In the last episode, I told you the first part of the story of three-year-old Arabella Parker, who was rushed to the hospital on October 10, 2019, reportedly suffering from a seizure. Because medical staff wasn't told that the seizure resulted from severe head trauma, the damage was irreparable, and Arabella died on November 22, 2019.In this episode, I'll take you through the hearings and the trials of the three people accused of allowing, causing, or covering up the reason for Arabella's death: her mother, Samantha Delcamp; Samantha's boyfriend, Jahrid Burgess; and Jahrid's mother, Christy Willis. In the next episode, you'll hear my conversations with several people close to Arabella's case. This is part two of the complex, tragic story of Arabella Parker, retold. The Crime Wire article, “Amanda Parker, Samantha Delcamp, and the Domestic Violence Debate”: https://thecrimewire.com/multifarious/woman-who-berated-samantha-delcamp-is-branded-a-hypocrite Beyond Duress: Supporting the Admissibility of Evidence of Battered Woman Syndrome to Aid the Defenses of Battered Mothers Charged with Failing to Protect Their Children Against Their Common Abuser: https://aulawreview.org/blog/beyond-duress-supporting-the-admissibility-of-evidence-of-battered-woman-syndrome/ Photos related to today's episode can be viewed on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/sufferthelittlechildrenpod You can also follow the podcast on:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/sufferthelittlechildrenpodTwitter: https://www.twitter.com/STLCpodTikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@STLCpodMy Linktree is available here: https://linktr.ee/stlcpod Visit the podcast's web page at https://www.sufferthelittlechildrenpod.com. I first met pianist Katharina Kegler in 1992 when I auditioned for the position of trumpet professor at the Freiburg Musik Hochschule. Katharina was assigned to me as the accompanist for the short concert I would have to play and, unbeknownst to me, it was her first service since being hired at the Hochschule. So over many year we have not only taught together, but also performed together, both in Germany and in Japan. During our many years together, I can't recall a time where I disagreed with any of her ideas on musicality or phrasing. Her judgement always just seemed so logical and deep. So in this interview I ask her a number of questions about musicality and phrasing, and was both surprised and delighted with her answers. We begin Part 1 with my asking Katharina about her studies with Tibor Hazay (Freiburg Musik Hochschule) and John Perry (Rice University), two very different personalities and both very deep musicians. We then discuss the steps that Katharina goes through to learn a piece by Brahms (as an example), discussing how she builds her interpretation over time. She also explains why she's against students learning a piece by first listening to recordings. For Contributing Listeners (Part 2): Katharina has spent a great many years not only playing chamber and solo literature, but also accompanying students. She has also worked at the Munich ARD competition, perhaps the world's most highly recognized solo competition, and so I ask her about the difference between accompanying college level students, the top players at the Munich competition, and finally, top professionals. We talk about her work with students, and end the conversation with Katharina as an entrepreneur with the work she put in to start the concert series, Musikfest Ebringen.Dorico Professional music notation and composition software from Steinberg. “Doing the Right IT Projects” sounds simple. It should be how you to start your project lifecycle and quality methodology: Setting criteria for how IT projects are selected, prioritized and planned, and how the appropriate level of project management, quality assurance and resources are assigned. There are buckets/workstreams for large/complex IT projects and for simple projects that need only project and testing checklists. Once the right projects are in the queue, then you move on to “Doing IT Projects Right”, the initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, transition to operate and maintain, and of course, adoption. IT is then supporting business service demands and strategic goals across all IT projects in the organization. This podcast session provides a takeaway in the form of a framework for anyone who is responsible for how technologies are implemented or has to manage IT projects, or really manage any projects in a legal organization.
