Everyone is wrong according to Miss Emma. What is often referred to as a retro bike, is in fact a nostalgia bike. In some cases, it might be a vintage, or a modern retro, or even a modern retro vintage. So what is the difference? And what category do "retro" bikes really belong in? Sit back and listen to the Misfits get into the minutiae of it. And while we are in it, let's just hop into another debatable topic. What is the official color of each brand of bike? Some are very clear and mutually agreed upon, and others seem to vary based on the era you remember fondly. We also talk a little bit more about AMA Vintage Motorcycle Days (or is it retro?) and read listener emails. BREAK: INGLES 7 STORY 1: New bagel shop offers a steamed twist near Marietta Square Sully’s Steamers has opened its first metro Atlanta location near Marietta Square, offering steamed bagel sandwiches for breakfast and lunch. Known for their “always steamed, never toasted” approach, the bagels are steamed twice for a tender, melt-in-your-mouth experience. Popular menu items include The Griswold, featuring turkey, bacon, and barbecue sauce, and the Nacho Maximus, topped with nacho cheese Doritos. Co-owned by Sophie Balas and her parents, the family aims to bring this unique concept, originally founded in South Carolina, to the Marietta community. Sully’s is open daily, serving a variety of bagel flavors and creative sandwiches. STORY 2: Marietta kindergartners get first taste of school bus life Marietta’s annual "Ready, Set, Ride" event gave first-time bus riders a practice run before the school year begins. Over 100 students participated, preparing for the return of 8,500 students across 12 campuses, with 5,800 riding buses. Bus driver Cathy Wells decorated her bus with positive messages, calling it an extension of the classroom. She emphasized safety rules, reminding kids to sit properly. Kindergartener Waverly Andrews experienced her first bus ride with excitement, while fifth-grader Giovanna Ricciardi guided her younger brother Nico, ensuring a smooth start to the school year. STORY 3: Fake Romeos used Facebook, Instagram and other platforms in scheme to swindle women Kenneth G. Akpieyi, a Georgia man, was convicted in Louisiana for his role in a $3 million romance scam targeting women online. Using social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram, Akpieyi and others lured victims into fake relationships, later requesting money for fraudulent causes via encrypted apps like WhatsApp. Akpieyi, operating under the alias Phillip Anderson, funneled funds through his company, KGA Autobrokers LLC, to accounts in China and the UAE. He faces up to 40 years in prison and significant fines, with sentencing set for Nov. 5. We have opportunities for sponsors to get great engagement on these shows. Call 770.799.6810 for more info. We’ll be right back. Break: INGLES 7 STORY 4: Keegan’s Irish Pub brings Irish flavor to downtown Acworth Keegan’s Irish Pub has opened its second location on Main Street in Acworth, offering a cozy Irish atmosphere with traditional fare like shepherd’s pie and its bestselling Reuben spring rolls. Owner Pete McCaffery, who also runs a Kennesaw location, emphasizes hands-on management, doing everything from cooking to serving. The pub, adorned with Irish flag colors, has quickly become a local favorite, with patrons praising its authentic vibe, great food, and friendly environment. McCaffery envisions it as a welcoming spot for families and friends to gather, eat, and enjoy soccer. STORY 5: Three Cobb educators named 2025 Teachers of the Year Cobb Superintendent Chris Ragsdale surprised staff at three schools to announce the district’s Teachers of the Year: Caleb Garrett (Compton Elementary), Lakeisha Grange (Betty Gray Middle), and Amanda Dillard (Pope High). Each teacher, selected by colleagues, was praised for their dedication and impact on students. They received a pin, crystal award, and a free one-year car lease, with the district winner earning the car permanently. Garrett, a fourth-year teacher, called it a “full circle moment,” while Grange emphasized building lasting relationships with students. Dillard, a