This week I'm highlighting an episode from the archive, with the engaging and talented Leslie DeShazor who is a multi-style violist, violinist and composer based in Detroit. She teaches students both through the Sphinx Organization and the Detroit Symphony as well as privately. She was named one of thirty Professional Movers and Shakers in the Performing Arts by Musical America in 2019 and in 2022 she released her jazz and R&B album “Journey With Me” which features herself as soloist, bandleader, and composer, and "Simply Complicated" from that album is part of this podcast episode. This conversation was full of stories and insights from Leslie's life. She shared valuable perspectives that educators, parents and anyone who mentors children and young adults will find inspiring and thought-provoking. We talked a lot about why kids quit playing music, why so many young adults today have trouble figuring out the direction of their life, and how the educational system can take away people's innate creativity and confidence. In today's episode, we take you back to the late 90s and early 80s hip-hop and skateboarding culture in New York City with director Jeremy Elkin's new documentary, ‘All The Streets Are Silent: The Convergence of Hip Hop and Skateboarding.'In the late 80s and early 90s, the streets of downtown Manhattan were the site of a collision between two vibrant subcultures: skateboarding and hip hop. All the Streets Are Silent brings to life the magic of that time and the convergence that created a style and visual language that would have an outsized and enduring cultural effect. From the DJ booths and dance floors of the Mars nightclub to the founding of brands like Supreme, this convergence would lay the foundation for modern street style. Paris Is Burning meets Larry Clark's KIDS, All the Streets Are Silent is a love letter to New York—examining race, society, fashion, and street culture.Jeremy is the founder of Elkin Editions---an independent video production studio under which he's done production, writing, cinematography, and directing. He's most notable for his 2015 hot topic directorial debut, Call Me Caitlyn, and a second unit director on recording artist, Demi Lovato's 2017 documentary, Simply Complicated (trailer). The documentary gives a personal and intimate look into Demi Lovato's life as not only a regular 25-year-old but also one of the biggest pop stars in the world.I thoroughly enjoyed watching All The Streets Are Silent. It gives one all the good nostalgic feels while also provoking current socio-cultural consciousness.Enjoy my chat with Jeremy Elkin.

Jealousy is a real energy suck. It feels horrible. It can break down our morale and our relationships. Did you know that your jealousy is showing you something. The final episode of Simply Complicated is HERE. 3 years of conversations and changes on this channel and it was time to close it out. We find ourselves faced with dozens of decisions every day. Hundreds probably but let's talk about the BIG ones. A big life choice can cause you to spin on your axis. It can bring up all sorts of feels that you didn't even consider. It doesn't make what's right, wrong... it makes you human. This ep was more about reassurance than giving you the tools to figure it out. No one knows what's best for you, except you BUT it often helps to know that the process can also look like a dog's breakfast. That fact is A-OK.
The saying is 'Time heals'. Hmmmm. Does it though? What's your relationship to TIME? If you are in the trenches, in a deep pit of heavy feelings or navigating a season that sucks, you probably heard this phrase. I get it, but I'm not buying it. Time does many things but miraculously healing all isn't one of them. Join us for the penultimate episode of Simply Complicated, I am so grateful to have shared this space with you. @katieford.com.au

Latest rumor on Jeff Hardy potentially joining AEW. Multiple promotions interested in Shane Strickland and where I think he might land. Jay White makes an appearance on AEW Dynamite, but gets overshadowed by the debut of Keith Lee (who is officially All Elite) and why WWE should've debuted Keith Lee LIKE THAT ON DYNAMITE?! A bloody main event between Hangman Page & Lance Archer. Jeff Cobb pulled from NJPW events due to an injury. Bryan Danielson will be inducted in the ROH Hall Of Fame. MLW granted motion to seal financial information in their lawsuit against WWE. WWE blasted for pushing Goldberg down the fans throat. Simply Complicated// Monique Paniagua// Simplistic Art Of Being Blessed by Saints Church
I sängen ligger Demi orörlig. Hang in there okay, we are on our way. I'll let you know when they are outside. You should be hearing the sirens real soon, säger larmoperatören. Wait. No sirens, please, right? No, no, no. This is a medical emergency, I have no control over that. Exekutiv producent Anna Johannessen. Slutmixen är gjord av Fredrik Nilsson. P3 Musikdokumentär görs av produktionsbolaget Tredje Statsmakten Media.Ljudklippen i dokumentären kommer från Demi Lovatos egna dokumentärer Dancing With the Devil (2021) och Simply Complicated (2017), spelfilmerna Camp Rock och Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam, tv-serien Sonny With a Chance, tv-programmen The Ellen Show (2020), The Late Late Show (2013), American Idol (2012), Access Hollywood (2013), NBC:s Today Show (2010), ABC:s Good Morning America (2008), Barney & Friends, Grammygalan 2020, radioprogrammet On Air with Ryan Seacrest (2011), Demi Lovatos egna youtubekanal, samt youtubekanalerna TMZ, delena722820 och Jennifer Sansone.

