Send us a Text Message.Coheed and Cambria is a progressive rock band originating from Nyack, New York, known for their unique blend of intricate instrumentation, fantastical storytelling, and dynamic vocal performances. Formed in 1995, the band consists of Claudio Sanchez (vocals, guitar), Travis Stever (guitar), Josh Eppard (drums), and Zach Cooper (bass). At the core of Coheed and Cambria's discography lies "The Amory Wars," a science fiction saga created by frontman Claudio Sanchez, which serves as the conceptual basis for much of their music. The narrative follows the epic journey of characters Coheed and Cambria Kilgannon as they navigate through a universe plagued by war, betrayal, and cosmic forces. Each album released by the band corresponds to a chapter in this overarching story, creating a cohesive and immersive experience for listeners.Musically, Coheed and Cambria's sound is characterized by intricate guitar riffs, soaring vocal melodies, and complex rhythmic patterns. Drawing inspiration from progressive rock, punk, metal, and alternative rock, their music seamlessly blends together elements of various genres to create a distinctive sonic landscape. Sanchez's powerful vocals, often compared to Geddy Lee of Rush, are complemented by Stever's and Cooper's dynamic guitar work and Eppard's precise drumming, resulting in a sound that is both grandiose and emotionally resonant. The band's breakout album, "The Second Stage Turbine Blade," released in 2002, garnered widespread acclaim for its ambitious storytelling and musical craftsmanship. Subsequent albums such as "In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3" and "Good Apollo, I'm Burning Star IV, Volume One: From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness" further solidified Coheed and Cambria's reputation as one of the most innovative and influential bands in modern rock.Overall, Coheed and Cambria's impact on the music industry extends beyond their innovative approach to rock music; they have created a rich and immersive universe that resonates deeply with fans, solidifying their place as pioneers of modern progressive rock.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------L.S. Dunes, an American supergroup led by Circa Survive, Saosin, and The Sound of Animals Fighting vocalist Anthony Green, alongside My Chemical Romance guitarist Frank Iero, Coheed and Cambria guitarist Travis Stever, bassist Tim Payne, and drummer Tucker Rule from Thursday, burst onto the scene at Riot Fest 2022, marking their debut. Their inaugural album, "Past Lives," dropped on November 11, 2022, introducing singles like "Permanent Rebellion," "2022," and "Bombsquad." Following their UK tour debut in January 2023, they embarked on their first US tour in July. Born during the pandemic, the group initially convened during rehearsals for Thursday's 2020 holiday livestream, initially operating under the moniker "Dad Bods." Despite their individual recordings, the ensemble's lineup remained undisclosed until Rule sent Green the instrumental tracks. The emergence of this post-hardcore/emo ensemble first surfaced with their inclusion on Riot Fest's May 2022 poster. Their Riot Fest debut showcased six tracks from "Past Lives." They followed up with "2022" as their second single, and "Bombsquad" as their third, both unveiling during www.betterhelp.com/TheBarnhttp://www.betterhelp.com/TheBarn www.BetterHelp.com/TheBarnhttp://www.betterhelp.com/TheBarn http://www.betterhelp.com/TheBarnThis episode is sponsored by www.betterhelp.com/TheBarn and presented to you by The Barn Media Group.

Hello everyone, welcome to the Drum Channel Podcast! I'm Billy Amendola and my guest is Tucker Rule. You may know Tucker from the hard-rock-emo-band Thursday, formed in 1997 in New Jersey. The band has been considered an influence on the music scene in the 2000s, and is credited as forerunners of the emo/screaming vocal sound. But, that was then and this is now and Tucker's new project L.S. Dunes is a mix of a who's who of friends from popular bands. L.S. Dunes debut album, Past Lives was released in November 2022, has generated three singles. Also, joining Tucker is his bass-player Tim Payne from Thursday. So, trust me when I say “the rhythm section is solid.” We talk about the new album, gear, touring, what's next and more. Let's listen in and welcome Tucker Rule to Drum Channel.

