Introduction: Minutes 0 to 8:45 We plan to record about once a month for now. I love the show Berlin ER on Apple TV, it's a lot like The Pitt, which I'm also watching. We were disappointed in the ending of Severence. Chandra is excited for the finale of The White Lotus. Royals: Minutes (8:45) to 33:00 Meghan released her As Ever collection this Wednesday morning. She had shortbread cookies, jam, tea and flower sprinkles. Everything was sold out within an hour. I bought the jam and some lemon ginger tea and Chandra got two teas and a jam. People were mad about how quickly everything sold out. Meghan also launched a commission-based ShopMy page with clothing, makeup and skincare. A woman named Sophie Chandauka has taken over Prince Harry's Lesotho-based charity, Sentebale. Harry co-founded it with Prince Seeiso of Lesotho in 2006. Both Harry and Prince Seeiso resigned from Sentable in late March. The majority of the board of trustees resigned several days before the announcement. Chandauka spent over 400,000 pounds on consultants, lost a major sponsor, and demanded a 300,000 salary, which was not granted. She also failed to fundraise for them and alienated the board as she pushed her way to the top. It was a hostile takeover and was aided by a man named Iain Rawlinson, a former trustee of Prince William's charity, The Tusk Trust. Chandauka and Rawlinsin did an interview together on Sky News. Chandra wonders when Rawlinson started manipulating Chandauka. He was seen at a Sentebale event in October. In her Sky News interview, Chandauka's main example of Prince Harry bullying her was when he resigned from Sentebale after she threatened to sue them. Chandauka spouted Windsor talking points against Harry in an interview with the Financial Times. She also was mad that Meghan and Serena Williams showed up at the charity polo match last April. Chandauka blamed Prince Harry for her failure to fundraise for Sentebale despite the fact that he donated 1.5 million from his proceeds from Spare and that the polo match raised over a million also. She's the woman whom Meghan asked to move during a group photo at that match, giving her a more central place instead of on the side next to Harry. The press made a huge deal out of this at the time and Harry emailed or texted Chandauka asking her to make a statement in defense of Meghan. She refused and now sources are saying that if the email got out it would be damaging to Harry. If so, why don't they release it? The British press's reaction in early March to Meghan gently telling Mindy Kaling that her last name was Sussex revealed so much. The British charity commission is investigating what happened at Sentebale. The trustees have spoken on the record about how abrasive Chandauka is. There's an ongoing narrative that Prince Harry is lonely, that he never should have left England, that he should come back to England. He's probably relieved to be away from these toxic people. We're excited for the second season of With Love, Meghan and hope she does seasonal episodes. Meghan's podcast Confessions of a Female Founder comes out April 8th. Prince William is going to be on Jeremy Clarkson's reality show, Clarkson's Farm. You might remember Jeremy Clarkson's horrible screed against Duchess Meghan. It's also notable that Will and Kate disappeared this week. Comments of the Week: Minutes (33:00) to end Chandra's comment of the week is from Jais on the post about Meghan's As Ever product launch. My comment of the week is from Lightpurple on the story about Cory Booker's marathon Senate speech. Thanks for listening bitches!
Introduction: Minutes 0 to 11:00 I watched Paradise with Sterling K. Brown on Hulu and didn't like how it ended. Chandra felt the same way about Feud: Capote vs. The Swans. I love The Pitt on HBO. We've both been watching Severance and love the performances. Chandra is watching The White Lotus and recommends Court of Gold on Netflix. I watched Heretic but don't recommend it. Oscars: Minutes 11:00 to 19:00 We had the Oscars this week and Chandra's favorite movie, Anora, won the most awards. We're glad Mikey Madison won for best actress over Demi Moore. Demi won plenty of awards and didn't go home empty handed. I wish that June Squibb was nominated for best actress for Thelma, my favorite movie of 2024. It takes a ton of money to campaign for an Oscar. Royals: Minutes 19:00 to 36:30 Since we last recorded we had the Invictus Games in Canada and Duchess Meghan's show With Love, Meghan came out. Last week, before the release of With Love, Meghan, Kate and William visited Wales and were such obvious copy-keens. They visited a cake shop and “made” cakes and Kate was sure to mention her jam and said she'd give the recipe to someone. Then we got a weaksauce story from a royal expert claiming Kate didn't marry for a title, but Meghan did. There's been a real silence from the palace as they figure out how to copy Meghan. I remember when Kate copied Meghan's Zoom background. With Love, Meghan is a sweet comfort watch where she makes food and does crafts with her friends. I've watched the first five episodes so far. Chandra has watched the whole thing and loves the episodes with Roy Choi and Vicky Tsai. It was cute to see Meghan interact with her friend Abigail Spencer. We talk about some of our favorite recipes including the salted fish and fried chicken. We recorded this episode before the news that With Love, Meghan got a second season. Chandra wants Roy Choi to go on again. She thinks the vocal critics of the show have never watched a cooking or lifestyle show. The critics want Meghan to be all things at once. In season two we hope they don't change things too much and just make little tweaks. Meghan was very smart this week about her PR including being on the cover of People. I play a segment from Zoom where we talked about With Love, Meghan. Comments of the week: 36:30 to end Kaiser's comment of the week is from EmpressCakey on the post about Ione Skye's new memoir. My comment of the week is from Jess on the post about Jennifer Garner thinking Ben Affleck has a dark side. Thanks for listening bitches!

Introduction: Minutes 0 to 4:00 I am recovering well from a hysterectomy. Chandra had a stomach virus last weekend which is why we didn't publish on Sunday Oscar nominated movies we watched: Minutes 4:00 to 13:30 There are no spoilers in this section. We both loved Conclave as we discussed in the last episode. I want it to win best picture. I saw Emilia Perez before the controversies and I really liked it. We both saw Wicked. Chandra liked it more than I did. She loved Anora and wishes that Mikey Madison would have done a bigger Oscar campaign. We both hated The Substance and wonder why it's getting so much buzz. We both saw A Real Pain and liked it. We wonder why Denzel Washington wasn't nominated for his performance in Gladiator II. Chandra liked Maria and was hoping Angelina would be nominated. She saw A Complete Unknown and thought Timothee Chalamet was great in it. I highly recommend Day of The Jackal on Peacock and am watching Paradise on Hulu. We're both watching the second season of Severance. Royals: Minutes 13:30 to 22:15 In early January we got the announcement of Duchess Meghan's new lifestyle show on Netflix called With Love, Meghan. She's also back on Instagram. Her show was supposed to premiere on January 15th, but was delayed until March 4th due to the terrible wildfires in Los Angeles. NGN settled with Prince Harry on the day the trial was supposed to start. If Harry hadn't taken the settlement, it would have altered the case. This was a win for Harry since NGN admitted guilt. Harry's security case is still in the courts. The Invictus Games are going to be February 8th to the 16th in Vancouver. We hope Meghan is there most of the time, but we'll see. The Vanity Fair cover story on Harry and Meghan came out a couple of weeks ago. It's very similar to the British narrative we've been hearing about their relationship for years now, and it's insidious and despicable. Chandra wrote some good analysis about how the piece was meant to tear Harry down before he testified against NGN. Princess Kate and Prince William have done so many events this week. Kate's surprise visit to Royal Marsden hospital on January 14th was curiously timed. Politics: Minutes 22:15 to 29:30 Following the horrific plane collision between a US Army helicopter and a commercial flight, Trump did a press conference and blamed DEI policies. Both the plane crash and the response by Trump were predicted by a University of Maryland political science professor. He tweeted on January 29, a day before, that there weren't enough air traffic controllers and that Trumpers would blame a crash on DEI. Trump had recently fired the head of the FAA and put a hiring freeze on air traffic controllers. We're frustrated at people asking Democrats to do something. It will probably take some time before people realize that they were wrong to vote for Trump. Comments of the Week: Minutes 29:30 to end Chandra's comment of the week is from SussexWatcher on the post about Prince William visiting a farm. My comment of the week is from Rai on the post about Chappell Roan. I didn't delete the comment I was responding to, it was just at the bottom and I missed it when we were recording. Thanks for listening bitches!

Introduction: Minutes 0 to 5:00 I've been dealing with chronic pain. I watched Agatha All Along and loved it. Chandra doesn't like Kathryn Hahn, which I understand. Chandra highly recommends the movie Conclave. Poltics: Minutes 5:00 to 15:00 Trump won the election and it was a shock to put it lightly. We both believed that Kamala Harris was going to win. She ran an impeccable campaign. She was so on message, she was clear about her objectives, she had a literal to-do list and she emphasized inclusion and moving forward together. We're so disappointed in people. Here's the tweet from Baltimore's mayor that I mentioned. We don't think there's a way that Kamala could have run a better campaign, she was so disciplined. We're happy that Kamala won in our state of Virginia. Royals: Minutes 15:00 to 23:30 Since we last recorded, Charles and Camilla went on an anemic tour of Australia. Prince William went to South Africa for his Earthshot ceremony, tried to look statesman-like and failed. He got booed there. We remember how Camilla spread covid. Chandra mentions that Queen Elizabeth caught covid right after Charles and Camilla did. Prince Harry and Meghan purchased a villa in Portugal, where Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank live. It turned out that this was a very smart decision, since Trump has threatened to deport Harry. We talk about RFK Jr potentially removing flouride from the drinking water. Trump is credited with helping fund the vaccination rollout, but he can't take credit for it because his base is antivax. We remember when Trump talked about getting vaccinated and got booed. Comments on the Week: Minutes 23:30 to end Chandra's comment of the week is from Whyforthelove on the post about Kamala Harris losing the election. My comment of the week is from pottymouth pup on that same post. Thanks for listening bitches.
Introduction: Minutes 0 to 7:15 We recorded on Friday this week instead of Thursday as usual. We both loved the Olympics and talk about our favorite events and athletes. Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni: Minutes 7:15 to 18:45 Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni are costarring in the film This Ends with Us. The book is by Colleen Hoover and it's been criticized as romanticizing domestic abuse. I've read that the movie does the same thing. Justin Baldoni is directing the film, he bought the rights and hired a screenwriter. People noticed that he skipped the London premiere and that he hasn't posed with Blake Lively or done press with her. They also noticed that Blake and the author Colleen Hoove unfollowed Justin on Instagram. The Hollywood Reporter said that Lively and Baldoni's feud started in post-production, when Blake commissioned a separate edit of the film. Chandra thinks that Justin's edit is likely the one that made it to theaters. Blake's husband Ryan Reynolds also rewrote a key scene. THR next reported that Blake screened her own edit of the film at a book event for Colleen Hoover in June. It looks like she tried to take creative control of the film. At first we got vague stories that Baldoni created a difficult work environment. The stories about why people hate him were suspicious to me. He also is said to have made Blake feel bad about her postpartum body. Baldoni has hired the same PR crisis management firm that Johnny D-pp and Brad Pitt use. TMZ then reported that Blake felt uncomfortable around Justin because he kissed her too long in a scene and because he asked her trainer how much she weighed since he had to pick her up and has a bad back. An older interview from 2016 recently came out where Blake and Parker Posey were meangirling a Norwegian interviewer, ignoring her and talking to each other instead. This is how Blake has always been. Blake has been promoting the movie like it's a frothy romance and Justin is being serious and measured in his promotion. His production company has partnered with an anti domestic violence foundation and he has been talking about ending the cycle of abuse. Royals: Minutes 18:45 to 25:15 None of the major royals went to the Olympics in Paris. Will and Kate just recorded a brief video congratulations with celebrities afterwards. They didn't congratulate any of the individual athletes. The Daily Mail recently reported that Kate is still undergoing preventative chemotherapy, that she's still recovering and that we probably won't see her until Remembrance Day. This is the type of story we get about Kate every six months. Earlier this month the Sussexes gave an interview to CBS Sunday Morning on behalf of their new initiative through Archewell called The Parents Network, to provide support and resources for parents to protect their children from online harm. They included parents who had lost children to online bullying and to drugs purchased online. It's a great cause. Meghan was asked about her past suicidal ideation, which she opened up about during her interview with Oprah. I play a segment from their CBS Sunday Morning interview. Harry and Meghan have been working on this cause for some time. A couple of weeks ago it was reported that the Sussexes have accepted an invitation to visit Colombia. We didn't realize it would happen so soon. Harry and Meghan are in Colombia now and the photos and videos coming out are incredible. They're so warm and natural with people. They have been meeting with the Vice President Francia Marquez, they went to a theater performance and participated in a panel about Internet safety. Marquez saw their Netflix series and that's why she wanted to meet Meghan! Politics: Minutes 25:15 to 33:30 While we were off, Kamala Harris chose Minnesota governor Tim Walz as her running mate. Chandra thinks that Harris has a soft spot for dorky white men. We loved Harris and Walz's joint video interview. We hope she does more cooking videos. We want Harris to go on Hot Ones. Trump has been having a meltdown over Harris. He called her beautiful in that lispy interview with Elon Musk and may be conflicted about her for that reason. He hates being called weird. The Kamala HQ coms department does such a great job. Comments of the Week: Minutes 33:30 to end Chandra's comment of the week is from Agnes on the post about Brad Pitt and George Clooney covering GQ magazine. My comment of the week is from Beana on the post about Mark Zuckerberg commissioning a seven foot statue of his wife, Priscilla Chan. Thanks for listening bitches!
