Scott E. Moore is a veteran singer-songwriter and guitarist. He's also an accomplished video producer-director-writer and film composer, which he does through his boutique production company WingTip, inc. He works a lot - on a lot of different things: from performing his own music to playing guitar for others to creating diverse high-end video projects for major clients to scoring other people's film and TV work. In 2013 he co-composed and produced 2 hours of gorgeous meditation music for Deepak Chopra and Oprah Winfrey. His business card says "soulful storytelling with pictures and sound," which pretty much sums it up. Scott calls his sound "Americana Soul." His rootsy blend of blues, folk and r&b - as well as his vibe and chops, have made him a comfortable fit performing in venues large and small alongside a diverse group of acts, such as acoustic blues virtusoso Kelly Joe Phelps, Americana crooner Raul Malo (The Mavericks), jazz artists Tuck & Patti, French pop star Tété, folkies Patty Larkin, Steve Forbert, Melissa Ferrick, roots rocker Rhett Miller (The Ol' 97's) and New Orleans band Cowboy Mouth...and even musical comedic legends The Smothers Brothers. And many others.Every few years Scott makes a record. Many longtime fans and followers feel "Home Bittersweet Home" is his strongest. Recorded in East Nashville with producer Neilson Hubbard (Glenn Phillips, Garrison Starr, Stray Don't Sleep), it's a moody, groovy, and lush-sounding collection of Scott's confessional tunes. The songs are driven front & center by Scott's signature sultry, intimate vocal and acoustic guitar, with atmospheric touches of real strings and steel guitar - all anchored by a band consisting of Hubbard's pop-like keyboards and guitar, Marco Giovino (Robert Plant, Patty Griffin, Tom Jones) on drums, James Haggerty (Josh Rouse, The Autumn Defense, Original Blues Brothers) on bass, with Scott adding his bluesy electric playing.__________________Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Prince featured the "Upper Room with Joe Kelley and Gi Dussault" on his official website www.npgmusicclub.com.

Also R.I.P.s to Ronnie Hawkins, Kelly Joe Phelps, and Belle du Berry. A nod - of sorts - to the Queen's 70th anniversary, and as many bits of irreverence and celebration and lamenting as anyone can take in 4 hours of the musical mayhem served up today - amidst some pretty horrendous Wi-Fi connection challenges!

Vancouver singer-songwriter and actor Adrian Glynn has just released his third solo recording, "Ghostlight Sessions" and it's an album with a difference - it was recorded on an empty theatre stage in Kamloops BC at the start of the Covid-19 coronavirus pandemic. An introspective, acoustic folk record, the songs on the new album move from a talkin' blues about suicidal depression, to a modern satirical take on "If I Had A Hammer", to an ode to slide-guitar guru Kelly Joe Phelps. Ghostlight Sessions is only available as a digital download from Bandcamp. A portion of the proceeds (25%) will go to the NAACP and BIPOC-Covid related organizations. For more information about Adrian Glynn, visit https;//adrianglynn.com. Raised in Toledo, Ohio, Chuck has lived most of his adult life in the Berkshire Mountains of Massachusetts, moving to the Buzzards Bay shoreline in 2002. He has been traveling to coffeehouses, performing arts centers and festivals sowing seeds of his songs along the way.Chuck's approach is typically relaxed, at times sentimental and always confident. He is not a folk artist with heavy political leanings in his songwriting such as Joan Baez, Phil Ochs or U. Utah Phillips. However, what Chuck has mastered is how to pull at Americana heartstrings and tell rootsy stories through his simple and effective novella type lyrics. Nothing is overproduced or played with flash. Chuck has a personable singing style and it's not done to impress but express. His music has some of the same energies of songwriters such as David Crosby, John Prine, and definitely Neil Young, while not sounding like any of them. There is something here that a lot of people are going to latch on to, especially in these trying times. Chuck's music does exactly what it is suppose to do.....it reaches emotions in the listener. It gives words to feelings we all share and provokes thought long after the music is over. His style is unique yet it feels familiar.Rhode Islands Motif Music Awards has nominated Chuck as Singer/Songwriter of the Year ('07, '08, '09, ‘11), for Album Of the Year ('07, '08 and ‘10) and Best Folk Act ('07, ‘12). Chuck has had the pleasure of opening for national touring artists such as Cheryl Wheeler, Jimmy LeFave, Rod McDonald, Steve Forbert, Pegi Young & the Survivors, Kelly Joe Phelps, Beau Coup Blue, Claude Bourbon and Michael Troy.Chuck was the President of the Rhode Island Songwriters Association (RISA) for nine years. He is also a member of Folk Alliance, NERFA, ASCAP and the ACMA.Williams employs a voice that resembles Neil Young's with the edges rounded-off. There seems to be a proud and strong tradition of folk music speaking truth to power within his tunes. Don DiMuccio, Motif Magazine

This edition of The Roadhouse requires no electricity - for the musicians, anyway. A full hour of acoustic blues is lead by Dom Flemons, Catfish Keith, South Memphis String Band, Kelly Joe Phelps, and The Little Brothers. Straight blues, country blues, rags, pre-war, post-war, some stuff that falls somewhere in-between - it's all acoustic in this edition. And, it's definitaly another hour of the finest blues you've never heard: the 531st Roadhouse.

The 411th Roadhouse is another hour of great voices, instruments, broad variety, musical themes. JJ Grey & Mofro, Kelly Joe Phelps, Ann Rabson with Bob Margolin, The Mojo Roots, and Dana Gillespie help make up the hour along with 7 or 8 other great blues artists and tracks - all in total, of course, strong enough to qualify as another hour of the finest blues you've never heard.

Our 34th podcast features an interview with singer-songwriter duo Corinne West and Kelly Joe Phelps. Though the pair have had lengthy solo careers for years, they've recently decided to perform together as a group. We ask them about how they approach songwriting as a duo, what instruments they're using and about their forthcoming album. We also ask Phelps about his great slide guitar playing (which, sadly, he no longer does). At the end of the interview, the duo performed a tune on their matching Martin HD-28s. Recorded at the Fretboard Journal offices on January 17, 2011. Be sure to check out our exclusive video of the pair singing "Night Falls Away Singing" here.

The tiny bandstand in the Roadhouse lights up with a range of blues broad enough to suit everyone. Big Jack Johnson & The Oilers, Joanne Shaw Taylor, Kelly Joe Phelps, Sugarcane Collins, and John Nemeth take the stage as the bartender pours shots, scowling at anyone who leaves the bar without leaving a tip. Before the waitresses put the chairs up on the tables, you'll have no doubt you've experienced another hour of the finest blues you've never heard - the 211th Roadhouse Podcast.

Thanksgiving, and thanks for allowing me to take the week off. I'm headed off for a much needed break for a couple of days, but in the meantime, some great music that you will hopefully be thankful for. This month is a great one for shows, and up soon are Kelly Joe Phelps at WECC on Tuesday, and our old friends the Wailin' Jennys next Sunday, so some songs to get you ready for those. I'm off to Minneapolis this weekend (I think), so a few songs in honour of that place. Later on, a trip back in time to April 23, 2006 when Todd Hunter and Jeff Derksen from the Todd Hunter Band stopped by to tell us about their then new album, Life is Good. Todd will be part of a great fundraiser at the West End on Friday, October 12, and hopefully this classic live set will have you eager to attend.
