In this thought-provoking episode of The Black Lotus Podcast, Josiah sat down with Deanrea Sykes Jr, a recent Howard University alumnus who studied Philosophy and African American Studies. As an aspiring academic, Deanrea's research centers around Africana Philosophy and Afro-pessimism, delving into the intersection of race, social/political philosophy, and the lived experiences of the Black community. In the fall, Deanrae will be attending Emory University to obtain his Doctorate in the discipline of Philosophy. Throughout our conversation, we explored a wide range of captivating topics, from continental philosophy and the dehumanization of the Black race to the impact of social media on how Black death is perceived along with how integration affected the Black Community as a whole. We also delved into the complex dynamics between HBCUs and PWIs, discussing the contrasting approaches to navigating White society and the unique strengths each educational environment offers. Deanrea shared profound insights on Black male mass incarceration, reproductive rights, and the significance of understanding Afro-Pessimism in our society. We touched on the enduring consequences of historical acts like the 1956 Highway Commission Act and the repercussions faced by Black teachers after the Brown v. Board decision in 1954. The conversation didn't shy away from addressing pressing contemporary issues, such as Kamala Harris becoming Vice-President and its impact on the Black community. This was a fun, wide-ranging, and informative episode and you guys are in for a treat with this one. All the continued support is much appreciated. What the Black Woman must understand is that many of the roles and customs we view as "popular" or "self made" were actually hand selected and pre determined for the Black Woman to conduct herself in a harmful manner that not only destroys herself, future offspring and brings destruction to the Black race in general. As long as the Black Woman remains consciously dead, then she also remains spiritually void(empty.) An empty vessel that can be filled with any fad or ill-fashion(exploited) while still performing physically with her body. Therefore she can then be told that she is anything- anything but her true self! If Black people have any chance left at surviving- it will have to be done through the womb of a conscious mined Black Woman. Website: thetruthwithtrinity.com

Throughout slavery, it was a method of torture and punishment; for one Black Man to whip, tar feather, or kill another Black Man for no reason at all. If he refused to do so then his life would end. As Black Men- how much of those practices have traveled down your bloodline? Why does the Black Man feel a need to kill his own brethren with such intensity? If Black Men refuse to find value in the lives of other Black Men; how will they truly ever, inside the lives of their own women and children? The biggest distraction for Black Men( in achieving a higher form of self) is hatred and self division. Which in retrospect, keeps the Black Man blind- and constantly walking down a path of darkness. When will Black Men start to benefit their own society? Why does the Black Man continue to view other Black Men as the enemy? When his fellow brother is all he truly has. After watching Judas and the Black Messiah I felt compelled to talk about how America seems to view black society. We are so much better off than in the '60s and '70s, yet we are still being oppressed by those in power. I was amazed to see the amount of pressure the FBI applied on Fred Hampton. We are still being labeled as terrorists and anti-American. We have to figure out how to survive while changing the world. Maybe you will or you won't see the problem. Watch the movie and tell me black society is valued or safe in America.

In the inaugural episode of season two, hosts Kimberlee and Whitney take the opportunity to celebrate and uplift Black Women in all sectors of society. Since the beginning of time, African American women have played an important role in family, business and political activism to advance both gender and race. At times it seems they are overlooked and not rewarded for their contribution nor celebrated for their success. In todays climate, when the world seems upside down, we would like to change that perception and take time to "Celebrate Women of the Culture".

Steve and Jim discuss the impeachment process (prepare for a civics lesson and see correction below). We also talk about Trump proposing a fireside chat to "clear up" the Ukraine situation (warning, we get a bit off the tracks here). We then go on to talk about the Katie Hill resignation and the Fair Play Bill being signed into law on LeBron James' show The Shop and the role of Barber Shops in Black Society. https://www.bittermedicineblogs.com – On today’s show we discuss how Blacks globally need to put more effort into STEM field representation. STEM stands for Science Technology Engineering & Mathematics. The STEM field is responsible for over half of the growth of the U.S. economy since WW2. By becoming more STEM centered, we can boost the economics of the Black community in similar ways by creating jobs with higher than average salaries; lower black unemployment rates by creating quality support jobs that are not in technology; and by creating jobs that are flexible, via the Internet, which would allow us to bridge with similar STEM centered economies in Africa. Additionally, Africa needs to become self-determined as well around this concept of investing in STEM to build economy. There are obstacles. The first obstacle starts with us, as Black people. www.bittermedicineblogs.com - First, thank you all for checking out our previous podcast, the Black Empowerment review of "War for the Planet of the Apes". Much respect for all the views, shares, likes and comments. We really appreciate that. Today's show is about low energy individuals and their impact on Black society. Every society has low energy individuals, but considering the circumstances we live in: oppression, subjugation etc. within the system of white supremacy, we need to limit such things like low energy individuals. We each need to be more motivational, inspirational, assertive, fun, exciting, and charismatic so as to improve our relationships, friendships, dating experiences, and business endeavors. When we strengthen those things, we are better apt to defeat white supremacy. The bottom line is: lack of excitement and energy keep us from being successful. Yes white supremacy is a heavy weight on our backs, but we can overcome it when we collectively rid ourselves of low energy. Here we present tips on how to reach a higher energy. There are so many shades of color when it comes to our people. But these beautiful colors can have some not so pretty stereotypes attached. You know back in the day the light/dark issue was rooted in slavery. The dark skinned slaves were field workers and the light skinned ones where house workers. Throughout the history of this country there has been an internal struggle amongst people of color that is almost as bad as the way some white people treated us. You ever heard someone say "you black ass such and such" to a dark skinned person? Um...you are black too right? Ever hear someone say "she/he think she all that cause they light skinned"? Crazy but it still happens. So what are some sterotypes that you feel are attached to the different shades? Do you trust a fair skinned black person more than a dark skinned one? Which one do you find more attractive? Do you prefer a certain shade over the others, and if so, WHY!? Is one shade completely out of the question as far as romance is concerned, and if so WHY!? Is one better in bed than the other or is that just stupid? You would be surprised what some people will say bout that! Do you think there is an ongoing "issue" between light and dark skinned black people that just kinda goes unmentioned? Well I do and I can prove it exist. Do you ever feel mistreated because you are a certain complexion? What about growing up as a kid? Did the black kids with nappy hair get treated different from the light skinned kid with straight hair? There was a study done with some kids and they were asked to identify the "pretty" and "smart" kids by picture. And overwhelmingly the fair skinned children won. Sad but true, because the kids asked to do the study were black! So we will ask the callers about this color war with in our own race. PS...I'm Brown so I guess I'm neutral! LOL! IJs!