According to the Daily Express,Kate Middleton is considering a trip to Paris next week with her husband to attend some Olympic competitions. Princess Anne and her husband, Sir Timothy Laurence, are currently representing the British Royal Family at the event. Princess Anne, a former Olympian and member of the International Olympic Committee, also serves as the President of the British Olympic Association.A source close to Catherine told the Daily Express, “The Princess would love to go to the Olympics. She has such fond memories of London 2012 and is keen to go to another Games while it's so close to home.”Meanwhile, as semi-experts in Royal Watching, we'll think the chances just greatly increased as the Waleses and the Sussexes fight for tabloid space.Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan are preparing for their next international venture, announcing plans for a trip to Colombia from August 15 to 18. This will be their first joint visit to the South American nation, where their focus will be on supporting mental health activism and promoting safer online environments for young people. The couple was invited by Colombia's Vice President Francia Márquez, who outlined their itinerary in a statement. "During their trip, The Duke and Duchess will join me in visiting Bogotá, as well as the Caribbean and Pacific regions of Cartagena and Cali,” Márquez said. “In these vibrant locations, they will have the exceptional opportunity to engage with leaders, youth, and women who embody the aspirations and voices of Colombians committed to progress. In addition to these meaningful interactions, The Duke and Duchess will experience the rich heritage of Colombia.”This visit to Colombia marks the Sussexes's third joint international trip this year, following their previous trips to Canada in February and Nigeria in May. Introduction: Minutes 0 to 6:30 We're glad we took last week off. I've been watching Dark Matter on Apple TV with Joel Edgerton and Jennifer Connelly. Chandra watched Bridgerton season three and Late Night with the Devil. She also loved Kendrick Lamar's live concert. Royals: Minutes 6:30 to 25:15 We got a photo and announcement from Princess Kate last Friday. She said she would be at Trooping but we did not expect to really see her. We wonder who has been making the decisions at Kensington Palace. We have heard for weeks that we shouldn't expect to see Kate until the autumn and maybe not all year. Her appearance at Trooping was a big surprise, especially since she missed the rehearsal. We wonder why so many fake videos and photos were released of Kate the past few weeks. The narrative after Kate's appearance was typical. Allison Pearson at the Telegraph ran a fawning over the top piece about how amazing Kate was for showing up at Trooping. The subtitle of the piece was “When lesser mortals would have stayed at home, Catherine proved that the show goes on.” It looks like Kensington Palace has taken over the messaging again as it's very tone deaf. Kate is covering People Magazine this week. King Charles' biographer Catherine Mayer gave the quote that “However difficult, or otherwise, this has been for Kate, appearing was an act of service under the terms of the institution she is part of.” Meghan sent jam and dog biscuits to Harry's best friend Nacho Figueras. Nacho posted photos of his dog, I think it's a whippet, next to the biscuits and the jam, which was labeled 2/2. Meghan was just sending a gift to a friend, it's not like she was doing it to overshadow Kate. Instead there was an article in the Daily Beast with a source who said “You just have to ask yourself, who would set out to ruin a cancer-sufferer's day? It is absolutely pathetic.” It's likely Meghan sent that jam days before anyone knew Kate would go to Trooping. I play a segment from Zoom where we talk about the royals. We saw Carole and Michael Middleton at Royal Ascot. This was surprising, because there were stories as of late last week about how they didn't even pay the insolvency firm that helped them restructure and sell Party Pieces. Kate did not go to Royal Ascot and she also didn't go to the big Order of the Garter investiture ceremony earlier this week. She let everyone know that she would not be at those ceremonies. She's expected to be at Wimbledon in early July. Comments of the Week: Minutes 25:15 to end Chandra's comment of the week is from sevenblue on the post about Kendrick Lamar's live concert on Amazon prime.Kendrick has been making hip hop history. My comment of the week is from lanne on the post about the details of Justin Timberlake's DUI arrest. Thanks for listening bitches!
Introduction: Minutes 0 to 4:45 We will be off next week due to Memorial Day. I finished watching From on MGM+ and also watched Blown Away on Netflix. Chandra remembers the show Flea Market Flip with Ali Wentworth on HGTV. The documentary she remembers is called Craft in America and was on PBS. Royals: Minutes 4:45 to 25:30 Last week, as we were recording, the news had just come out that the Sussexes were going to be in Nigeria the next day. There were so many stories, pictures and videos of their visit, but it was mostly limited to Getty and social media. Their visit was announced late, and we think that was to keep British journalists from traveling to Nigeria to cover their tour. It was hard to source stories and photos, but we loved that they weren't being held up by protocol. They gave a lot of personal time to the causes and people they visited. Meghan was declared a princess of Nigeria by four kings. That was such a moving gesture and you could tell Meghan was touched. Nigeria pulled out all the stops for the Sussexes. People love the Sussexes because they are so genuine. During their tour they were getting invitations from other countries to visit. I play a segment of Meghan's speech at the Women in Leadership panel in Nigeria. There was a lot of racism and toxicity in the British press around that visit. Nigerian Twitter united to call it out. It seemed like Buckingham Palace gave the press the go ahead to attack the Sussexes. We've also heard that Charles is trying to block Harry and Meghan from visiting more commonwealth countries, similar to how Charles tried to block the Bidens from being hospitable toward them. We mentioned in our last episode that Charles had scheduled a handover event to give William the title of colonel in chief of the Army Air Corps, which was Prince Harry's regiment when he served two tours in Afghanistan. That little event happened, William cosplayed as Harry, dressed like him and took a ride in an Apache helicopter. The optics were terrible, because William wants to be Harry and falls short in every way. The Sussexes are covering this week's People and it's such a contrast to last week's weird cover story that centered how William was coping with his wife's illness. There are direct quotes from Harry and Meghan saying how well they're doing and that they're going to plan more visits. I play a clip from Zoom with Karen, Zakia and Ameerah, where we talked about the Nigerian tour. Like Karen mentioned on Zoom, the Sussexes got a lot of gifts. Of course there are calls for them to give them back. The British press is trying to make it sound like they got extravagant gifts. Chandra remembers when Camilla was gifted diamonds by the Saudis. Archewell was briefly “delinquent” with their registration in the state of California, but that was a simple mixup by the Attorney General's office which lost a check. The check was sent by certified mail and was delivered. Governor Newsom spoke out on their behalf. This week we also saw more of William's alleged one time mistress, Rose Hanbury. She was at the Badminton Horse Trials where she was photographed with Camilla. Rose and her husband, David Rocksavage, were also at an OBE service where their son was the page for Charles and Camilla. Comments of the Week: Minutes 25:30 to end Chandra's comment of the week is from Sunday on the post about Rose Hanbury's reemergence. My comments of the week are from Harla A Brazen Hussy and StellainNH on the post about King Charles' new portrait by Jonathan Yeo. Thanks for listening bitches!

Introduction: Minutes 0 to 10:00 We'll be off next week due to the Emmy Awards. I have been watching dumb shows like a mini golf competition show called Holey Moley. Chandra watched so many of the prestigious movies over the break including Killers of the Flower Moon, Priscilla, The Holdovers, Saltburn, Past Lives, Asteroid City, Joy Ride, Anatomy of a Fall, Oppenheimer and the Indiana Jones movie! She loved Anatomy of a Fall and is rooting for that movie. It's a character story and legal drama with a smart script. She also liked The Holdovers and Oppenheimer, but hated Killers of the Flower Moon. Golden Globes: Minutes 10:00 to 17:45 The Globes were last Sunday. Host Jo Koy bombed and the celebrities gave him a frosty reception. The big TV winners were Succession and The Bear. Oppenheimer won Best Picture – Drama and Poor things won for Musical or Comedy. Barbie won for a new category called Cinematic Achievement. We appreciate how Greta Gerwig took a risk on Barbie. The biggest stories from the Globes were about the cutaway scenes. Kylie Jenner and Timothee Chalamet did not walk the carpet together but they sat together. They seemed so into each other and kept kissing. Selena Gomez was caught on camera gossiping to Taylor Swift and Miles Teller's wife Keleigh. A lot of people thought she was saying that Kylie refused to let Selena take a selfie with Timothee but a source told People that wasn't true. Selena made a comment later that “I told Taylor about two of my friends that hooked up.” There are rumors that it's Meryl Streep and Martin Short! I hope it's happening but Martin's rep said they're just friends. Also at the Golden Globes there was a mini Suits reunion. Patrick Adams, Gabriel Macht, Gina Torres and Sarah Rafferty presented. I saw an interview where Gabriel acted like he didn't know who Meghan was. Gina Torres said in another interview that they don't have Meghan's phone number and she's not on the group chat. Some people think that Gina was fibbing to cover for Meghan. Chandra mentions that the Suits cast is protective of her. Of course she was invited to the Globes. Royals: Minutes 17:45 to 22:00 The Epstein Files came out recently. I downloaded the first batch and they were mostly court documents for Virginia Guiffre's case. Prince Andrew is heavily implicated. Prince Charles is reportedly worried about Andrew but plans to make him pay for security and the renovations to Royal Lodge, which Will and Kate want for themselves. There is a story that Charles is never going to evict Andrew, but that sounds straight from Andrew. William is said to want Charles to come down harder on Andrew while Charles probably doesn't want to rock the boat. Comments of the Week: Minutes 22:00 to end Kaiser's comment of the week is from Erin on the post about the SAG nomination snubs. My comment of the week is from Blue Nails Betty on the post about doing less in 2024. Thanks for listening bitches!
