but we got a photo of her with Charles and Camilla which The Royal Family posted on their Instagram. She didn't wear the robes because she's too frail now. We also had Royal Ascot this week. Sophie and Beatrice looked fug in unique ways. Charles and Camilla were also there. The big story was that Carole Middleton wore an ugly pleated pink shirt dress to Royal Ascot that her daughter, Duchess Kate, had worn in Scotland. Chandra remembers when Kate wore one of Carole's dresses ten years ago. Prince Andrew: Minutes 14:30 to 17:45 Prince Andrew is a Knight of the Garter and we heard in late May that both he and the Queen would be at the service. He was listed in the printed Order of Service for the Order of the Garter ceremony and his attendance was announced by the press. At the last minute he was barred from the public-facing events although he was still there behind the scenes. The Sun reported that Charles and William lobbied the Queen to get Andrew removed. Omid Scobie had a column about how Andrew is getting mixed signals from the royal family. Royal charity appearances: Minutes 17:45 to 25:15 Will and Kate attended the Grenfell memorial ceremony. Most of the crowd was in green, “Green for Grenfell,” but Will and Kate didn't wear anything green at all. We wonder if that was deliberate or not. I play a segment from Zoom where we talked about that. We also heard that Meghan left a voicemail for the Hubb Community Kitchen, the organization that she worked with to release the cookbook to benefit the Grenfell community. They posted on Facebook that she left them a sweet message. In return they got hate comments on Facebook. They also shut down their Instagram. There were new photos of Duchess Meghan at an after school program for girls and non-binary youth in Amsterdam called Project Fearless. She visited them in April when she was there for the Invictus Games. The organization held on to the photos until their anniversary. Cambridge move: Minutes 25:15 to 30:15 As we've been talking about for months, the Cambridges are planning a move. They finally settled on a place on the Windsor estate called Adalaide Cottage. This will be their third property as they are keeping Anmer Hall and their apartments in Kensington Palace. The children will going to go to a private coed school in Bucklebury, a 45 minute drive away. We assume Kate and the kids will spend a lot of time with her parents, who live in Bucklebury. The Cambridges are pushing the narrative that this is a modest four bedroom home, that they will have no “live-in” staff and that the place doesn't need renovations. We assume Will and Kate will be living apart. It's curious that the Cambridges were putting out feelers for Frogmore House, Fort Belvedere or Royal Lodge but were given this smaller home. I play a segment from Zoom where we talked about this. Kate's big discussion: Minutes 30:15 to 33:45 Kate did an event where she talked about the Early Years with British politicians. All the photos are of Kate looking businessy. The writeup is so superficial and ridiculous it reads like a parody. The purpose of this meeting was for an awareness campaign. Comments of the Week: Minutes 33:45 to end Chandra's comment of the week is from Beth on the story about the Persuasion adaptation with Dakota Johnson. My comment of the week is from Lucy on the post where James Patterson said old white men were being discriminated against. Thanks for listening bitches!

