Nick and Angela celebrate Mother's Day this week on Dish. Stacey Dooley MBE is an investigative journalist, TV presenter and author. Born in Luton, she first appeared on television in Blood, Sweat and T-Shirts, a documentary exploring the realities of fast fashion in India. Stacey's curiosity and empathy prompted the BBC to commission Stacey Dooley Investigates, which began in 2009. In recognition of her outstanding contribution to broadcasting, she was awarded an MBE in 2018. That same year, Stacey won Strictly Come Dancing, taking home the glitterball trophy with her dance partner and now long-term partner Kevin Clifton. The couple welcomed their daughter, Minnie, in 2023. Stacey's new book Dear Minnie: Conversations with Remarkable Mothers is out now. Angela provides some inspiration for Mother's Day, with an afternoon tea-style menu. She prepares a delicious puttanesca puff tart (packed with all of Stacey's favourite flavours) and Martha Collison's triple cheese scones. The experts at Waitrose pair this with a Masi Campofiorin. This episode is full of fun and heartwarming moments. Stacey talks about the many loves of her life, principally: her family, her after-hours snack of choice and, despite never having met him, Nick's boyfriend Mesh. Nick and Angela continue their Christmas tradition and welcome a Hollywood star to Dish HQ. Born and raised in South-West London, Tom Holland's career began on the West End, when he won the part of Billy Elliot in 2008. He went on to star in the critically-acclaimed film, The Impossible with Naomi Watts in 2012. He is best known for his role as Spider-Man and his first foray into the Marvel Universe came in Captain America: Civil War in 2016. He has since reprised the role in Spider-Man: Homecoming, Spider-Man: Far From Home, Spider-Man: No Way Home, and several Avengers movies. Tom Holland is here to celebrate the launch of Bero, his new alcohol-free beer. Angela prepares a festive feast of slow-cooked pork shoulder with peas & mint with roast potatoes with rosemary salt, sticky pigs in blankets, the best cauliflower cheese, by Martha Collison and orange & honey glazed carrots. The experts at Waitrose pair this with a No.1 Piccini Chianti Classico Riserva. To finish, Angela makes Tom's favourite, orange Jaffa cakes and serves some No.1 brown butter mince pies. This episode is the perfect end to another wonderful year on Dish. Nick and Angela share their plans for the holidays and we find out what happens at a Holland family Christmas. Damian Lewis grew up in North London and, after a spell in boarding school, returned to the city to study acting at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. He began his career with the Royal Shakespeare Company before transitioning to television. Damian's breakout role came in Band of Brothers, which was the most expensive TV show of all-time, in 2001. His portrayal of Nicholas Brody in Homeland earned him both an Emmy Award and a Golden Globe. His latest film, The Radleys, is adapted from a book by Matt Haig and tells the story of a family of vampires. Nick mixes an Old-Fashioned for Damian while Angela prepares caponata bruschetta to start, followed by hearty pumpkin risotto, inspired by a butternut squash recipe by Martha Collison. The experts at Waitrose pair this with a Gabriel Meffre Côte du Rhône. Damian Lewis is the perfect dinner-guest; he arrives hungry and armed with excellent anecdotes. Richard Armitage's dream of becoming an actor began in his teens, in a circus in Budapest, where he slept within sniffing distance of the elephant enclosure to earn a much-needed Equity card. Having spent his early career on stage, his big break came in the BBC adaptation of Elizabeth Gaskell's North and South in 2004. Richard went on to star in Spooks, before scoring roles in The Hobbit Trilogy and Ocean's 8. Recently he has appeared in Netflix hits including Obsession and Fool Me Once, with Michelle Keegan. Acting is not his only creative endeavour: Richard is also an author. His debut novel was a number 1 bestseller on Audible and his latest offering, The Cut, is out now. Nick mixes a non-alcoholic Pentire coastal spritz for Richard while Angela prepares the best smash burger, a recipe by Martha Collison, serving it with oven chips. Nick and Angela enjoy a 0% Stella Artois with their meal, while the experts at Waitrose suggest a Rasteau Edition Limitee as the wine pairing. Our trio discuss Richard's army of loyal fans, what it's like to read audiobooks for a living and how a chance meeting in a graveyard inspired his new novel. The actor and writer join Nick and Angela to talk about the new series of The Responder. Martin Freeman is a man of many genres and he has mastered most of them in his 27 year career. We first fell in love with him as Tim in The Office in 2001; he gained cult status as Dr Watson in Sherlock in 2010; and then hit the big time as Bilbo Baggins in The Hobbit in 2012. Martin won a Bafta and an Emmy for Sherlock and last year scooped an International Emmy for his portrayal of Chris Carson in The Responder. Tony Schumacher spent 12 years as a policeman in Liverpool before a period of poor mental health forced him to take stock. While on the road to healing, Tony tried his hand at stand-up comedy and, encouraged by his wife, decided to pursue his dream of becoming an author. Tony has written three novels and penned his critically-acclaimed BBC drama with Martin Freeman in mind. Nick welcomes our guests with a negroni while Angela prepares the best bolognese by Martha Collison, a dish specially requested by Martin. The meal is paired with a Villa Antinori Rosso by the experts at Waitrose. Talk around the table kicks off with praise for Martin Freeman's Liverpudlian accent, we find out what makes Tony cry and Martin recalls the day he decided vegetarianism was no longer for him. Nick and Angela welcome an OG Derry girl to Dish HQ. Saoirse-Monica Jackson grew up in Northern Ireland and studied acting at the Arden School of Theatre in Manchester. She is best known and loved for her portrayal of Erin Quinn in the Emmy award-winning series Derry Girls. Over three seasons the 90s-set comedy