Introduction: Minutes 0 to 6:00 We should have an episode out next week and will be off three weeks for the holidays. I watched a cult documentary I paid $4 for on Amazon called The Deep End. Chandra is watching The Gilded Age and still loves it. Royals: Minutes (6:00) to 24:00 As we mentioned last week, the Dutch translation of Omid Scobie's Endgame named the racist royals who had concerns about the baby's skin color. Harry and Meghan first mentioned that in their Oprah interview and did not name the royal racists. To recap, Meghan named the two royal racists in her correspondence with Charles, but those names were not in any of the editions of Endgames except the Dutch one. Scobie claimed he never submitted a book that had their names in it. He said that most of the Fleet Street reporters know who they are, however. Scobie's publisher, HarperCollins, is going to conduct an inquiry as to how the names got into the Dutch translation. We know Meghan has the receipts. Meanwhile the royals are doing the most to show they're not racist except own up to it. Kate's dodgy uncle Gary did a column for The Daily Mail where he defended Kate by saying she can't be racist because he and Kate's mom grew up in West London. Sir Kenneth Olisa, the first black Lord-Lieutenant of London, also defended the royals. The Daily Mail has said that the royals are taking a “charm offensive” approach to the racism allegations. Kate opened a new Children's Day Surgery at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital in London this week where she was photographed with people of color. Charles, William and Kate also had crisis talks. These seem to have worked somewhat in that coverage is no longer focused on Endgame. The Telegraph claimed a royal source is urging the Sussexes to defend the Windsors against the racism claims. This is ridiculous considering the Windsor's "recollections may vary" response to the Oprah interview. Meanwhile Omid Scobie was asked in a BBC interview if he would apologize to the Windsors. Harry's old friend Hugh Grosevenor, the Duke of Westminster, is getting married this June. Hugh is close to Harry and William and is Louis's godfather. An initial report from Roya Nikkhah in The Times claimed that Hugh didn't invite Harry and Meghan to his wedding to “avoid a family clash in the House of Windsor.” Then the Daily Mail and The Telegraph did follow ups claiming that Hugh was sad about having to snub the Sussexes but that it's all Harry's fault. Page Six blew the lid off all that when they said that Harry got a “save the date” card for Hugh's wedding a few months ago and then called Hugh to tell him it was best that he didn't go. This was very tacky of William to use the Duke of Westminster to bash his brother. We wonder how the aristos will get get back at William. We also wonder if William will ever be king. Comments of the Week: Minutes 24:00 to end Chandra's comment of the week is from girl_ninja on Taylor Swift's Time Magazine person of the year article. My comment of the week is from DaveW on the post where Angie Harmon said her daughters play Rizzoli and Isles for her dogs when she's away. Thanks for listening bitches!

Introduction: Minutes 0 to 3:30 We should have an episode out next week and then we'll be off on October 28th. I recently discovered a British woman on YouTube who feeds the foxes in her suburban neighborhood. I also love videos of huskies. Here's a link to the video I mention where the husky is complaining and the German Shepherd is chill. (The husky has since passed over the rainbow bridge.) Here's a link to the video Chandra mentions of the Husky who refuses to come in after it snowed. Chandra loves this interview with Daniil Medvedev from after he beat Alcaraz at the US Open. There's also a cute interview where he's doing a puzzle. Chandra is going to watch the Beckham docuseries. Royals: Minutes (3:30) to 20:00 Harry and Meghan were in New York City as part of their work with the Archewell Foundation for World Mental Health Day. They were in a terrible car chase with the paparazzi the last time they were in New York, in May. This time they brought a security team. Chandra thinks some of that security might be NYPD. The British press was snarky about their security. Harry and Meghan visited a school in Brooklyn and also took part in a discussion with at the World Mental Health Day Festival with families of children have been bullied online. They were on a panel with US Surgeon General Vivek Murthy. The Sussexes have been advocating for regulating social media for a long time. We remember Facebook whistleblower Frances Haugen's testimony in Congress in late 2021 and Mark Zuckerberg's testimony in 2018. Congress is not regulating these awful social media companies because they have no clue. I pay a segment of Meghan's discussion on that panel. Chandra does not think Meghan will return to Instagram. We remember when her friend posted a photo of avocado toast and the press connected it to war and drought. The Waleses hired an entertainment producer, Pippa Harris, as director of their Royal Foundation. Pippa runs a production company with director Sam Mendes and is one of the producers of Call the Midwife. We're surprised that show is still running after 12 seasons but we both only watched the first two seasons. The story about William hiring Harris was written by Richard Eden and framed as if Harry and Meghan would be jealous of William. It was ridiculous. William's private secretary is leaving after the news that William wants to hire a CEO. Kate hasn't had a private secretary in over a year. She tried to hire someone but that woman quit before she started. The Waleses went to Birmingham for World Mental Health day where they spoke to young people. I thought Kate's speech was a little better than usual, but Chandra says she hasn't improved. William just gave basic examples of improving mental health like getting outdoors and talking to friends. The Royal Foundation also commissioned a survey of 3,000 young people on how mental health is important. Kate went to Nottingham Trent University to talk with students about mental health. She wore a cream Sezane sweater and skirt that was very Meghan. Kate and William also stepped out for an event with SportsAid, one of Kate's patronages. They talked to young athletes about mental health. Kate wore a blue Zara blazer and jeans. I say the royals need to redistribute their wealth and Chandra agrees. The royals own so much land and have massive wealth. Chandra mentions that William is no longer talking about housing the homeless on duchy property. Comments of the Week: Minutes (20:00) to end Chandra's comment of the week is from Chaine on the post about William's favorite emoji. My comment of the week is from Miranda on the post where Aaron Rodgers said he wanted to debate Travis Kelce. Thanks for listening bitches!
Introduction: Minutes 0 to 6:00 I've been watching Los Espookys on HBO Max and I love it. Chandra says this season of What We Do in the Shadows was really good. She also watched the US Open and loves Coco Gauff and Daniil Medvedev. Royals: Minutes 6:00 to 22:45 The Invictus Games are happening in Dusseldorf. Last week we mentioned that Prince Harry stopped briefly in the UK to attend the Wellchild Awards. He also visited his grandmother's crypt at St. George's Chapel in Windsor to quietly pay his respects on the anniversary of her death. He tried to stay under the radar but of course the royal rota threw a fit and said he was trying to upstage William. Meanwhile William and Kate were over an hour late to their event honoring the Queen on the anniversary of her death. Harry got a standing ovation in Dusseldorf and was greeted by the mayor. He's getting glowing coverage in the German press, especially now that Meghan is there. The Windsors are doing a ton of events as counterprogramming. Will and Kate were on Mike Tindall's rugby podcast, and the reporting afterwards was that they “torpedoed Harry's launch of the Invictus Games with the release of a podcast featuring them and Princess Anne.” They always do things with Harry and Meghan in mind. Kate's entire look at the Rugby World Cup was a copy of Meghan's at the Invictus Games opening a year prior. Kate visited a prison and wore a fluffy new wig that the press praised the next day. We also heard she had a meeting. William did an event for suicide prevention and mental health issues affecting construction workers. Meanwhile the royals have not acknowledged Team Briton or the Invictus Games, although they're trying to partially take credit for it by stating that Harry started it through the Royal Foundation. Meghan joined Harry at the Invictus games on Tuesday and attended her first event on Tuesday night. She was in a black Banana Republic shirtdress. On Wednesday Meghan wore a cardigan from J.Crew and dress shorts. She's also worn black jeans with a black sleeveless top and white jeans with a white sweater vest. She is doing her own hair and makeup. Thursday, Meghan and Harry did an event with Nato personnel. Meghan wore a silky brown blouse and dress pants. Chandra's favorite outfit she's worn is her travel outfit. The Nigerian team has given Meghan a traditional Nigerian name. She's been embraced by Invictus competitors and attendees. There are photos of Meghan holding Taira's hand, the Ukrainian Invictus competitor who was held in a Russian prison camp. The British royals haven't acknowledged the British Invictus team with a tweet or message or reception and even the British press is noticing. The British defense minister is there and has been in meetings though. We remember the story about how the British government pressured the Bidens not to support the Sussexes. The Windsors are so obvious with the stunts they're pulling. Comments of the Week: Minutes 22:45 to end Chandra's comment of the week is from GirlNinja on the post about Kate's wig. My comment of the week is from Indica on the post about how the FDA found phenylephrine is ineffective. Thanks for listening bitches!
Introduction: Minutes 0 to 7:45 We both loved Heart of Invictus except for one veteran. There are spoilers for the series up until minute 7:45. Royals: Minutes 7:45 to 17:30 The Invictus Games are coming up in Dusseldorf with competitions starting this Sunday September 10th. We record on Thursday afternoons. At that point Harry was in the UK to attend the WellChild Awards, although he did it in stealth mode and we didn't know when he arrived. We've heard that Meghan isn't coming to the Invictus Games until later in the competition. Now that Harry is in the UK, William did his first event after two whole months off. The Waleses are also scheduled to attend the Rugby World Cup this weekend. Last week Harry and Meghan went to see Beyonce, Meghan went twice, once with Harry and her mom and Abigail Spencer, and another time with other A-listers for Beyonce's birthday concert. Harry went to the Inter-Miami soccer game in LA. It's clear they're doing fine. As those stories were breaking there were multiple stories about how bitter Kate still is about Meghan, Kate will never forgive Meghan for some vague reason that keeps changing, and how Meghan doesn't want to come to the UK because she doesn't want to curtsey to Kate! It turns out Meghan doesn't technically have to curtsey to Kate anyway. The Suits creator has revealed that when Meghan was in her last year on the show, when she was dating Harry and before they were engaged, the palace was reading the scripts and controlling her lines. Celebrity Divorces: 17:30 to 24:45 There are two big celebrity divorces happening, Kevin Costner and Christine Baumgartner and Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner. Costner has been ordered to pay 63,000 a month to Christine, which is much less than the $168K she was asking for. He's trying to smear her in court and online and it's clear to us from the new commenters that he's hired a PR firm and is using bots for that. Joe Jonas filed for divorce from Sophie Turner. They've been married four years and have two children, Willa, three, and a second daughter whose name we don't know who is 14 months old. He's 34 and she's 27 and they've been together since she was 19. Joe is trying to push the narrative that Sophie is partying but he basically couldn't hack being a full time dad when she went back to work in England. There's an interview Sophie did with Conan during lockdown where she said she's a homebody and Joe is the social butterfly. The latest news is that Joe supposedly saw ring cam footage where Sophie was quote “saying and/or doing something that made him realize the marriage was over.” He was spying on her and that's super creepy. The whole Internet is on Sophie's side. Comments of the Week: 24:45 to end Chandra's COTW is from Brassy Rebel on the post about how the Windsors are unpopular. My COTW is from wordnerd on the post about Meghan Trainor telling her brother to get Botox. Thanks for listening bitches!