Introduction: Minutes 0 to 5:30 We'll have episodes out for the next two weeks and then we'll be off for two weeks. We're also taking two weeks off in July because I'm moving. Both of us want new cars but we're waiting on that. Chandra has been watching the French Open and is happy that American Coco Gauff will be in the final. Royals: Minutes 5:30 to 29 Duchess Meghan made a quiet visit to the Uvalde memorial and she brought food to blood drive volunteers, who had no idea who she was. One woman said she thought Meghan was a neighbor and that Meghan was sweet. Meghan seems to prefer to do quiet, respectful work on the ground. After we heard that Harry and Meghan were going to the Jubilee there was so much hysteria about whether they would pull a “stunt,” if they would overshadow the Queen and if would bring Netflix cameras despite the fact that Netflix didn't request a press pass. It's all very predictable. We also heard that the Sussexes likely arranged with the Queen to spend Lilibet's first birthday with her privately. The Cambridges are going to be in Wales for Jubilee events on that day. It's clear that the two couples are being kept apart. The Sussexes arrived in England on Wednesday night by commercial flight and were greeted at the airport by armored SUVS and the Queen's protection service. It's interesting how Harry got security for this visit considering that he is fighting in court for protection while in the UK. For Trooping The Color they were not on the balcony but watched from the Major General's Office. Meghan was photographed wearing a wide sun hat with a giant bow and she wore a cute cap sleeve dress. Prince William, Prince Charles and Princess Anne arrived to the Jubilee on horseback in full military regalia while The Queen and her cousin, The Duke of Kent, watched from the balcony. Chandra saw some tweets about that which cracked her up. The balcony was very subdued this year. The Queen, The Cambridges and their kids, Camilla and Charles and the Duke of Kent and his wife were there. Sophie, Edward and her kids were on the balcony but they were pushed to the side. More of the royal family, especially the children, should have been included. Kate, Camilla and the Cambridge children arrived by carriage. Kate wore a white McQueen coatdress with shoulder pads that she last wore to the G7 last year. George wore a suit with a blue tie, Charlotte had on a blue dress and Louis was in a sailor outfit that William wore as a child to a Trooping the Colour in the 1980s. I play a segment from Zoom where we talked about the royals. In a section we recorded on Friday, we talk about the Jubilee service. Both couples came without their children. Meghan was wearing a Dior belted coat that looked cream in photos but was actually pale lilac. She looked rich and expensive. Kate was wearing a yellow Emilia Wickstead with a weird criss cross high waistline. Her Philip Treacy hat was in a saucer shape and had floral embellishments underneath. Chandra doesn't think it's the same hat she wore to Harry and Meghan's wedding. Zara Tindall was in a fuchsia dress that was so fug! Eugenie was in an orange short sleeve dress and Beatrice had on a pleated blue dress with little white buttons down the front. It was like she stole Kate's style! Several outlets including The Daily Mail and People said that the body language between the Cambridges and Sussexes at the service was tense. The Daily Mirror reported that the Sussexes went to Clarence House before the service, so they spent some time with Charles and Camilla. The Queen is not going to the horse race on Saturday the 4th so Chandra thinks the Sussexes and their children will visit her. Omid Scobie has been doing great analysis of the royal family in his new Yahoo UK column. The verdict We talk about a recent court verdict Comments of the Week My comment of the week is from Crowhood on the post about Jana Kramer having an affair with her married Dancing with The Stars partner. Kaiser's comment of the week is from Amy Bee on the post about the Archbishop of Canterbury saying Andrew wanted to make amends. Thanks for listening bitches!
Introduction: Minutes 0 to 6:30 We recorded on Wednesday this time due to my schedule. We'll be off next week and back on June 4th and 11th hopefully. Chandra is watching Shining Girls on Apple+ and really likes it. She's also watching The Essex Serpent but is not sure about it. Royals: Minutes 6:30 to 25:00 On the Friday after we last recorded, the Sussexes confirmed through their spokesperson that they would be attending the Jubilee and would be bringing their children. Chandra was surprised that they're coming but not that they're skipping the balcony. Just prior to that announcement there was an official statement from the Queen that the balcony would be reserved for working royals. It's very likely this was Harry's idea so they could avoid that media circus. Omid Scobie reported that sources have long said that Harry doesn't want to be on the balcony. There's been a lot of hand-wringing about how the Sussexes are going to pull focus from the Queen along with the concern that they're going to bring Netflix cameras with them and will film at Frogmore Cottage. Chandra thinks the Sussexes will be respectful, but that they are filming a docuseries about their work, which was reported by Page Six after we recorded. The Queen did not go to the opening of Parliament this year due to mobility issues. That was attended by Prince Charles and Prince William. William had to walk behind Rose Hanbury's husband due to his role holding the Crown. William looked really mad but he always looks like that. There have been assurances that The Queen is in control of her faculties and is still making decisions, however it's unclear how much of her Jubilee she'll attend. She first canceled her appearance at the Royal Windsor Horse show last weekend, but she eventually showed up and was using a cane. She went on both Friday and Sunday to see the events. On Tuesday she was at Paddington