Products often tell you exactly how they're intended to be used. But why leave it at that? As a culture, we have long had a knack for finding ingenious, off-label uses for things. In this episode, we take a close look at a few examples of products that are ostensibly meant for one thing, but are better known for something else entirely. We explore Q-tips, which we are explicitly told not to put into our ears; the Hitachi Magic Wand, the iconic sex toy marketed as a body massager; the musical washboard; and the children's electrolyte solution Pedialyte that many adults swear by as a hangover cure. You'll hear from Hallie Lieberman, author of Buzz: A Stimulating History of the Sex Toy; Jacqui Barnett of the Columbus Washboard Company; Christopher Wilson, curator and chair of the Division of Home and Community Life at the Smithsonian; musician and educator Súle Greg Wilson; zydeco musicians C.J. Chenier and Steve Nash; Shaughnessy Bishop-Stall, author of Hungover: The Morning After and One Man's Quest for the Cure; as well as writers Roberto Ferdman, Dan Brooks, and Kaitlyn Tiffany. Decoder Ring is produced by Willa Paskin, Max Freedman, Katie Shepherd, and Evan Chung, Decoder Ring's supervising producer. We had additional production from Sofie Kodner. Big Jim, Ryan, and Jenny Jenny talk about key words that their parents would say when they wanted to do the nasty and get away with it. The post Family-Friendly Ways to Say You’re Having Sex appeared first on 94.7 WCSX.
Sexual intimacy is an essential part of any healthy relationship. But, there is a big difference between just having sex and making love. While sex is a physical act that fulfills a physical need, making love involves a deeper emotional connection between two people. It is an intimate experience that connects both the mind and the body, and even the soul.Making love requires vulnerability, communication, and a focus on creating a deep connection together. It is not just about physical pleasure; it involves sharing your deepest feelings, thoughts, and emotions during the act of lovemaking. In contrast, just having sex is more about stimulation, fulfilling one's own selfish physical needs, and focusing solely on the end goal of orgasm. If you want sexual intimacy to be even more amazing and connecting, then this episode is for you. In the episode Nick and Amy talk about the differences between making love, and just having sex. They also share tips on how to make love.If you haven't already, go check out the Ultimate Intimacy App in the app stores, or at ultimateintimacy.com to find "Ultimate Intimacy" in your marriage. In this episode you'll hear Juno's personal story of going from monogamy into polyamory. We talk about the very real struggles of doing this (jealousy and lack of societal support), AND the benefits of this kind of relationship structure too. This episode is unique because Juno isn't a sex or relationship coach. She's not trying to "sell" you a concept or lifestyle. She just wants to share her authentic experience so others can benefit. THANK YOU Juno! You'll even hear some personal stories from my own life in this episode too.

We've been talking about getting an open conversation going on mental health for years now. But we've never stopped and seen the parallels between the conversation around mental health and the conversation around sex. So often people feel ostracized because the language used around sex is likely to make us all feel different at some point.James sits down with two amazing guests who candidly share their personal experiences and expert knowledge on how sex impacts our mental health. The awesome Colin Ricards, sex and relationship engineer, who has been working in the field of psychosexual health for almost fifteen years now as well as our very own Audrey, Sanctus coach, sharing her personal experiences with vaginismus. If you would like to check out Audrey's blog or find out more about Colin's workshops and work - please find the links below!Audrey's Blog https://www.audreycairo.com/new-blog/2018/10/7/lets-talk-about-sex-vaginismus Colin's Websitehttps://www.intimacymatters.co.uk/

Can I afford the baby? 5. Will I ever get to sleep again? Eventually you will but the beginning is pretty brutal. 6. Fear of having sex during pregnancy? Will sex hurt the child? Will sex potentially hurt my wife? 7. Will having the baby kill our intimacy? Probably yes, but there are things you can do to reduce that….and some things you can't. 8. Having Sex after childbirth – What will it be like? Things may be different physically and emotionally. 9. How can I keep the child safe? – The world is a scary place! We just want to keep them from harm. 10. How will I be able to maintain a work-life balance? See episode 46. Things just sort of change. You are forced to make changes. 11.
