Tommy Edwards is a retired American public address announcer for the Chicago Bulls of the National Basketball Association. Edwards was the arena voice for the Bulls at Chicago Stadium from 1976-1990.[1] During his first tenure with the team, Edwards is credited with originating the Bulls' famous signature style of introducing the starting lineups with "And now..."[1] Edwards was also the first stadium announcer to play Gary Glitter's Rock and Roll (which became one of America's most popular sports anthems).[1] In 2006, Edwards returned to the Bulls, replacing Steve Scott as the United Center arena voice. Tommy Edwards was also a DJ and program director at several Chicago area radio stations, including WLS, WCFL and WKQX. He was part of the famous "Animal Stories" (as Little "Snot-Nosed" Tommy) with Larry Lujack on WLS and WRLL. Edwards programmed WODS in Boston from 1990 to 1992, then moved to KCBS-FM in Los Angeles, where he created the "Arrow" (All Rock & Roll Oldies) format. He most recently worked at 104.3 K-Hits, an oldies station broadcasting out of Chicago.[2] Edwards retired from radio on September 12, 2014, after a 54-year career.[3][4] Edwards was born in Topeka, Kansas and lives in Lake Forest, Illinois. He began in radio at KTOP in Topeka and worked at WEAM in Washington DC and WOR-FM in New York City before moving to Chicago. Tommy announced that the Chicago Bulls game against the Houston Rockets on November 9, 2019 would be his last as a PA announcer. He retired and moved to the West Coast to be closer to his children.

National Polygamy Advocate ™ Mark Henkel was interviewed on The Mancow Show, the nationally syndicated show hosted by Erich "Mancow" Muller of Q-101 WKQX in Chicago, Illinois, on March 15, 2006. Days before, the never-done-before premiere of a new polygamy-topic TV series on HBO called, "Big Love," aired. This recording begins with the pre-interview to reveal the difference from how the show was described versus the sophomoric silliness that occurred on the actual show. At one point, Mancow went off into the silliness of shouting "How many wives?" 17 times in a row. Later, one of the side co-hosts proclaimed the hilarious (in its context) line, "I'm not an individual, I'm black!" and then proceeded to interrupt the rest of the interview. The host, Mancow himself, however, said, "I want to talk to the guy." Nevertheless, Mark Henkel's arguments were successfully persuasive. Before we started the podcast, we did a walking tour of the sorts of things Seafood City sells. Need a package of blood? How about bile? Mere hours after colleague Sherman (101 WKQX) posted a video of the Goodman Theatre sign in flames that went viral, he sat shotgun for Car Con Carne. Welcome to a truly behind-the-scenes episode. Car Con Carne is shooting a TV pilot this summer; a for-real, I'm-not-kidding, television show, produced by some of the most talented TV people in Chicago. Before that happens, there are a lot of audio, video and content questions that need to be figured out. To address those, we held a pilot "rehearsal" today at the original BRGRBELLY (Portage Park, 5739 W. Irving Park Road). 101 WKQX midday host Lauren O'Neil was gracious enough to be my guest for the rehearsal. She was a trouper, totally game to hang out as the tireless film crew and team at BRGRBELLY worked through several interior and exterior shots. Once that camerawork was done, Lauren and I retreated to my car for food and conversation. You know, typical Car Con Carne stuff. Because this was a rehearsal, you may notice some audio issues (overmodulating microphones, for instance). Any issues you hear are part of today's learnings, and will help the production team make the pilot as good as it can be. Featured in this episode: -Will the Dashboard Jesus bless the TV rehearsal? -Lauren's choice of burger means she ingested roughly 5000 less calories than me. -Lauren seems to think six napkins is plenty, leaving me to ask, "How dainty of an eater do you think I am?" -We learn that one should never mess with Lauren when she's hangry. -The importance of the local music scenes in Chicago and Gainesville is discussed. -I question whether Lauren's the only person working at 101 WKQX. -Lauren will totally get me a job in her pizza place. -Lauren has eaten gator. It tastes like chicken.