station with Edward to open a new line called the Elizabeth Line. Queen Elizabeth was the first person to buy a ticket for the line during that appearance. A Black transit worker came to help the Queen use a touchscreen. When the man came close to her Edward touched him on the arm and told him to step back! It was demeaning and rude. Prince William went to the Football Association Cup final at Wembley Stadium last weekend. He was booed loudly by the crowd as he shook hands with the teams to open the match. Omid Scobie tweeted that some Liverpool fans blame the FA for mishandling the investigation of the Hillsborough disaster, which was a fatal overcrowding of an FA final in 1989 resulting in 97 deaths. Liverpool people also hate Tories for good reason and William is a Tory stooge. Some MPs condemned Liverpool fans for booing William while Liverpool's manager said the fans “wouldn't do if there was no reason.” Charles and Camila are now doing their whirlwind tour of Canada and there's not much interest in them. They seem to be trying to fly under the radar. There was a report on MSN that has now been pulled that Kate and William are separated. It's based on a translated report from a European tabloid and is likely just speculation based on what we've already heard, but it rings true given what we know about their living situation. The British tabloids have been building a case that they are separated. Comments of the Week: Minutes 25:00 to end My comment of the week is from Love Gossip on the story about Elon Musk making excuses about why he can't move forward with the Twitter purchase. Chandra's comment of the week is from Valerie on the same story. Thanks for listening bitches!
Introduction: Minutes 0 to 6:30 We will have episodes out for the next two weeks and will be off on April 23rd. I'm surprised to hear that the Grammys are Sunday. Chandra was sick last week with a GI illness that's been making the rounds. Royals: Minutes 6:30 to 18:00 Introduction: Minutes 0 to 6:30 We will have episodes out for the next two weeks and will be off on April 23rd. I'm surprised to hear that the Grammys are Sunday. Chandra was sick last week with a GI illness that's been making the rounds. Royals: Minutes 6:30 to 18:00 Last week when we were off the Cambridges had their royal tour of the Caribbean. We thought it would go poorly but it went so much worse than we expected. They had multiple photo ops where they reminded people that they're out of touch colonialists. They got dumped live on camera by the Jamaican Prime Minister and they did the standing up riding in the Jeep photo op after that. It was so bad that mainstream international media was picking up the story. We will see less royal tours after this and there are rumors of an inquest as well. William's final statement about the tour sounded angry that it didn't go as he expected. Kate's fashion and appearances were an embarrassment. Her fashion is sending a message that she wants to return to a bygone era. I play a segment from Zoom where we talked about this. We wonder if the Jamaican prime minister's hand was forced by how badly William and Kate were doing on the tour. Charles set them up all along, like Chandra has been saying. Prince Charles and Camilla did a little two day victory lap tour of Ireland toward the end of the Cambridges' Caribbean tour. We also had the memorial for Prince Philip this week. That was similarly a disaster because The Queen was accompanied by Prince Andrew. This was her idea and she insisted on it according to the press. Other sources said that it was Andrew's idea and he pushed it on the Queen. A lot of the royal family and many European monarchs came to the memorial, but of course Prince Harry wasn't there. Rose Hanbury was there though. Harry was criticized for choosing to stay home despite the security situation. We're looking forward to the Invictus Games, which start on April 16th. Oscars and Will Smith: Minutes 18 to 36:30 We had the Oscars over the weekend and there were no upsets in the major categories. We're so happy that CODA won Best Picture. The ceremony was bloated with nonsensical clip montages and tributes to various movies. Chris Rock presented Best Documentary, which went to Questlove for Summer of Soul. We loved that movie! Watch it on Hulu if you haven't seen it yet. Chris made an awful joke about Jada Pinkett Smith in his stupid opener. The Academy can't get their story straight about whether they knew about the joke or whether Chris adlibbed it. After that Will walked up to Chris, smacked him with an open hand, returned to his seat and said “keep my wife's name out of your f'ing mouth.” I thought it was a bit at first but soon learned it really happened. Chandra remembered that Chris has been targeting Jada for years. Jada has alopecia and has been open about the fact that she's sensitive about her hair loss. Tanisha, who used to write with us as Oya, has alopecia and covered some of the stories about Jada's hair loss. I play a segment from Zoom where Tanisha, Zakia, Jasmine, April and Ameerah talk about this. Chandra points out that the Academy handled this incident poorly and should have done something to diffuse the situation. Denzel Washington, Tyler Perry, Bradley Cooper and Nicole Kidman were comforting Will and Jada. Will's publicist talked to him in the audience. There are competing reports as to whether the Academy asked Will to leave. Will's Oscar speech afterwards was raw and emotional. In the story about Jim Carrey condemning Will Smith, Chandra asked white people to leave space for people of color. We got hate mail and hate comments for that. Chandra appreciated how people were deferential to Denzel in the aftermath of the incident. Comments of the Week: Minutes 36:30 to end My comment of the week is from Mika on the post about Prince Andrew thinking he's young and should get another chance with the public. Chandra's comment of the week is from Byzant on the post about Kate preening at the memorial. Thanks for listening bitches!

