WHO KNEW BAGELS COULD CREATE SUCH A KERFUFFLE This past week I found out there was a little deli in Parker that was shipping in bagels made in New York for sale. No, I don’t eat many bagels, but living in Douglas County I can tell you it’s a real bagel wasteland. There are bagels to be found, but none of them compare to a real New York bagel. So when I saw online that I could get a real New York bagel at The Grecian Grazer, I headed over to check things out. Indeed, they have REAL bagels! In the course of chatting with Sean, the owner, we were discussing how a competing bagel shop seemed to respond, by sending people in to make crazy claims and write bad reviews online. I hate stuff like this. That’s why Sean is joining me today to chat about the cutthroat world of bagels at 2:30. If you’re in Parker, go get a sandwich or a bagel from Sean, he’s a great guy.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

As is well-known, the brilliant Dutch Sephardic Jewish philosopher, Baruch Spinoza, began his closely-argued book Ethics, written in the style of geometrical demonstrations, with the first, most fundamental question, "Why are there bagels, rather than not?" We don't explore that question in this sketch.

OEA Locals can amplify the impact of their members' dues dollars through OEA grant programs - especially now, with the new Local Capacity Grants that are available just for completing a Local Capacity Toolkit assessment. The Tallmadge Teachers Association let the needs identified in that self-assessment drive their decisions not only to create a political action committee for their local, but also to create Action Plans to address needs in several other areas. Those Action Plans allowed them to access more Local Capacity Grant funding to support those new projects.
