Julie discusses her transition from ICU nursing to hospice care, the emotional responses people have to death, and the significance of understanding mortality to live more fully. The conversation emphasizes the need for education around end-of-life choices and the healthcare system's role in supporting patients and families during this difficult time. Hospice Nurse Julie: Julie McFadden, RN, is a hospice and palliative care nurse, educator, and viral content creator widely known as @HospiceNurseJulie. Her approachable, honest, and deeply human perspective on death has made her a trusted voice across social media and beyond. She is the author of the New York Times bestselling book, Nothing to Fear: Demystifying Death to Live More Fully—a powerful guide that blends personal stories, medical insight, and emotional wisdom to help readers release fear and live more fully. The FDR quote from a century ago does nothing to explain that fear can create massive physical problems in a person who cannot regulate their emotions. The State seeks to always keep its citizens under pressure from external enemies to remain relevant and necessary. The corporate media's job is to divide and manipulate the public through fear, so it should not be surprising that social media was designed to serve a similar purpose. The threat of “terrorists” was the focus for the first two decades of the 21st century, until a new invisible enemy emerged in March of 2020. The newest boogieman is the looming threat of World War 3 that could kick off in Ukraine, the Middle East, or even the South China Sea. Resist the urge to give in to the fear. The Fuel of Fear: How God's Love Disarms the False Self In this episode of the Exploring More Podcast, Michael Thompson and SJ Jennings return to the powerful themes of hiding, proving, and fearing—three intertwined patterns that shape a man's internal world. They examine how fear fuels a “false self” and keeps men from living in the freedom and love God offers. Through personal stories, biblical insight, and years of spiritual formation experience, Michael and SJ unpack the metaphor of a heart running on empty—pushing through the desert until it reaches the “filling station” of God's love. This image frames a larger conversation about identity, healing, and the invitation to live with nothing to hide, prove, or fear. Listeners will discover how fear-driven behaviors often trace back to wounds, and how perfect love—real, experienced, and relational—can cast out that fear. The episode emphasizes the power of grace, honest self-reflection, and community in helping men step into the life of an oriented man: grounded in truth, formed by love, and surrounded by support. We hope you enjoy this episode and invite you to connect with us!
Nothing to Hide, Nothing to Prove, Nothing to Fear: The Journey to Authenticity In this episode of the Exploring More Podcast, Michael Thompson and SJ Jennings unpack a transformative phrase that strikes at the heart of a man's internal world: “Nothing to hide, nothing to prove, nothing to fear.” Drawing from biblical narratives like Adam's hiding in Eden and Peter's denial of Jesus, the hosts explore how these ancient stories mirror the modern male struggle with shame, self-worth, and identity. Personal moments—like the frustration of painting a camper—serve as vivid metaphors for deeper emotional triggers, revealing patterns of fear, anger, and a false self shaped by wounds and societal expectations. The conversation emphasizes how crucial it is for men to become self-aware, confront their past, and choose vulnerability. By naming emotions, recognizing emotional patterns, and engaging in healing practices like journaling and prayer, men can move from a place of hiding and proving to living free and whole. Community also plays a vital role. Whether it's support from a spouse, brothers in faith, or a spiritual counselor, the journey toward authenticity and freedom requires others. Cultural and social factors—like racial identity or childhood messages—are also addressed as part of what shapes the false self. Ultimately, the episode invites men to live “dangerous for good”—free from fear and shame, anchored in their true identity in Christ. Through grace, reflection, and authentic connection, men can walk a path of continual healing and lasting transformation. We hope you enjoy this episode and invite you to connect with us!

LESSON 48There Is Nothing To Fear.he idea for today simply states a fact. It is not a fact to those who believe in illusions, but illusions are not facts. In truth there is nothing to fear. It is very easy to recognize this. But it is very difficult to recognize it for those who want illusions to be true.Today's practice periods will be very short, very simple and very frequent. Merely repeat the idea as often as possible. You can use it with your eyes open at any time and in any situation. It is strongly recommended, however, that you take a minute or so whenever possible to close your eyes and repeat the idea slowly to yourself several times. It is particularly important that you use the idea immediately, should anything disturb your peace of mind. The presence of fear is a sure sign that you are trusting in your own strength. The awareness that there is nothing to fear shows that somewhere in your mind, though not necessarily in a place you recognize as yet, you have remembered God, and let His strength take the place of your weakness. The instant you are willing to do this there is indeed nothing to fear.- Jesus Christ in ACIM