Introduction: Minutes 0 to 6:00 We'll be off for two weeks and we plan to have another episode out on September 9th. I have been watching Cold Case Files on Netflix. Chandra doesn't like true crime stuff but likes the ones about fed up women. She watched the new Unsolved Mysteries and the UFO story disturbed her. I watched a UFO documentary called Moment of Contact that really convinced me. Chandra has been watching the Cincinnati Open and her favorite player, Daniil Medvedev, is out. Novak Djokovic is back in the US despite still being unvaccinated. Royals: Minutes 6:00 to 22:30 Last weekend Meghan was photographed wearing a sticker on her inner wrist from a company called NuCalm. If it helps people and isn't super expensive it seems harmless. I emailed NuCalm support to ask if the disc vibrated and they said “There are no vibrations or anything that you will feel while wearing the disc. You will notice the disc will help you feel more mellow, relaxed, or calm, but there are no physical sensations that come from the disc.” The NuCalm CEO said Meghan isn't being paid for this. We wish she would get paid as the company is marketing themselves off her wearing it. We also got to see a photo of Meghan out with her girlfriends. She looks so young and radiant and it's nice to see her happy! Last week we talked about Meghan being seen out at a Taylor Swift concert in LA. I'm sure it's just a coincidence, but Kate went to a concert too you guys! Chandra thinks the purpose of the story was to associate Kate with Rose Hanbury. The music festival was on the Houghton estate, where Rose and her husband, David Rocksavage, live. We heard all about it along with the fact that Kate drank spicy margaritas and that their party left a 700 pound tip. Maybe the point of those stories was that William and Rose are no longer hooking up. The Women's World Cup final is taking place this weekend in Australia between England and Spain. Prince William, the president of the English Football Association, isn't going to attend. We don't know where he is as he hasn't made an appearance since early July. We wonder how this will affect Australia's position within the Commonwealth. We got the first trailer for Prince Harry's Heart of Invictus series. It's a five part docuseries with one hour episodes and premieres on August 30th. It looks so heartwarming and I got teared up! Last week we talked about the Royal.gov.uk site removing Prince Harry's HRH titles from articles about him. There was an article in the Daily Mail stating that of course Harry and Meghan's titles haven't been removed and that the Letters Patent hasn't been annulled to do this. We've talked a lot about how the British press hypes the next big royal event and talks out of both sides of their mouths about whether the Sussexes should come. Charles doesn't invite Harry directly but tells the press he'd like him to come. They're now using that same strategy for Charles's 75th birthday coming up in November. Britney Spears: Minutes 22:30 to 25:30 Note that we recorded this before the story came out about Britney allegedly abusing Sam. Britney Spears and Sam Asghari are breaking up after just over a year of marriage and almost seven years together. Britney cheated and now Sam is allegedly threatening Britney. Comments of the Week: Minutes 25:30 to end Chandra's comment of the week is from Pinkosaurus on the post about Kate being the power behind the throne. My comment of the week is from K on the post about Leonard Bernstein's family defending Bradley Cooper's prosthetic nose in the biopic about him. Thanks for listening bitches!
Introduction: Minutes 0 to 3:45 I saw Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem and loved it! Chandra is watching What We Do in the Shadows and says it's great this season. I am jealous of Canadians. Royals: Minutes 3:45 to 11:00 Prince Harry is in Japan this week to attend the International Sports Promotion Society Summit in Tokyo. He talked about sports being transformative and healing, which he sees through his work in the Invictus Games. Harry and Nacho Figueras posted a cute photo from Japan with the caption that they were shopping for their wives. They're headed to Singapore to play polo. This is to support Harry's charity Sentebale. To pull focus from Harry doing something when they're all on vacation, the Windsors decided to remove his HRH style from articles about him. Reports say they're just updating the website after the Queen's death, but taking His Royal Highness away from Harry was given priority over other necessary updates. Chandra thinks the press was briefed about this to pull focus from Harry's trip. It's so petty and obvious. While Harry is away Meghan was seen at one of Taylor Swift's six LA concerts. She also reportedly went to see Barbie with friends. William and Kate are going to honor the Queen at an appearance for her death anniversary. At first sources said Harry and Meghan have an open invitation to Balmoral, then we heard that they weren't invited to the memorial. Next there was a story about how there was no memorial planned, and the latest is that Kate and William will lead the tribute to the Queen. Natalie Portman: Minutes 11:00 to 16:00 In June we heard that Benjamin Millepied had been cheating on Natalie with a 25-year-old woman. We just got the announcement that they have separated after 11 years. In June Natalie was wearing her wedding ring. Us Weekly had some insider quotes that they were working on their marriage, but that they ultimately couldn't work it out. A lot of people are pointing out that when Benjamin got into a relationship with Natalie he had a live-in girlfriend. Comments of the week: Minutes 16:00 to end My comment of the week is from ThatsNotOkay on the post where Jennifer Aniston called Jamie Foxx anti-Semitic. Chandra's comment of the week is from Olliesmom on the post about Clarence Thomas receiving millions worth of travel from Republican donors. Thanks for listening bitches!
Introduction: Minutes 0 to 13:00 We took two months off, thanks for understanding! While we were off DListed shut down and I took that hard. We respect Michael K so much and we miss Dlisted. We have three new writers, Carina, Kismet and Rosie. We both saw Barbie and loved it. Neither of us have seen Oppenheimer. I liked The Blackening and Chandra saw the movie Showing Up with Michelle Williams and can't stop thinking about it. Celebrity divorces: Minutes 13:00 to 23:30 We talk about the recent celebrity divorces including Kevin Costner, Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello, and Ariana Grande. Royals: Minutes 23:30 to 32:00 Omid Scobie's Endgame is coming out in November and we're looking forward to that! He is one of the only royal reporters who fairly reports on Harry and Meghan. The British press is going after him and we hope he's living his best life. Suits, Meghan's USA series that aired from 2011 to 2019, is one of the top shows on Netflix. People are like “wow Meghan can act, she's incredible” and the British press are trying to spin it like Americans hate her, which is ridiculous. We just got a new video of Harry and Meghan in their courtyard congratulating the winners of the Responsible Technology Youth Power Fund over the phone. It's really cute and they both look so rich and unbothered. I'm sure we'll get articles about how they're trying to pull focus from Prince William serving veggie burgers. Chandra thinks Kensington Palace is trying to bury the veggie burger video because it was all staged. The Sussexes are covering both People Magazine and US Magazine this week. They're said to be having business problems, which surprises me because they have so many successes. The Spotify debacle highlighted their need for a communications team. They've been speaking through sources instead of issuing official responses to Spotify's trash-talking. We hope they get an excellent communications team. Comments of the Week: Minutes 32:00 to end My comment of the week is from Peanut Butter on the post where Stephen Amell tried to dial back his anti-union comments at a fan convention. Chandra's comment of the week is from Kitten on the post about Trump being indicted. Thanks for listening bitches!
Our guest was saying so many insightful things about Meghan and Harry that we had to put 5 mics on her! The echo is to symbolise how racism and colonialism still echoes across the world years after its supposed abolition...
Introduction: Minutes 0 to 6:00 I've been watching Yellowjackets and I like it but I'm mad at the characters. Chandra and I are both watching Ted Lasso. Here's a link to the Jezebel article she mentioned about it. Chandra loves Succession. Royals: Minutes 6:00 to 25:30 While we were off we heard that Harry will attend the coronation alone and that he will only go to his father's hat ceremony. There was so much lead-up about whether Meghan would come. The Sussexes' children aren't even invited. Chandra thinks Charles got what he wanted. Of course they're saying Meghan is snubbing Charles, but they are relieved that she's not coming. We also heard a lot about how mad Prince William is at Harry as usual and that he's not going to talk to him or even look at him at the coronation! Prince Harry is suing the Rupert Murdoch-owned newspapers, News Group Newspapers, for hacking and hiring private investigators to get dirt on his girlfriends. In a recent filing for that lawsuit, Harry revealed that William accepted a private settlement from NGN in 2020. Harry also revealed that there was some sort of backdoor deal between the senior royals and NGN in 2012. Harry kept all of this out of Spare and we wonder how he found out about it. We think he may have omitted it from Spare for legal reasons. This week we also heard that Meghan and then Prince Charles exchanged letters after the Oprah interview. Charles wrote to her first saying he was upset that she talked about an unnamed senior royal speculating about the color of their baby's skin. They had a warm exchange about it but nothing was resolved. Meghan never revealed this in her Netflix series or in interviews. She was blamed for leaking this story about the letters, which she denied. Chandra wonders who told the royal reporters that Meghan is the one who leaked this. She thinks it was William. We wonder who the royal racist was and think it was probably both William and Camilla. There was a line in the original article from the Telegraph that was deleted from subsequent versions which read that “she does still consider the comment to be racist.” Harry has talked about unconscious bias several times. Meghan appeared for the first time in weeks in a recorded introduction for her friend photographer Misan Harriman's Ted Talk. We also got to see Harry and Meghan in a private box at the Laker's game earlier this week. Meghan looks so happy and healthy. The Sussexes looked very connected as always and yet GB News ran a story afterwards that they were leading separate lives. The woman who wrote that is married to Piers Morgan. We wonder why Piers Morgan was seen out with Beatrice and Eugenie. To sign up for our mailing list, please visit the post for this podcast. You can also open one of our stories in an incognito window and you will get a popup for the mailing list. Comments of the Week: Minutes 25:30 to end My comment of the week is from Becks1 on the post about Meghan Trainor saying F teachers on her podcast. Chandra's comment of the week is from Tiffany on the post about Glen Powell and his girlfriend Gigi Paris breaking up after Glen got cozy with Sydney Sweeney on the set of their new romcom. Thanks for listening bitches!
Introduction: Minutes 0 to 11:30 We will be off the next two weeks. I saw a bunch of the Oscar nominated movies. My favorite was All Quiet on the Western Front, but it's not for everyone. We both loved The Fabelmans and thought it was a positive movie for the most part. I also saw Cocaine Bear and loved it. We don't think Judd Hirsch warranted an Oscar nomination for his performance as it was excellent but very short, but Michelle Williams definitely did. I couldn't get into EEAAO but we're happy for the nominated actors and think they should win. Royals: Minutes 11:30 to 23:00 The main news this week is the fact that Charles is kicking Harry and Meghan out of Frogmore Cottage. Chandra didn't think Charles would make such an obvious and vindictive move. He did it just one day after Spare came out. Prince Andrew is being asked to leave Royal Lodge, which William wants for his family, and being offered Frogmore Cottage. There are plenty of other royal properties where these people could move. Andrew doesn't want to leave his estate. The Sun reported that the eviction issue has been going on for the past seven weeks, which means that all of the stories about whether Harry would come to the Chubbly came out after he was told to vacate Frogmore. Omid Scobie confirmed this in his reporting and the Sussexes' spokesperson has confirmed it as well. The Telegraph reported that the Sussexes are in “ongoing negotiations” about whether they will be reimbursed for the cost of renovations. It looks like Charles wants to change the conversation after he got so much bad press for meeting with the EU President. Sources have claimed that this is a financial decision on Charles' part and that he's trying to “reduce the size of the royal estate.” This argument doesn't make sense, as the Crown Estate will have to spend money to reimburse the Sussexes and Prince Andrew for leaving their homes. It looks like Charles is using William's demand to move into Royal Lodge as an excuse to kick out Harry and Meghan. There was a story by Rebecca English in the Daily Mail that the Waleses are living “cheek-by-jowl” with just four bedrooms at Adelaide cottage and a source said “The kids go to playdates at houses far bigger and grander than theirs.” They have three other properties currently. Before that news broke, we got a lot of stories about Camilla and how special and important she is. She's going to go by Queen Camilla, she's going to have equal billing in the Chubbly and her grandchildren are going to be given official roles in the ceremony. She's even trying to push her 47-year-old son, Tom Parker Bowles, as a replacement for Prince Harry. Comments of the Week: Minutes 23:00 to end Chandra's comment of the week is from anna on the post about how no artists want to play at the coronation. My comment of the week is from Beach Dreams on that same story. Thanks for listening bitches!