Jealousy is a real energy suck. But did you know that your jealousy is showing you something. At least that’s what life coach Katie Dean reckons. It's so easy to be sure of everything when it's so easy to find people who agree with you. And for COVID deniers and free speech advocates, we sometimes have to know that we just don't know everything.
Books have a way of getting into our DNA, burrowing deep into the way we see the world, our place in it, and the possibilities of change or the complexities of acceptance. In this episode, writer and media analyst Achala Upendran curates a set of readings that were chosen because of their formative role in one's worldview, or because they opened up a different way of seeing. Books featured in the episode: 1. Matilda, Roald Dahl (read by Anuja Vaidya) 2. A Little Princess, Francis Hodgson Burnett (read by Priyanka Mookerjee) 3. The Giver, Lois Lowry (read by Shreya Jindal) 4. The Book of Lost Things, John Connolly (read by Achala Upendran) 5. A Two Toned Tale, Bonophool (read by Ramona Sen) 7. The Wind Up Bird Chronicle, Haruki Murakami (read by Neha Vaddadi) 8. If This is a Man, Primo Levi (read by Tarini Mookerjee) Some of the readers are writers too! Do check out their books: Hedon by Priyanka Mookerjee (Penguin, 2016) Simply Complicated and Another Chance at Life by Shreya Jindal (Penguin Metro Reads) Crème Brulee by Ramona Sen (Rupa, 2016) The Sultanpur Chronicles: The Shadowed City by Achala Upendran (Hachette, 2018)

Wonderful chat on what we all think but don't say, on friendship, love, relationships, purpose and service. Jeffrey Cobelli is a filmmaker, stand up comedian, humanitarian, health coach, and host his own podcast called ‘Simply Complicated'. In 2006 at the age of 26, Jeffrey Cobelli, an Emerson College graduate, started working his way into the movie, film, TV and video industry with 3 internships at post production companies that were editing high end commercials. The lessons learned from those editors were invaluable. But Jeffrey soon experienced some dicey freelance jobs directing low budget music videos. In 2008 Jeffrey was hired to film a humanitarian trip in the Dominican Republic and it changed his life (spiritually and professionally). Films and storytelling were the key. With a clear direction on a career Jeffrey founded Good for You Productions in 2009 and produced his first documentary, Someday Melissa. Good for You has produced commercials, movies, documentaries, testimonials, corporate videos, and social media videos. While starting his film company he also went on a health mission and over the course of 6 years lost nearly 70 pounds. This transformation gave Jeffrey the confidence to work on one of his loves which is to make people smile and laugh and so began his comedy career as well. Fun Facts: Jeffrey loves baseball and plays on 2 baseball teams and has climbed Mount Kilimanjaro. Thanks for listening, rating and sharing with others. Dr David Mauricio is the new superintendent of the Peekskill Central School District and in 1 year has already made progress and improvements within the school district. I learned a lot about his passion to pay it forward and why he dedicates most of his time to improving the culture and education of Peekskill children. Chance and Noah do a podcast, and you're going to hear us ROAR! On this week's episode, we take on pop musicians by unpacking their self-produced documentaries. In Demi Lovato's "Simply Complicated," the guys are torn about objectivity and ulterior motives. In Justin Bieber's "Never Say Never," Chance and Noah spar over whether Bieber is a talented performer or a symptom of parasitic celebrity culture. Finally, in Katy Perry's "Part of Me," Chance would maybe grab a beer with this surprising acolyte of Alanis Morissette, while Noah can't get over how terrible a husband Russell Brand was. If this genre isn't your cup of tea, sorry not sorry.