IN THIS EPISODE: Death is one of life's greatest mysteries, and even for Christians, it often carries a heavy weight of fear—not because of what comes after, but because of the unknown pain and sorrow in the process. While faith assures us of eternal life with Christ, the sting of death and the finality of goodbyes can still grip the heart. Yet, the Bible reminds us that death is not the end—it's a doorway to something far greater.Hear previous messages and find our social media at https://WeirdDarkness.com/Church! I greet you in Jesus' precious name! It is Wednesday morning, the 13th of November, 2024, and this is your friend, Angus Buchan, with a thought for today. We start in 2 Kings 6:17. "Elisha prayed, and said, “Lord, I pray, open his eyes that he may see. ”Then the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw. And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.” Then we go to Genesis 33:1: “Now Jacob lifted his eyes and looked, and there, Esau was coming, and with him were four hundred men.” We need to open our spiritual eyes and we also need to always remember, if we are followers of Jesus Christ there are always more who are for us than those who are against us. F B Meyer was a great preacher and he said, “Do not lift up your eyes and look for Esau's. Those who look for troubles will not be long without finding trouble to look at. Lift them higher to Him from whom our help comes, then you will be able to meet your troubles with an unperturbed spirit. Those who have seen the face of God need not fear the face of man that shall die. To have power with God is to have power over all the evils that threaten us." Isn't that a beautiful promise? You know, the very thing you are afraid of might never take place. Now we go back to the story of Jacob and Esau. You see, Jacob had been very unkind to Esau, he had cheated Esau of his inheritance, and there comes his brother Esau with 400 men. Jacob thought it was payback time, he was petrified, he put his family behind him and he thought, “Well, here we go!” And what happened? Esau ran over to him and hugged him and loved him. The very thing that he was afraid of was actually nothing to be afraid of because his brother was coming to love him. Maybe today there is something in your life which is really making you so fearful. I want to suggest to you, lift up your eyes a bit higher, just like Elijah's servant. Elijah prayed, “Lord, open his eyes and let him see that there are more who are for us than those against us - chariots of fire all around the mountain! I want to tell you, if God is on your side - you have got nothing to fear!Jesus bless you and have a wonderful day,Goodbye.

I am so thrilled to welcome Hospice Nurse Julie to the show to talk to us all about end-of-life care: what to expect, what actively dying looks like, why it's so important to normalize discussing death, and what inspired Julie to start posting on TikTok and write her book, Nothing to Fear: Demystifying Death to Live More Fully. If you're afraid of dying, or even thinking about death, this conversation might just be the one you need to hear. Julie's content went viral on TikTok just after 4 days which speaks to the need for education around death and dying. And getting educated often reduces our fear around it, so I hope you enjoy this conversation with Julie as much as I did. CW: a large portion of this conversation focuses on death and dying, and Julie talks about what actively dying looks like at the 22 minute mark. If you're sensitive to this, please consider skipping that section or this conversation. Read the show notes for today's episode at terricole.com/643

In the last episode of Season 1 - Jane and Sarah respond to listeners' fears about mediumship: Demons, evil spirits, and dark energy - Oh my! That IS a lot to be fearful of. But! The team addresses common misconceptions and some of the source of those fears. They also explore the role of spirit guides in protection and setting intentions along with the concept of sovereignty over their own energetic bodies. Of course love takes over and the conversation turns to the beautiful fact that crossed-over loved ones evolve and change and can heal and grow, because the connection to them never ends! Before closing, Sarah and Jane both share tools for ensuring safety in spirit communication AND in a first time event, the lovely Sarah leads a beautiful meditation to connect us all in love and light.TakeawaysFear of spirit communication is common due to societal conditioning and misconceptions.Setting intentions and working with spirit guides can provide protection and ensure a positive experience.Mediums have the ability to establish boundaries and choose not to engage with negative or unhealed spirits. Loved ones on the other side continue to evolve and learn from mediumship readings.Setting boundaries and intention is crucial in maintaining a safe and positive mediumship experience.Being aware of one's own energy and emotions is essential for discernment and maintaining energetic sovereignty.Memorable Quotes:“It's actually no surprise that people are scared of this because I feel like it's been drilled into us to be scared of spirit communication.”-Sarah“We talk about these boundaries. You have domain and you have agency over your field.”-JaneLinks:Medium Curious Website: MediumCuriousJane's Website: Jane Morgan Medium Sarah's Website: Sarah RathkePodcast Instagram: MediumCuriousPod (@mediumcuriouspod) Podcast Tiktok: MediumCuriousPod (@theREAL_mediumcurious) If you enjoyed this episode of Medium Curious, please Rate, Review, and Subscribe to our podcast. In this episode, we realize that the resurrection of Jesus reminds us that Christ has conquered even the worst thing we could imagine.
In this show, I will introduce you to an old radio buddy and friend of mine Jim McInnes. Jim and I met in the 90's when we worked at the classic rock legendary radio station in San Diego the KGB. Jim McInnes is one of the most respected broadcasters in Southern California. As one may assume our friendship was based on music, radio, and mutual respect. What we did not realize all those decades ago is that we were also aligned in many other ways. During today's podcast Jimmy shares a fascinating story with me about his mother. His mother Jeanne was extremely spiritual and when he was just a young man she would often talk to him about the afterlife. She even told him she would be sure to visit him when her time eventually came when she died. Well, that day did arrive. Jeanne crossed over on December 8th, 1997 with Jimmy and his brother at her bedside. As promised she did indeed visit him. It was the following March while he and his wife Sandi were visiting his family heritage in Ireland. During her brief visitation, his mother appeared so lifelike, that Jim actually reached for her. She had an important life message for him. She told him to never, ever be afraid, especially of death and dying and that she would see him again one day. From the moment his mother visited him in a hotel room in Dublin on Jim felt an easy peaceful feeling wash over him about this life experience. From that day forward Jim stopped fearing anything and taking everything in stride Jim's information: The Vinyl Resting Place: http://www.rezradio.fm/shows/vinyl-re... He assured me, every bit of it is completely true! The story also comes with visuals. When he originally posted the story on Reddit, Mr. Rocca included photos and video links of what he was talking about, which he gave me permission to include in the transcript.SOURCES AND REFERENCES FROM THE EPISODE…Visit our Sponsors & Friends: https://weirddarkness.com/sponsorsJoin the Weird Darkness Syndicate: https://weirddarkness.com/syndicateAdvertise in the Weird Darkness podcast or syndicated radio show: https://weirddarkness.com/advertise= = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =Weird Darkness theme by Alibi Music Library.
