My guest this week was only a student when he became a NAHA finalist. He spent 10 years as an educator internationally and established technical academies across the globe. Today, he oversees the education team at Floyd's 99 Barbershops and this year he publishes his first book in collaboration with his sister Melissa. I've known him for years and I am so excited to share him with you on Headcases. Here is Patrick Butler.• While at NAHA, he introduced himself to Irvine Rusk and, as a student, asked for career advice. Irvine told him to do good work over and over again until you master it. Fail, start over, and keep doing it.• While with American Crew, Patrick worked on stage around the world and taught at several AC academies. The experienced built his confidence and developed his skill set beyond his expectations.• If you can master the cause and effect - the why - in the foundational skills - you will be able to adapt to any challenge or trend that comes your way.• What does Patrick mean when he says "100% is easy, 90% is hard"?⭐️⭐️⭐️ Check out more episodes and the videos at https://chrisbaran.com/podcast ⭐️ Join our FREE Facebook community for Salon Team Trainers today. https://facebook.com/groups/salonteamtraining ✅ Exclusive content on how to implement and scale your salon training the easy way ✅ Save time and learn what works from people just like you ✅ Get back to your mission of building the salon business and creating more jobs Learn more here - https://bit.ly/trainersplaybook Join our FB group - https://facebook.com/groups/salonteamtraining Follow us on IG - https://instagram.com/coachchrisbaran

Sponsored by OLAPLEX https://pro.olaplex.com/ Interview with David RaccugliaDavid Raccuglia is a man of many titles and accomplishments: company founder, entrepreneur and renowned photographer, but his first professional title was a hairstylist. He began his career as a stylist in the salon industry and today styling, and the salon community, continue to be his primary inspiration and motivation. After having traveled worldwide as a platform artist in the early 1980's he opened his own salon. Frustrated by the lack of grooming options on the market, but inspired by what he recognized as a true need, David founded American Crew® in 1994, bringing his expertise from behind both the barber chair and the camera to develop the brand and its collection of grooming products designed for men and the stylists they trust. American Crew® quickly established itself as the leading manufacturer of quality salon products for men, offering a diverse portfolio including hair care, styling, shave and body products. Today, American Crew® continues to be the leading professional men's grooming brand in the world. David is also an accomplished photographer, contributing his talent in this area across books, magazine covers and rock albums. He has built success through a well-earned reputation for all things relevant, refined and modern. His vision of uncompromised quality is key to his success. In episode 20, I chop it up with my friend & former athlete, DeMari Davis. DeMari and I trained together during his basketball career and now he's pivoted into his new career in modeling and music. It was great to catch up with him and get some updates on how his career in entertainment is taking off so quickly after stepping away from basketball. DeMari is most known as a model, working with major brands such as Finish Line, Foot Locker, Don C, American Crew and Rockstar Original, but he's also on the rise as a recording artist. DeMari has major talent in both and a bright future in both as well! This was a fun episode because it truly showcases how powerful it is when you follow your dreams, and shows how important it is to find passion and interests outside of “your sport.” DeMari is the perfect example of someone with many talents, and the work ethic to find success at any of them. After going through his journey in hoops, we dive into his acting and music journey and discuss all of the great things he's got in the works in each. DeMari shares stories from behind the scenes in basketball, modeling and music — and we blend these three worlds by discussing pop culture & current events throughout the show. Make sure you follow DeMari on IG and show him some love. You can also download his latest EP here! --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/gemsessions/support

Quickly growing with L'Oreal, in the Professional and Luxury divisions, she continued her career in beauty with Yves Saint Laurent Beaute, then part of the Gucci Group in London which led her to relocating to New York for the position of VP Marketing YSL Beaute.  This was followed by prominent roles as SVP of Marketing for Lancome at L'Oreal USA, President of The Lucky Group for Conde Nast and as CEO and Founder of The Round House, a brand advisory and consulting firm.   With an innate love, drive and passion for bringing the best of beauty brands to consumers, Gill was recruited to continue her career in NY as the Global General Manager for the Revlon Incubator. . . Our guests on today’s episode are Scott Nichols and Patrick Butler from Floyd’s 99 Barbershop. These two "show up" and represent this incredible organization in very important and meaningful ways. Floyd’s is an alternative twist on an old school classic established in 1999 by brothers Paul, Rob and Bill O'Brien. Floyd’s is not a traditional barbershop. It has thrived over the past twenty years and carved out its niche in this industry. Interestingly, Floyd’s 99 stylists and barbers offer a wide range of services for men & women.. Each salon is designed to have a fun, engaging neighborhood hangout vibe with great music, high energy and lively conversations taking place. Of note, are the unique murals that are painted on the exteriors of the buildings. This spells out the individualism of each location. Patrick is the Technical Director of Education at Floyd’s and has over 25 years of industry experience. He spent 10 years at American Crew as an International Educator where he helped to establish technical academies across North America, Europe, and Asia. He has taught men’s haircutting and grooming in over 10 different countries and possesses a strong background in beauty and grooming product sales and distribution. Scott is a franchising guru. Recently appointed to lead Floyd’s franchise related efforts, he brings over 25 years of franchise experience working for nationally-recognized brands like Dunkin’ and Jimmy Johns. Scott will refine the company’s franchise program and build a solid foundation that will work to take the brand to its targeted expansion goals. In this podcast, Patrick and Scott share their thoughts about Floyd’s, which makes it a very special place to work, and what makes it unique. They also give us some insight as to what has made them successful and their vision for the future.
