"Flesh is a trap...and magic sets you free". Join us this week on Seeking Human Victims as we discuss the final directorial effort from Clive Barker (at least as of 2021), the genre bending, Scott Backula starring dark fantasy supernatural horror crime noir extravaganza known as LORD OF ILLUSIONS (1995) . We'll look at the introduction of the character Harry D'amour who became a recurring lead throughout Barker's books, a fascinating examination of the art of illusionists through death and resurrection, Famke Jensen in one of her best roles.. and of course all the crusty magical cult leader goodness.

The Summer of Clive concludes, as we delve into something magical, with Lord of Illusions (1995). But is it true magic, or simply illusion? Scott Bakula LEAPS into the roll of Harry D'Amour, a detective with a nose for the occult, who tries to discover just that. For a fee, of course. But it has to be frustrating, trying to solve a case, when your efforts are constantly being disrupted by illusionists, vengeful magicians and filthy desert cult members. And it was supposed to be a nice, relaxing trip to L.A.!
Episode 48 of the Paranormal Mysteries Podcast:It’s true that Alaska is a wonderland for adventurers and vacationers alike. In fact, if there was ever a place that could be as awe inspiring as it is mysterious, I have little doubt that Alaska would be at the top of my list. In many ways, Alaska symbolizes the pinnacle of what Mother Nature has to offer and yet for some, the vastness of the Last Frontier is an unsettling reminder of the bizarre secrets that lie hidden deep within its forests and mountains. Many people have come to believe that its majestic landscape disguises a terrifying truth that some of its residents claim to have experienced firsthand. While these experiences aren’t typical of standard animal attacks or missing person reports, they do seem to point to a much more vicious yet unknown creature that is believed to abduct and in some cases brutally murder and dismember its prey. These cases have compounded over the decades, but there’s a particular string of events that are so unique, so well documented and so horrifying that they deserve a place amongst the strangest unexplained incidents to ever occur. Incidents that most believers say were caused by none other than Hairy Man of Port Chatham Alaska.Podcast Source: https://www.spreaker.com/show/paranormal-mysteries-podcastSources used in today’s episode:alaskaadventurejournal.com - alaskacenters.gov - alaskamagazine.com - archive.org - coastview.org - Harry D. In this episode the roundtable is open. Ray Redacted, Jessie "The Man" Broke, Harry D and Taylor from MyCrypto all swing by to discuss security, why it is not sexy and what it needs to do to be sexy. Corey invents a new acronym, "SIS." Everyone in the roundtable agrees that it should be a new standard way of thinking. Also, Taylor reminds everyone in the crypto community that the worst user experience is the one where the user loses their money. Nobody wants that. Oh...and for good measure, if you aren't using 2FA or some form of MFA, then you are just waiting to get pwned. Waiting very patiently to get pwned.

Harry entered Dumbledore's office, amazed at the portraits of sleeping headmasters and headmistresses and seeing the sorting hat sitting on a shelf. Harry, left alone, sneaks another Harry, alone in the room, tried the hat on again. The hat attempted to discuss Harry's possibility of being in Slytherin, but Harry freaks out and takes off the hat before he can hear any more Harry turned and sees a decrepit bird, who burst into flames. Dumbledore entered and explained that Fawkes, the incinerated bird, is a phoenix. Before D and H can talk about why Harry got sent there, HAGRID flew in, defending Harry D claims he knew H wasn't attacking people, but still asked if H had anything to tell him, H lied (thinking of the voices) and said no Christmas break came and the castle was mostly empty. Hermione joined the boys in their room xmas morning declaring the potion ready for bits of crabbe and goyle and millicent. She also had a plan for knocking out the actual people while they impersonated them Harry and Ron knocked out the boys and joined Hermione in moaning myrtle's bathroom People parts added, they drank their polyjuice potions and suffered through the painful transformation Hermione refused to come out of her stall so the boys trecked alone (as crabbe and goyle) to find the Slytherin common room They find malfoy who led them to the common room. Malfoy gloated over an article stated mr weasley was fined 50 galleons for the flying car As they discussed the chamber of Secrets, the boys discover malfoy knew nothing about who was doing it, much to ron's dismay Malfoy did inform them that someone died the last time the chamber was opened, and that someone was expelled and possibly thrown into azkaban, wizard prison Malfoy let slip the secret chamber under his family's drawing room floor and as Ron shouts out in surprise his face started to change Harry and Ron ran for it, claiming to need the infirmary for their stomachaches Returning to the bathroom the boys discovered why hermione didn't join them: she used cat hair and was covered in fur and had yellow eyes, cat ears, and a tail.
