Niren Bhatt needs no intro. A very successful writer with a range of box office hits from Stree 2, which did 400 cr. plus business, to another hit of the year Munjya. You can google Niren Bhatt and see his writing across genres, many of which you would have heard or seen. But, more than the box office figures what is interesting to know is how does Niren Bhatt think? Because writing is a thinking process- and the way you think is the way you will structure, the way you will choose the right elements for your story, the right scene perspective, and the way to move the audience; in his case SWAY THE AUDIENCE. Suchita digs Niren on multiple levels, and you can't miss the humour and get swayed.1) Writing across genres.2) Writing is a thinking process- HOW DO YOU THINK?3) Maslow's hierarchy and the intent of self- actualization!4) The detailed Writing process- which has to be fulfilling.5) The Syd Fields, The Robert Mckees- And the template of screen writing?6) From playwriting to ScriptWriting.7) Advice from Gulzar Saab.8) WRITER'S BLOCK- is fictional!10)First Draft - VOMIT DRAFT to 15- 16th Final Draft.11) SCRIPT LITERACY AND BOUNCING BOARDS- Who are you sharing your scripts with, to read- VERY IMP.12) The rejections, traumas, imposter syndromes.13) Importance of a DREAM PRODUCER-14) Market research/ Algorithms- Analysis is a double edged sword?15) What is it that your producers of Stree 2 and Munjya are DOING RIGHT?16) The analysis of the elements of genre.17) PLS DO NOT ASK FOR SO MANY NARRATIONS AND THEN REJECT C, TRAUMAS, MENTAL HEALTH ISSUESKnowing the INTENT and purpose of what ever work you are doing, will drive it in the right direction- in this case MASLOW'S HIERARCHY OF SELF- ACTUALIZATION ! And, the moment you know this- you will set a clear direction for your life and your values, your purpose- which is all interlinked with the kind of work you want to do!! Great takeaway. A Complicated Passion: The Life and Work of Agnès Varda, is the book by award- winning film critic Carrie Rickey. Rickey traces Varda's three remarkable careers—as still photographer, as filmmaker, and as installation artist. She explains how Varda was a pioneer in blurring the lines between documentary and fiction, using the latest digital technology and carving a path for women in the movie industry. She demonstrates how Varda was years ahead of her time in addressing sexism, abortion, labor exploitation, immigrant rights, and race relations with candor and incisiveness. She makes clear Varda's impact on contemporary figures like Ava DuVernay, Greta Gerwig, Barry Jenkins, the Safdie brothers, and Martin Scorsese, who called her one of the Gods of cinema. And she delves into Varda's incredibly rich social life with figures such as Harrison Ford, Jean-Luc Godard, Jim Morrison, Susan Sontag, and Andy Warhol, and her nearly forty-year marriage to the celebrated director Jacques Demy.Suchita talks to Carrie about this most important book on Agnes Varda who defined the French New Wave, inspired an entire generation of filmmakers, and was recognized with major awards at the Cannes, Berlin, and Venice Film Festivals, as well as an honorary Oscar at the Academy Awards.Digs:1) Varda and her relationships with other Artists. She got to the essence very fast. Her ability to connect with people as a photographer and storyteller was immemse.2) Transforming from still image to moving pictures to 3 dimensional spaces- almost like a 3 Act of life!!3) The approach as a filmmaker that was so distinct from her director husband Demy. Her approach was to discover deeper aspects of things.4) Varda started making movies without knowing anything about movies- without having even have watched many films- and so she found her own language, her own grammar.5) Opening up to arts, creativity and filmmaking to create a new syntax.6) Truffaut's non acceptance of Varda as a director and his reviews in Cahiers du cinema.7) A very imporant difference between the French and the American studios financing movies-8) How photography taught her to capture the decisive moment!9) 1958 when her film got into the Cannes festival was she accepted into the community of french filmmakers and new wave filmmakers?10) The long marriage to another brilliant filmmaker Demy 11) Varda's relationship with Jim Morrison and his death- and how his funeral was for less than 8 minutes!12) Varda with Warhol, Susan Sontag, Truffaut. 13) Scorses's immense admiration for Varda.Enjoy this longish episode, and check out the book that is out now !!Join our Artists insta handle the.artistspodcast Email id: metaphysicallab@gmail.com/ You can follow us and leave us feedback on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter @eplogmedia, For partnerships/queries send you can send us an email at bonjour@eplog.media DISCLAIMER: The views expressed on all the shows produced and distributed by Ep.Log Media are personal to the host and the guest of the shows respectively and with no intention to harm the sentiments of any individual/organization.The said content is not obscene or blasphemous or defamatory of any event and/or person deceased or alive or in contempt of court or breach of contract or breach of privilege, or in violation of any provisions of the statute, nor hurt the sentiments of any religious groups/ person/government/non-government authorities and/or breach or be against any declared public policy of any nation or state.