special education teacher, highlighted helping students find their passion. Break: STORY 6: Sewell Mill Library Knit and Stitch meets Aug. 6 Knit and Stitch, a monthly meetup for adults to work on crafts like knitting, crochet, embroidery, or cross-stitch, takes place at 11 a.m. on the first Wednesday of each month at Sewell Mill Library in Marietta. Sheriff Craig Owens continued the tradition, emphasizing it as a community event, not political. Guests enjoyed shrimp, live music, and family activities, with proceeds supporting Owens’ reelection and community programs like backpack drives and holiday donations. Joseph Bell was born Jewish and raised in Conservative Judaism in his hometown of Newton, Massachusetts (a suburb of Boston). At the age of 29, through a friend's loving encouragement, Joe finally relented to read the New Testament. He then recognized how very Jewish the New Testament is. Through a miraculous work of the Lord, Joe asked Yeshua to come into his life. Joe committed his life to Jesus and immediately dove into serving the Lord. Jews for Jesus invited him to study theology with Dr. Louis Goldberg and train as an evangelist; thus Joe began his formal ministry training in New York City — leading over 100 people to faith in Jesus that summer. In 2007 Joe received full ordination as a Jewish Rabbi by IAMCS[International Association of Messianic Congregations and Synagogues]. Joe currently serves as Executive Director of For Zion's Sake Ministries and as Rabbi of Ari Yehudah Messianic Congregation in the town of Bristol, Tennessee/Virginia.

In this engaging episode, Wil B chats with Mark Greenblatt, President of Barry Bagels, and Jim Nussbaum, CEO. They share the remarkable 53-year journey of Barry Bagels, from its founding by Mark's father in 1972 to its expansion to 84 total stores (open or under development) across five states. Mark and Jim delve into the evolution of the brand's identity, its strategic franchising model, and the values-driven leadership that has fostered exceptional employee retention and customer loyalty. The conversation covers everything from bagel baking methods to the principles that make successful franchisees, painting a picture of a company deeply committed to long-term partnerships, fresh food, and a humble, hands-on culture.Legacy of Longevity: Barry Bagels was founded in 1972 by Barry Greenblatt and has thrived for over five decades through a combination of strong values, adaptability, and high-quality food.Franchise Growth: Since starting to franchise in 2012–2014, Barry Bagels has grown to 20 locations with 64 more in development, all driven organically through word-of-mouth, former employees, and brand fans.Multi-Revenue Model: The brand thrives on three primary revenue streams: retail, catering (funerals, corporate, pharmaceutical reps), and wholesale (universities, hospitals, coffee shops).Quality + Freshness: Bagels are boiled and baked fresh all day long, with small batch production ensuring optimal texture and warmth—a differentiator among national competitors.Strategic Expansion: The team uses an “80% concentric, 20% opportunistic” expansion strategy, favoring growth near existing stores but making exceptions for the right franchisee in the right market (e.g., Dallas).Franchisee Fit is Key: Owner-operators are preferred. Candidates must be willing to roll up their sleeves; absentee ownership is discouraged. No Ego Leadership: Both Barry and Mark modeled servant leadership, doing every job from mopping floors to serving customers, building a culture of humility and loyalty.Unusually Low Turnover: The company boasts decades-long employee tenures, credited to culture, shared values, and a leadership style based on mutual respect and shared effort.Careful Vetting: Potential franchisees are assessed beyond the business plan—personality, values, and how they treat people matter deeply to the team.Supply Chain Simplicity: Raw frozen dough is distributed via Gordon Food Service, allowing consistent quality control while supporting national growth.Optimism for the Future: With new markets like Florida and Texas on the horizon,, the future looks bright and bagel-filled.

