Send us a textKatie and Bridget do a ridiculous amount of different activities that should never be paired together in an effort to thwart nuclear terrorists as they re-watch the movie: True Lies! We've got our favorite neglectful 90's dad - Arnold Schwarzenegger - as Harry Tasker, a man who his family thinks is a computer analyst, but really he's a terrorist-fighting secret agent! When he thinks his wife is having an affair (which she kind of is, but also we don't hate it), he uses government resources to spy on her, try to catch her in the act, and then make her to do a secret strip tease for her -  all while continually lying to her! True Lies does not equal Swift Divorce, we'll tell you that right now. As if that couldn't be the whole movie, we also have international terrorists, kidnapping, nuclear weapons, explosions all around, every gun you could ever think of, and fighter jets exploding men in midair. It's absolutely ridiculous but we just can't look away! Released in 1994, it was written and directed by James Cameron and stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jamie Lee Curtis, Tom Arnold, Bill Paxton, Tia Carrere, Art Malik, and Eliza Dushku.

Episode Notes S6E9 -- Join us as we sit down with the one and only Rico Anderson. He'll be in the house telling tales from S.W.A.T to Get Gone and beyond. As an award winning actor, a sci fi nerd, the oldest of 11 children on his mothers side (6 biological / 5 adopted) and the 3rd of 4 children on his fathers side, Rico was born in Seaside/Monterey, CA and raised on the south side of Chicago as well as the San Francisco Bay Area. It was in Chicago where Rico's love for the arts began. As a little boy, his 3rd grade class went to a touring performance of The Wiz, starring Stephanie Mills. Even at that early age, Rico sat there mesmerized and amazed at the performances. Memories from that performance stuck in the back of his mind and would not surface until a few years later when his family moved to Berkeley, California. The bug bit again and Rico started performing in several plays and Independent films. Rico also majored in Theatre Arts at San Francisco State University. Eventually, Rico moved to Los Angeles and has been blessed to have many film, television, voice over and theatre credits to his name. Tru Calling: "The Last Good Day" Few people remember Eliza Dushku's first post-Buffy series about a time-travelling morgue employee co-starring Zach Galifianakis, but it's one of the most interesting shows of the era -- both for its bizarre behind-the-scenes story, and for its philosophical, cosmic, and stellar second season that barely anyone saw. We talk about this masterful perspective flip that puts the "villain" Jack (90210's Jason Priestley) in hero Tru's shoes, questioning the show's entire premise and the ambiguity of the order vs. chaos concept, while still elegantly telling a story about suicide, terminal illness, and assisted dying. I go back to 1994 for this week's review. Specifically the epic, action-packed Arnold Schwarzenegger spy thriller True Lies. This was James Cameron teaming up again with his Terminator for this big budget, eye-popping spectacle. Schwarzenegger plays Harry Tasker who has his wife and daughter convinced that he's just a dull to the bone computer salesman. In reality he's a spy for the covert Omega Sector hunting down and stopping threats. Things get dicey when he hears something that makes him think his wife is having an affair and he investigates. Some terrorists really end up spoiling his investigation, just to launch a nuclear attack plot on the United States. Schwarzenegger is joined by Jamie Lee Curtis as his wife, Eliza Dushku as his daughter, Tom Arnold as his partner and the late, great Bill Paxton as “super spy” Simon.  If, amazingly you haven't seen this, is it worth checking out? It's a movie all about how our country was built on the backs of cultural appropriation and racism... But via cheerleading! YEAH! Come along as we meet Torrance (Ta-Ta-Ta-Torrance), newly elected high school cheerleading captain who's looking to bring her team to victory yet another year in a row. But when new recruit Missy (she's the poo - take a whiff) joins the team, Torrance quickly learns that her entire cheerleading life was a LIE! And that their teams cheers were all stolen from the East Compton Clovers, with the worst offense of all being that: They stole the cheers from Gabrielle Union. Will the white cheerleaders learn to make up their own shit on their way to finals? .... Well not right away but eventually, sure! And will the East Compton Clovers win the national 1st place trophy that they've deserved this entire time!? .... OBVIOUSLY YES - DID YOU SEE THEIR ROUTINE!? Released in 2000, it stars Kirsten Dunst, Eliza Dushku, Gabrielle Union, and Jesse Bradford.
