Francisco Ortega recibe una vez más al creador de Caso 63, esta vez, para bucear en los secretos y misterios de esta nueva pieza de su ajedrez: Selección Natural.
Julio Rojas es uno de los guionistas más premiados de Chile, creador de largometrajes de éxito internacional como ‘La vida de los peces' (Premio Goya a la Mejor Película Iberoamericana 2012), ‘Sábado', ‘Mi Mejor enemigo', ‘En la cama' o ‘La Memoria del Agua'. Sin embargo, uno de los guiones con los que alcanzó el reconocimiento y popularidad a niveles nunca vistos fue la audioserie ‘Caso 63', adaptada en India, Brasil y Estados Unidos (cuya versión en inglés interpretaron Julianne Moore y Oscar Isaac). Esta serie, de la que recientemente el autor ha emitido su spin off, titulado ‘Enigma', fue reconocida por el periódico The New York Times como una de las mejores audioficciones de 2020 (número 1 en todos los rankings mundiales) y recibió el Premio Ondas al Mejor Podcast de Ficción en 2022. ¿Cuál es el secreto del éxito de este autor y cómo es posible que sus predicciones distópicas se cumplan? Posiblemente, la clave está en una combinación de creatividad, imaginación y saber leer la actualidad para interpretar el futuro. La infancia de Rojas transcurrió entre la colección familiar de la revista ‘Reader's Digest', que en la década de los años 50 auguraba coches voladores y robots para el año 2000, y la máquina de escribir Remington portable de su padre, que le dio una resma de hojas en blanco para que pudiera escribir. Así comenzó su larga y fructífera carrera como autor. “Tenemos una obsesión por contar historias. Tenemos una obsesión por configurar escenarios futuros porque somos una especie que le tiene miedo a la muerte, que es consciente de sí misma, pero que también quiere mejorar. Aunque parezca que no, es una especie que quiere mejorar y no hay manera mejor de mejorar que visualizar el futuro”, reflexiona el guionista, especializado en crear thrillers distópicos y escenarios de ciencia ficción, como recogen sus libros ‘El visitante extranjero', ‘El final del metaverso', ‘Freeland' y ‘Retornados'.