became the most popular show on Channel 4 and is now a hit with a global audience on Netflix. It wasn't long before Hollywood came knocking and Saoirse-Monica won a role in the DC superhero movie The Flash. She is currently starring in period drama The Doll Factory on Paramount+ and later in the year will also appear in The Decameron, based on Giovanni Boccaccio's 14th-century collection of comic short stories. Nick kicks off proceedings with a bottle of the Waitrose loved & found Nerello Mascalese rosé while Angela puts the finishing touches to the best lasagne; a recipe by Martha Collison. As our trio tuck into their meal, they enjoy a delicious glass of the Waitrose loved & found Lacrima and discuss the pitfalls of planning a birthday party, Saoirse-Monica's favourite snacks and Derry Girls the Movie. Nick and Angela welcome an author and charity co-founder to Dish HQ. Dawn O'Porter was born in Scotland but grew up in Guernsey with her aunt and uncle. She spent three years at the Liverpool School for Performing Arts but decided that acting wasn't for her and got into TV instead. Dawn made her name making documentaries, which explored topics like dieting, dating, pregnancy and polyamory. She moved to LA and met her husband, actor Chris O'Dowd. In 2013, Dawn published her first novel Paper Aeroplanes and has released several books since, including the Sunday Times best-seller, The Cows in 2016. She is one of the founding members of the charity Choose Love which helps refugees all over the world. Angela prepares The Best Fish Pie by Martha Collison for seafood fan Dawn with garden peas while Nick pours a Waitrose Loved & Found Carignan blanc. This very special baking-focused episode features an incredible line-up of expert guests: Nigella Lawson, Edd Kimber and Ravneet Gill, who between them have written countless baking recipes and produced thousands of cakes, biscuits, buns and breads. They join Jimi Famurewa and guest co-host Martha Collison – the youngest person ever to take part in The Great British Bake Off and a baking aficionado in her own right – to look at why baking is more popular and meaningful than ever before. As well as asking if it's possible to have too many brownie recipes, the panel explore the ways in which baking brings us joy, pleasure and fulfilment, discuss how it can be a force for good, and agree that imperfect-looking bakes are often the best.To find out more about the show, go to waitrose.com/podcast.Host: Jimi FamurewaCo-host: Martha CollisonProducer: Sera BerksoyExecutive Producer: Nikki DuffyEditor: Nathan CopelinA John Brown production for Waitrose & Partners. Ed Drew has a chat with Marty Machowski, the expert on how to disciple your kids and host good family Bible times. We have been thinking on the podcast recently about how we can rely on, Jesus, God with us in the mess and chaos of lockdown and doing homeschool. How to keep this message strong within our families is often a struggle, if ever it's been tricky, it certainly is in lockdown. We hear some stories, advice and encouragement from Marty. He shares this gem - "The bottom line is that you can't do parenting alone. That's the Bible's message. The Lord is offering to help you. When I find that parents are most discouraged, I find parents who have forgotten that the Lord wants to partner with them. I'll ask them, "Have you tried everything?" They say, "Yes, I've tried everything." I say, "How much have you prayed?"If this podcast encourages you as you disciple your kids, please do send this episode on to a parent you think would appreciate it - maybe drop it into a WhatsApp group for your churches mums/dads/carers group with something you found encouraging from the episode. This new book Meals with Jesus from Faith in Kids in partnership with The Good Book Company can be ordered here. Ed chats with Robin Barfield and Ben Putt from 'Everyday Dadding' to help us think about how we can be better parents, specifically, dads. This episode features cookbook author and recipe writer Martha Collison, whose career launched years ago on Great British Bake Off and who continues to be a baking rockstar. There's also a cameo by the wonderful Rachel Khoo at the top of the episode! Martha was recommended to me by one of YOU (hi!) to be a guest during my author series of interviews. Martha is awesome. At 17 years old, she was the youngest person ever to compete on the Great British Bake Off - and not only compete, but she was a finalist! (It's called the Great British Baking Show in America). Martha’s episode was 4 years ago; now she is 21 and she is a twice-published cookbook author with her 2014 cookbook "Twist: Creative Ideas to ReInvent Your Baking," and last year's: "Crave: Brilliantly Indulgent Recipes." We chat about how she gets inspiration for new recipe ideas, she reflects on her time on the Great British Bake Off, and we talk about good ol' imposter syndrome. She also talks about how she sees social media impacting her career and the value of pursuing your passions, whatever your age. --meet martha-- @marthacollison - instagram www.bakingmartha.co.uk --meet rachel-- @rachelkhooks - instagram www.rachelkhoo.com --keep it quirky-- @keepitquirkypodcast - instagram @qkatie - katie quinn on instagram & twitter www.youtube.com/TheQKatie www.facebook.com/TheQKatie See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

Also on the show, our British #BombeSquad correspondent, Hester Cant, speaks to one of the stars of The Great British Bake Off, Martha Collison. Martha was the youngest ever contestant at age 17 and made it all the way to the quarter finals. She won the nation’s hearts as a 17-year-old when she became the youngest ever contestant on The Great British Bake Off in 2014. She’s baked for the Queen’s 90th birthday and has just launched her new cook book ‘Twist’. Yes it's Martha Collison! She joined Inspirational Breakfast and spoke about her strong faith and support of Christian International development charity Tearfund – and their Big Bake week – which is this week - an annual nationwide event to get you and your friends baking to (self) raise lots of money for the world’s poorest people.
