One of the most common questions engaged couples ask me is, “What's the average price for a wedding photographer?”And it's a great question—but booking the right photographer isn't just about price. It's about finding a person and package that is right for you, and your budget, but also your personalities and values. And it could mean the difference between capturing every unforgettable moment at a price that still fits your budget and having a wonderful time doing that OR missing out on the memories that matter most and trying to deal with someone who is not on the same page as you – ALL DAY LONG.In this episode, I'm sharing the numbers, the trends, and the real factors that are shaping wedding photography costs now and into the future for Australia and the rest of the world too. You'll get the latest averages, straight from recent industry surveys, so you know exactly what to expect when you start your search. Plus, we'll break down how inflation, technology, experience, location, and even the day of the week can all impact what you pay—and what you get.And to make sure you get the best value, we'll share 5 practical tips to help you budget wisely, and book in the perfect photographer for your big day.RESOURCES Fearless Photographers: How Much Does Wedding Photography Cost in 2025?Easy Weddings: How Much Does A Wedding Photographer Cost?Send Unbridely a 90-second audio message on Speakpipe: https://www.speakpipe.com/unbridelypodcast*The Unbridely Podcast is sponsored by its listeners. Alright, picture this—you're newly engaged, stepping into a gorgeous venue, surrounded by wedding vendors, floral arrangements, cake samples, and a whole lot of decisions to make. Exciting? Absolutely. Overwhelming? Also yes. That was the scene at the Merrimon-Wynne House in downtown Raleigh, where we attended a wedding vendor showcase to talk to real couples about their planning experience. We asked couples what they were looking for in vendors, what's been the most surprising part of wedding planning so far, and what's been an instant dealbreaker—and let's just say, we got some real talk. From budget struggles to vendor ghosting to the sheer horror of discovering you have to pick out your own linens (yes, really), these couples didn't hold back.---Resource Mentioned:Done-for-You Lead Magnet Template for Wedding Pros: https://www.theplannersvault.com/shop/p/done-for-you-lead-magnet-template-for-wedding-pros---Today's episode is brought to you by The Planner's Vault. I wanna ask you, have you ever thought of writing a book? If you've been in the industry for any amount of time, you've likely been told by a friend or a coworker that you should write a book. There's so many crazy things that happen to us in this industry, right? And putting it all in a book just sounds like such a great idea. But then you start to think, maybe that's a lot of work!? I'm busy already and I don't even know where to start or how I would get it published or what it would even be about???On today's show, my guest, Jeri Solomon and Edna Dratch Parker are both wedding pros in New England and Boston, and they came together over the last several years to write a book on how to plan a wedding. What I love about this book is that they did a really great job of simply setting the foundation of wedding planning for couples for newly engaged couples. They don't get into pricing and markets. They aren't trying to replace a wedding planner. In fact, they tell you that having a wedding planner is actually super important to planning your wedding. But they do really set the foundation for engaged couples to help alleviate some of those questions that we answer over and over and over again as wedding pros. If you've ever thought about writing a book, Edna and Jeri talk about their journey of writing and publishing their book, as well as what it's done for their businesses and why you should really consider authoring a book if that's something that's been on your bucket list.So you guys, I know that you're gonna enjoy this episode, so sit back, relax, and let's get into it!!-----Join The Wedding Pro CEO Podcast Community on Facebook! A couple weeks ago, we went to The Merrimon Wynne Winter Wedding Showcase. The Merrimon Wynne is a historic home in downtown Raleigh that's been converted into a gorgeous wedding venue. Inside the house and in the carriage house outside, engaged couples were walking around looking for the right wedding vendors for their big day. And if they looked like they might be willing to answer some questions about their wedding vendor search, we asked them to come on the show. We asked them questions like: Where are you finding your vendors? What's a turnoff when looking for vendors? How important is social media when researching a vendor? Do you read reviews and how much do they matter Does TikTok matter? What's been a surprise in the wedding planning process? Do you need to see pricing on the website? (This one was super interesting) And, anything you want wedding vendors to know? So let's tune in to find out what couples really want!Episodes referenced:168.
