Były premier jest zdania, że Rosja nie napadnie na żadne państwo członkowskie NATO. Krytykuje też panikę w debacie publicznej, sugerując, że rozdmuchane obawy mogą prowadzić do niepotrzebnych napięć. Leszek Miller jest sceptyczny wobec stałej obecności amerykańskiej broni jądrowej w Polsce – równocześnie podkreśla, że Polska powinna dążyć do wzmocnienia własnych sił zbrojnych, jednocześnie utrzymując ścisłą współpracę z NATO.