Introduction: Minutes 0 to 8:45 Chandra loved CODA, but wishes that The French Dispatch and Cruella got more attention this year. We both saw Summer of Soul and want it to win Best Documentary. Chandra is watching The Golden Age and loves it. I play a segment from Zoom where we talk about The Golden Age. Jane Campion: Minutes 8:45 to 17:30 Power of The Dog won Best Picture and Best Director at the BAFTAs, Critics Choice and at the Directors Guild Awards. Oscar voting runs from March 17th until the 22nd. Although Power of The Dog might have been considered the frontrunner for Best Picture and Director after it won so much, that has hopefully changed after director Jane Campion put down Venus and Serena Williams in her speech at the Critics Choice Awards. On Monday Campion issued an apology. I play a segment from Zoom where we talked about this. Zakia pointed out that Venus and Serena got a standing ovation when they presented King Richard and that's why Jane Campion tried to take them down. We hope that Power of The Dog doesn't win at The Oscars. Royals: Minutes 17:30 to 31:00 Last week we talked about Prince Williams' racist gaffe during a visit to the Ukrainian Cultural Centre with Kate in which he said “it's very alien to see this in Europe.” The palace refused to issue a follow up statement or clarification. William didn't go to the BAFTAs last Sunday even though he's the honorary president. The Cambridges are still planning that Caribbean tour which is scheduled for March 19th to the 26th. Chandra wonders if The Cambridges are being set up to fail because Jamaica wants to leave the commonwealth. Prince Harry is promoting the Invictus Games, which will take place at The Hague from April 16th to The 22nd. We got a cute video of him trying to speak Dutch to organizers over Zoom. Harry is not planning to visit the Queen when he is in Europe and is not planning on attending the memorial for Prince Phillip on March 29th. Chandra thinks Harry will try to see the Queen around his trip. Sophie, the Countess of Wessex, was in New York for four days but got hardly any attention because no one is interested in her. She brought her own photographer which is good since none of the photo agencies bothered to cover her appearances. On Tuesday she delivered a keynote speech at the UN at the Upholding Women's Rights in Afghanistan event. The big event this week was the Commonwealth Service, which was on Tuesday at Westminster Abbey. The Queen was not there. The only royals who attended were Kate, William, Camilla and Charles. The 2020 Commonwealth Service was legendary. Kate and William went to the annual St. Patrick's Day parade for the 1st Battalion Irish Guards. We talk about dog breeds. I want a dog that doesn't shed and isn't so big it has a lot of poo to pick up, but can hike with me. (We didn't talk about this but my mom is telling me to get a Havanese. She also likes Greyhounds and she has a Miniature Schnauzer.) Comments of the Week: Minutes 31:00 to end My comment of the week is from Megan on the post where Kanye worried that Pete is going to get Kim hooked on drugs. Chandra's comments of the week are from Feeshalori, equality and Sue E Generis on the post about the Cambridges' Caribbean tour. Thanks for listening bitches!
