A new study suggests a saliva test as an accurate first step in diagnosing celiac disease. Spanish researchers proposed a saliva test as an accurate first step in the diagnosis of celiac disease. Still being investigated, the authors say it could potentially reduce unnecessary biopsies because it is so good at predicting who has celiac disease. Overall, the test was able to correctly classify 73% of individuals with Celiac.Read the full study here: https://www.cmghjournal.org/article/S2352-345X(21)00110-7/fulltext#back-bib5 See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

(CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR THE HARRY STRANGE RADIO DRAMA) You asked, and we are ready to deliver. 'Tales from the Strangeverse' is a spin-off of Harry Strange set in the same universe, 18 years later, and follows the story of Harry's daughter (played by Andrea Laing) discovering who she is while, reluctantly, picking up on the family business. Expect to hear more about this project in 2022. But the video says 2021? Yes, it does. 'From the Journal of Elizabeth Shaw' (FTJOES) is the transition story from the Harry Strange Radio Drama to Tales. FTJOES takes place 2 years after (spoilers) events (cough… Mr. K… cough) stranded Harry and Elizabeth on Kolbeinsey Island. (Continued at Harry Strange...)

What's the deal with Lion's Gate? Super simply put - The Lion's Gate is the cosmic moment in the year when a whole bunch of new resources and energy start flowing to us, and if we open ourselves up to receive it - and activate it - we are able to reassess our value and be carried on an elevated wave of richness, bravery, and some groovy creative avenues. YES PLEASE. Lion's Gate is a portal that we began to work with upon entering into the Age of Aquarius officially in 2012. By working with the Sun star Sirius and Leo Season (which opposes Aquarius), it provides certain coding that is helpful in the ways you can rise up from the old ways of doing things and help yourself -and the world- transition into the New Earth. This year, it falls under a New Moon in Leo (talk about sacred wild alignment) - urging you to rise on up. And while abundance isn't always a flip of a switch - we must acknowledge the systems, conditioning and limitations that trapped us from believing we could be free and taken care of.... this date provides us such a moment to unpack what isn't working and leaning into what could be. The world + the universe are constantly flowing through big, juicy vibrations. And sometimes, when certain energies align, pulsating frequencies create specific portals. We can use these openings to upgrade, release and shift our perception. And, well, it's LEO season. Leo invites us to shine bright + proudly display our hearts into the spotlight. Especially in the year of 2021 when we need it the most and continue to embrace the next tier of the Aquarian Age. Listen on as Danielle dives even deeper into this celestial phenomena. We're talking “clean-eating” and “southern cuisine” today. Does it seem like these two phrases shouldn't be spoken together? Think again! At Flipping50 we're all about variety, flavor and ditching deprivation. If you're busy looking for what you can have it's so easy and do delicious to feel good you're not missing a thing. If what you eat has needed a shift in menopause - or sooner - you're going to love this. My Guest: Amanda Gipson Nowosadzki is the author of the Clean Southern Cuisine cookbook and founder of the Clean Southern Cuisine blog. She delights in helping others to improve their health through scrumptious Southern recipes that are healthier and free of gluten. Amanda hails from “Cajun Country” in South Louisiana. Much of her childhood was spent learning to cook traditional family recipes. That, coupled with later working in the catering industry in New Orleans, ignited her love affair with food, especially Southern cuisine. When work took her out of the South, she constantly craved the flavors and food from home. Later it became necessary for her to make dietary changes to combat ongoing health issues... so she combined her love for Cajun, Creole, and Southern food with her desire for more nutrient-dense and gluten-free fare. Clean Southern Cuisine was born. Amanda's dual-mission: 1. To provide variety to those who already practice a clean eating lifestyle. 2. To help others to open their eyes to what they are putting in their bodies and how it makes them feel... Yes, even those who have what she calls a healthy dose of skepticism against healthy Southern food. Love the idea of clean eating that is anything but boring? Then let's dive into this episode (and a bowl of gumbo, please)! Questions we dive into: What inspired you to write the book/start eating this way? Have you found relief eating this way? Southern food and health food don't naturally go together… explain yourself, girlfriend! How hard was that? Have you found criticism from tried and true Southerners.. and or healthy clean eaters alike? You haven't gone 100% Paleo, Keto, or AIP in the book – why not? What does cooking and food prep mean to you in terms of importance to health? Connect with Amanda: www.cleansoutherncuisine.com/gift Website: www.cleansoutherncuisine.com Instagram: @cleansouthern Facebook: @cleansouthern Questions on how to follow clean eating? Or wonder how to exchange ingredients in recipes you love and make them clean eating with flavor? Add to comments and we'll find out for you!

A Bloodbath? Naked synchronized swimming? The mysterious disappearance of Paul Scheer? The best chainsaw? Sam's uncontrollable laughter? This movie has it all. Why are you reading and not watching it right now!?!?
For years, at ProPublica, Marshall Allen has been exposing health care grifters. (He's our kind of guy.) Now, he's written a book … about how to fight back. It's called “Never Pay the First Bill.” We talked—about some of his best tips, about how you can't win ‘em all, and about why it's worth learning all you can and giving it your best shot.Marshall compares the U.S. health-care "system" to the bully he faced in 7th grade. Big, stupid, mean. And SOMETIMES—as he learned in junior high--you can stand up to 'em, and not get stomped. Worth. Your. Best. Shot.Marshall is a kindred spirit—we talked to him for stories in 2019 and 2020— and the conversation is a whole vibe. He shares some “magic words” that are worth memorizing or writing down somewhere. Here's one you can copy and paste, for if you ever end up in the ER. There'll be a form they want you to sign, that says you'll pay WHATEVER insurance doesn't cover. If you can, X that out, and write in this instead:I consent to appropriate treatment and (including applicable insurance payments) to be responsible for reasonable charges up to two times the Medicare rate.(Why Medicare? Listen in for the details.)Here's a transcript for this episode. Both Lucas and Steve have done various TV projects including work for Adult Swim. Danny Parkins and Matt Spiegel opened their show by reacting to the news that MLB pitchers will be suspended for 10 games if they use foreign substances on the ball. But here's the kicker -- they're still going to get paid. What? Also, what's more likely, a spike in offense or a complete lack of control from pitchers as MLB institutes a crackdown on foreign substances in the middle of the season? Speedy Ortiz started off as a solo project for musician, songwriter, and poet Sadie Dupuis that quickly grew into a full band experience. Over the past several years Sadie has been experimenting with a new solo project under her own moniker of Sad13. Her latest album Haunted Painting is a loud danceable indie-pop gem that is as personal as it is relatable. Michael DeForge is a celebrated comic book artist from Toronto, Ontario, with a treasure trove of original books to his name and artwork that has been featured in The New York Times, The Believer, Bloomberg, and he's worked as a designer on Adventure Time for six seasons too. Michael and Sadie recount the projects they've collaborated on over the years, their creative processes for songwriting and art-making, the joys of procrastination, the fight for artists' rights, and the story behind the art for Sadie's latest album (with cover painting by Sadie's mom).