Shmuel, currently the Director of Lech L'cha Discipleship Ministry, served as the Associate Pastor of Adonai Roi (The Lord is My Shepherd) Congregation before joining the team of Lech L'cha. Shmuel was born in Tel Aviv to Jewish parents who immigrated to Israel fromIndia. He attended a Messianic Congregation for much of his childhood, and became serious about his own faith when he was 15 and, at a youth camp, decided to give his life to the Lord. After graduating from high school, he served as a combat medic in the Israeli army on the Golan Heights and in Lebanon. Later, while majoring in Geography at Tel Aviv University, Shmuel was drawn to serving in summer camps with a strong aspiration to reach out to youth - knowing how important it is for this age group to have someone to challenge them in the Lord.  After working for several years in security for El Al (Israeli Airlines) and the Israeli Consulate in New York, Shmuel returned to Israel and began attending Adonai Roi Congregation in the spring of 2003. That same year, he was invited to become the Youth Pastor. Through meetings with other youth leaders from different congregations around Israel, Shmuel met Suzie, who is also a native-born Israeli. In 2006, they married and currently have four children: Together they continued to be involved in leading youth and young believers in the inter-congregational youth group Neged Hazerem (Against the Flow) gathering the youth of multiple congregations together for weekly events. They were also actively involved in Katzir (The Harvest) organizing nationwide youth camps. Shmuel and his family moved to Yad Hashmona, a Messianic village in the Judean hills a few years ago, and they are blessed to have him serve in Lech L'cha. Shmuel's passion is to disciple the next generation of believers in Israel, equipping them to continue in their God-given callings.

There's so much going on this week so we packed it all into one episode. First up, Neal and Stumpy John took an adventure ride up to the Lost Coast in N. Cali. Everything up there is either ocean, redwoods, pot farms or vineyards, so you know the ride was epic. Next up, we spent the weekend down at Laguna Seca for the MotoAmerica races. For some of us, we've been going for years, so we focus on test riding bikes and all the things the races have to offer. For Jake 2.0, it being his first time to the races AND Laguna Seca, it was all amazing. We share our test ride stories on the CF Moto 450 Ibex, 800 Ibex and the Papeo. And Jake talks about seeing the corkscrew up close, and then what it's like to experience on the track. Liza introduces a new game called Wrong Answers Only, and pretty much regrets it immediately. Steph just got back from the Mods and Rockers rally, where scooterists and bikers all get along. Chris shares has stories on returning from the Scooter Cannonball. As a long distance IBR rider, did he have what it takes to do it on a scooter? And lastly, we read listener emails and answer some questions. with Liza, Stumpy John, Neal, Jake 2.0, Naked Jim, Bagel, Chris Comly and Steph Yue. www.motorcyclesandmisfits.com motorcyclesandmisfits@gmail.com www.patreon.com/motorcyclesandmisfits www.zazzle.com/store/recyclegarage www.youtube.com/channel/UC3wKZSP0J9FBGB79169ciew https://womenridersworldrelay.com/ adifferentagenda.com/products/the-lost-tribe-25 motorcyclesandmisfits.com/shop Join our Discord at discord.gg/hpRZcucHCT

It was a historic Ladies' Final on Centre Court — but probably not in the way anyone imagined when the day began. Iga Swiatek is your Wimbledon champion after a jaw-dropping 57-minute double bagel over Amanda Anisimova, wrapping up her sixth Grand Slam title in ruthless style. It's the first time we've seen a women's final won 6-0, 6-0 since Steffi Graf crushed Natalia Zvereva at the 1988 French Open.Joel and Chris are here to break down exactly what went down in a match everyone thought would be much tighter. They'll chat about what this win means for Swiatek's season and why she's just so unstoppable when it matters most at majors, having lost only two games across her semi-final and final at The Championships. And what about Anisimova? How does she pick herself up from such a tough loss — and can we expect to see her back on this stage anytime soon?Plus, there was even more history on the doubles court: Julian Cash and Lloyd Glasspool pulled off the first all-British men's doubles title in 89 years. Egan began writing for Cycle World in the late 1970s and later joined Road & Track in the 1980s. His writing stood out for its deep affection for classic vehicles, road trips, and the romance of travel and machinery. His popular columns, such as Side Glances (in Road & Track) and Leanings (in Cycle World), earned him a dedicated following. Peter joins us to share stories from his travels and talk about his newest book, Landings in America, where he and his wife traveled around the country in an old Piper Cub airplane with nothing more than a pup tent, a wad of cash, and a change of clothing.
