Back when we reviewed "Throb" last year, Greg and Chico were reminded of this movie a pre-Fast and the Furious Paul Walker did back in 1998. Two loser surf brothers from Hawaii are sent by their father to Yellowstone, where they are mistaken for park rangers and have to do battle with a paranoid Dennis Hopper doing weird Dennis Hopper things. We probably think this is the first time in Disney+ history that more than one person watched this movie at one time.

We are back after many weeks without a proper internet connection, which made it impossible to prepare new editions of Sequences. After spending time in several Airbnbs, I'm finally in rented accommodation which has a decent speed on Sky Full Fibre 150 broadband. In the past month, we have gathered a lot of new music to feature on our podcasts. We decided to offer you two editions: No 259 focusing on sequential, symphonic, modular, and Berlin School music and the other No 260 exploring dark and light ambient, cosmic, chill-out, and experimental genres. This week on It Was a Thing on TV First, the late 80s was an era where the syndicated sitcom ruled the airwaves, primarily on FOX and independent affiliates, also primarily on the weekends. One such show starred podcast favorite Diana Canova, a single mother who worked at a record label. Despite being on the air for two seasons, very little of this show exists online. Maybe viewers didn't have the heart to record and retain Throb? Then, for Halloween we went back to a very short-lived show to commemmorate the event. Even nowadays, there have been shows where ghosts inhabit a house but can only be seen by select individuals. NBC tried this in 1989 with Eric Idle. Within a month, Nearly Departed was wholly departed from the network. An eclectic mix of 45s awaits us as we explore the Australian artist chart hits that entered the National Chart in August of 1966. From the down-and-dirty Blues of The Throb and The Purple Hearts, the frantic energy of The Loved Ones, to the style and grace of Judy Stone. In addition, we hear from The Last Straws, and a certain medical student who started a record label, before opening a chain of medical centres adorned with grand pianos! And much much more!

We are back for Part 5 of our Kyoto Vacation, “Kyoto Animation's Splendid Isolation,” and today we return to the wacky world of Love, Chuunibyo, and Other Delusions for its second season, Heart Throb! This second batch of episodes sees Rikka and Yuta struggling with what it means to be a couple when another chuunibyo friend from Yuta's past enters the picture, and while both Sean and Jonathan agree it's an extremely funny, well-directed set of episodes with plenty of laughs and memorable moments, there's a bit of a divide between how effective we think the core plotline is, with Jonathan loving it all the way through and Sean finding it lacking. For a semifinal challenge with Humungous in the title, we thought this week's floorshow might have been…bigger. But perhaps that's been a running theme all season. Orkgotik continues to turn trash into treasure, Throb gives horny gremlin, Nio has a bellybutton, Blackberri floats like a butterfly but doesn't quite sting like a bee and Fantasia's bug with boobs gets exterminated. To be honest we're ready for a two break breakula from the season before they reunite to hash it out all out at next month's Last Supper. Want even more Alright Mary? It's time to bring out the black lights because this week's theme is something like 80's funhouse neon darkroom nightmare demon—oh and also make it two in one looks. Throb is back to playing Boulet's Best Friend Race with Nio, and Orkgotik is worried they're kissing. Meanwhile, Blackberri glows like an Egyptian, Cynthia goes full club kid and Fantasia barely wriggles out of the bottom. Nio strong arms her way to another win and we say goodbye to the much beloved narrator of the season in an extermination that was not shocking, literally. Want even more Alright Mary? Set your sonic transducers to stunning because we're headed to the intergalactic backpages for some casual connections that are out of this world. And a little muppety, if that's your thing. This week's sex workers in space floor show was a mixed bag when it came to interpreting the prompt, but it's JayKay who is most feeling the gravity of the situation as Throb vows to send them to Uranus because Jarvis lost a lip sync a couple weeks ago. We manage to also use up some oxygen on male orgasms, Mary Higgins Clark, Meet the Feebles and the treacherous black hole that is the Dragula subreddit. Want even more Alright Mary? It's the battle of the bands this week! While Chaotik is horns above Devil's 4 Play when it comes to banding together, Blackberri drums up some deserved praise for making the most of being, daresay, a background singer. “Gods of Death” sends us down a late 90s/early 2000s rock rabbit hole, but we also talk about organic peanut butter and class trips for a little bit, so there's something for everyone. Cynthia goes full Baddie Mom, Throb wears sunglasses inside, JayKay has Disney voice, Fantasia brings out a second bucket hat, Orkgotik wears that ROBE, Nio is no guitar hero and in a shock to no one, Anna Phylactic is branded and disbanded. We're checking into the spookiest Marriott you've ever seen for this week's haunted hotel floorshow! Throb takes it to the penthouse suite, but is bested by JayKay's sentient bar cart. Nio nearly says “I do” to a second win, despite some cold feet in the Lab, Anna misses her shot but hits our bullseyes, Fantasia and Jarvis get notes and Satanna briefly quits before three of them lay on some cots while rats give them tickles. Things get gross for this week's filth-focused floor show. To the surprise of no one who watched the trailer, JayKay comes back just in time to chug sludge and win the opportunity to force Cynthia to do her makeup in a dirty Port-a-Potty. Speaking of which, we have a lot to say about Cynthia, from her bad mom vibes to her meth mom presentation. There's something off about Onyx's critiques, we kind of loved Anna's bananas reveal and can agree that Throb was two scoops above the rest when it came to creating a Trash Can Kid.