Introduction: Minutes 0 to 4:00 We were off last week as I was sick. I'm watching 911: Lone Star and The Last of Us. Chandra saw Aftersun, which seemed like a student film. She loved The Fabelmans and Wakanda Forever. Royals: Minutes 4:00 to 22:00 Kate tried to counter one of Meghan's really mild points about her in the Netflix documentary and in Harry's book – that Kate didn't hug her. Instead of owning that she's not a hugger, Kate has been hugging people. In case we didn't get the message, there was an article with a quote from former Brexit leader Nigel Farage that Kate didn't hug Meghan because she “only hugs people she likes.” There was also a story that Kate hiring a new private secretary was “revenge on Meghan.” Meghan has never said that Kate's staff is incompetent but these stories are giving that message. Kate wore a classic Meghan look when she went to a senior center on Fat Tuesday to make pancakes. A photo of Kate flipping a lumpy pancake went viral, but it likely wasn't her fault and may have been due to the burner or batter. Last week South Park ran an episode featuring the Sussexes. The British press was like “Americans hate Harry and Meghan!” but many of us were surprised it's still running. After the Sussex episode was met with glee, people pointed out that South Park skewered Will and Kate too after their wedding. The British press kept running stories about how upset Meghan was at South Park and how the Sussexes wanted to sue them. Their spokesperson finally shut it down with a simple statement. The British press is doing the most to bait Harry into coming to the coronation on May 6th. We've heard that Charles just won't have the time to meet with Harry, that Harry is still deciding whether to come and The Daily Mail is saying that it won't matter whether Harry and Meghan come or not because they can't win either way. I play a segment from Zoom where we talked about whether Harry will go to the Chubbly. Chandra thinks the Sussexes are still deciding whether to go and if Harry goes he'll bring Meghan and the children. She mentions a story from last week where Harry wouldn't come to the Chubbly if he thought it would be as toxic as his grandmother's funeral. Comments of the Week: Minutes 22:00 to end My comment of the week is from Fuzzy Crocodile on Peridot's post about Lil Nas X adopting kittens. Chandra's comment of the week is from StLuGal on the post where Evangeline Lilly revealed what an a-hole she is. Thanks for listening bitches!
Introduction: Minutes 0 to 5:00 We will have an episode out next week and will be off on February 11. I've been watching The Last of Us. Chandra is watching the Australian Open. Royals: Minutes 5:00 to 19:30 Reactions to Spare are focused on Meghan and wondering where she is instead of addressing Harry's explosive claims, particularly about the press. We would love to read Meghan's memoir and hear her take on some of these stories. The royals are sending other people to do their dirty work. A woman named Marjorie Wallace, who founded a mental health charity and worked as an investigative journalist, claimed Meghan is “playing the victim card” by discussing her suicide ideation on the Harry and Meghan docuseries. Wallace is friends with Charles and Camilla. A mixed race Opera singer named Danielle de Niese claimed Meghan was calling the entire country of Britain racist, which de Niese said “hasn't been my experience.” Danielle de Niese is married to a white aristocrat and they live on a huge estate that's been in his family for generations. That column was by Richard Eden and Chandra wonders if he was putting words in de Neise's mouth. The Guardian sent a journalist to Montecito, where it sounded like Harry and Meghan have a quiet life of doing normal things like shopping and going to shows. A local bookstore had sold 30 copies of Spare, and this was somehow news despite the evacuation in Montecito. It was hard for me to listen to Harry talk about how much he drank and did drugs. The media keeps asking where Meghan is but they berated her and nitpicked everything she said when Archetypes was airing. Princess Kate has assembled a team of advisors to her Royal Foundation Centre for Early Childhood. She's going to meet with them a whole two times a year. They released a one and a half minute video from that and I could barely hear what she was saying. Chandra thinks she has improved since the time she introduced Jill Biden. Kate and William also graced a Windsor food bank with their presence since they couldn't be bothered to announce a donation or bring anything with them. William brought the Earthshot finalists to Windsor after failing to invite them to the awards ceremony in Boston. Virginia Giuffre's one year gag order in her settlement from Prince Andrew is about to run out. She's the woman raped by Andrew when she was trafficked to him at 17 by Jeffrey Epstein. She has reportedly signed a memoir deal worth millions. There are stories that Andrew inherited millions from his mother's estate and has a “war chest” he's going to use to fight Giuffre in court. Andrew reportedly wants to use his HRH title privately in business dealings. Oscar nominations: Minutes 19:30 to 24:00 We got the Oscar nominations and there are some surprises. Both Viola Davis and Danielle Deadwyler got snubbed in the Best Actress category while Ana de Armas got nominated for Blonde and Andrea Riseborough got a nomination for To Leslie. It's another case of Oscars so white. There are also no women nominated in the Best Director category. We hope Brendan Fraser wins Best Actor over Austin Butler. Chandra loves Tar but I don't have a movie I want to win Best Picture yet. Comments of the Week: Minutes 24:00 to end My comments of the week are the responses to Lolo86lf on the post about Sean Penn and Robin Wright reuniting. Chandra's comment of the week is from Nixie on the post about Gerard Pique going Instagram official with his new piece. Thanks for listening bitches!
Introduction: Minutes 0 to 4:30 We'll be off for at least two weeks and maybe we'll be back on January 7th but we're not sure. Harry's book Spare comes out January 10th. I've been watching Acapulco on Apple plus. Chandra is looking forward to Glass Onion and season three of Emily in Paris. Royals: Minutes 4:30 to 28:30 We just finished volume two of Harry and Meghan. Volume one was mostly about their love story. We got some sputtering responses from the British press along with the story about how much William hates Meghan for taking Harry away from him. The takeaway from the second half of the series was that the Sussexes were getting briefed against. The royal reporters were previously open about getting briefed from the palaces but are now denying it. We now know that Harry's line in the trailer about his brother being willing to lie to protect himself was about William signing Harry's name to a statement after the Sandringham Summit that William never bullied Harry. Harry and Meghan truly wanted to continue to work for the royal family. They would have worked as much as they were able, but they were a threat to other members. It was hard to hear that Meghan thought people would take her at her word in the Oprah interview when she disclosed that she was suicidal. That was ignored and the headlines instead focused on how Harry and Meghan accused the royal family of being racist. The British press will do the same thing in their reaction to this docuseries. Chandra was surprised that the racism in the press wasn't called out more. Harry and Meghan also didn't get into the stories about Meghan supposedly making Kate cry and about who the royal racist was. They barely addressed the story of Meghan allegedly bullying staff. We think the Sussexes went easy on the Windsors here. Chandra appreciated that Meghan's lawyer disclosed that Jason Knauf helped the Mail on Sunday in Meghan's lawsuit against them for publishing her father's letter. Meghan said “that's your brother” when William texted Harry, but the contents of that text weren't disclosed. We would have liked to have heard more dirt on Will and Kate. Tyler Perry really stepped up to help Harry and Meghan when Charles leaked their location in Canada, they were surrounded by paparazzi and Charles pulled their security. We were moved by how Perry described the royal family as batterers and how he recognized the abuse that Meghan was suffering. Harry said that he had six weeks before the press found out they were in Canada and that they had six weeks at Tyler Perry's house before the press found out as well. That doesn't seem to be the case because we found out from Dan Wootton at the Sun on March 27th that the Sussexes were in LA, just two days after we learned that Charles had covid. We think Charles's office leaked the news that the Sussexes were in LA. We're impressed with how well the docuseries lays out everything with the Sussexes. The first half was familiar to us, but there was a lot of new information from the exit on. We remember how we heard that the Sussexes's security was being pulled and how there was hand-wringing over whether Canada or the US would have to pay for it. There were a lot of tangents the docuseries could have taken. They didn't even touch William's affair. We wonder if Meghan is still close with Jessica Mulroney. We wonder why Finding Freedom wasn't mentioned at all. We remember the People cover story that Abigail Spencer said she arranged to help set the record straight about Meghan. The letter Meghan wrote to her father was mentioned in that article and Chandra thinks that was the impetus for him to leak it to the Mail. The docuseries barely touched on all the charity work the Sussexes do. They're good people who work hard and connect with people. The word is getting out about them to the general public. Comments of the week: Minutes 28:30 to end My comments of the week are from Lala11_7 and Mcmmom on Hecate's post about Jennifer Coolidge saying there's real power in not giving a f-k as you get older. I talk about having reading glasses all over my house. We think Harry looks cute in his reading glasses. Chandra's comment of the week is from Jais on the post about Omid Scobie's next book, Endgame. Thanks for listening bitches

Introduction: Minutes 0 to 7 We'll have episodes out for the next two weeks and will be off December 24th and 31st for the holiday. My dog has been doing great at the dog park. We've both been watching Wednesday and love it. Chandra's mom got covid but she's on the mend. Royals: Minutes 7:00 to 35 Will and Kate got booed at the Celtics game when they were shown on the Jumbotron. A Black reverend mentioned the legacy of colonialism and racism at one of their events, which the British tabloids saw as an attack on Will and Kate. Before this tour we had so many lead-up stories hyping what a big deal it would be and how it was William's Super Bowl moment. We wonder why they made this comparison, which makes no sense. Chandra thinks it's because Harry went to the Super Bowl. We also heard that the Earthshot Awards would be better than the Ripple of Hope awards, which are honoring the Sussexes. The NY Times quoted a Boston University historian who said that the Waleses need to “maintain a sense of relevance” and “justify their existence.” Meghan did a speech in Indianapolis at a fundraising dinner for the Women's Fund of Central Indiana. It had a media blackout so all we got was a photo and some eyewitness accounts. She also helped serve Thanksgiving lunch for the Downtown Women's Center in LA and donated 500 purses to her British charity, Smart Works. We got a teaser for Harry and Meghan's Netflix docuseries. It looks amazing and we're glad it's just called Harry and Meghan. We got new photos of them in the trailer and some brief statements. It looks like it has the same energy as Harry's Apple series, The Me You Can't See. We remember some of the scary things that have happened to Meghan when she was in the UK. The biggest story this week is about an activist named Ngozi Fulani who was invited to a reception at Buckingham Palace held by Camilla. Fulani founded Sistah Space, which supports African and Caribbean heritage women affected by domestic violence. While at the event, Fulani was accosted by one of Camilla's aides named Lady Susan Hussey, who touched her hair, repeatedly asked her where she was from as if she didn't belong, and wouldn't accept her answer that she was a British national. Hussey resigned after this and Camilla's office issued a statement calling this “unacceptable and deeply regrettable” and claiming they reached out to Fulani, but that was not true. Fulani has said in interviews that we shouldn't vilify Hussey and that she's an elder, but that's not an excuse for racism. She also said the palace is taking the easy way out by letting Hussey resign. Fulani would be happy to hold diversity training for the palace. Hussey is Prince William's godmother and said to have been Queen Elizabeth's favorite lady-in-waiting. She's 83 years old and Charles personally asked her to stay on after the Queen passed. She's also quoted by Tom Bower in his Revenge book saying that the Sussexes would “end in tears.” The royal family knows who she is and gave her a platform. At least two other women were with Fulani when this happened. One was Mandu Reid, Leader of The British Women's Equality Party. She did an interview where she described what happened. Reid said that this shows how the royal family needs to acknowledge institutional racism and commit to changing the culture. I play a segment from her interview where she explained how this corroborates Harry and Meghan's account. On one hand it's funny to see the royals expose themselves yet again, but on the other we feel terribly for Fulani and others who have had to deal with this racism. We're excited for Harry and Meghan's docuseries and Harry's memoir. Comments of the Week: Minutes 35:00 to end My comment of the week is from SideEye on the post about Camilla's staffer being racist. Chandra talks about people questioning where she's from. Chandra's comment of the week is from ElleV on the post about the White House Christmas decorations. Thanks for listening bitches!
