For  the briefest of moments For the briefest of moments, the emerald green was lit,by an opening door, Spring walked from the west, bathed in silence, light and of summer gold, the trees, their leaves, each of the millions of blades and grass, lit in fires of incandescence, as she stepped from the edge of the evening sky, and walked through the shadows, the last retreat the gathering memories of winter, of dark and of dusk, in her hands she held the stars, at her breast  she wore the afterglow, a blossoming time of flowers, and behind her head, was the rising first of summer, the heady intoxicating days,of the fullness of time and life that are the weeks of high summer and of June, she walked and further, into the meadows and fields that were opening, as she passed ripening in seeds of birth, warmth and fecundity, for a while, the briefest of hushes, of moments and measures of eternity itself, the earth alone, stood still And sighed, her tears of loneliness, lost in the hollow, the emptiness, of a forgotten winter wind.Feel free to contact me. Recording studios are wonderful spaces where real magic can happen, but it's also so liberating to have the skills and set up to create music and experiment with your creative ideas from the comfort of your own home.Inside this Golden Nugget Episode we're going back to #57 where Isobel chatted to musician and producer, Flaming June (AKA Louise Eatock), about how much more freely she has been able to make music through learning to record and produce herself. Inside, Louise dissects exactly how this has helped her shape her own vision and make an album she's truly proud of (which has also gone on to win an award, BTW). How many times have you said to yourself, “I'd love to have the freedom to record my music where and when I want, but won't it just sound amateur if I do it myself?” It's a common thought for many musicians that can leave you feeling totally reliant on other people to get your music out of your head and into the world. But inside this episode of Girls Twiddling Knobs, Isobel speaks to musician Flaming June, AKA Louise Eatock, about the incredible journey she's been on learning to record and produce her music from home. Frederic Leighton fared as an underestimated salon painter up till 1895. Then he painted this masterpiece – Flaming June. It sings to us with radiant color and elemental symbols. Many see this painting as simple. It’s a beautiful woman in a glorious dress. They’re not wrong. But as with most masterpieces, more levels of meaning resonate here. The initial pulse check on this painting delivers heat. It’s titled Flaming June for good reason. Orange bursts through the canvas as cascading fire. The gown’s flames ripple like an out of control blaze. This lovely woman seems to sleep inside an inferno. Surrounding details balance this piece, though. It’s not only about fire. Leighton frames June with earth, sea, and air elements to harmonize the painting. A deluxe sample of Flaming June (Rogues and Gentlemen Book 10), and interview with Historical Romance author and world-renowned crazy cat lady, Emma V. Leech. Hosted, edited, etc. by Tessa Candle. Book author: Emma V. Leech https://www.emmaleech.com Book narrator: Phillip Battley https://www.imdb.com/name/nm1642245/ Get Flaming June on Amazon.com: https://www.amazon.com/Flaming-June-Emma-V-Leech-audiobook/dp/B07KQJBBTD/&tag=tessacandle02-20 Get Flaming June on Nook: https://www.nookaudiobooks.com/audiobook/1009776/x   Description: When the beautiful Lady Isabella Scranford finds herself in the family way and her lover refuses to do the honorable thing, she knows her life is at an end. With a reputation for being a cold-hearted bitch, there will be no sympathy for her, only shame and ridicule. Finding that even her best - and only - friend refuses to be associated with her any longer, Isabella decides she cannot go on and makes a fateful decision.  Henry Barbour is known locally as the Bear of Barcham Wood. Living alone in the vast and decaying splendor of Barcham Place, surrounded by wilderness and woodland, he inspires such tales of madness that no one locally will go near the once grand house.   When a filthy and frightening man rescues Isabella from drowning, she begins to believe her fate has taken an even darker turn. Yet appearances can be deceptive, and an unlikely bond is created between two damaged souls who need to hide from the world.   As Isabella comes to understand the meaning of compassion, she begins to realize the most important things in life are not at all what she expected them to be.   Flaming June listed in the top 20 from over 6000 entrants in the AMAZON UK Kindle Storyteller Awards 2018 "Romance Reads You Can't Miss". ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ “This story blew me away. I have never gone back and bought a book I've read through the Unlimited program before. My reading material is vast, from politics to history to mysteries to Booker Man and Novel Prize books and the classics, and in between it all I read romance novels. I've read thousands in my lifetime and this was a wonderful and simply remarkable book.” ~ Amazon customer review ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ “This book had all the components of a fantastic read. Imperfect people which made them perfect characters. Great storyline, details flushed out. No loose ends which I highly appreciate. A complete book with a worthy epilogue.” ~ Amazon customer review **** Warning: This book contains a careful selection of quiet determination, resolute tight-lipped-ness and (almost) insurmountable levels of tension. Although coupled with the presence of occasionally descriptive sexual encounters, we are very pleased to highlight that this book - and series - is in no way verging on erotica. ****

The Sustainable Futures Report

Yes, it's June, but in the UK you might not think so as it's been bitterly cold in the last few days, at least in the eastern half of the country. There's no word yet, but I do expect to hear shortly that globally, May 2016 will have been the warmest May on record. Following the warmest January, February, March and April. Excuse me while I throw another log on the fire. There's a new report out this week from the IEA, the international Energy Agency on the role of cities in cutting GHG emissions. There's a report from REN21 about how renewable energy is thriving, even in the UK, while Christian Aid tells us more about the threats from climate change. Is your city in the top 20 at risk from flooding? You may be at risk even if it's not. The US Geological Survey reports on how wildfires in Alaska are affecting global CO2 levels and The Royal Society B has been looking at cow dung. On another note - there must be a link there somewhere - if you're a UK voter don't forget to vote in the EU referendum. This is a life-changing decision and you only have until next Tuesday, 7th June, to make sure you are on the electoral register.

This is secret summer, named after something which we in the UK are currently enduring... Winter has decided it wants to carry on this year, so giving us here a 'Secret Summer'..... Can you tell I am beginning to run out of names yet for the podcasts? ;) Anyways.... To the music.... All the best in Trance music, rocking my world this week! Very cool remix of a 90's classic BT - Flaming June, although corresponding ironically to the name of the podcast, it is most certainly not a Flaming June here in Blighty! Some cool promos received in my inbox recently in the form of Lee + Slater with their tune 'Ripper' Oozing with White Isle Balearic vibes and well as Ionstorm with 'Skyburn' an uplifting fast pacer, winding you up to finish on some Tech Trance..... Enjoy ma beauty's! ;) xXx 1) M.E.M - Next Level (Original Mix) 2) Armin Van Buuren Feat. Ana Criado - Suddenly Summer (Heatbeat Remix) 3) BT - Flaming June (Laptop Symphony Rework) 4) Andy Richmond - The Only One (William James Remix) 5) Lange Vs Gareth Emery - This Is All Out (Heatbeat Vs Andy Moor Remix) Lange Mashup 6) C-Systems & Bushi Feat.