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Do you know that your brain works in different frequencies through out the day- from the time you get up to the time you fall asleep, and while you are sleeping!; these frequencies are defined as beta, alpha, theta, gamma, delta. It is being researched and proven that the slower your brain wave frequency, the better your mental and physical health. It is also being researched that slower brain wave frequency, gives you access to your subconscious mind- and it is being proven that our life, our decisions, our behaviour - in-fact, who we are, 95 percent of it, is controlled by our subconscious mind and 5 percent by our conscious mind. So, whats the big deal here? The big deal is that, we do-not know, that 95 percent of the time, we take decisions that are controlled by our subconscious programming. And, if we access our subconscious mind and re- programme it according to the WE that we want to become, or the life that we want to create, we will be able to manifest and fulfil the life, we exactly want to live. So, again how do we do this? By being able to control our brain waves and access our subconscious mind more frequently and reprogram it. Mediations are a way to do it. And, since i have been digging into this bit for quite sometime- i mystically came across this book- change your brain waves by Scholars and researchers Yukio and Susanne who explain this phenomenon through the practise of chantings. One of the most important thing in any film, and more so in a regional or an independent films is the camaraderie between the director and the DOP, where the two have to work together to not just design the film effectively, but also to deliver the film within a time span- to shoot the film in those number of days. The most effective camaraderie is a good friendship. Our guests are Darshan Trivedi, the director, and Tapan Vyas the DOP, on to their 5th film together, that is releasing on Jan 19th.Also, a great point that we should always get reminded of- it is a great joy to work with people who understand the purpose of cinema. It is greater joy and good fortune if your film gets to the theatres. Some key take aways is: Filmmaking especially for a director takes so much energy that it affects all area of their life, personal professional and- so be mindful when choosing to take this as a profession. Be very mindful in collaborating with people, and choose only the ones who have a true passion for cinema and are not there just for money or fame or other extracurricular activities that they think is glamour. This episode is a part of Artists n mental health series. These episodes we cross-pollinate between our mental health podcast THE SOS SHOW and THE ARTISTS. The last episode we did was with actor Rajeev Khandelwal- chk that out if you haven't yet. Our guest for todays episode is peace activist Azim Khamisa who started the Forgiveness movement that has now reached millions of people. This movement is important for all of us, especially the vulnerable community of Artists because we live in a cut throat competitive world and there are many a times that other people rub badly on us or vice versa and we are unable to forgive. May this episode give us the wisdom to look deeper into our lives and on more profound values- forgiveness can be a great value that will ease our movement in this rickety path. In the year 1995, Azim Khamisa's 20 year old son had just got engaged. Next day, as he was doing his part time job of delivering pizza, a group of boys surrounded him and a 14 year old boy murdered him in cold blood. In 2023 Azim Khamisa runs a peace foundation with that 14 year old Juvenile boy who he also fought for to get him out of prison by forgiving him the murder of his only son. Azim Khamisa founded the Tariq Khamisa Foundation (TKF.org), which started a subsequent forgiveness movement that has reached millions globally. He has received over 80 local, national and international awards. www.AzimKhamisa.comIn this podcast Episode, Suchita digs through this heart melting story of what can an act of forgiveness do to your and other lives. What about the daily acts of forgiveness that we have to do in personal and professional relationships, to strangers, to our own selves. In this podcast, I talk to Hansa Melwani and Suchita Kothari of something holistic on Modern Ayurveda for Skin and Beauty. Ayurveda is the traditional Hindu system of medicine (incorporated in Atharva Veda, the last of the four Vedas), which is based on the idea of balance in bodily systems and uses diet, herbal treatment, and yogic breathing. My favourite thing about the Ayurveda these gorgeous ladies teach and practice is that it works with a global lifestyle and is easy to incorporate into our everyday lives.

Welcome to LBB Open House - a podcast on how to build brands better. My name is Suchita. And I'm the co-founder of Little Black Book (www.lbb.in). We'll be taking a deep dive into all things brand building - marketing, customer acquisition, distribution, and more; through candid conversations with founders, CXOs, and investors behind India's most interesting enterprises. From fashion to alco-bev, software to greek yogurt, you will get to hear from people who've built multi-million dollar brands across industries. I am privileged to have access to some of the best in the game and I bring them on the show to ask them the questions that keep many young entrepreneurs such as myself or young business leaders up at night. How to best set up your sales team? What is the future of marketing? Can distribution be the moat around your business? I have learnt so much from my guests through my conversations. And I hope you do too. Oh and before I forget, these episodes are recorded as live webinars, so if you want to watch me have these conversations live and ask my guests any questions, please log on to the LBB app or go to our website www.lbb.in