After Queen Elizabeth passed a couple of months ago (RIP!), Prince Charles automatically ascended the throne - but typically, the new monarch's coronation doesn't happen for around a year, out of respect for the former monarch. The shocking thing is King Charles' coronation has been announced - and the date will be May 6, 2023. The reason this is full of drama is because this also happens to be Archie's (his grandson) birthday and people are speculating that it's a dig at Harry and Meghan, who haven't exactly been model royals. This week we deep dive into the details and fight tooth and nail on who the asshole here is: is it Meghan for having dug a hole with the royal family leading them to disregard the birthday of the king's grandson or is it King Charles for choosing royal pettiness and intentionally picking his coronation to overshadow his grandson?Don't forget to follow us, review our podcast and subscribe on our socials!Twitter: @BasicandBrainInstagram: @TheBasicandTheBrainTikTok: @thebasic_and_thebrainWebsite: thebasicandthebrain.com Hosted on Acast. Introduction: Minutes 0 to 2:00 We'll be off for the next two weeks and will be back on December 3rd. We talk about our Thanksgiving plans. Royals: Minutes 2:00 to 26:30 Chandra is five episodes in to The Crown. She wrote about Mou Mou, the fourth episode that goes into Mohamed Al-Fayed's backstory and connection to the royals. It's fascinating that Peter Morgan dedicated an episode to introducing the Al-Fayed family. The royals, with the exception of Diana, treated Mohamed terribly. This week, when Prince Charles and Camilla were visiting York, a 23-year-old man in the crowd threw eggs at them and missed. He also shouted “this country was built on the blood of slaves!” Camilla and Charles were taken away but everyone seemed unbothered and the security seemed lax. The man has been charged with a “public order offense.” There are photos of Charles earlier in the week talking to people while viewing eggs for some reason. Princess Kate went alone to her patronage the Rugby World Cup, and she visited the Colham Manor Children's Centre outside London where she spoke to staff about maternal mental health. We also heard that she's going to do a second Christmas Carol concert with ITV. We talk about all the junk we order online. Mike Tindall is on the reality show I'm a Celebrity Get me Out of Here. Sources told the press that Tindall did not clear it with King Charles ahead of time. Chandra doesn't think he should have to since he's not a working royal. Meghan's podcast examined The B Word as she calls it. She won't say the word bitch and we obviously can't relate. We love that she interviewed Robin Thede. We also got a photo of her with an “I Voted” sticker. We want Archewell merchandise. There was a story in Christopher Andersen's new book, The King: The Life of Charles III, claiming that Charles told a friend he didn't know Meghan was biracial when he first met her. I play a segment from Zoom where we talk about the royals. Chandra loves Olivia Williams as Camilla on The Crown. The actress playing Princess Anne, Claudia Harrison, is also very good. Dominic West has been giving interviews half praising and half shading King Charles. Elon Musk and Twitter: Minutes 26:30 to 30 Last week we talked about Elon Musk buying Twitter after he borrowed money and was leveraged to the hilt. This week he fired thousands of Twitter employees and a bunch of them are suing him in a class action suit for breaking employment law. He also endorsed a Republican Congress and he tweeted a meme featuring a Nazi soldier. Former twitter executives are saying he has no clue what he's doing and he's been sh-tposting constantly. He also implemented an extra checkmark, an “official” checkmark, that only lasted a few hours. Elon Musk is tanking Twitter. Comments of the Week: Minutes 30:00 to end Chandra's Comment of the Week is from BayTampaBay on the post about Penelope Knatchbull and Prince Philip's relationship. My COTW is from Abicci on the post about Rihanna's Savage x Fenty Show. Thanks for listening bitches!
Introduction: Minutes 0 to 8:00 We'll have an episode out next week and then we'll be off on November 20th and November 27th for Thanksgiving in the US. I got my dog a treadmill. Chandra saw Top Gun and Nope. Royals: Minutes 8:00 to 26:00 We got a new video with the Crown cast featuring clips from the upcoming season. The palace's attack on the Crown is making it sound epic. Dominic West, who plays Charles, gave an interview saying that the tampon phone call will be sympathetic and portrayed as lovers' banter. We're still hearing about Harry's memoir, which we talked about last week. In a petty move, King Charles appointed himself Captain General of the Royal Marines. In his statement he didn't mention that Prince Philip or Harry had the role before him. The Windsors are also reportedly worried about the book tour and promotion, which they should be. Chandra doesn't think Harry will go to the UK to promote the book. Meghan's podcast this week was about the expectation for wives and mothers to do it all and featured Pamela Adlon, Sam Jay and Sophie Trudeau. Pamela Adlon's talk really resonated with me. Chandra couldn't relate as she's childfree and doesn't have to compromise. Royal commenter Tom Bower said the quiet part out loud about Meghan. These people have been trying to break up Harry and Meghan for so long. Megyn Kelly also was racist and unhinged about Meghan. Bethenny Frankel has been posting unhinged sh-t about Meghan on TikTok and TikTokers have been taking her to task. Kate and William are doing stuff again after two and half weeks off. William went to the Tusk Conservation Awards alone on Tuesday, and he was at other conservation events on Wednesday where he was expertly trolled by a Nigerian filmmaker who told him to “Netflix and Chill.” Kate made a video for addiction awareness week and she finally did some events like “taking a meeting” and “making a phone call.” Kate and William did some events in Scarborough later in the week including visiting a youth charity. We also got an article about how they're going to focus on the cost of living crisis in Britain. Elon Musk and Twitter: Minutes 26:00 to 31:15 Elon Musk borrowed the money to buy Twitter and is heavily leveraged. He walked into the office with a literal sink, fired the board and senior management and lifted all the restrictions on hate speech. He also wants to charge a monthly subscription for blue checkmarks. The upside is that advertisers are pulling out in droves and this looks like a terrible investment for him. I play a segment from Zoom where we talked about this. Comments of the Week: Minutes 31:15 to end Thanks to Leanne for her nice text! My comment of the week is from FeatherDuk on the post about Kanye blowing through his money. Chandra's comment of the week is from Noki on the post about Kate's big week. Thanks for listening bitches!
Before Princess Margaret, before Duchess Meghan, there was Princess Louise: royal rebel. Today on the couch, I'm pleased to welcome author, Georgie Blalock. We talk about her latest novel, An Indiscreet Princess, but we also spill a lot of royal tea about the Windsors and Sussuxes. Specifically, we talk about the royal we think Meghan Markle is the most similar to, and spoiler alert, it's not Diana. Georgie also gives us book and bookstore recommendations, tips for readers in a reading slump, and her stand on the debate about rereading books. Introduction: Minutes 0 to 6:30 In case you missed our last episode, my five month old puppy was kicked out of puppy kindergarten and they wanted me to pay for private lessons for him. I hired someone else and my dog did great! Chandra's cat watches over her while she sleeps. She's also watching Murder, She Wrote and Unsolved Mysteries. We talk about UFOs. Royals: Minutes 6:30 to 26:00 We just got the title, cover and release date for Prince Harry's memoir, Spare. It's coming out January 10th but Chandra was hoping it would come out in December. Harry looks so unbothered on the cover. Last week Duchess Meghan's Variety interview came out. She was very diplomatic and focused on her life with Harry. We don't think When Harry Met Sally is the best romcom like Meghan said and prefer Notting Hill and Four Weddings and a Funeral. We think Harry and Meghan should produce romcoms for Netflix. Meghan confirmed the docuseries in that interview. She also spoke respectfully about the Queen. Meghan's podcast last week was about the archetype Bimbo and featured Paris Hilton. Meghan opened by saying she felt objectified while she was a briefcase girl on Deal or no Deal, but she was careful to say she was grateful for the opportunity and that it paid the bills and got her insurance and a SAG card. It was a nuanced conversation that was misunderstood by Whoopi Goldberg and Claudia Jordan, another former Deal or no Deal briefcase girl. This week's Archetypes podcast focused on the Angry Black Woman trope and featured interviews with Issa Rae and Ziwe. Meghan didn't talk about how the British press treated her, but it was the subtext. They talked about diminishing themselves, setting boundaries and how women are labeled as “difficult.” Late last week we got the trailer for season five of The Crown. King Charles keeps telling on himself by objecting so strongly. A friend of the royal family told the London Times the show was trying to destroy the royal family. Judy Dench wrote an open letter to the London Times asking that a disclaimer be added to the Crown. We later learned that she was up for a role on the show which fell through. Netflix did add a disclaimer – to the YouTube description. Netflix executives called out King Charles in a recent Deadline interview. King Charles is selling off his late mother The Queen's prized racehorses, which seems petty, especially so soon after his mother died. He could hand over operations to a family member instead and it's not like he needs the money. I play a segment from Zoom where we talked about the royals. Camila is in India at some kind of wellness center. I guess we'll know what she's been doing if she comes back with a new face. Chandra thinks she's there to dry out and isn't there for plastic surgery. Kanye West: Minutes 26:00 to 32:45 Kanye West is finally facing consequences for being anti-Black, misogynistic and antisemitic. It took long enough. He's been dropped by The Gap, Adidas, Balenciaga and his agency, CAA. His culty school for kids, The Donda Academy, is also shutting down. He recently turned up at Sketchers headquarters and was turned away by security. I play a segment from Zoom where we talked about Kanye. Comments of the Week: Minutes 32:45 to end Kaiser's comment of the week is from s808 on the response to the announcement of Harry's book title. My comment of the week is from Miranda on the post about Dr. Oz saying that abortion decisions should be made by the states along with “women, doctors, local political leaders.” Thanks for listening bitches!

Introduction: Minutes 0 to 3:30 We'll be off next week and back on October 29th. My dog got kicked out of puppy kindergarten. Here's a link to the Twitter thread about that I mentioned. Royals: Minutes 3:30 to 21:30 We've been hearing for some time that the palace is worried about the upcoming fifth season of The Crown. The Windsors were pleased with it up until last season when Diana was introduced. We're hearing that the palace wants a fiction warning added. By freaking out about The Crown, Charles is bringing more attention to it. Prince Philip and his mistress Penny Knatchbull's relationship will be shown this season. Prince Charles' coronation will supposedly only be an hour but it will likely have other events that last the whole day. They're saying it won't be as opulent as Queen Elizabeth's coronation. There's a controversy over the crown that Camilla will wear as it has the Koh-i-noor diamond stolen from Indian. The coronation date is on May 6th, which will be Archie's fourth birthday. Chandra doesn't think this was even a factor in the planning. It's not known yet whether the Sussexes are invited, the royals are probably waiting to see what's in Harry's memoir. We're also hearing that Harry's memoir and their Netflix docuseries will be out in December. Prince Harry is suing Associated Newspapers, the parent company of The Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday, along with Elton John and David Furnish, Elizabeth Hurley, Sadie Frost, and Baroness Doreen Lawrence, whose son Stephen Lawrence was murdered in a racist hate crime in 1993. It's over spying and surveillance. Omid Scobie reported in his column this week that Harry would take the stand if it came to that. Will and Kate are covering People Magazine this week. They're one of two covers along with Christopher Meloni. The coverage claims Will is going to step up running the Duchy of Cornwall and that they're supposedly embracing a heavier workload and their increased visibility. The Cambridges did a radio program for World Mental Health Day. The segment they released to their social media was so bad. Will just talked about a “toolbox” without giving examples. They should phase this issue out of their charity portfolio as they're lightweights. William is said to have spent last weekend at Balmoral alone without his wife and kids. I play a segment from Zoom where we talk about an humanitarian award the Sussexes are getting in December. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie: Minutes 21:30 to 29:45 In January, 2021, Angelina sent an email to Brad offering to sell him her half of the Miraval wine business. This was released as part of her defense in Pitt's lawsuit against her for selling to Stoli. We also heard a statement from Angelina's lawyer that Brad hasn't denied his abuse of her and the kids. Brad had been cutting Angelina out of the business and was spending money in ways she hadn't approved. He doesn't seem to care about this at all and is on the current cover of Billboard Magazine to show off the renovated music studio in Miraval. We are also hearing that he wants to sell his production company, Plan B. Chandra thinks Pitt has been bleeding money from that business and that he's cash poor. I play a segment from Zoom where we talk about Brad and Angelina. Comments of the week: Minutes 29:45 to end My Comments of the week are from Janey and MrsFonzieFace on Peridot's post about Jonathan Majors covering Men's Health and getting in incredible shape. Chandra's comment of the week is from Coco on the post about Brad Pitt trying to sell Plan B. Thanks for listening bitches!