Join Tucker and I as we talk about AZ, where Tucker was on tour that day, our experiences visiting the state, and how it along with other pockets of the US are starting to become hot beds for great shows, and if that's due to better promoters who want more for their scene, or bands/fans finally coming together to support live music in their area? We also talk about 20+ years of Thursday's career, memories surrounding the release of War All The Time, the impact that had on the scene as well as the youth facing the uncertainty of adulthood after 9/11. We also touch on Tucker finding himself once Thursday had disbanded, what it's been like since the band reunited. Tucker talks about his new project, LS Dunes, how that started, expanding on friendships he'd had with everyone else to now being bandmates. The importance of trusting your gut and not overthinking things and more in this chat with the Thursday percussionist. In our 92nd episode, we're joined by Tucker Rule, Drummer and founding member of Thursday. What happens when one of the most important and influential albums of the last few decades turns 20? You invite the Drummer of the band on the podcast to talk about it— and we did just that. We talk Tucker's start with music, the early days of Thursday, their eventual signing, and a deep dive into ‘Full Collapse.' We also talk Thursday's return to the live stage — as they set to hit the road in the near future. This was a special one for us, as it gives a behind the scenes look into the creation of an album that set the tone for the next decade. (Timestamps: (0:00) Podcast and guest intro. Big Fat Five: A Podcast Financially Supported by Big Fat Snare Drum
We've got Tucker Rule, drummer for Thursday, on this week's episode of the ‘Big Fat Five' pod breaking down the top 5 drumming moments that shaped his playing style…and it's a damn fun playing style. Not only is Tucker a rhythmic powerhouse, he's quite possibly the nicest guy in the world (sorry to ‘out' you Tucker). We had a really fun conversation that went well beyond his influences including lessons learned from working with Dave Elitch, perspectives on practicing, and how each of us deal with the frustrations, yet needed patience, of always wanted to become better players. This episode is also sponsored by Waves Audio. This podcast would take me soooo much longer to edit if it wasn't for the Waves Vocal Rider plugin. It "rides" the fader in real-time and keeps both my and my guest's audio at a consistent level without the need to overcompress. I also use an endless of amount of their plugins for my musical recordings such as Abbey Road Saturator, CLA Drums, the SSL Channel, and many more. Tucker Rule is most well-known for being the drummer of post-hardcore band Thursday but stays busy playing for a host of folks including The Wanted, Frank Iero, and My Chemical Romance. You can hire Tucker to play on your record through SoundBetter.com and you'll be happy you did! This was the first time speaking with hm and we had a great time talking a lot of random crap. I hope you enjoy this as much as I did. If you are able and feel inclined please help support Couch Riffs podcast and covers videos at Patreon! Tucker Rule has been in the game for a minute. A hardcore kid from New Jersey who discovered underground music via skateboarding, he formed the band Thursday with his friends in order to open shows in a basement (it should be noted that these shows were headlined by bands like Saves The Day, At The Drive-In and Hot Water Music). DIY touring led to a surprise hit on MTV and the band blew up, only to get lost in the kind of major label shuffle familiar to anyone who’s followed punk rock since the 90s. Thursday went on indefinite hiatus in 2011; he toured with UK boy band The Wanted and filled in with acts like My Chemical Romance and Yellowcard. Thursday’s been back at it recently. He’s also a new dad. Tune in to hear all about it. More info at learndrums.ca

I really really really really wanted to get Ja Rule on the show to talk about his work with Swizz Beats and Metallica, but ended up with his brother Tucker. Most of you know Tucker as the drummer for Thursday, or maybe from his work with Frank Iero and the Future Violents... But now you will have the opportunity to know him on a deeper level. Don't just listen to what he says here... feel it. I know I did! You can and should check out his bands, and be sure to keep up with all things Tucker on his instagram page, which is @tuckerrule We talked about his journey as a punk drummer playing basement shows to session player extraordinaire, sitting in with Seth Meyer's band amongst many other killer gigs. Lots of nerdy deep dives in this conversation up on the Rigs of Dad Patreon Page. Be sure to subscribe if you want early access to all episodes like this one and more, much much more. Stay true. Believe. One Love.
As if it wasn’t apparent, Tucker Rule plays with passion. In fact, it’s that passion and visceral reaction to Punk music that inspired him to play drums in the first place. From the beginning, Tucker knew he wanted to be a part of the Punk scene and that desire lead to the forming of his […] The post 556 – Tucker Rule: On Punk & Passion appeared first on Drummer's Resource: Conversations with the world's greatest drummers and music industry pros..
For 20 years, Tucker Rule's crisp, authoritative drumming has laid the foundation for the band Thursday. Tucker discusses: his childhood obsession with baseball; recording and touring shortly after learning to play; working with a boy band after Thursday went on hiatus; and why planking is an essential part of his daily workout routine.
Let's take a closer look at a band that is truly one of the founding father bands of post hardcore and emo music: Thursday. Their guitar tones and vocals were very dynamic, ranging from brutal and heavy to soft and melodic. Jazzy & rock and roll drums, amazing lyrics, an honest approach to songwriting, and so much more. Together, let's pay tribute to the black dove. - - - - - - - - - - - Spotify Playlist https://open.spotify.com/user/marcorandazzo/playlist/6ZLzX9jrLbT0oltOKCXDeE?si=NlQfPHOjTWe3kIMRdkCt7w Special thanks to my guest Chris Swinney.