Introduction: Minutes 0 to 6:00 My dog did not do well at doggy day care. I've been watching 9-1-1. Chandra is watching Archer and Abbott Elementary. I watched a few House of the Dragon episodes but I didn't care about anyone. Chandra is reading the book Blackout by Erin Flanagan but she hates it. Royals: Minutes 6:00 to 22:15 Of the three royal biographies we talked about last week, Valentine Low's Courtiers: The Hidden Power Behind the Throne has the most tea. Low wrote about how Meghan was smeared back in March of 2021, right before the Oprah interview aired, for wearing earrings which were a wedding gift from Saudi Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who ordered the murder of Jamal Khashoggi. It's unclear what Meghan was told about the provenance of the jewelry. These earrings were part of the royal collection and had to be lent to Meghan to wear. Katie Nicholl wrote in The New Royals about how mad the royal rota was at Harry and Meghan for keeping the news of Archie's birth a secret at first and for staging the photos at Windsor castle. Meghan said in her Oprah interview that she was scared Archie wasn't going to be kept safe because he wasn't being given a title or security, and that she also wasn't asked to pose for photos outside the hospital. Nicholl said in an interview that staffers were mad that Meghan expected them to do work, essentially. She also wrote that Charles was jealous of Diana, that he was jealous of Kate and that Kate and William were jealous of Meghan. We got a new official photo of Charles, Camilla, William and Kate that was taken on September 18th at a diplomatic reception the day before Queen Elizabeth's funeral. The tone is off as they're all smiling. We talk about how Kate raided the Queen's jewelry right after the Queen died. We also got two new photo portraits of Meghan and Harry, taken at the One Young World Summit before the Queen passed. Charles wants to stop Harry's memoir. The Telegraph reported that Charles is considering getting his lawyers to explore options. They're also upset about Harry and Meghan's upcoming Netflix documentary. Last week we talked about how Queen Margrethe of Denmark was taking away the HRH and Prince and Princess titles from her four grandchildren from her younger son, Prince Joaquim. Joaquim and his second wife, Mary, gave an interview admitting that they were hurt by this decision and that their relationship with the family was complicated. After that Margrethe apologized and said she hopes that they can all make peace, but that she stands by her decision. Joaquim's oldest son, former Prince Nikolai, 23, said he's in shock and sad about the decision. Joaquim and Mary have been living in France for years. I play a segment from Zoom where we talk about the royals. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie: Minutes 22:15 to 28:30 We last talked about Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie in episode 132, when the heavily redacted FBI report came out. We didn't hear until now that Brad choked one of their children, that he poured beer and wine on the children, and that he hit one of the children in the face. Those details were included in Jolie's cross complaint to his objection to her selling her portion of Chateau Miraval, their wine company. It took her years of legal harassment from Brad to come out with this information. She gave him so many chances to buy out her portion of the company. Stoli, which bought Angelina's portion of the business, is now suing Brad. I play a segment from Zoom where we talked about Brad and Angelina. Gisele Bundchen and Tom Brady: Minutes 28:30 to 31:45 Gisele Bundchen is divorcing Tom Brady. This divorce has been exceptional in that she's been clear about the reasons she's doing it, because he went back to playing football after announcing his retirement. She's been caring for their children for years and he's promised her that she could return to her career when he retired but he reneged on that. They're being admirably open about their problems. Gisele's Elle interview was so breezy and forward-focused. There was a story about how Tom was attentive to their children “in the off season.” Comments of the Week: 31:45 to end Chandra's comment of the week is from Emmi on the post about who should be the next Bond. My comment of the week is from girl ninja on the post about Naomi Watts talking about menopause. Thanks for listening bitches!
Introduction: Minutes 0 to 7 My new puppy is doing great but I don't let him sleep in my room. Chandra started watching Blonde and it's not as bad as she expected. (Update: She finished and it's bad.) Roger Federer retired after playing his final match with Rafa Nadal and it was sadder than Chandra expected. Royals: Minutes 7:00 to 30:00 Last week we had the Queen's funeral on Monday. We were surprised how long the public portion was and didn't expect the Windsor portion to be aired. Both Harry and Meghan were impeccable and regal at the many ceremonies despite everything that's been thrown at them. Harry stood out and the cameras kept finding him and Meghan. I play a segment from Zoom where we talked about the Queen. Kate and William seemed especially happy after the Queen died and Kate sure helped herself to the Queen's jewelry. When I die I want a quick funeral so people can go about their day. There are three new royal books out now. Valentine Low's book is Courtiers: The Hidden Power Behind the Throne, that seems to have the most tea, Katie Nicholl has The New Royals and Angela Levin has Camilla From Outcast to Queen Consort. Valentine Low seems to know that his sources are racist. In Valentine Low's book Meghan is blamed for the way she was treated by the palace staff. These talking points were pushed by the palace earlier to Robert Lacey for Battle of the Brothers. It goes far beyond victim blaming and proves that Meghan was downplaying the abuse she endured. Low gives a bunch of examples of the royal staff being incompetent and rude to Meghan while her reactions seem perfectly reasonable. At one point Meghan disagreed with the plans a female staff member had made and told her to change them. When the woman said it would be too hard, Meghan responded “Don't worry, If there was literally anyone else I could ask to do this, I would be asking them instead of you.” Meanwhile Charles sounds like an awful boss. He's gone through five secretaries in seven years and he calls his staff at all hours of the day, including on Christmas. His office is described as toxic and the staff are backstabbing. Nicholl's book has the detail that we've heard before that William can't forgive Harry and that William “always expected Harry would be his wingman.” She also writes that Charles is holding Archie and Lilibet's titles over the Sussexes' heads depending on what Harry reveals in his memoir. We got so many stories about how and why Meghan wasn't invited to Balmoral when the Queen took a turn for the worse. It was telling that instead of focusing on the Queen after her death the press was about the Sussexes and everything they were supposedly doing wrong. We heard that Meghan wasn't invited because Kate didn't come for whatever reason. We wish Meghan would come out and say how despicable the royal family is, but they've been showing that with their actions. Meanwhile there are all these stories about whether Harry and his family can make up. Charles is said to have hope that they can but Gayle King reported that there was no peace deal at the funeral. Harry's kids don't have titles and Harry and Meghan have been demoted on the Royal.uk website to the bottom. We don't think Harry will dish the dirt in his first memoir but hopefully he will in his future books. I play a segment from Zoom where we talk about Charles. We talk about how Queen Margrethe of Denmark removed the royal stylings and titles from her grandchildren without telling them first. The Cambridges are sort-of stepping into their roles as Prince and Princess of Wales. They went to Wales, where William tried out his rudimentary Welsh. It was supposed to be a low key visit. It doesn't seem like they knew they were getting the Wales titles right away. Comments of the Week: Minutes 30:00 to end Chandra's comment of the week is from Light Purple on the story where Khloe Kardashian claimed she was engaged to Tristan Thompson last year. My comment of the week is from Lunchcoma on the post where Brad Pitt said that Emily Ratajkowski is hot. Thanks for listening and subscribing bitches!
Introduction: Minutes 0 to 4:30 I got a German Shepherd puppy and he's 16 weeks old now! He's a lot of work and he's very smart. I've been watching House of the Dragon and I like it but am not sure I will stick with it. Chandra finished What We Do in the Shadows. It had tone problems this season. Royals: Minutes 4:30 to 27:30 Last week right before we recorded we heard that Queen Elizabeth II had passed at 96. Harry went to Scotland, but sadly did not arrive before she passed. Both Kate and Meghan stayed behind, and at first we heard that Meghan would travel to Balmoral with Harry. After that it was reported that Charles told Harry that it was a somber occasion for the close family and that Meghan should not come. The British press did the most to smear her for wanting to support her husband. King Charles II made his first public statement on Friday, during which he announced that William and Kate would be getting the Prince and Princess of Wales titles. He also expressed support for Harry and Meghan. The Kensington Royal accounts changed their titles on social media to The Prince and Princess of Wales quickly. Before that, just a few hours after the Queen died, they changed their titles to The Duke and Duchess of Cornwall and Cambridge. The Line of Succession was updated and Harry and Meghan's children were not given titles. The latest news is that Archie and Lilibet will get titles, they just won't get HRH status. Chandra thinks Harry and Meghan are letting the royals make asses of themselves. Queen Elizabeth's funeral will be on Monday, and just like before Philip's funeral there's a lot of drama over which royals will get to wear military uniforms. Word was that only working royals will get to wear uniforms, meaning both Andrew and Harry won't have them, although it was reported that Andrew would get to wear his on one occasion. It looked exclusionary when Harry, a combat veteran, wasn't wearing a uniform at the funeral procession on Wednesday. Harry's people issued a statement the day before stating in part that “his decade of military service is not determined by the uniform he wears.” On Saturday Harry, Meghan, William and Kate arrived together outside Windsor Palace to greet the crowd. Meghan looked scared, Kate wasn't interacting with Meghan and you could tell there was a lot of tension. There are two videos of King Charles getting mad at pens. During his proclamation ceremony he made a face for his staff to move some pens that were in his way. There's another video of him signing something in Northern Ireland with Camilla. He seems mad to have gotten ink on himself and says “I can't bear this bloody thing.” The Queen's funeral is going to be a massive event and there's the question of security for world leaders. We know Trump and his buddy Putin aren't invited while Joe and Dr. Jill Biden are coming. Politico claimed that attendees were asked to fly commercial and take a bus to Westminster Abbey due to limited capacity, which sounds like a security nightmare. It's likely that was just for lower level diplomats and that there will be exceptions. Chandra reminds me of Prince Philip's memorial service in which many people came to show their respect for the Queen. After Charles announced that William and Kate would be the Prince and Princess of Wales, Duchess Kate issued a statement in which it sounded like she wanted to continue business as usual. Valentine Low at The Times wrote a shady piece that sounded like Kate better step up and do more work. There's a related story that William and Kate won't move into Windsor Castle anytime soon. I play a segment from Zoom where we talk about the royals. As Zakia mentioned in the Zoom segment, Meghan got criticized for taking 45 minutes to get ready for the walkabout. There was speculation that Meghan was wearing a mic pack there, which a source denied. William was the one to reach out to Harry about the walkabout at the last minute. Comments of the Week: Minutes 27:30 to end My comment of the week is from Sue E Generis on the post about Sheryl Lee Ralph's Emmy acceptance speech. Chandra mentions an interview Sheryl did on the red carpet where she mentions advice Robert DeNiro gave her early in her career. Kaiser's comment of the week is from Eowyn in the post about Gisele Bundchen's interview with Elle in which she admits that she's told Tom Brady to be more present with their family. Thanks for listening bitches!
On this week's episode, Lara muses on the Heterosexual Midsommar vibes of straight weddings and Carey recaps the juicy new Duchess Meghan profile in The Cut. They also discuss some recent BRAVO-centric drama before delving into Season 1, Episode 5 of Jersey Shore. Back in Seaside Heights, NJ, Snooki heals from a violent assault, Ron's schism with Mike continues to deepen (as does his hetero-psychosis with Sammi Sweetheart), body-shaming ignites JWoww's urge to tussle and Vinny seeks out a fling with a cougar. Introduction: Minutes 0 to 6 Chandra mentions Heather Morris's story about J.Lo rejecting back up dancers who were Virgos. I looked at puppies but they seemed hard to train. Chandra thinks I should get a kitten for a year before I get a dog. Royals: Minutes 6:00 to 24:00 As we've heard Will and Kate, but really just Kate and the kids, are moving to Adelaide Cottage in Windsor. They are keeping all their other properties, making this their fourth, although they supposedly aren't using taxpayer money for it. Kensington Palace confirmed this week that the children would be attending school in Lambrook. It seems like they left the move until the last minute before their kids start school. They are issuing carefully worded statements about not having live-in staff and renting the property. Even the royal reporters that usually run their keen puff pieces are criticizing them for this, like Richard Kay, who called it “clumsily insensitive.” Chandra wrote that this is a calculated risk by the Cambridges that William will inherit the Duchy of Cornwall soon. Meanwhile Harry was in Africa, in Mozambique and Rwanda, as part of his duties as President of African parks. He visited the president of Rwanda and led a delegation of congressman and philanthropists. We heard a couple weeks ago that William would probably speak at the UN, but he's not doing that, he's just holding the Earthshot Prize Innovation Summit on Sept. 21 in association with Bloomberg P hilanthropies. William should have his own causes instead of just copying his brother. We got our first episode of Archetypes, Duchess Meghan's podcast. Meghan spoke to her good friend Serena Williams about ambition. Mariah Carey is next week's guest and there are rumors that Beyonce will be on. Meghan and Serena discussed Serena's career and the double standards applied to her. Both Serena and Meghan told never-before-heard stories about scary situations with their kids. Serena's daughter Olympia broke her wrist in a highchair fall during the French Open and baby Archie was almost caught in a fire in his nursery when Meghan and Harry were in Africa. Archie was supposed to be in the nursery but at the last minute the nanny decided to put him on her back to get a snack so he was fine. Then Meghan and Harry had to go to another event and act like everything was fine! In response to this there were sourced quotes in the British press that the heater was smoking, it was unplugged and the crisis was averted, no big deal basically and there was no fire. I play a promotional clip for Archetypes. Meghan seems like she's doing great in California. We liked the podcast but thought it was a little long. We're careful not to criticize her too much because of the unhinged way the British commentators go after her. Omid Scobie addresses this in his latest column and he said that they're basically proving her point. He also mentioned that the Sussexes offered to be half in and were rejected by the palace. I play a clip from Zoom where we talked about this. As Lisa mentioned in the Zoom, this was a restrained conversation. Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie: Minutes 24 to 30:30 We got the redacted report of what happened on the plane in 2016 that caused Angelina Jolie to file for divorce from Brad Pitt. We got this because Angelina anonymously filed for a Freedom of Information Act request. The details were worse than we expected. Brad's response was to smear and gaslight Angelina in the press including saying that Angelina is doing this for “media purposes” and that she's already known this for six years and is doing it to “inflict pain” on him. Pitt's team seems certain that the FBI case won't be reopened. They've also claimed that Angelina is just jealous of him. If Angelina wanted to ruin Brad she would have released this information during his Oscar campaign. I play a segment from Zoom where we talked about this. Chandra doesn't think Brad will sue Angelina for defamation for this because she has her legal ducks in a row. He may pull a different legal move though. Comments of the week: Minutes 30:30 to end My comment of the week is from Owlsyn (Ableism is Not Cool) on the post about Pennsylvania gubernatorial candidate Dr. Oz posting a ridiculous video blaming Biden for the price of “crudite.” Chandra's comment of the week is from Snuffles on the post about William wanting to do the school run in Berkshire. Thanks for listening bitches!
Introduction: Minutes 0 to 6:45 We were off for five weeks because I moved. We'll have episodes out for the next two weeks and will be off on August 20th. Chandra watched Severance and loved it. We have a spoiler free talk about that. Royals: Minutes 6:45 to 22:30 Last week, the Sussexes went to New York because Harry was invited by the Mandela Foundation to give a speech at the UN for Mandela day. The Archewell Foundation is working on a project with the Mandela Foundation. There were stupid articles from Salt Island questioning whether Harry was qualified to give a speech despite his being invited and knowing the Mandela family. He was also accused of copying his speech from William. We were surprised at how exclusive the photos of Harry and Meghan in New York were. The Sussexes went to lunch with Gloria Steinem and then had dinner that night with a group where they were served sheep's milk ricotta, steak tartare and ravioli. Chandra covered that story because she likes talking about food and looking up menus. Chandra's opinions about food are controversial. She hates all cheese. A new royal biography came out by Tom Bower called Revenge: Meghan, Harry and the war between the Windsors. It was released on July 21st and is longer available directly from Amazon or Barnes and Noble. It's filled with slight variations of garbage stories about Meghan we've heard before. Bower reminds Chandra of Lady Colin Campbell in that sources seem to be the white Markles and anti-Sussex trolls. My favorite story was about how Meghan told Harry's friends at a hunting party not to make misogynistic and transphobic jokes, like it was a bad thing she was calling them out! Bower tried to claim that Meghan was hysterical in 2017 about the Vanity Fair cover calling her “Wild about Harry” because the palace was mad about the headline, even though they seemingly authorized her interview. That was disputed by the journalist, Sam Kashner, who said he admired and respected Meghan and found her warm, gracious and intelligent. There was also a retelling of the “Meghan made Kate cry” at the bridesmaids' fitting story. Like many pro-Windsor books, Revenge ended up making the other royals look bad, especially Camilla. Bower wrote that Duchess Camilla “joked” in 2017 that Meghan and Harry's children would have “ginger afros.” Now we know why Charles worries about William trashing Camilla in his biography. In response Page Six reported that Camilla “is not the senior royal who made the alleged racist comments” about the Sussexes' children. Omid Scobie reported that the manuscript for Harry's memoir has been written and has passed legal checks. We don't think it will be dishy or a tell all. Scobie's latest column is about Prince William, and how he wants his work to have a global impact. The most interesting royal story this week was that Kate's sister Pippa named her third child, a daughter, Rose! Prince William's alleged mistress is of course named Rose Hanbury so this was shady. Pippa recently got her masters degree in physical education with a priority on early years and she and James moved into a larger estate. Pippa is a more credible early years expert than Kate. Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez: Minutes 22:30 to 28:30 Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck eloped in Las Vegas at The Little White Chapel on July 17th. Emme and Seraphina were the only children there and we heard that it was spur of the moment. Chandra predicted that J.Lo and Ben would celebrate by going on a birthday trip, and they did, they went to Paris with with Jennifer's 14-year-old twins, Max and Emme, and Ben's daughters, Violet, 16, and Seraphina, 13. Chandra likes their whole vibe and it looked like the kids were having a great time. Jennifer changed her clothes so much and we got so many photos. Chandra likes how they're acting like rich tourists. Comments of the Week: Minutes 28:30 to end Chandra's comment of the week is from NYC212 on the post about Prince William trying to negate his mother's Panorama interview. I had two runner ups for comment of the week from Chubcucumber and Dr Mrs The Monarch on the post where Gwyneth Paltrow said she had to work twice as hard because of nepotism. My comment of the week is from Joan on the post about Gwyneth Paltrow being grateful to be 50. Thanks for listening bitches!
Introduction: Minutes 0 to 6:30 We'll be off the next two weeks, June 25th and July 2nd. We will have an episode out on July 9th and then will be off on July 16th and 23rd. I've been sick, but thankfully my covid test came back negative. I've been watching Imposters on Netflix. Chandra is happy that Serena Williams is coming to Wimbledon this year. Royals: Minutes 6:30 to 33:45 Order of the Garter and Royal Ascot: Minutes 6:30 to 14:30 This week we had the ceremony for the Order of the Garter, the third highest knighthood. Duchess Camilla was inducted. At the ceremony Kate wore a blue McQueen coatdress that was apparently new. Prince William got headlines for looking glum but he always looks like that. The Queen was not there but we got a photo of her with Charles and Camilla which The Royal Family posted on their Instagram. She didn't wear the robes because she's too frail now. We also had Royal Ascot this week. Sophie and Beatrice looked fug in unique ways. Charles and Camilla were also there. The big story was that Carole Middleton wore an ugly pleated pink shirt dress to Royal Ascot that her daughter, Duchess Kate, had worn in Scotland. Chandra remembers when Kate wore one of Carole's dresses ten years ago. Prince Andrew: Minutes 14:30 to 17:45 Prince Andrew is a Knight of the Garter and we heard in late May that both he and the Queen would be at the service. He was listed in the printed Order of Service for the Order of the Garter ceremony and his attendance was announced by the press. At the last minute he was barred from the public-facing events although he was still there behind the scenes. The Sun reported that Charles and William lobbied the Queen to get Andrew removed. Omid Scobie had a column about how Andrew is getting mixed signals from the royal family. Royal charity appearances: Minutes 17:45 to 25:15 Will and Kate attended the Grenfell memorial ceremony. Most of the crowd was in green, “Green for Grenfell,” but Will and Kate didn't wear anything green at all. We wonder if that was deliberate or not. I play a segment from Zoom where we talked about that. We also heard that Meghan left a voicemail for the Hubb Community Kitchen, the organization that she worked with to release the cookbook to benefit the Grenfell community. They posted on Facebook that she left them a sweet message. In return they got hate comments on Facebook. They also shut down their Instagram. There were new photos of Duchess Meghan at an after school program for girls and non-binary youth in Amsterdam called Project Fearless. She visited them in April when she was there for the Invictus Games. The organization held on to the photos until their anniversary. Cambridge move: Minutes 25:15 to 30:15 As we've been talking about for months, the Cambridges are planning a move. They finally settled on a place on the Windsor estate called Adalaide Cottage. This will be their third property as they are keeping Anmer Hall and their apartments in Kensington Palace. The children will going to go to a private coed school in Bucklebury, a 45 minute drive away. We assume Kate and the kids will spend a lot of time with her parents, who live in Bucklebury. The Cambridges are pushing the narrative that this is a modest four bedroom home, that they will have no “live-in” staff and that the place doesn't need renovations. We assume Will and Kate will be living apart. It's curious that the Cambridges were putting out feelers for Frogmore House, Fort Belvedere or Royal Lodge but were given this smaller home. I play a segment from Zoom where we talked about this. Kate's big discussion: Minutes 30:15 to 33:45 Kate did an event where she talked about the Early Years with British politicians. All the photos are of Kate looking businessy. The writeup is so superficial and ridiculous it reads like a parody. The purpose of this meeting was for an awareness campaign. Comments of the Week: Minutes 33:45 to end Chandra's comment of the week is from Beth on the story about the Persuasion adaptation with Dakota Johnson. My comment of the week is from Lucy on the post where James Patterson said old white men were being discriminated against. Thanks for listening bitches!
